He knew tonight he’d have to do it. As much as it hurt, it had to be done. His heart skipped a beat as he waited for her in their usual spot for the last time. Leaning against a wall he listened into the cold corridor, the sound of footsteps started to get louder and Severus took a breath.
“Severus” came a quite voice
“Look before you start, what I did to potter and black today was there own doing”
“You really hurt him Severus, he’s been up the hospital wing all day, I’ve just come from there—“
“Which one? Potter? Well he deserved it Evens, I wish I’d got black as bad too.” Snape spat.
“Severus, don’t say that, you really hurt him. I was down there all day, I missed most of my classers to see if he was ok, I felt awful”
“So that’s why you weren’t in Potions, you where with Baby Potter who cant even handle and Broom up his butt. I don’t know why you just don’t date him, you know you have to by the end of the year, that’s how it goes, we’ve seen it Remember” Severus said sarcastically trying to been as mean as he could to her.
“Why you being such a git with me? I know how it goes but I can still have my freedom until then Severus, I can still have you until then” Lilly said more quietly, she knew what the future held for her, they both did.
“There’s no point Evens. We weren’t supposed to see the future, it was a mistake, but we did see it and we must follow it, its destiny. You marry James, I become a death eater and then the boy comes”
“Severus please…”
“Don’t please me Lily, that’s how it goes, that’s how it has to go”
“You and your theories Snape, its ridiculous. What if we where shown it to change it, what if it’s you and me who are destine to be? Severus please”
“NO EVENS you’ll love James, you will. Your smarter then that Lily Evens, you know not to take anything as a coincidence, you know how it has to be, and it’s the only way”
“Severus please, just listen to me”
Severus Snape looked at the redhead.
“Lily, I don’t love you, I don’t want anything more to do with you. It was just a bit of fun I thought it was for you too I didn’t mean for it to last so long. Look just go back to your silly Gryffindor ways and get on with your life” Snape spat.
“Your just saying that, I know you are”
“Maybe I am, maybe am not…” Snape said with a little smirk
“Severus I know you are”
“But how can you be sure? I don’t think you can Mudblood, what kind of a Slytherin would I be if I was to keep this relationship going?”
“Snape don’t you ever—“
“What? Call you a Mudblood? But don’t you see, that’s what you are…a filthy, little, Mudblood—“
Snape felt her hand smack across his face.
“How dare you Severus Snape, how dare you” Snape smirked and laughed a little the pain almost killing him inside.
“Get out of her Evens, we don’t want the likes of you round here, go back to Potter and his tribe, you belong with them!” Snape spat then did the hardest thing he’d ever had to do and walked away from the one he loved to give to the one he hated.
