I loved it!! A new Hermione/Severus ship (and written by you) is so exciting. I'm looking so forward to the next chapter. Great work, as usual! It's really going to be interesting to get young Severus' point of view regarding the trio, especially Hermione, and maybe even himself. Oh, so much could happen. I'm really excited!

Oh I'm so excited! I've been meaning to read something of yours for ages! With all you do for me with my fic, I was dying to read yours! I love this! I'm not a Snape/Hermione shipper, but I really like it in this one. You are really a great writer! I was so enveloped in the first chapter I was totally thrown off when it ended. I want more!

I love this ship! I am intrigued by your first chapter. The well was a brilliant choice of transports. I am curious as to the time constraints. Three months and fourteen days is very specific so I am wondering if you have a very specific timeline and conflict to happen and then solve in that period of time.

I find it odd that Professor Snape and "Alastor Prince" know about one another and interact when we know everything about that can seriously disturb time travel and the future. I am interested to see how you work it out.

I am just curious, but does this story have a beta? Not that you need one, I was just curious.

About the time travel and interaction between the two Snapes. . . I've read lots of fics where Hermione is sent to the past, and as much as I love them (because I really do, A LOT!!), I wanted mine to be a little more original (I have this thing about being different when it comes to things like this. I'm always paranoid that people will think I stole their idea. Stupid, I know, but that's just how I am.), and I haven't read any that had to do with someone being sent to the future. (Wait, I take that back, I read one where the Marauders had been sent to the future and James met Harry's kids, and Lupin met Teddy. I liked it a lot, but unfortunately it was abandoned and deleted)

Anyway, back on topic! Where Severus had been sent to the future and not the other way around, there would be no way to keep everything about the future a secret. Which is why everyone is so strongly cautioned when it comes to time travel in the first place, so they don't learn too much about the future, right?

I did wonder briefly about whether or not I should try and hide them from each other, but I thought it would be more interesting to have them know one another. Besides that, Severus knows that he was sent to the future when he was young, and his younger self isn't stupid. Dumbledore could have sent Severus away, but the students would be buzzing if their potions master suddenly took a three month (and fourteen days) holiday, and they would wonder aloud where Professor Snape had gone, unless Dumbledore would have informed the students before hand, but even then, talk would be sure to ensue about the matter, even if Dumbledore had sworn the students to silence. So 'Alastar' would have figured out what his future career was to be anyway.

I suppose I just saved myself a chapter or two of Alastar figuring everything out and gave him more time to just be with Hermione.

Anyway, I hope I didn't confuse you with that incredibly long explanation, because I think I just confused myself.

Aaahhhh! I loved it so much I had to scream! That was soooo goood! The interactions between Alastar and Harry and then between Alastar and Draco were great; so electrically charged that I could feel the tension in the air.
“She exists. Isn’t that enough?” answered Draco haughtily.
I loved that you put that in there. Now Severus will see that he isn't the only one who is/was treated with prejudice. I'm so excited about this story. You're a writing fiend lately-when do you sleep??

Lisa~ Ahh, thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it. I think it would be so hard for him to find out that James ended up with Lily. And I can just imagine James' words being, although obviously unknowingly, repeated would make his blood boil. Hermione was there, and accepted him with no questions and no prejudices. I don't think he was used to that in his time.



haha, sleep? What's that? Just kidding. I don't know why, but my imagination is working overtime these last couple of days. I thought I would just make good use of it and update all three of my stories. Speaking of sleep, though. I definitely think I'm going to go to bed early tonight and catch up on some zzz's.

I loved this chapter, Dayna! It was soooo good. I especially liked Alastar's musings about taking orders from himself and Severus' reply regarding putting him in detention. Of course it makes perfect sense that Severus would know everything that Alastar thinks only moments after he thinks it. This must be so confusing (and fun) to write; I can't imagine how you do it.

Also, that kiss! And Severus' thoughts down by the lake...ah, if only he were thinking about me that way!

Dayna! Those last two chapters were amazing! I especially loved in chapter 2 the conflict that is brewing between Draco and Alaster. It also looks like something drastic may be building between them at the end of chapter 3. I can't wait.

I was shocked by that kiss! I never imagined "Severus" to be so bold when it came to social and emotional interactions...especially with women. I was even more shock at the knowledge that the aduld Severus cherished that kiss and it was his first. I loved the subtle longing in his character for Hermione even though she is a student.

What are you talking about PG 13? That was superbly created and not at all in need of that rating. Come to think of it, I believe I imply more in my writing than you wrote in that paragraph.

Loved it: Loved the bag, loved the shoes, LOVED it!

Oh Dayna! Thank you ever so much for telling me that you updated! I'd forgotten to check to see if you had.

Oh I loved your new chapters! It's so sweet how Alastar likes Hermione and he even kisses her. At first it caught me by surprise. I didn't think he'd be that bold, but then....aww. It was so cute. And how he keeps thinking of her was nice.

It's so interesting to see him not really like Draco or the others and even got in detention defending Hermione. I love seeing this side of Snape!

This is...incredible. That was the first word that came to mind when reading it. I am normally not a fan of this particular ship, but you make it seem perfect in this story. You had me hooked with the first paragraph, and I never expect it when the chapter ends. I love seeing how Alastar reacts to seeing children of his peers. It is quite amusing at times, and saddening at others. Oooh. He kissed her. How impulsive And now he has gotten on the bad side of his roommates. Dundundundun. Please, keep writing. I am utterly hooked.

I can just imagine how much she really would be on his mind. Here he is, a social outcast who gets thrown into the future twenty years. He's not used to girls in his time even giving him the time of day, and here comes Hermione, an intelligent, pretty girl who seems taken by him. If I were him, I'd be over the moon!

I imagined myself in his shoes while I was writing that particular bit, and how I would feel if I were to all of a sudden be the same age as the children of the kids I went to school with (did that even make sense? ). Yes, the bad side of his roommates. . . that should be interesting to write. Hopefully I can make the discord that will be sure to be there come out as nicely as it fits together in my mind.

Ohh! I loved your new chapter! Even though Alastar agreed with Draco to not hang out with Hermione and have anything to do with her, he couldn't stop thinking about her! I thought it was so sweet how he kept listing all the things he liked about her and how he compared her to Lily. The way he admires her is adorable! Haha.

I'm glad Hermione approached him and that he was agreeable and told her about what Draco said. It's so fun to read the thoughts that are going through his mind.

Chelsea~ Aww, thank you for you sweet review! I'm having a lot of fun writing the thoughts of teenage Severus. . . Oh, who am I kidding. . . I like writing Severus regardless of his age! But this is my first attempt at writing young Severus. I'm glad you like reading what I've put in his mind.

He's been fun because it's a different experience for me. I'm used to writing the adult Severus, and young Severus isn't quite as cynical and sarcastic as his adult self. He's just an introverted teenager, but a teenager nonetheless, with teenage thoughts and hormones. And what teenage boy doesn't think about girls? Well, what straight teenage boy doesn't think about girls?

I read the previous chapters before and never left a review. I never realized the story was by you though, Dayna. I guess that would explain why it's so wonderful of a story. I really like the way you portray young Severus. He is even more interesting than the adult Snape, the way you write him.

It's a nice change to have a young Severus with Hermione, instead of the older Severus. It gives us a chance to see how they would've done if they had been the same age.

Aww, chapter 4 was so sweet! I loved the talk down by the lake. It was so adorable the way Alastar considered Hermione's musings about future time travel and the way he admires her dedication and ambition. He's such a cutie; I wish he could stay in the future forever, but, alas, rules are rules!

It's very interesting the way adult Severus has begun softening towards Hermione. Hmm... ??

Oh and that Draco (while so cute in another fanfic) is trying to make Alastar into the quintessential Slytherin! Hermione owes him another punch in the kisser!

Alyssa~ Awww. . . Thank you for your sweet review. I'm glad you like how I'm portraying young Severus. I'm having a lot of fun playing with him. I really love any SS/HG shipping story, no matter Snape's age, but I must admit that it's refreshing to be able to write it, and not have either Snape or Hermione worrying about the age difference (which I don't really see any problem with anyway, as long as they are both of age). There are completely new things for them to be worrying about in this story.

I've never really liked SS/HG.

I shouldn't've said that. But don't throw the rotten fruit at me just yet!

I never really liked the SS/HG ship because every single SS/HG fic I've read Severus was twice Hermione's age. Every. Single. One.

Yet in Into The Well, Severus and Hermione are the same age! I'm so excited and maybe this fanfiction will lead me to like SS/HG. I'm eager to see how this plays out. Flawless writing as usuall, zwillo! I'll be watching for the next chapter!

Sister to the Dark Lord~ Don't worry, my feedback threads are a strictly 'no fruit throwing' zone, so no need to worry about rotten tomatoes or apples splattering on your head. I understand completely. A lot of people have a problem with the whole 'they're not in the same generation' thing. And that's fine.

I think people like to pair Hermione with the older generation, usually with Severus, because she is so mature for her age. And she and Snape are both so intelligent that they would be able to continue to feed each other's thirst for knowledge. In Hermione, Snape sees some of the things that he loved in Lily. And her caring nature is able to help Severus learn how to love again.

And on the other hand. . . Hermione needs to be able to keep learning new things, and who better than the amazingly intelligent Snape to help her with that.

If you can see past the age gap, really, SS/HG makes a lot of sense.

Okay. . . Anyway. . . I must say, though, that it is fun to write Severus as a teenager for a change.

Hmmm, zwillo, you've got me thinking.....

I could only find one flaw in your argument, which is amazing, seeing as I can usually tear something like that to shreds.



If that's the only reason people pair up Hermione with Severus, they could replace Sev with Dumbledore and never see the difference.

But enough of my rambling.

Bottom line: You're an awesome writer, and you just might turn me from crusading against SS/HG to supporting it. Great job!

haha. . . I suppose you're right. Hmm. . . maybe I should start a Dumbledore/Hermione fic. . . Just kidding. I think that would be pretty drastic. How old is Dumbledore? He was a professor when Tom Riddle was eleven. And he wasn't even a young professor then. Voldemort was born in 1926, so Dumbledore was probably born around 1900. Yikes!

Of course. . . people do like to pair Harry with Dumbledore. . .

Anyway, I hope I can change your mind about this pairing. I love it!
