I know I'm obsessed with Harry Potter when the thing that I do when I get really bored and have absolutely nothing to do is write the entire script to the Harry Potter films. Not screen play, but what the characters say, word for word, typing it in a document. Done that for the first four, working on the fifth.

But I'm sure I'm not the only one.......

Aubrey, that is indeed impressive. As for me, I know I am obsessed because I did not go to sleep at all last night. Perusing the VTM forums seemed more important.

I guess I must be obsessed with Harry potter ~ I have read the books SO many times. I've probably read GoF about 10 times (I've lost count!) I reread the whole series every time a new book comes out! in fact, i'm reading through them now, but only for the first time since DH came out. So i have only read that once.

I think you also know you are obsessed with HP when a) your family know what film you're watching or what website you're on before they even see (HP by the way!) you find yourself quoting from harry potter, or just talking about some obscure mentioning in the books , and nobody knows what you are on about! (which i admit i have been known to do!)

I am obsessed and I know it

My friends all call me a nerd or a freak becasue i spend 90% of my time talking about HP related things and spend the other 10% of the time hoping for someone to bring HP up so i can talk about it more.

I have billions of pictures of the HP cast all over my computer and my phone.

I start accusing people of being muggles or squibs when im angry (they just laugh and say WOW! REAL INSULT ).

My nan had *accidently* locked me out of the house so i tried unlocking it used various spells and a stick i found on the floor.

I spend most of my time now staying up until early hours of the morning surfing the VTM forums.

I try and convice my friends to join VTM, but most of them dnt like HP (freaks! )

When im 18 im planning to go to England to find Rupert Grint and convice him to marry me im sorry but if thats not obsessed what is

Since so many people obsessed i think it is safe to say that Harry Potter is the best Childrens Fiction ever...i had a dream again last night it was that i am a muggle and i allow the trio to practice in my large apartment and it was quite fun...

Oh yes. My little bro, Master of Death is mental now. 24/7 its Harry Potter now. hehe. He is always near the comp, reading fanfics, and then reading the books over and over again. Neither my bro nor am I crazy fans of the movies. Its not we hate it, but the books are sensational. hehe. Anyhow I also read Harry Potter everynite. Bits and pieces. Veritaserum has definetly brought Harry Potter back to our life.

I'm not a superfan, I just love forums.. that's why I'm more than twice on this forum. I've seen all the movies and almost all the books. I was a superfan; I had real hogwartscandy, notebooks, carts etc. So what makes you a superfan [according to me]:

- You must have read all the books
- You must have seen all the movies
- You can hardly talk about anything else
- When you're home you're reading the books, watching the movies or you're doing whatever is related to harry potter [like playing with friends that you're in Hogwarts and in trouble and stuff like that *uche*]

1. you walk into an ordinary muggle shop, see a poster about jeans, take one look at the symbol and begin to yell"hey mom look- it's the deathly hallows" and your mother agrees with you
2. you and your mother have an actual discussion about how to floo without a-getting covered in soot and b-nobody seeing you land sprawled out like a lunatic

3. you called you nephew a muggle and he cried untill his mother made you take it back

4. your mother will occasionally call you dobby

5. you screamed "i'm free" the last time you were told to do the laundry

6.when you and your friends hang out you tell people it is a secret meeting of the DA, they ask to join.

7. the last time you babysat, your charges called you umbridge when you made them go to bed.

*When asked what your favorite sport is you say Quidditch

*When you get upset in the theatre watching the 5th movie because Sirius (Rest in Peace) wasn't killed right.

*When you get mad at your friend for laughing when Sirius was killed.

*When you wait every day with the window open for an owl to come gliding in with your letter.

*When a bit of you die when you don't get said letter.

*Some of the people that you consider your best friends are people you met on Harry Potter fansites.
*You met your boyfriend on an HP fansite
*You quote lines from HP in conversation with your friends and then get stared at like you're crazy.
*You get the extra credit question on your history final right (What is the famous line from FDR's inaugural address?) correct, not because FDR said it, but because DD said it. (in case anybody is wondering the line is "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.")
*You can actually quote lines from the books from memory to prove your point in a debate on HP forums.
*You sit on this site posting here instead of doing the million other things you should probably be doing.

Ok off to do all of those...actually probably off to work on my fanfic instead but...*shrugs*

~You can recite all of the currently out Harry Potter movies by memory (at camp, some kids asked me to do the sorcerer's stone, and I figured out I can do all the movies, starting from just about any point. Man, don't I need to get a life?)
~Instead of wearing a jacket, some days you wear Harry Potter robes to school.
~The only thing on your walls are posters/ printouts of Harry Potter
~Your wristwatch has Harry, Ron, and Hermione on it
~You totally freak out when you loose the said watch (which has happened somewhere around a dozen times)
~You have a stuffed Hedwig that perches on your shoulder when you read
~You make a ceramic dragon on vacation and name it Norbert
~Your math teacher starts humming the theme music from the Sorcerer's Stone Movie, and you pick out the tune and quietly hum along. (especially when you don't like said math teacher)

You know when you're addicted to Harry Potter when...

1. You have read the books and seen the films more than 3 times.
2. You go on vacation and have no fun because you can't be on VTM.
3. Have a Harry Potter calender.
4. Want to go on a date with one of the actors.
5. You have every item associated with Harry Potter possible.
6. Can answer every Harry Potter trivia question ever thought of.

When you dream that you are in a relationship with one or more of the characters weither at the same time or not you know you are obsessed. Also when you out Potter a 39 year old women and you're 13 you know that you are obsessed.



I'm guilty of these three. I'm going to see HBP the day it comes out with my mom, her friends and myself. They are taking me out of school to see it and even though it's in the middle of a mall i'm taking robes and a witches hat.

I can also identify the Marauders out of the cool guys. The tallest is James, the blonde is Sirius, the quite one is Lupin, and the annoying one is Wormtail.

I pretty much do spend my entire summer on this site.

You get jealous when you see in the 'Who is your boyfriend/girlfriend at Hogwarts' quiz that someone else has been assigned to yours, because you feel that you should be the only person in said characters heart and they would never cheat on you or break up with you! Besides that, you've already started making wedding plans! (No, I don't really, but it would be funny)

You long to have an owl for a pet. (Yes, an owl would be fabulous!)

You spend endless hours trying to turn yourself into an animal. (No, I don't do that)

You take your audio books with you to listen to while at work and you hope that no one will sit by you so you don't have to feel like you need to make conversation, even though you've already listened to each one at least 20 times, and have read them another 20. Someone you know to be a non-Potterhead shows some interest in Harry Potter and you become extremely excited like you've just recruited them.

The moments you enjoy most are spent curled up on the couch reading an HP book.

When you can't count on one hand how many times you've read each book.

When you have that strong sense of hope that a character will make it when you know they're going to die, although you've watched/read it millions of times.
