In an effort to deter PM spammers, I have created a new member group for ALL new members. When you validate your account via email, you will go into the Sorting Ceremony member group. That member group is restricted so that you will not be able to send any PMs. Once you reach 3 posts, you will be moved into the Witches and Wizards group and you will not be restricted other than the regular rules and restrictions that apply to that group.

Though you cannot use the PM system in the "Sorting Ceremony" group, you can send an email to a Moderator. If you encounter any problems during your initial 3 posts, please send an email to a moderator (Wizengamot).

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this. I hate to have to restrict accounts in this way, but it seems the easiest way for my limited skills to be able to stop the PM spammers that have more recently begun to hassle the members here.
