why did crookshcnks go after scabbers? is this because he knew that scabbers was a animagus? if you have answers tell me please.

As Hermione had said it herself, he's a cat and it's only in his nature to chase a rat. So the scene at the early part of the movie where they're at Leaky Cauldron didn't looked funny to me. It would if Scabbers was the one who chase Crookshanks...

There's more the cats like Crookshanks and Mrs. Norris that meets the eye. You will see in the 6th book.

He is half kneezle half Cat

Kneezles are very good at judging people's character, and are very intelligent.

You can read about them in magical beasts and where to find them (something like that any way). Or look it up on the internet.

I can see it quite probable that the pets of Hermione, Harry, Ron and DD will have an even bigger parts in the following books. Hopefully not to out of the oridinary though.

Maybe Hermione could use Crookshanks as a scout before they go on missions or something.

No seriously, he can see right through Scabbers and that he's the traitor, which lead to the possiblity of Ron being the next traitor. Anyway, that was just my stupid theory don't be bother with it.

I agree with cerussite. We know that Crookshanks is half-kneazle. As has been pointed out, kneazles are very intelligent and have a good sense of judging a person's character. Pettigrew couldn't fool him, he was like a wolf in sheep's clothing to Crookshanks.

Crookshanks chased Scabbers because he knew that he is in fact Peter Pettigrew. Crookshanks is part Kneazle which means he can detect forgery and deceit.

Did anyone notices between the present puching of Malfoy and the past they are defferent Malfoy dosn't fall the fist time the 2nd time he did and it mentions in book 3 that crookshanks goses after sabbers numerus times though ou the the book

Crookshanks went after Scabbers cause he knew something fishy was up, and then when he met Sirius, and Sirius told him it was an Animagi, he had a mission.

I think that cats likes rats chasing.ANd Crockshanks is also a cat,thats why she is chasing Scrabbers.May be she knows it that it was not Ron's Rat,it was worm tail.

This topic is out of date now that we know what Crookshanks trully is. And what Scabbers is. for those of you who don't know he's a Kneazle as Gryffindor Rock Chick pointed out.
