i cant believe they moved the date for the half blood prince movie thats just wrong

Mod Edit: Hi, please elaborate in your posts, since one liners aren't allowed. Also, please check out the rules. Thanks!
HJP/HJG_TrueLove
It doesn't really bother me all that much. I wasn't looking forward to this movie all that much but I was going to see it nonetheless. I am kinda upset though, after they set a date they shouldn't have ever changed it. They should have thought of the pros of having a summer release before setting a date. I just hope they don't move the release of either of the Deathly Hallows parts back.
chinery13
I am so confused! wacko.gif

Cann they really do that so close to the release?! Is it just UK and US moved of is it everything because on here it says Australia are December 2008 still!?

Please i need explanations! I think i almost and a shock/panic attack when i suddenly read it!!!

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! I swear I died when I saw that. A whole other year?! WHAT?! That's two years of wait! How can they do this to us! UGH UGH UGH. I am DEAD. I can't breathe properly. I can't talk at all. I'm making an angry-at-WB wallpaper and then staying away from the computer. I'm sooo angry, it's not even funny. I'm like dead. I won't be able to sleep tonight. Not that I usual can. People don't look so crushed about this. But I am. CRUSHED. AAAGHHH!!!

I would assume every country's release date got pushed back, not just the US and Uk's release date. It wouldn't make sense to push back some and not the others because the reason about the writers strike still applies everywhere else in the world. I don't know if they would want half the world knowing the plot and the other half not knowing anything. Also this movie is filmed using all UK actors and they wouldn't make the UK one of the last countries to see the film.
harrypotterlover1024
I cannot believe they did that!!!! ohmy.gif mad.gif How could they. At first I thought they meant Deathly Hallows, so I was super happy. But when I found out it was for HBP, boy did that all change! All of the fans have been waiting, and waiting. It was only like 98 days away! Now it will be over 11 months away! I am so upset I feel like screaming. I just called all my friends who were going to see the movie with me, and we were all screaming and yelling on the phone. Its not like they didn't finish post production on time either, so they didn't need more time for that! They are only doing this for the money, because the summer brings in more people. If they wanted to do it in the summer, why not just release it now??? Or, if they wanted to make more money they could have just pushed it to Christmas time. By moving it, they will bring in more people and more money, but it was just so close to the release date! I have never heard of a movie being moved up 8 months after post-production. So from they time of now till then do you think they will release more trailers and pictures? I am just so upset over this, I can't believed this happened! sad.gif I feel like crying.

P.S. here is the link if some people don't want to go back to the home page.
Rachelle-is-a-Ravenclaw
I can't believe it! I'm distraught, I mean why move the release date, I'm sure millions of people are anticipating this movies release, I was really looking forward to November but now we all have to wait for next summer to roll round! So annoying! Can you tell I'm angry and all for flaming profit, as if they don't make enough money anyway! Especially with the split of the Dealthy Hallows grrr! Beware I might squeel in a minute, my friends and I all wanted to see this now we are bitterly disappointed.

Potions Mistress
I think I'm just plainly sad. I've just returned from a cinema where they also screened the HBP trailer (it looked so good on the screen, unlike on youtube). The trailer whetted my appetite only to come home and see such news.

Of course, I'm sad because of the fact that we will have to wait for so incredibly and ridiculously long, but all the more because of the fact that, as harrypotterlover1024 rightly puts it, the whole business is so blatantly ruled by money. We know that the reason for all the hype around the movies and merchandise is always money but never before have the producers stated it that clearly and explicitly. The viewers don't matter, what matters is money. Sad but true. sad.gif
Magelirose
It's interesting that you should say you've just seen the trailer on the wide screen, Potions Mistress, as when I went to see The Mummy only last Saturday, I was fully expecting to see the HBP trailer - but it wasn't shown. I am wondering if that was because they were already preparing to make this announcement, so stopped showing the trailer here in the UK? I'm also wondering if that is why we didn't get anything more than the teaser trailer until now. But then again, why bother releasing the teaser now, if they had no intention of releasing the film until next summer?

This is such a disappointment to me. I have been looking forward to this ever since OotP, and now I have to wait another year? This is horrible.
Chudley Cannons
First off, I doubt any of you have noticed, but I had quite a consderable absence from the boards. Welcome back me. tongue.gif

Secondly... ohmy.gif

I was looking forward to this one! It looked amazing! What lasting repercussions could there be from the strike?!
lupin<3tonks
mad.gif Yeah I'm a little mad too. I'm hoping this will come back and say that the rumors are wrong and its still slated for November of this year. I can't see how they think they'll make more money in the summer than in November. The Thanksgiving holidays will be right around the corner so thats a great opportunity for people to go and watch it with families. This really just put me in a bad mood!! Not happy at all!!!
I am a machineee
I am very excited about HBP being pushed back. Now maybe they can do some re-shoots and make a GOOD film... unlike OttP which had a FEW good things, but overall ruined the adaption. David Yates better fix everything, or else I will petition to have Alfonso Cuaron back for Deathly Hallows.

I'm just curious about JK Rowling's involvement, she can't be okay with all the liberties WB have been taking.

It doesn't help if the fans just eat up all the changes they make, we need to take a stand!! I could list the atrocities being made by Yates to this film.

July 2008, here's looking to a GOOD HBP adaption! tongue.gif

monkeymushroom
shocking.gif NOOOOO!

lac.gif This can't be ... this means i've got to wait even longer ... and we won't recieve any more material until next year. I really really really hate this writer's strike mad2.gif . Why can't they just pay them the money and recognition and have done with it?
I am soooooo disappointed ... WHY? eeek.gif (SNIFF sniff)

I can't believe it ........... pinch.gif ............. you bunch of animal.

This is just an excuse, so WB can make more money. Why didn't they warn us before that this could happen, instead of leading us down this road of illusion? They knew that there was a writer's strike going on, they're somehow gonna have to fill in all this extra time gap. Thay've already released the trailer. Now they're asking us to wait another six or even nine months until we possibly get to see the other one. They've got to have some sort of hype planned.

Of course, i'm gonna have to accept that this is happening, which is why i'm not as angry as i should be in this situation, but this is all the moviemakers' fault. Now they've got to make up for not warning us before hand. It's the PRINCIPLE that matters!

Mod Edit: You've been here long enough to know that use of excessive characters is not permitted. Please limit it to five, I have edited your post.
lupin<3tonks
I got no impression from reading the article that they are going to change anything about the film. Can you point out to me where that is? From what I got, the only reason they are pushing back the release date is because they believe they will make more money from it in the summer of 2009. A part of me wants to just boycott and and tell them exactly what they can do with that money! mad.gif
Witherwings
By buddy Lauren came up with the idea that it's because they're scared of Twilight, lol. I think it makes sense. biggrin.gif Maybe they are. And I guess they have points anyway, if OOTP really did make that much more money. It's worth it for them. But not for us. Like you all said, they're doing it for the money. They don't care about how much I suffer. eeek.gif I hope we'll still be getting some pictures and trailers 'regurlarly', though. I'm glad the decision was made after the trailer was released. Or else they might not have even released it...! Ugh. Still mad.

They're not changing anything about the movie, it's done, they said it in the article. They wrote that the movie was finished on time and stff.

From the things posted on the website here, a lot of changes have been made. There is still no logic to how the longest book in the series is now the shortest film(OotP, obviously).

Here is a spoiler list of just a few things Yates has changed:
(sorry, I couldn't make inviso-text for spoilers..

***SPOILERS BELOW!!!***

The Gaunts storyline has been taken out.

Rufus Scrimgeour's role has been significantly reduced or cut.

Neville's storyline is already missing because of OotP now.

Fleur Delacour and now Bill Weasley have been cut, meaning no wedding for the seventh film.

Mr. Weasley is now going to be attacked by Greyback mad.gif

There is now a scene where Harry & Ginny escape through fields from the Burrow as it is being set aflame by Bellatrix Lestrange and Greyback.

***END SPOILERS!!!***

I'm sure I could add on a bit more to that list, but COME ON, that is RIDICULOUS! Too many liberties have been taken with the source material, I am disappointed.

Mod Edit: Excessive use of characters is not permitted, we have a limit of five, I have deleted some of yours to fit the Rules.
Triad
I'm not all that fussed about the change to be honest. If anything I'm glad for it. I would have had a 2 month old if the movie came out on the original date and probably wouldn't have gone to see it. At least now the baby will be about ten months old and I can go and see it without worrying the entire time. I could have gone to a Mothers and Babies screening but I'd probably miss half the movie. So yeah, I'm glad it;s coming out later. smile.gif

It would have been nice if they'd just left the date as is but I'm their reasons were well justified to them. Just because no-one else will like it doesn't make them bad people. Sure it's probably about the money but so? If the original date was kept we'd all go and see it then and they'd still make the same amount of money. If anything they might lose a few hundred thousand from the people who refuse to go see it, or who are on holidays or whatever with this new date. but in all honesty, who would actually boycott HBP? We all know the HP movies look better on the big screen and who would be silly enough to miss one of the last ones? Seriously. It's a big shock now but come tomorrow people will start to accept it and realise it might actually be better this way. Just like when they announced that the second DH movie would be out months after the first, everyone was in an uproar but does anyone care about it now? No. It was accepted. The same thing will happen here. People will deny it though......but we'll see.
lupin<3tonks
Well, thats my point. How much big of a money difference will they make? It just is stupid in my opinion to change the date if there won't be that much difference in the amount of money that is generated. I beg to differ that movies are much better on the big screen, you can enjoy them just as much at home on your own television but thats off topic. And I wasn't that dissapointed that they were putting DH into two different movies, to me, that will help do the book justice. Hopefully. But that too, is off the topic. Waiting three months before the movie is slated to be release to change it for eight months later is cruel. But no one is actually going to boycott the movie, it was just my way of showing how ridiculous I think their move is. But you are right, the hype will die down about this in a little while but that doesn't mean some people can't be taken aback by the decision right now. There are far more worse things going on in the world right now, HBP being moved isn't the end of it. But no, I don't see how it could be better by moving it to next summer, just senseless. And like some people speculate: they could just be scared of how Twilight will do.
UnknownLocket
Are you kidding me?! I can not believe this! How can they be so selfish!? Harry Potter makes money no matter what! So why should that be a problem. Pushing it back is going to make so many fans angry just as I am now. I'll be fine though later, just give me some time. But I still can't believe this! Never before has the greed for money made me anymore livid! Ugh! I can't even think now, I'm just in shock. It's funny though because I had heard about the date being pushed back on Youtube but I never thought twice about it. This is just so depressing....
azlin
I don't see what all the fuss is about. I can barely stand to watch the movies. They are so poorly adapted from the books that it should be a crime for WB to allow the rest of them to be produced. The only reason I continue to watch them is because it is sort of like a train wreck. You know you're only going to be depressed by what you see, yet your fascinated by the calamity that is taking place. I would hope they would use this time to add things in. We all know that will not happen though.

Face it, the movies have been an utter failure. Maybe not in terms of gross revenue but in the way they have been received. Yates and Newell, specifically, should be forced to distribute their income, from these movies, to all the fans of the series. That way everyone gets their money back from tickets and other move related products, and they don't profit from making such awful movies.

I'll give a reprieve to Columbus and Cuaron, their movies at least kept me entertained.
LeoTheLionness1986
OMG I can't believe all that stuff has been taken out. But hey where did you get all that information? I wanna know, this is very interesting! LOL!

LeoTheLionness1986,

Here is the Greyback attacks Arthur article:

http://www.veritaserum.com/article.php?a=s&aid=24007

Which also tells about Charlie and Fleur.

The part about the Burrow had been rumored but there is a form of proof. The rumor matches a few quick cuts in the trailer perfectly, namely characters running through tall reeds and Ginny in the reeds in her pajamas. Blah!
Corpus_Agnelli
Aside from money-grubbing reasons, I bet problems in the editing phase and post-production pushed the release date back. Yates is not particularly strong in integrating CGI effectively as part of the overall movie experience. Yes, we had the dazzling wand fight and some nice ministry action in OotP, but those standalone moments were clearly FX driven scenes, and it felt like someone else's hand, not Yates, oversaw them.

Perhaps studio execs watched a relatively full cut of HBP and realized that, despite their hoopla over Yates' last year, they are now seeing how his limitations do not fit with their marketable conceptions and standards, or at least not at the level they are satisfied with - hence delaying the release in order to re-work the package.

Still, an entire year is a bit too much. Either they really have a LOT of post-production issues, or they are simply banking on making more money as a summer blockbuster. I say both reasons are cop outs. I mean, really, how significantly better/worse would HBP be (financially or theatrically) whether it was release in the fall/winter versus the following summer? I'd be okay if this kind of move happened for DH which, deservedly, should have more attention to it's overall production.

...either that, or they realized the HBP plot in itself was problematic *ducks* shutup.gif
Hermione66
I am absoloutly distraught how can they make us wait a whole year, that is just wrong of them to set a release date and then change it a whole year, they should all be sued. I mean they didnt have a reason other than more people will watch it in the summer, an to me that is a **** excuse.

Wow. Just wow. I had faith in Warner Brothers, I really did, but they ruined it. I actually believed, foolishly, that this movie was going to be the revolution in the Harry Potter market. The movie that actually made fans satisfied.

But all they care about is money. Do they think that this is going to help their money chances? I may not even go see the movie any more! The only reason why I lived through tenth grade was because I was excited for the Half-Blood Prince in November, but now I have to live through ANOTHER SCHOOL YEAR!

I'm waiting for a petition to surface the internet, and it will definitely get my signature.
Seriouslysirius
I'm in Spain and I was checking sites for half and hour out of the sun and i hear this news! I'm appalled admittley i haven't read the reason for the date change yet i'll be doing it shortly though. But I was really looking forward to it a night out and speculation wether it will be good or bad etc. But having to wait a whole year is obviously going to annoy fans and how wil lall this fare for DH? That is such a shame. sad.gif

Edit. Oh it's about the money i'd have thought it've done well winter or summer I mean the films are getting popular and popular.
monkeymushroom
I can't believe they had the nerve to say, 'being nice to the fans, the gap between HBP and DHpart1 will be shorter'. Nice? NICE? How do they know what we fans want? And, plus, raincheck, they told us ages ago when DH is going to be released so we're over that now, but they never told us this could happen. It's just wrong of them to change the date last minute. We were being led to believe for a very long time that we'd be seeing this film at christmas. It's so annoying.

What do they mean that the writer's strike has only just started to affect them? They've finished the script, they told us everything was nearly finished. What's happened?
La MaitressedeMort
So, I'm literally crying on the inside right now, cause I had like all these plans to go see it that day with friends since I'm in college now, and they're far away, and it was going to be cool and awesome, and now we can't. I mean, I understand his reasoning and all that, but after the trailer comes out, you change it? That just seems kinda weird to me.

So, that's really my only complaint, is that it seems really late to change a release date, since like everyone in the world, ok everyone who's obsessed and cares a lot, knew the date by heart and all that. Maybe I'm crazy, but if I was going to change the date, I most definitely would have done it so much earlier than this. We're like three months away, which seems far to soon, since just days before they were going to start selling tickets, am I right?

~Aeryn~
Lily/JamesForever
AHHHHH!!!!! NO!!!! NOT FAIR!!! shocking.gif I can't believe it!!!!! MONEY!!!! $$$ THAT IS THE PROBLEM!!! tHEY ARE DONE WITH THE MOVIE. Just release it. I really hope all the anger from the fans will make them change the date back. ^look up^

And that's what makes me mad the most.

They had already officially released the date. If they were unsure about the profit they would make or the effects of the writers' strike, they should have never given fans the official release date for HBP. And then on top of that, they released the trailer! You can't just give someone a trailer (one so interesting too) and then expect them to have to wait a year before the actual movie comes out. It's like being asked to play a game show for a million dollars, winning, and then being told that it was all a joke. I feel robbed. dry.gif

We have been teased completely, but really, this should not have been allowed, all the fans have been hyped up, thinking aswell, if it's for profit I don't see how it will make a difference now, because we will all want to see it no matter what flaming date it is so why summer '09 aaarrggh! What really disgusts me about this is the effect it will now have on the charity event they had planned and set into motion for November 17th. I sent an email to the organisers re the ticket sales:

I have just heard that the release date for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince film has been postponed until Summer 2009. I am taking it that the charity screenings will no longer be taking place on the 17th of November 2008 then?

Could you please advise as to what will happen with the ticket sales for this charity event?

Many thanks

This was their response:

We are very sorry to confirm that the Royal Film Performance featuring Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince has be cancelled due to the fact that the film will be coming six month later this year to the screens.
We do not have any further information since we just got the news. Everybody will be returned their payments including those who became members to be able to purchase the tickets.
I will give you more information as soon as possible and am very sorry about this,

Kind regards,

So Warner Bros rakes it in, whilst those really in need lose out.

BIG TIME.

Like I said, I am disgusted.

This was me :explosion smiley goes here:...why isn't there an explosion smiley?!?

...Anywho, I was really sad because I wanted to see it with my biddies before they go to all different schools. And my friends are "out of sight, out of mind" people.

On the other hand, I'm kinda made fun of for loving HP so much, so they won't be able to ask me "So, did you see the new movie" in evil sarcastic tones!

What is up with WB?! Have you guys seen the new pictures that have emerged from the HBP movie? Yeah, well you would think that that would make me happy but now I'm even more mad. This is torture! This just makes me even more excited for a film that I shouldn't expect to see for another year. They probably thought that this would satisfy thousands of angry fans if they gave out new photos. Well, I'm not happy. They are nice pictures though....
harrypotterlover1024
I just looked at all the new pictures that were posted at the home page here. Why is WB even releasing new pictures if they are making us wait till July. If they still give us new pictures up untill the new release date, we will have seen the whole movie by then. I still can't believe they did this and when I saw the pictures I didn't get excited, I got sad thinking about now how long away the movie is.

They changed the date to the summer to make more money, but I don't see why it wouldn't make the same amount in the Thanksgiving/Christmas time. Maybe if so many people complain they will change the date back, but I don't see that happening. The only good thing I can take from this is the time in between HBP and DH part 1 will be shorter than it would have been.
Seriouslysirius
As many people have been saying in lifght of the new picture releases due to the news of the date change it didn't get me excited like it normally would it just makes me think oh it looks good but no really point in getting excited about it with a whole year having to go by before i get to see it. But the magazine says this fall so imagine what they'll all have to say when there next issues come out. I'm still struggling to understand why they did it other than money.
monkeymushroom
I'm having slight mixed emotions about this whole deal now. One part of me thinks this is so uncool, the way they've left it until now to tell everybody. Sure they didn't decide until about a few days ago, but they must've had some sort of an incling that this may happen. Now, when i see new photos surfacing on the internet, i'm happy about knowing what's coming and all that, but then i get sad reminding myself that it's a long time till i get to experience what i see on these stills. The other part of me though undestands why it would seem a better opportunity to release it in the summer. Clearly they were lying when they said it was partly to do with the writer's strike, because they've just admitted that their main concern is the sales.

I have to admit, that even though i'll have to wait even longer to see it, i like the idea that when i do see it millions more people will be talking about it and i won't be alone in enjoying the new potter film. Before whenever there was a harry potter film in cinemas it was always awkward saying to people 'oh, hey, guess wot? I'm going to see Harry Potter this weekend' and then have them reply 'oh, ok, good for you'. I don't why but there seems to be this idea circulating that Harry Potter is sad. Why is it sad? I don't get it. It's a good story. It's only because these people are afraid to like something. They're such snobs ... sorry ... got carried away there.

I have to say, it wasn't a very tactful way of changing the date. They should have talked about this ages ago, and then us fans wouldn't be so disappointed.
Eisa
I really don't think it's fair of WB to change the date THIS close to it coming out. With this movie or any other movie. And with the whole wanting to make more money in the summer or whatever, um, isn't the first part of DH supposed to come out roundabouts in November? So are they going to push THAT one back, too? dry.gif I mean, if you're going to do it to ONE, you might as well do it to ALL, right? Sheesh.
Gwenog
Duh! Oh well now if they think this is a way to treat fans then I have to say something I cannot say because I am sure people who are underage could read this. I am really thinking about not watching it anymore because I am so mad at them. I mean what the heck? They tease us and then...well I wanna kick somebody really...argh! This is pure greed! Actually all Hp fans should just boycott WB, that's the only way they will see how silly they act.
I will stop as many people as I can to watch this movie. mad.gif
Man I am so annoyed that I can't articulate anymore!
Felipe_Black
I think the decision to delay the film is really strange, I know they have said that it is to ensure the overall success of the film, but the last film was released at the end of the start of the autumn (in UK) and was a massive hit.
Also remeber LOTR, it was released 3 at Christmas, every year for three years and each of them were a massive success

Also surely no one new is going to start watching the films now, who would skip 5 movies and start at number 6, that makes no sense at all.

Personally I think there must be some elements of the film that the WB bosses are not happy with, so I expect there might be some re-shoots or new SFX and CGI shots worked on in the comming months.

However as the film is completed I fully expect it to be leaked on the internet in the comming months
Akikaza-chan
I don't think I'm as mad as I should be about this...

Maybe that's because I already assumed that HBP would be released next year anyway. It seemed to fit a pattern. Harry Potter -- 2 year wait -- Harry Potter.

My mother actually was the one who told me it would be coming out this year. I got so excited, I was all "Ooh, I can go see Harry Potter and then go see Twilight!" And now all I've got is twilight. sad.gif I mean I could wait a whole nother year to see Twilight. But this is just cruel. I am so aggravated.

I had a bet with my mother. She bet it came out this year. I bet it comes out next year. The loser had to pay for all the tickets.

I never thought I would be so upset to be proved right.
AlannahG
I'm upset they've moved the movie, but I'm not really all that angry. I understand they want to milk it for all the money it's worth, but it is really unfair of them to wait until this close to it coming out and then postpone it by almost a year. It's also got me worried that the release dates for Deathly Hallows may be moved back. They have Deathly Hallows scheduled for release November of 2010, but if they want a summer release they may push it to 2011.

I'm also upset that they care more about money than the fans.
lupin<3tonks
Okay, I've been spinning about this thing for days, and my sister is ready to knock me upside the head if I don't let it go. However, in light of recent debates that I have engaged in with others, I have decided to do a little research of my own. Ok, so we know that HBP has been moved from November of 2008 to July of 2009. WB feels that they can benefit from the summer time slot than if they stuck with their original date of November of this year. Some people speculate that the change is due to Twilight and other hot movies being released around the Thanksgiving/Christmas time frame and that they are scared of the competition. While others just believe its a great oppurtunity for them to make more money and appeal to a larger mass by being in the summer months. I do not agree to this. I believe that the fan base and hype have more to do with how well the movie will do than what month it is opening in.

The following list is comprised of the five HP films that have been already released and what they made:
*sorcerors stone- nov 2001 $317,575,550

Shrek and HP went up against each other in summer 2007. Shrek won.
Spiderman and HP went up against each other in summer 2004. Spiderman won.
Lotr and Harry potter went up against each other in winter of 01. HP won.
Lotr and harry potter went up against each other in winter of 02. LOTR won.
Spiderman, Transformers and HP went up against each other in summer 07. Spiderman won.
The only time HP did better than another movie it was up against was during the Christmas season. The summer time slots were won by other films.

Also, Transformers 2 is slated to be released in June of 09 along with Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs in July 09. Both these movies will run against Harry Potter. However, I speculate(WB may be thinking this too or may already know it) that because of Shia Lebeouf's recent DUI wreck that filming has been halted therefore messing with the wrap up for this film. It may not be released in June of next year. This could be very good for HP, and what WB is banking on. But a miracle could happen and the film open up on schedule. Tranformers was a huge hit, and I have no doubt it will be again. So the open time slot in the summer months won't work out for the WB, at least I don't think it will. And to sum it up like another member had in another post: I think WB has shot themselves in the foot for changing the release date! I now solemnly swear never to bring this up again!!! magic.gif <<<thats ihkny celebrating.

We have a petition to WB to get HBP released in 2008! The fans need to take it to the CEO's! They can't promise us a Nov. 08 release for over a year and then pull out 90 days before when the film is done and ready to go!

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/release-h...lf-blood-prince

Sign it and post a comment. Tell WB the fans will be there in Nov. 08 but will stay home in July 09!

Mod Edit: I'm moving this to the appropriate thread in which everyone is discussing this and I feel it would get a better response.

Hi fellow vtm-goers smile.gif .Im also realy realy disapointed about the wait, and all the stuff that's been cut out sad.gif but i kinda feel sorry for WB as well. they must be good people, they do make the Harry Potter movie's after all wub.gif , and the fact that they are good people mean's that they most likely feel guilty about this. Imagine being aware of the fact that you had let down a whole wide world of harry potter fan's. Good luck with the wait everyone!! happy posting, have pleasant day's xoxoxoxo

I'm sorry guys, but i think i'm going to just accept that Warner Brothers may not change their minds and that the film will come out in July. And even though i'm disappointed about not seeing it this year, i'm still going to be there in July, because i love the films too much to not see them in cinemas. Besides, when it comes to July i'll be excited again. Unless WB pulls another pathetic stunt and moves it up to November 2009, which by the way if they did i would never ever forgive them and in a way they would be losing fans instead of gaining them.

It's one of those unusual years isn't? Where the hype surfaces and then goes down, and by summer 2009 the hype will resurface again. In fact, this is the first time i think any film has done that.

I wouldn't be surprised actually if they did do the same to Deathley Hallows part 1 and 2, despite what they promised about fans being able to wait less time to see them.

I read about this horrible news in a Dutch newspaper, and honestly: I thought it was a joke or a mistake.

But when I saw the VTM homepage, well ... the reality just made me so angry! shocking.gif

I just can't believe that WB is so greedy that they want to move the release date to july 2009 ''because more people come and see it then...'' What a bunch of jerks mad.gif
I mean, is their idea even logical? During summer, most people want to enjoy the nice weather and have a drink in the sun. I personally love to go to the movies during the Christmas holidays, when there is nothing else to do but stay inside or go to family meetings. I think it's awesome to go and see a movie on a cold, rainy evening around Christmas time.

But well... if WB thinks that summer 2009 is a better date, then that's the way it's gonna be. UGH! wacko.gif

Lily Luna Potter :-)
it soooo sucks that the release date has been moved to like almost a whole year later! i was starting to get really excited because it was under 100 days left and now this happens!! mad.gif i thought my computer was playing up or something when it said that there was something like 300 and something days until it was out but then i found out. ohmy.gif when i told my dad he thought it was a joke until i waited a few days to see if warner bros would come out and say it was a joke (complete wishfull thinking though) but no such luck! sad.gif i have loads of other things that i was going to say but i can't remember now!! oh well!

I haven't been on this site for a few days and this happens!!!!! What are they going to do now, make DH int 7 parts, i can't believe ther doing this to us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A school year and more sad.gif . I mean, which movie do they think they're making the Dark Knight?????? Who wants to boycott this so it can at least be in for x-mas

I cried when I found this out. And then I was immediately furious. And appaled that any people who make a living from the entertainment of others could be so greedy. I'll never forgive them for doing this. They've practically canceled the entire series. How do they expect to just cancel the movie now, which is basically what they've done in my eyes, when they've got out the advertisements and trailers and posters? I hate them more than words can express. They should never have gotten away with splitting Deathly Hallows up for sheer profit. Now they think they can do anything to our series! It's disgusting and sad how they completely destroy the movie series and innocent children's happiness for the sake of money. They'll stop at nothing. If it means chopping the series up and rearranging it, they'll do it. They're already releasing movies too far apart. Now they're going to lose most of their fans. It will be two straight years with no movies, books, theme parks or anything. People are going to simply give up on Harry Potter. They'll get tired of waiting, and start reading Twilight or something, and forget all about it. By the time the movie does come out, years from now, they won't bother to lift their noses from their new books to even watch the trailer! I'm absolutely devastated by this news, and I sent a very strongly worded email to them. I honestly hate them. The stupid thing is, summer 2009 is not even an empty window with no other movies. Dozens of other silly little movies have a whole year to pop up. I'm insulted that they think we fans are just toys to be played with and manipulated. "Let's move the date back, that way the little impatient fans will be lined up at the door when the movie does come out. Ha, they're so predictable!" The thought of them disgusts me.
Anyway, this is an example of the fact that things just go downhill when people get too caught up in money.
