I've been slacking lately, but I have good reason ! I've been working on all of the contests that VTM is having this month: Hermione's Halloween costume, the Random House Points Hogwarts Halloween comic strip, and the October one-shot fanfiction contest ! Anyhow, I'll start with the questions I've missed so far.

How would things turn out if it was Harry and Hermione?

I have no idea. They'd have kids with brown hair and green eyes ? *laughs* (DeSs, we had this conversation before didn't we ? I think they would have worked out just as well as Hermione and Ron do, except they would probably be more protective and shielding to their children due to fame. I think Ron is a better choice for her though, as she needs someone laid back and not quite as emotional as Harry is. Harry's anger is vicious and bottled up, but Ron's anger is kind of childish and goofy, so I think it would be easier to handle than Harry's. I don't know if I'm making any sense. Hermione understands Harry just as much as Ginny does I think, and probably even more so since she has been there from the begining supporting him even when he did not support her back. She's just closer to him.


Since we don't know much after the epilogue just very little, how different as an adult has Hermione changed since being married with Ron?

I don't think the marriage to Ron is what would change her. So my answer would have to be not much. She's known Ron for a long time and I don't really think it has changed her too much, but more like she has just grown up exposed to and experiencing different views and situations. I suppose if anything changed it would be her learning to just "let go", and I mean that for different things such as letting go of her insecurities, letting go of her annoyance over small things, letting go of that tight grip she has on her high standards. I'm sure she is a much more relaxed person as an adult in a marriage to Ickle-Ronniekins. Really, this pairing just keeps growing on me. *I was an avid H/Hr shipper* I think having children with Ron would definitely change her more than just being with Ron !

How different would it have been with Harry?

How do you think Hermione got along with her in-laws. Mrs. Weasley can be nosey and a bit pushy when it comes to her kids. Do Hermione and Ginny still have a strong friendship?

This question had me giggling my socks off ! Sadiness' answer was great and just imagining Hermione and Molly butting heads amuses me. I think Hermione and Mrs. Weasley got along well enough except when it came to certain familial aspects. I could see Mrs. Weasley being nosy and overbearing and commanding about how Hermione should raise her children and making snide comments about a mother staying home to care for her children ! Hermione would just have to pull out a spoon and thwap the woman with it. I don't think Hermione would like to be told what to do, but I could definitely see her turning to the woman for help at some points. I don't think their relationship would be strained at all just that at some points I'm sure Molly would sound like a broken record to Hermione. I do think Hermione and Ginny's relationship would have grown much stronger than it had been. I can see them huddled together sending covert glares at Molly when she has annoyed them over their child rearing-skills.

If you were Hermione's bridesmaid/maid of honor in her wedding, how would your bridesmaid-speech to her be???

"It's about time ! Bets were being placed as early as 2nd year for when the two of you would finally get together. Took a lot longer than we all expected, but then sometimes the heart see what the eyes cannot. Ron's a good man, and I wish you the best of luck in whatever endeavors you two find yourselves partaking in in the future. Congratulations and I expect to be a godmother! *Grin&Wink*"

Er, kind of cheesy, I really had no idea what to say. Those types of things would probably make me uncomforatble, so I'd try to be funny *I think I just had a big Fail.*

1) Write a descriptive essay (around 100-150 words *or longer if you want but not super long!*) describing Hermione's Halloween costume for this year's Halloween Ball (this is just for your setting and why she is dressing up, lol !)
2) Draw Hermione dressed up in a costume for this year's Halloween Ball and post it as a link (because it will be too big as an image I should think...).

You may submit both, or choose one of the two. You have until the end of October to submit it. DeSs, Sadie, BRoyals and I will be the judges for the contest, and the winner will recieve an automatic nomination/vote for this months Hermione-ette.

I can picture Ron screwing up his first meeting with Hermione's parents. He'll be so fascinated with all the muggle things in their house that he'll probably forget all about them... I can picture him standing in the kitchen playing with all of the electronic devices until the house burns down!!

However I do think that Mr. and Mrs. Granger seem like sensible persons that will be very kind to Ron and respect him. I don't think Mr. Granger will find himself a haystack and chase Ron away! I think they'll really like him and his sense of humour.

I don't know. A waltz? Or maybe some cheesy love song... I can't really think of anything specific though.. *tosses the question to the next person to post*

I'l probably try to be funny too... Unfortunately I have, according to my friends that is, the worst humour ever invented.. So I can picture myself saying a joke and then there is only me that is laughing of it

Once Hermione told them she was dating Ron, I'm sure they thought it was nice but they had to meet him. After all Hermione is their little girl.

I think they probably thought that Ron was different. And I don't mean wizard different. Ron has that awkward facial expression that he uses when he's uncomfortable. I think it took a while for Ron to feel normal around them. Hermione's parents are both dentists, and to me they would seem to be square people.

I'm sure they wanted to know all about Ron's future. And size him up to make sure he is right for their daughter. But once Ron gets over the awkwardness, I think the meeting would go pretty well. I can see Ron make lots of jokes and everyone laughing and falling into a normalcy.

These are two similar questions so I will answer them together. I, personally, can't see Harry and Hermione happening, but for the question's sake, I think that they would be fine together. They might not have been as fitting or compatible, but they might have worked out. I am a loyal R/Hr shipper though, so my answer might seem a little weird.

I think that their friendship would have only been strengthened, now that they are all in-laws. Mrs. Weasley might be a bit more so, but the connection would never the less be strong.

As for the question, I don't think her parents took it as hard as people might think. Because they met Mr. Weasley in Diagon Alley and they seemed to get along with him just fine.

Harry and Hermione would probably be happy with each other, but they don't click as well as Hermione does with Ron. Plus, they wouldn't be able to bring out the best in each other. I believe that people who have true love just know the things that will make each other do the best they're capable of. So if it'd been Harry and Hermione, I think it wouldn't have been as pure of a relationship.

I imagine she probably would've told them about Ron, when first brought him over. I can imagine who coming in with Ron at her side, and saying, "Mom, dad, this is my boyfriend." The first meeting would probably go as most muggle people's do. Awkward for the boyfriend, the dad's getting all serious, the girlfriend's embarrassed, and the mom is pretty much staying silent. Ron probably would've embarrassed himself a couple of times, not knowing the proper muggle etiquette. That is how I imagined their first meeting going down.

Well, I'm thinking that Ron might've been kicked out of the picture, actually. I mean, popular, important Harry, and super-smart Hermione. I think that he might've gotten jealous and "ran away" if you know what I mean! I can't imagine a H/Hr relationship, though. It's always been Ron and Hermione to me.

Probably the whole cliche thing. Dad getting serious and saying "Now you take care of my girl, you hear? Have her back by 8:00 sharp." and Mom running around snapping as many pictures as possible. And Ron getting worried and thinking "Oh, my goodness. I'd better get Hermione home on time. What if Mr. Granger pulls out a shotgun?". And then Hermione getting embarrassed and saying "Mom, can I go now?". Yeah. Predictable muggles, right?

Yes, we have!! Go, go, bushy, red-haired! I suppose I have to agree in that Hermione understands Harry at deep, but anyway, I will never be able to picture them together. Ron is more her kind, I mean, just because you look perfect at someone else's eyes doesn't mean that you are ( jaguar ...) And yes, Ron is easier to handle, and I bet even more when he's in love; and Hermione is perfect for him to make him grow, I mean ... she made him grow! And we spotted that in DH.

I couldn't have express it better. Yes, I reckon it was a mutual growing up, she makes him more mature and he makes her more relaxed. I remember when they stole eggs and bread from that farm, that Ron says " 'elax, 'emione!" I bet she changed for good and, still being responsible, just let go of those things that made her insecure and over bossy.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was going to say. I'm sure she relaxed a lot more in her adult life. So ihkny, you hit it right on the nose.

I don't think they'd be happy together. They were much better as just friends. I think if they got married it would have ruined their friendship. Harry's too.........oh what's the word? Emotional I guess. Ron is more laid back and doesn't worry so much. Hermione and Harry worrying together wouldn't have been a great combination. I always wanted Hermione and Ron together and I think they're prefect for each other. They're both different from each other and that's what makes them a perfect match.

Yay!! Sister you are thinking more like me everyday! *cough cough* just kidding! I'm sure she's going to have a horrified look on her face when she reads this! LoL. We use to disagree on this issue everytime it came up, I was always for Hermione and Ron- and she was always for Hermione and Harry! But oh how the tables have turned! They are the cutest couple, next to Tonks and Lupin that is!

Like everyone else has said, I agree with my sister. When I was thinking about women (especially ones that I know) who have become mothers and get married they probably either get really uptight and stressed (I'll be one of these haha) or they become more laid back and as Kristie says, learned to let go of themselves. I think when you get married you tend to grow up more because you have this responsiblity of not only taking care of yourself but taking care of someone else too. But Hermione already was a responsible person as a teenager so marriage wouldn't have changed anything for her in that perspective.

Maybe she became a more loveable person. You know what I mean? I know at times Hermione can be emotional, but for the most part she was very well guarded with her feelings, especially those she had for Ron. Maybe afer marriage she was able to show emotions a little bit more easily.

I like what hot-for-harry said about if two people are in a relationship they should bring out the best in each other...and I think Harry and Hermione would have done for one another but you also have to bring out some sort of fire in the other person too. You saw how Ron and Hermione were together! They were like cats & dogs! They acted childish and were always mad at one another and just were acting like two people in love. I've always believed that opposites attract, and even though when these two were mad at each other they were fighting like best of them, it was when they were loving one another that really counts. They saw something in the other that most wouldn't have been able to see and thats what they fell in love with. Hermione cared deeply for others and was extremely smart and I think thats what attracted Ron. Ron was silly and aloof and I think thats what attracted Hermione.

Had this been Hermione and Harry, what opposite attraction would they have? They both are serious. They both are caregivers. They both are extremely smart. They both are responsible. Where are they different? Where would the chemistry come into play? I don't think there would have been any, hence if they were together I don't think it would have lasted long and they both probabaly would have been saying to themselves "What was I thinking?!"

I don't think they would have ever gotten to this stage if they were to get into a relationship. But for the sake of the question, I think their marriage would definitely be lacking something. I think it would probably would have been boring, and even though they would fight, I doubt the making up part would have happened as often. They are better off as friends.

As far as your animal goes I seriously don't think you should be a gator...thats not your personality. You have the personality more of a horse, cat, or hippogriff! And yes it really does show how much like Hermione you are. My cousin, LeoTheLionness1986, tells me you are hilarious and are seriously like Hermione like no one would believe and evidently you are the human HP encyclodiea!

Hiya everyone! I just read the last few posts and saw that people are choosing animals?!?! So, do you think I should be a lemur or a horse? I need my fellow Hermione-addicted people's opinions before I pm nicky. Now...

Well, I'm not sure what, but did Hermione have a cat or something? I don't think so. But I'm still going to say a cat, because she probably still has some catlike traits from when she took Polyjuice potion in 2nd year...

I think Hermione would have liked board games, but ones that make you think a lot(and i mean A LOT!!!!) I think Hermione would have also been interested in hmmm... I'll come back to that later.

For some reason I feel as if Hermione would be something calm and small yet ferocious. I mean she's not the one to be violent but when she wants to she can be. So I was thinking maybe a cheetah.(?) Random I know. Or some animal that's smart but not weak either. I don't know she may be a phoenix as well. Then yet again it's those that we never expect are the ones that suprise. So Hermione is a mystery.

Like mentioned board games would be something fun that she can do. I mean sure she can do those strategic games that make you think but then again we can always assume that of her. I'd really like to join this fan club, I love Hermione. I think I see a bit of myself in her...

Anyway, I think that if Hermione could choose her own Animagus, she would choose... a cat or owl. A cat for all the reasons you guys said, the cat like qualities, the sleekness and stylishness, but I also think it would suit because of the smug 'I know something you don't know' manner that cats always have, and the way that one minute they're cute and docile, contentedly purring on your lap, the next they're hissing like crazy with their claws out. And when a cat savages someone, you can't help but think 'Blimey, I didn't know they had it in them.'

As for an owl, owls are typically associated with knowledge, and - because the owl is the patron animal of Athena, a goddess who was fierce on the battlefield - bravery. The owl can also be quite savage, despite the fact that they look so peaceful.

I can totally see Hermione reading mystery books. Lol. But, is it just me, or can you see her reading sci-fi and making a list of all the reasons that the theories in it would go wrong? I also see her as a Romance girl, because she seems like the kind of person who would secretly fantasize about her prince charming.

I agree in a cat, but also thing it could have been any other earthy animal: she never was fond to fly, and I don't reckon she'd like to swim either. Yes, a cat or any feline, since they're very independents, stylish without meaning, smart, home-fonds (well, I mean, they don't jsut run away like dogs) and all.

I think she would be secretly fond of romantic novels. We were just imagining she could have been the kind of reading under the sheets, at dead of night *chuckle* And also adventure books and worthy books. I don't think she would have like any text book; I mean, any book about magic would be interesting for me, even History! But I can't pisture her reading History of England, for example.

Nervous, definately. I'm sure she knows that she would do well, but really, I think that she would start to doubt herself. By the end of the day, though, I'm pretty sure she'd be confident in what she is expected to do, but not to the point of over-confidence. She's a very modest girl, based on my opinions.

I have to agree with cat. She is cunning and intelligent, and beautiful, just like a cat! I can't really think of much else to say about that... Hmmmm... Is that saying something?

I can not picture her as someone into romance! I can actually see her getting into fantasy (like Harry Potter- go figure- and Twilight). I can also see her reading historical fiction. Other than that, I think she kept to the textbooks.

I think she's be into mysteries. Something she'd read and try to figure out what would happen before she read it. I can see her getting really into them and walking around reasoning with the possibilities until she solved it.

I think she'd be nervous and excited at the same time, kind of like her first day at Hogwarts. But I'm sure once she started she'd be very confident and do really well.

I think she would be extremely nervous deep down and probably be a big ball of nerves on her first day, but I think Hermione is the type of person that wouldn't let that show. On the outside she would want others to see her has being confident and up to the task of whatever her job would be. She would seem like the type that would not want to show weakness in any way!

Ooh, you're talking about drinks! I'm not very fond of them, but I like very much daiquiris! And I haven't tried many others, since you've got to pay for them and never found anybody who wanted to share with me I've tried strawberry and peaches daiquiris, then Speed (don't know if you know it) with Vodka (eew, I don't like it), Speed with melon (nice), champagne, beer, wine, Gancia with Sprite and Fernet with Coke, but I don't like any of them. I do like cider in Christmas, even more if it's in a pineapple

Back to the topic, I honestly don't think Hermione would like to read Twilight (don't kill me fans ... I'll try to see the movie, though. But another day, not in my b-day) or Harry Potter, since I can't picture her like a person fond of fantasy. I rather see her reading classics, both Muggle classics (Shakespeare, Wilde, Dickens, Twain, and every classic you can list) and wizarding classics (the anonimus "Hairy snout, human heart", "Quidditch through the ages", "Dreadful Denizens of the Deep", all the Gilderoy Lockhart's, "Little people. big plans", and all of that kind ... oh, gosh, I wanna have them all!) And maybe for 'romantics', I mean classical romantics, like Romeo and Juliet. I see that you take Hermione as a cold-brained girl who just likes reading bored things, but she's also a girl, and a very sensitive girl, and I bet she's always been a bit romantic. Remember she was the one always giving romantic advices, and day-dreaming in silence, and crying. I don't want you to picture her a silly creature like Lavender Brown, because there're plenty ways of being romantic and I personally believe that a person who tried to show his/her romantic side too openly has the same of romantic of a lobalug, but I wouldn't like you to think of her like a cold-hearted girl either

I agree with you, dewet_pdw88, but I also think she would be much more confident and not so bossy as she was when she first came to Hogwarts, besides people must have to respect her a lot after being part of the war against Voldemort.

How do you imagine her on her first day of work?

I can see her being confident and proud. She would march stright in and take her seat. She would work doubletime and overtime, getting more work done than anyone. If she has any nervousness, it wouldn't show.
