First, great thread, Hermione17! I'm very fond of Hagrid, because he's loyal and he's a greta person, always willing to fight for the good. I think he's the most true, pure and loyal character of the whole HP series.
I hope in the future we are going to make of this a fan club

And I've felt awful in all the past week since I found this, because I wanted to post but there were always another topics ahead

But now I told to myself 'Today is the day!'
What do you think Hagrid does for his brother after the series?
I think he was allowed to keep him in the Forbidden Forest, and he kept caring for him as always, maybe aided for the Ministry to prevent him from pull out all the trees. Maybe he even was allowed to bring the older students to see him and learning to ... care for him, or something.
That was one of the things that touched me, the fact that he cared for his half-brother, beyond the fact he likes dangerous things and risks, he's been all his life alone after his dad's death. Not only alone in regards of family, but also in any aspect. Dumbledore was the only important person who really stood for him. You also could see McGonagall being a bit careful about trusting him, till she decided he was a good person. And that was worse after he was supposed to open the Chamber of Secrets, and that was worse after the wizarding world found out we was half giant. I think his life was really hard, and he had nothing close to be supported, besides Dumbledore, till the trio came along.
Do you think Hagrid becomes a sort of, a front runner for a pro-relationship with the giants?Sure, he told that about giants not being that bad to the trio, plus he'd be a front runner for anything related to magical creatures.
If Hagrid wasn't around to bring Harry to the Dursley's, who do you think Dumbledore would have trusted with the task?Maybe Sirius Black, because he didn't know it has been him the one supposed to have killed the Potters, but maybe he had his doubts about him. I can't imagine of anybody else. maybe himself. He trusted Hagrid because he already know he'd never leave him, he'd protect Harry with his life, and so he did during all their relation ship.
Once the ministry found out that Hagrid wasn't the one who opened the Chamber of Secrets...why didn't they allow him to use a wand? He still used his umbrella didn't he?
I don't knnow, the Ministry never did the rightest things, just like our own governments do. I hope Kingsley could allow him, but there's another thing: he left Hogwarts in his third year, didn't him? So he isn't very able to perform complex things, as we saw in The Seven Potters, but maybe they could send somebody to teach him, or maybe they could have made him promess not to try to do certain spells that could go wrong.
Why do you think the Order placed Harry with Hagrid in Deathly Hallows? There were obviously more skilled wizards present to escort Harry. Do think that they could have avoided all the injuries if someone else had Harry?Well, as they said, here you have some of the reasons:
*Harry would be expected to be travelling by broom,
*Harry would be expected to travel with more skilled wizards,
*Hagrid is half-giant, so jinxes and curses affect him only partially
*the motorbike had "a bit o' tinkerin'" and that would be more useful to protect him
*I think injuries would have come in the same way or even worse, since look where Voldemort aimed first: Mad-Eye, and he died, Kingsley, and luckily he found out it wasn't him, because you could guess what would have happened to poor Hermione ... I think he would have thought of Harry lastly, because he never took him into account, as he never did with 'inferior people or beings'
When Hagrid was teaching Care of Magical Creatures...why did he choose the some of the most dangerous creatures out there? Do you think this was a bit reckless?Yes, it was reckless, but you know what they say, for Hagrid, dragons and chimaereas, and tree headed dogs are sweeter and harmless than teddy bears ...
