As promised here's the new Twilight thread. I have copied over the original post from the first thread opened by Hilly.
QUOTE
I've definitely seen some Twilighters out there on Vtm, and I bet there are more, so I thought it would be a great idea to start a thread!
For those of you who don't know, the Twilight Saga currently consists of four books written by Stephenie Meyer: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and (in August) Breaking Dawn. There is the posibility of more, though from a different perspective, but these are the planned four. The basic plotline is about a human girl, Bella, who falls in love with the vampire Edward. Naturally, their relationship has several problems. Edward, along with his four "siblings", pretend to be students at Bella's high school, adopted by Esme and Carlise. The books are written from Bella's point of view, concentrating on the different aspects of being in a relationship with an immortal as well as the complications of being so intune with the vampire world bring. Though the story might sound a little strange, the books are fantastic and will surely captivate you from the first chapter.
Twilight the movie is currently being filmed and is set for release on December 12th. Edward is being played by none other than Robert Pattinson (Perhaps more recognizable to some as Cedric Diggory) while Bella is being portrayed by Kristen Stewart. (for those of you who have seen Into the Wild, that's her) The rest of the cast are fantastic as well!
If you want to read the books first and don't want to be spoiled, I suggest you stop right here.
But I'm interested to hear what you guys think!
Some questions to get you started:
Bella: vampire or human in Breaking Dawn?
Was Edward justified in leaving?
Favorite part of the series in the books so far?
What do you think of the cast for the movie?
Jacob or Edward? (You had to see that one coming... )
Feel free to ask other questions (I am terrible at coming up with good ones! ) and squeel about why you love Edward.
The last question of the old thread was asking about other vampire books that we like. Unfortunately this is not on topic so let's start with a fresh question. Also, there is a thread if you want to discuss the Robert Pattinson phenomenon as a seperate entity to Twilight that can be found
here.Question: How many people have you introduced/cajoled/coerced in to reading the Twilight saga? And, did they like it?

Woohoo.... shiny new thread!!
As for Elaine's question:
How many people have you introduced/cajoled/coerced in to reading the Twilight saga? And, did they like it?I have talked at least 2 people into reading Twilight. They are still in the process of reading it, and are saving all remarks about the book until the end. I'm also in the process of trying to coerce 2 others into reading it. I'm expecting them to break any day now. hehe

How many people have you introduced/cajoled/coerced in to reading the Twilight saga? And, did they like it?Erm..

just *cough*
ONE! My sister and she didn't even like it!! Some converter I am!! But I think I have convinced her enough to go see the
movie with me! So maybe I'm good for something! haha

P.S: Upon further thinking, I don't think it was so much me that convinced her to go to see the movie as much as it was
Robert Pattinson that has convinced her to go.. so I retract my previous statement. lol.

Oh wow a new thread; I have been dreading for this day :/ I felt like the first thread was our baby with all of our theories and stories

oh well here's to number 2!
How many people have you introduced/cajoled/coerced in to reading the Twilight saga? And, did they like it?Oh wow let me see; My friend Kristina well she knew about it and a friend promised her but I lend her the books becuase I was told about the series in the beginning of 2006 but never really looked into it until now. And I read them before her and lend her my books and it turns out that while she had my books her mom was reading them as well!

then I got my friend Etil into it she already read Twilight and New Moon in less than a week. Then now my friend Miriam is reading them and I just found out that my friend Kristina's sister wants to read them as well and my friend Alexandra

Plus I have friends who already read them. So I've hooked alot of people. And all of them liked it

Suprisingly enough

Okay.... I need to vent!!!!!
How many of us were excited to see the Twilight cast on the VMAs tonight?? I know I was. I was
seriously upset when the host( Russell Brand) cut Rob off and didn't let him talk!!! I will admit they all looked totally hot, but still..... I was soooo looking forward to hearing from everyone,
especially Rob!! Sorry... I done venting for now.
Here is a clip that shows that Rob was also a little frustrated!! (Scan down)
Edit:
MTV wants to know what we thought about seeing the Twilight cast. Feel free to make a comment. So far most are bad( in regards to the host cutting Rob off)

Sep 8 2008, 04:07 AM
I know what you mean! My friend calls me and tells me that she saw the cast and that the whole time he was in the back and that Cam pulled him to the front and everytime that Rob tried to speak he was cut off by the host. I don't even know who that host is !
So now I'm at a Twilight site and many fans are very mad and start blaming and pointing fingers. One thinks that we're only mad because gorgeous Rob didn't get air time. I disagree. The point of having the cast appear on the VMA's, a very popular awards show, was to help promote the movie. Now it would only be right, natuarlly actually, to have Rob and Kristen speak more than the others. Rob is Edward for the love of Twilight!
I know that the presenters have the screen to read there lines off, but I don't know if it was the host who intentionally cut him off or that's how MTV meant to do.
So even though it isn't Twilight specifically related, do you think that was smart of MTV if it was what they meant? I mean the purpose of having them there is not only has MTV been promoting and broadcasting anything Twilight but they're there to promote.
I think that's stupid and a waste of anticipation. If I knew that was going to happen I would of rather look at pictures than live..
EDIT: by far my favorite comment from that blog was

Yeah, I'd have to say all in all I'm not happy with that host. He was an idiot the entire night. I'm just glad I was able to fast forward through him. I never loved DVR more than in that moment!
I was upset about Rob getting cut off too!! I was like Oh he cut off Rob!! No he didn't!! I was shocked, that really sucked!
After reading the two sites on MTV, it sounds like a lot of people are upset over the host, the VMA's in general and their treament of the Twilight cast!

They cut off Rob at MVA? Grr! No one should have the right to cut off Rob. Who does he think he is? And where can I possible see that clip?
How many people have you introduced/cajoled/coerced in to reading the Twilight saga? And, did they like it?Ohh... surprisingly that's many... First my friend, but we only have the first one in Danish, and she didn't want to bother to read the rest in English... Hmm, my cousin got just as bit as me by it. Louise, my friend. My mom, who didn't want to read the rest in English either. And I have two more friends who have to borrow my books in English... So, so far that's four and two more maybe

How many people have you introduced/cajoled/coerced in to reading the Twilight saga? And, did they like it? Amazingly, a lot of people.
After i discovered it, i forced it upon my best friend. She asked me what it was about, and i answered "Just read the frick'n book!" She read the first and fell in love with it.
I then gave it to my good friend, who is currently as obsessed as me. She nearly cried when i said the movie didn't come out for another two months after America.
I read the books to my younger sister, and she so insanely loves it, it's not funny.
I then got my younger buddies into it. They're currently into Breaking Dawn.
My choir buddie read the first page on a plane ride during one of our choir trips. One of the younger buddies bought the copy in the airport, and long story short, they ended up fighting over it the whole way back to NZ.
All i had to do was mention vampires, and my design buddy read it.
My good other good friend isn't into romance and fluff. I told her it was romantic, and she goes "Oh, don't bother giving it to me, then." I then proceeded to tell her about the insanely hot vampires, and she insisted she read it. I gave it to her, and a week later, she was demanding the second.
All in all, i've converted nine people into loving Twilight.

Weirdly, though, nearly everyone loves Jacob more than Edward, other than me. Maybe New Zealanders like werewolf's better than vampires? We may never know.
I'm sort of sad that we're onto a second thread. Like ... all the mystery of BD is now gone. Ah well. Long Live Twilight!

How many people have you introduced/cajoled/coerced in to reading the Twilight saga? And, did they like it?4 friends. And I`m proud of it.
My friends and I are divided, 3 of them are Team Edward, and 3 of us Team Jacob, so when we go out we are not allowed to talk about the books, because we get into a fight, like we talk about real people, and some of us get offended ...
We went to the seaside when Breaking Dawn was released and none of us read it, so we were not allowed to talk about the books, but if someone mentioned them, that person had to wash the dishes
Does anyone know where can I watch the mtv awards?
edit> I`ve just seen the Twilight cast on MTV awards on youtube, I totally agree that it was really stupid to interupt Rob when he was about to say his part.

Wow, a new and shiny thread for Twilight

.
How many people have you introduced/cajoled/coerced in to reading the Twilight saga? And, did they like it?Well, two om my friends are going to read the books sometime in October (we have some books to read for school, so when they have finished, they will read Twilight)
But it is really difficult to get people to read them. Because when you describe the books for them "it is about a girl who falls in love with a vampire" then people just turn their eyes.
I was introduced to the Saga by Vicki (happy-potter). She had been so nice not to mention that Edward was a vampire, so I was taken by surprise, which was an extraordinary feeling

Surprisingly, it appears that I don't have many friends who are open to read books like these

Sadly, Russell Brand is pretty big in the UK at the moment although we are a bit sick of his ego so I was surprised to see him presenting the VMAs (what's he doing up on his politcal soapbox...idiot!)
. I haven't actually finished watching them yet so I haven't seen anything with the Twilight cast...so what am I doing here? I'm off...oh and yes, the MTV/Twilight collaboration is a part of the promotion of the movie. You can't get a better stage for this type of movie than a channel that is aimed at the target audience.
And to answer my own question. I thnk I have swayed a couple of people, but most notably my non-reader daughter who took Twilight to Ibiza last week, finished in a day and a half forsaking a night a a really big club, came home yesterday and is already half way through New Moon. Yes, she is in love with Edward, but she thinks Jacob is pretty cute too. She also thinks Bella is an annoying emo! She has also spent a great deal of time stealing my pics of Robert Pattinson as Edward and googling the other members of the cast! She.is.addicted!

Ah I only watched the VMAs to see the Twilight cast and I was so dissapointed! When they got up there Rob was in the backroud, so you couldn't even see him, they when he went to speak that guy cut him off! Ah he was really annoying me, he kept going on and on about nothing. I switched off the TV and went on the computer to look at Twilight pics to make me feel better
I have gotten my mom, sister, and grandma into the books. My mom is ubsessed as I am, my sister only read Twilight (the other ones would be too hard for her) My grandma read them all, but she is not as in love with them as me and my mom are. Haha now me and my mom are trying to get hy dad to read them, because he likes the scifi stuff. Then we can be a big Twilight family. Oh and my cousin and her boyfriend read the books and they are ubsessed!

Unfortunately for me, I was only able to get my dad to read the series. He's on BD right now. He says that it is his favorite because its not a gooey and romantic! That's only becuase he's on the part where Bella's having all the trouble with her pregnancy. He just has to wait

! Something etphonehome said, made me think of a new question.
What do you think of Bella? Do you think she is an annoying emo? Do you like her character?Personally, my answer to this question is that I like her character. I can relate to her in tons of ways. I admit that she has her moments, but what girl doesn't? I know I have my share of those whiny moments.
Also, yesterday I was talking to a girl who Team Jacob. She was explaining why she didn't like Edward. She said that he's so perfect, and that he'll just give her up in a second, if she wants Jacob.
I think that his perfection is more endearing, rather than a turn-off! But that's just me!

I love her character because I relate to her in a lot of ways. I think shes such a great character because she is basically like every teenager out there, but she is also different.
I'm re-reading the series now, and like other people of said, it better the second time! I'm only on New Moon and I'm reading slower to take in all the details. I also think its better the second time, because now I know it ends good, and can relax. The whole time I read it the first time through I kept freaking out about Jacob and just hoping he would leave..

Actually today I was reading Eclipse to my friend Etil [I'm mother goose to her; I read to her] and all of a suddne I'm at the part where Bella needs to talk to Jake and my friend who is a first time reader of the series goes "UGH! Bella can never be satisfied sometimesl; Either take the werewolf or vampire!" Although she is Team Edward (: Point is that in the beginning of the series Bella was relatable as the series went on she was all depressed in New Moon and I understand! I just think that she was to greedy and undescive [sp] in Eclipse and sometimes I wanted to slap her. But then again I get the same way with most of the girls in my school. So she's like any other teen like me. *shrugs*

How many people have you introduced/cajoled/coerced in to reading the Twilight saga? And, did they like it? None actually. However My Hubby is going to Iraq this Monday

and I am putting
Twilight and
Half Blood Prince in a secret package for him LMAO. Hopefully..he'll be bored enough to read them.
What do you think of Bella? Do you think she is an annoying emo? Do you like her character? I actually love Bella. I've been through the awkward high school years and looking back...I wish I had found an Edward like she did. I know how it feels to be out of place and have everyone stare at you and talk behind your back cause you're the "new girl". I think Bella is lucky to have such a different life to experience with the Cullens. A place where she actually fits in.
In some instances her character isn't very heathy..as far as being so depressed when Edward leaves her and occasionally flirting with danger....it's not something I'd want teenage girls to think is okay. But lets face it...we're all devastated when broken up with the first special someone.
In some cases I think Bella is an extremely strong young woman. To completely trust a vampire and go through with a pregnancy that could have killed her. And to know exactly how she feels and exactly what she wants and go after it...to me is evidence of an independent, strong woman.

Nicky! I totally agree with you on this point!!! I was starting to get really annoyed with Bella...I wanted her to be with Edward so bad!!! While I was reading New Moon I HAD to look toward to end to see if Edward was back or not. I just couldn't take it. I love Jacob..but things got a little out of hand with him since Edward left in New Moon and I just wish Bella could have made up her mind a lot sooner than she did! Poor edward!!!

To be honest, i actually really Bella's character. She's clumsy, she's awkward, we've all been there (well, i have at least). She was someone i could relate to, basically. She was quite smart and sensitive, and i loved reading how she grew so much to falling in love with Edward.
New Moon, i soft of felt for her. It was really sad, but i didn't really think she was over-emotional. If you think about what she lost, i probably wouldn't act any different.
In Eclipse, she's completely torn. It's hard to make decisions, and Bella has a big one to make. Of course it's not going to be all happy la-di-da, oh yes i'll just take the vampire and be done with it. It was expected for her to be a bit emotional, really.
Overall, i do like Bella's character. Sure, she can be a bit annoying, but it's to be expected really. No one's perfect.

I didn`t like Bella at all from the begining till the end.
She just uses people all the time. She describes her friends from school as boring and stupid but then she spends every day with them, and when she needs something she asks them for help. Yeah, stupid example but it always bothered me.
And the way she treated Jacob, she was always telling herself that she should put some boundaries, but she never did. Why can`t she think and do the same??
And yeah, in Breaking Dawn she was realy really annoying, all proud of herself after she became a vampire, she kept telling that she`s the old Bella, but I couldn`t see anything left...

Yay!!! I love this question!!! I've never liked Bella. She came off as selfish and rude to me in the first book and through the series that was confirmed when she constantly asked Edward to transform her but wouldn't marry him in return. He wanted one thing that she wouldn't do right away. But I think Bella is very annoying. I also think that maybe being around Edward was reason for her to be clumsy and if so than that is very manipulative. So I guess you could say that I don't like Bella very much.

Sep 9 2008, 03:23 PM
Naley and harry_potter_luvr_4life...I really get what you guys are saying. As far as Edward asking her to marry him...the entire time I kept saying...marry him idiot! But when you grow up with parents that a divorced and your mom is a bit flaky...like Bella's mother, well maybe marriage would freak you out. I can understand how Bella would be scared of the idea...but I'd be more scared with losing Edward. I wouldn't have hesitated in the least if Edward asked me.
I also didn't like the way Bella treated Jacob...but then again he had it coming I think. She told him she loved Edward but had feelings for Jacob too. She said she wanted to be friends, but Jacob kept pushing and pushing and pushing. Honestly...I felt bad for Edward. Having to watch all of this. All he wanted was Bella...and he had to keep his cool when Jacob pushed to have her too.

Holy Crow, this thread moves and it is brand new already with two pages...sigh, I must venture in here more often.
What do you think of Bella? Do you think she is an annoying emo? Do you like her character?~This is where I am at with Bella. She was written to be relatable to teenage girls; girls who are not the popular cheerleader or talented athlete but a plain, ordinary girl with average looks, and average smarts and yet, someone extraordinary finds her irrisitable. Isn't that what women want, for someone who is beautiful in our eyes to find our "normalcies" endearing and tantalizing? Stephanie Meyer created a character that appeals to most women...even with all of her indecisiveness and low self esteem issues. Hello, I have been that way as I am sure many of the reader have too.
What annoys me though is that Bella never moves forward from those feelings as a human. As a human she remained feeling unworthy and inferior to Edward despite his many reassurances of his faithfulness, devotion and unwavering love. It wasn't until she was immortal that she embraced her beauty, which is what Edward saw all along. At some point the weak woman syndrome got annoying for me simply because I like to see women pull themselves out of desperate feelings and situations to feel good about themselves and this didn't happen with Bella. Her change only happened as she waited for "fate" or "Edward" to make her immortal.
So I guess I am a bit undecided about if I like or dislike the character.
How many people have you introduced/cajoled/coerced in to reading the Twilight saga? And, did they like it? My husband actually. It all started with Harry Potter. He saw my enthusiasm for the series and thought he would find out why I was all nuts about it so he read the entire series starting this past spring and finishing this August. At the same time he finished Deathly Hallows, I was absorbed in Breaking Dawn. I would shout at the book and say "awww" and he would look at me like I was

. When I finished the book and threw it on the chair declaring my disappointment in the ending, he decided to find out why this book brought out such emotions in me. He got throught chapter one and said this girl with a low self image isn't hitting him. I pulled up the trailer...the one with the ballet scene and we watched it together. He was so excited that he said he will finish Twilight before we see the movie in November. He is halfway done with Book 1.

Alright I totally get everyone when they mention Bella and not wanting to marry right away. But I agree with Dawn on this one. She was scared. We may not know exactly about what but what we do know is that she isn't big on the whole marriage thing and I personally always thought it was because she was afraid that if she married anyone in Forks that she might end up like her parents. This whole didn't want to marry thing may have been a psychological thing. Besides think about she wanted to be a vampire to be with him forever. What is the point of marrying if forever is in a more literal sense in this case. She thought she didn't need to if she's going to be with him for eternity. She's a logical girl.
Now my side that was getting angry when she was finally getting everything she wanted. Of course my inner fan girl loving Team Edward self was all like PLEASE already say yes to him! Marry him! I mean duh I'd marry him in a heartbeat if I could. But yea that's me (:
she constantly asked Edward to transform her but wouldn't marry him in return. He wanted one thing that she wouldn't do right awayLeah you make it sound like they were both minor details and that it's as simple as it looks. You have to think about many things that were at stake at the time.

Naley after I read you're think I sort of chuckled to myself not becuase I thought less of what you wrote but I don't know I found it to humor me a bit (: It's not that Bella thought that her friends were stupid and boring and then she asked for help from them. The people she knew and talked to were somewhat arrogant and so egocentric and shallow. Angela was probably the truest friend that Bella may have made. Besides Bella doesn't relate well to people and she is on a different thinking and beng level you know? And it wasn't like she was using them purposely. I mean she does need to talk and get her way around one way or another. She was still human. Jacob was a completely different story and I'd rather not comment since that's going to start a Team Edward / Team Jacob war

That's your opinion.
Yes I will admit that in some cases Bella really isn't that smart and unrelatiable because there are things that she does that has some of us go OMG! Poeple in real life wouldn't do that. Well I'd like to comment that you may not but someone else might. When you KNOW that the love of your life left you and before he does he tells you "I don't love you" don't you dare tell me that you would be all chill and whatever. Get some ice cream and watch movies and blow my nose in tissues. In Bella's shoes you wouldn't it'd be more. Sorry I just needed to comment

Apologies for the longgg post

Most of you have grasped what I think about Bella. I think that she's a very relatable teenage girl. Nicky I was the same way about people thinking that Bella was overreacting when Edward left her. Nobody would just go back to living after a week if you lost the love of your existence.
On the marriage thing, I have to agree with Bella on that. That's probably because I'm one of the few girls that isn't all boy crazy.(I'm not accusing anyone here though) I'm not the kind of girl who's all that interested in having a boyfriend, or rushing into things, at all. So I can understand where she's coming from when she says that she's not, "that girl". Because I'm not "that girl" either. Besides, if it was me, I'd be way to self-conscious when saying, "Yeah, that's about right. I'm getting married at 18, to the first boy I've ever dated." It just sounds bad!
There is also the part about Renee. I know I wouldn't be rushing to the altar if my parents got a divorce. It sort of is a different situation though. She does know that Edward is her special one.
Plus, people are getting annoyed with her indecisiveness. Don't tell me you've never had a spot where you just keep saying over and over to yourself, "I don't know, I just don't know". Especially with a decision of that magnitude!
Lots of people responded to that question, thanks!

nicky potter, I guess I understand your point, it`s just that I don`t have enough words in my english vocabulary so I can explain what I exactly want to say... It woud be a lot easier for me to talk on my own language.
It`s just that when I was in high school there was one girl who was always hanging out with us, just because she had no other friends, and I knew she wasn`t interested in what we talk, she even thought our subjects are stupid but she continued to be with us. It was really irritating and that reminded me of Bella and how she acts with her school friends.

Wow, a lot of posts have been put up in here!! Let me see if I can add my two cents in here...
I absolutely loved Bella in the first book, Twilight. She was endearing, cute and loveable. Her quirks were amusing and her point of view of falling in love with Edward was not only fun but made me feel like a love sick teenage girl again. That being said..
As the books progressed I found her to be more and more annoying. I hated that she couldn't see that her friendship with Jacob was wrong. I know some you think that it wasn't and that she was just trying to do her best to balance out both, bottom line was this guy was in love with her and he was doing everything he could to break up her and Edward. He did not like her boyfriend and he did not respect their relationship. What kind of friend is that? And don't even get me started on the whole kissing scene in the woods?! How did she justify that?! She just got her boyfriend back and here she is kissing some other dude because he is threatening to kill himself. There is no excuse. She should have been like that is low and if this is the type of person you really are than maybe our friendship isn't worth it. There is no excuse, NONE.
And the marriage thing, I understand everyone's point of view on she is young and she was influenced by her parents' marriage and what others might think. But the thing that I don't get is she was planning on spending her life with him anyway. She was going to move in with him, right? She was going to change into a vampire right? She was going do the things people do, when they get married if you catch my drift, and have kids right?? So they were both going to live a life as though they were husband and wife? What difference does it make if you go in front of priest or whoever, and get in put on paper? I don't understand her thought processes here. She was never planning on leaving him so there should have never been in worry over divorce. They had already decided forever at their young age. Quite frankly, I find turning into a vampire more frightening than getting legally married.
Plus all her other stupid decisions like jumping off the cliff and continuing to see Jacob when she knew it was breaking Edward's heart were selfish and very self-centered things to do. I understand she was young but she was living in a grown up world and making grown up decisions you would think she would have behaved better.
Basically, I don't think she deserved Edward. I think Edward could have done better. I hate saying that but thats how I feel. I know she loved him and I don't doubt that in any way but her actions sometimes told me that she wasn't worthy of him.
Ok, rant done! Who's going to throw tomatoes at me??

hot-for-harry, i agree with you on basically everything you said. No one's pefect, even Bella (especially Bella). She has insecurities, and she has flaws (the world's biggest klutz. And i believe SM once said one of her flaws was her lack of self-knowledge). But that's what makes her a believable character. If Bella was rich, popular and confident, then it'd be no fun reading about her story, because she's the popular one, and gets anything she wants. If nothing bad ever happened to her, and she was perfect in everyway, then Twilight would be meanestly boring.
QUOTE(Nicky)
Yes I will admit that in some cases Bella really isn't that smart and unrelatiable because there are things that she does that has some of us go OMG! Poeple in real life wouldn't do that. Well I'd like to comment that you may not but someone else might.
I agree. Also, i'd like to add that just because it wouldn't happen in real life, doesn't mean it can't like you said. But Twilight isn't reall-life (as much as we'd like it to be). It's fantisy-there's going to be some things that happen in the book, that can't happen in real life. No one has ever had their true-vampire-love say "I don't love you" and leave you. No one could possibly know what that would feel like. Bella handles it in her own way. Might be different for someone else, but as i said-it's not something that'd happen in real life. We don't know.
Few, this is a great question.

What do you think of Bella? Do you think she is an annoying emo? Do you like her character?Well I think books are books and are never completely realistic. Books are written the way they should be, which is not identical to reality. So basically, if you went around and repeated lines from a book to someone, it would seem a bit... exaggerated. I get what you mean, though, just wanted to point that out!
I wouldn't really use the word emo...?

She's a bit insecure and has her flaws, but I think it's pretty... normal. It's not like she has a super huge and obvious self-confidence problem.
If I like her... Ahh. Well I sure can relate to her often. But I admit she had some whiny/immature/manipulatingEdward moments. But she's the main character and I prefer the story from her point of view. Her flaws haven't stopped me from enjoying the book too much for my own good!

lupin<3tonks, the reason she got married is because Edward wanted to, of course, and because he said that
he would bite her only if she married him first. If I'm not mistaken. And I don't think she followed her parents example- actually, she was all against the marriage.
We gots some new pictures! On the guide, I mean. They're not particularly new, just some promo pictures of Carlisle/Esme, James, Lauren and Victoria. Check it out

I have a question that goes along with the current topic of Bella.
What is everyone's most annoying Bella moment in the series? What does everyone think Bella's most endearing moment is?The other thing I was wondering about are the vampire powers. How is it that some have gotten power and others have not? How is it that the ones who have powers have different degrees of them...what I mean is

Kate being able to shock those who touch her yet not be able to project that shock out to hit others?
Okay so that is more than one question...sorry

nevillesgirl, we don`t need to use spoiler warnings anymore, it`s been awhile since BD was released.
What is everyone's most annoying Bella moment in the series?
Ugh, I hated how she reacted when she found out that Jacob imprinted on Nessie. It was a shock I know, and she got over it soon, but it still annoyed me. She knew he had no choice.
What does everyone think Bella's most endearing moment is?
I`ve been re-reading Eclipse, and I really liked the situation when Jake came to her school on motorcyle and she escaped from Alice with him and when to La Push. That really surprised me, in a good way.
And for the third question, I think Edwrad explained it to Bella once, but I honestly don`t remember it.

Oh yeah, I understand that
witherwings. Thats what I'm saying in my post, is that I don't understand why she made such a big deal out of marrying Edward. I didn't understand why she didn't want to go through with it! Do you get what I'm saying now? I knew why she got married, I didn't understand why it took her so long to agree to it.
What is everyone's most annoying Bella moment in the series? Mine would have to be when she kissed Jacob in the woods, when he was threatening to go into battle or whatever.
What does everyone think Bella's most endearing moment is?I would have to say it was when she decided to keep the baby, no matter what would happen to her. I thought it was very sweet and noble of her. One of her finer moments.

Hello everyone (: Really quick I have 2 new Twilight related news : First one
QUOTE
Make sure to tune into the always-entertaining Ellen Degeneres show on Wednesday, September 17th when Stephenie Meyer will be interviewed. You can check show times in your local area right here.
We don't know what she'll be talking about yet, but it's safe to assume that she'll be promoting Twilight to Ellen's audience, who's demographic would definitely have an interest in the series.
If anyone happens to catch that please fill us in what happens! I hope she talks more about Midnight Sun and what happens and I hope Ellen can get the truth from her: Will she or will she not continue Midnight Sun? I need to officially hear it from her.
Second news comes from Twilight Tuesday and it focuses on Peter Facinelli also known as Carlisle

QUOTE
As with every third day of the week, MTV has
updated their site with a new Twilight-related article. This week focuses on the actor who plays Carlisle Cullen:
MTV:
Were you into vampires anyway?Facinelli:
Well, here's an interesting story: About four weeks before the audition process, I was reading a book about vampires in Hollywood through all the ages. Like 50 years of vampires! It was in an office. I was flipping through it, and I thought, "Wow!" I was never a big fan of vampire movies, until I flipped through that book and saw how beautiful they were and the mystery of it all. It's turned into a lot of gore and guts nowadays in a lot of vampire movies, [but] when I read "Twilight," it reminded me of the old movies when vampires were mysterious and had sexual undertones, and it was more of a beautiful vampire tale instead of the horror genre, which I liked. And by the way for any of you that caught the MTV VMA's and noticed that Robert was caught off MTV posted a blog about it;

Thanks
Nicky! Lost of new juicy twilight news we can read about!

I read the blog about the VMA's.
What do you guys think about it, if you were able to watch it? I mean I don't want to open a can of worms that doesnt need to be opened, but I was just curious if you thought it was rude of Brand to do that or do you just not care, like one person said, "Rob is a shy guy anyways he doesnt like the spotlight so its no big deal."?? Personally I didn't like any of the things Russell Brand said that night, so him interrupting Pattinson just made him lose more cool points with me. He was def. in the negatives. Not a good host.

Yep, that is exactly what I expected. I know that they could really adulticize this book if they wanted to but the target audience deserves to be able to see it without a parent approval.
I thought the trailers have done a good job with toning down the violence but yet keeping it interesting. The same goes for the intimacy scenes. We get that just by seeing the way Edward looks at Bella.

Well everyone was right. What do you think?
I think its an appropriate rating as well. The books, from what I understood, were targeted more or less at the teenage group or the high school crowd. Maybe even the middle school age group too so I find PG-13 to be a fitting rating. I mean, if they went along with the book and its details, it shouldn't be catergorized as an adult movie or a R. I think PG might be too low of a rating, because there are some more dangerous scenes and themes that might scare the younger audience.
Moon(I luv you Luna)
Sep 11 2008, 11:50 AM
Haha, PG-13. It's funny, my younger sister is a mega Twilgiht-nut, but she's only 13-years-old, and she's afraid the rating will be too high for her to get in. PG-13 is probably the equivilent of M15 in NZ. Which means we'll have to sneak her in.
I think it's a good rating. Twilight might scare younger people, and most of the target audience wouldn't get to see it if it was any higher.
What is everyone's most annoying Bella moment in the series? Hmmm ... probably when she decided to keep Nessie. I know it was for all the right reasons, but i agreed with Jacob-the thing was killing her, and Bella was being so silly not to realise how much she was hurting everyone else. Edward was kicking himself, Alice had to high away, and she resorted to using Rosalie to protect her. Throughout the entire Book 2, i just wanted to slap her.
What does everyone think Bella's most endearing moment is? I think probably in Twilight, when she thought James had her mother, and she went to go save her. It was very self-sacrificing of her to basically get herself killed for her mother. I was actually quite proud of her.

Scene of sensuality! *squeals* Hahaha, I'm guessing that's the bit on the bed. The one Rob fell off while shooting. But I think it's a prefectly appropriate rating. This one is more innocent than all the others, and I truly don't believe it should be higher than PG-13. Lower either.... I mean it's a romantic vampire story...

My sister just *thinks* and says she's obsessed and in love with Edward (she's the shallowest little monster I've ever met) but she's only read about half of Twilight and probably didn't get most of it.

She *apparently* wants to see it as much as me, though, (not that it's possible) so I guess she will. I see it first though. She's allowed to see PG-13 movies sometimes, depending on the movie.

Anyway, enough about my, erm, family life.
What is everyone's most annoying Bella moment in the series?Chapter 24, I think, Compromise, in Eclipse. She just... gah. Got on my nerves. Especially when Edward says 'we're not having this discussion', and she's all like 'I say we are'.

Is it just me or does she seem to manipulate him sometimes?
I get all these weird coincidences that are Twilight related... Like once my friend was saying Kristen Stewart looked like Missy Peregrym, and then the other day I was looking for someone who looked like Melanie from The Host and Missy Peregrym was my choice.

Also, my friend was saying 'the guy in Never Back Down' was hot, and turns out it was Cam Gigandet. I couldn't help but agree with her.

And then, of course, when I saw the Robert Pattinson twin in a hotel in India. How very random. I tell you, though, he was just like him... *starts long blabla*
lupin<3tonks, I think mostly she was against it because she didn't want to be 'that girl' who got married so young and whatever else she said. And we saw, too, how people automatically skip to the conclusion that she was pregnant. She might as well have said she was, though.

Witherwings, I get those two confused all the time! I always have to say..its the one in
Stick It or the one from
The messengers, LoL. They do kind of look alike!!

Ok I don't have a lot of Twilight related moments but I do have two:
1) This is really a sad story at least for me it is. I went to the mall yesterday and decided to get me that Twilight shirt I wanted (the one that says on the back "The forbidden fruit is always the sweetest") and I get in Hot Topic and guess what?? They didn't have the shirt it my size!!!

*everyone gasp in horror!!!* I know! I know! I was sad, so I ended up buying a Boondocks Saint shirt instead...
2)This one is good very funny....So I'm in a group at school working on a project and we all decided to use my laptop for typing the paper on. Well my back drop is...surprise! Rob Pattinson! So one of the older ladies in my group scoots up next to me in her rolly chair and sees him and says "awe is that your boyfriend? He is cute!!" And I started shaking my head no and giggling! I was like "
no that is not my boyfriend unfortuntely. He's a star in a movie thats about to come out"...and she was like "I was about to ask if you would share him" and I replied "No No, if Rob was my boyfriend there would be no sharing..none at all!!!"
It was funny!

What is everyone's most annoying Bella moment in the series?I'd have to say that for me Bella's most annoying moment was right after she kissed Jacob, and was lying on the floor when Edward came in. I felt that she was acting like a five year old.

And then to try to get Edward to ..... well ... you know.. Was sick. I felt Edward was too nice to her, in his reasoning for not wanting to do it then.
What does everyone think Bella's most endearing moment is?I'd have to say my favorite moment would be when she woke up after their first night together. How ecstatic and new everything was to her(until she saw that Edward was upset).
As for a Twilight related moment that I have: All I can say is that I am constantly on the lookout for any
Cullen cars on the highway. This morning... I got lucky! I saw a silver volvo. I immediately thought of *Edward*

What is everyone's most annoying Bella moment in the series?
The same as everyone else's. I thought she was an idiot after she kissed Jacob and then trying to make herself feel better by trying it on with Edward, well that was unforgivable.m I totally understood Edward's reluctance. He was right on when he said he didn't want that to happen as a reaction to Jacob Black.
What does everyone think Bella's most endearing moment is?
When she was sat in the bathroom on Esme's Island. I felt her nerves for her. He was outside and she was wandering what to do...and what to wear! She was totally vulnerable then and I liked that about her after everything.
We play silver volvo....we used to play spot the yellow car (there aren't too many around) when on car journey's but now it's spot the silver volvo!

Ah, I kind of thought Twilight would be PG-13

I can't wait to see it, I'm super exicted.
What is everyone's most annoying Bella moment in the series?Uhm, honestly I despise Bella's personality. I mean, I can relate to her in the awkward, shy, clumsy teenager, but she's so whiney all the time. So, I have to say 90% of the time she's annoying, espically when something doesn't go her own way.
(Honestly, a good part of the reason I read the series was because Alice is such a fun character, I wanted to read about her more, and learn more about her.)
What does everyone think Bella's most endearing moment is?I think that my favorite moment was in Twilight when she had to leave Charlie to escape James, and to keep him safe. Just, I completly understood why she left, and why she said the things to Charlie. I don't agree with it, but I think that Stephanie wrote the scene very well, even if it was a rotten thing to do.

To be honest i really liked the sene just after Bella kissed Jacob. I kind of felt she'd been getting off too easily, still being friends with Jacob and all that, and now she was suffering. I know, i sound so mean.
This reminds me of a question:
Did you think Bella got off too easily with her happily ever after at the end of Breaking Dawn? For me, sure she went through a lot, but i was really disappointed to see she wasn't like a normal newborn. I was looking forward to BloodCrazed!Bella, and i didn't get to see it. I sort of see it like ... she got Edward, she got Jacob, she got Nessie and no one died (besides Irina) in the end. And i don't think she really suffered enough.
Which sounds horrible i know.
I know she fought for Nessie from the begining, but she wasn't thinking about anyone else at that point. She didnt even stop to consider what she was doing to Edward, Alice, Jacob and the rest of them. She just ran straight to Rosalie and got what she wanted. I felt kind of annoyed that basically everything works out for her.
I don't know if i made any sense, but hopefully i did.

I really should answer these questions, but this article made me laugh so much... I had to share. Apparently, Rupert Grint loves
Twilight!"Interrupted by his phone ringing, Rupert quickly answered it as we waited around. After replying to the text message, we found out that Rupert recently lost a bet to actor Robert Pattinson, who was once part of the Harry Potter cast in a previous film, and insisted that Rupert read the bestselling book. Rupert is now "stuck reading 'Twilight'" and that Rob was just texting him to see how far along he was getting.
Rupert admitted he had only read the first five chapters of the bestselling book and we just informed him that there were three more books in the series. "No, really, are you serious? I thought there was just this one book?" Only now realizing he has to read three more, Rupert took his phone out and sent another message to Rob. By the looks of things, we can bet it wasn't a very pleasant message"
Ahhh I think that it's so adorable that they still talk to each other.
The whole article is
here.

Sep 13 2008, 11:30 PM
That is very cool that they still talk to each. Points for Rob since he got Rubert to read the series! I wonder what the bet was?

That would be interesting to know!
As for the question!
Did you think Bella got off too easily with her happily ever after at the end of Breaking Dawn? I don't think Bella got off too easily, because I'm sure that just thinking that this would be the end of everyone you loved, or taking yourself away from your daughter was probably very painful. I'm a happy ending girl so I'm so incredibly glad that only Irena died. All of the nights that I spent thinking, what if she ends up with Jacob? Or what if she dies? What if Edward dies? All those times I got worried about BD for thinking about what could've happened in the book. I loved the ending, and don't think Bella got off too easily!
When somebody came up with the question, What was Bella's most endearing moment? it made me think of another question!
What does everyone think Edward's most endearing moment is?I had an answer to this question but I forgot it, oops! I'll be back if I can think of the question!
Oh and I purposely didn't put what was Edwards most annoying moment because I think that everything he does is sweet! (With the exception of leaving her in New Moon. But I know that he was doing that for her safety.)

I just bought Eclipse, and I have a question. It might be stupid, but because it was awhile since I read Twilight, and I was wondering how Carlisle saved Edward as a baby, if he didn't become a vampire until he was seventeen?
Honeybee
Sep 14 2008, 02:06 AM
Snapefan21,Carlisle didn't save Edward as a baby. He came across Edward at the hospital he worked at. Edward( then 17) and his mother were dying and Edward's mother asked Carlisle to do whatever he could to save him.
Did you think Bella got off too easily with her happily ever after at the end of Breaking Dawn? I agree with
hot-for-harry, that Bella had a lot to deal with emotionally, and that as we all know is enough stress on its own. Just the thought of having to plan what will happen to your child if something happens to you is excruciating. I can't even imagine having to do something like that......
What does everyone think Edward's most endearing moment is?Wow... this is a tough question. I'd have to say that it is when he is fixing to expose vampires in Volterra(sp?) and Bella runs into him to stop him and he says "Amazing... Carlisle was right." How he realized that he does have a soul. I can just picture him in all of his beauty...... how I wish I was Bella!!

Potter fans will recall that this is where the Order of the Phoenix United States premiere happened in July 2007. It's a perfect location for movies with large amounts of fans.

I haven't seen the Twilight sweatshirt yet! Wow! Twilight's become so big!
Today, I saw what would have been the perfect EJ in BD. He had green eyes, rosy cheeks, and the right color hair. He was soo cute! The way Bella described him fits this little boy's description perfectly.
Also, when I read BD, and it mentioned how Renesmee looks, I was like, "Oh my gosh, my second cousin would've made the perfect Renesmee." She has brown eyes, curly hair, and she is the cutest thing you will ever lay your eyes on. Sometimes when I think of my second cousin, I'll think of her as Renesmee, and then I'll think,"Oh yeah, that's not her name."
Seriously though, if they make the movie BD, I would've totally said she should audition.(Or whatever people that young do to get into a movie) But I guess she'll be older then.

I think SM once mentioned in the FAQ of BD on her website, that she thinks it might be impossible to film BD into a movie, because of Resemee. She said-well, actually, here's the quote:
QUOTE
When I said that Breaking Dawn might be impossible to film, it's because of Renesmee. You can do almost anything with CGI these days—realistic dragons and dinosaurs and endless amounts of nonexistent creatures that blend right in with the real elements. Some of them look so real you forget they're not. However, the one thing that I've never seen is a CGI human being who truly looks real. An actress can't play Renesmee, at least not when she's a few days old; she's the size of a baby, but her expressions are totally controlled and aware. She would have to be a construct, and CGI isn't quite there yet. Of course, they develop amazing new technologies everyday, and we've got a little time left.
So i'm not sure what they're going to do about that, but i've seen lot's of picture's of adorable Nessie's. As much as i really didn't like that story-line, Nessie's kind of grown on me. Cant help it, she's really cute.
You guys are lucky, you can buy Twilight t-shirt's and all sorts. I'd buy one off a website or something, but they don't ship to NZ.

I'll just have to print out a picture and pin it to a t-shirt, lol.
And aw, i missed Bella's birthday! Ah well, Happy Belated Birthday Bella!
