I read books 2 and 3 first, they were confusing. My father didnt want to buy me the book cuz I've already seen the 1st movie. But yesterday I got the first book from LotR and I started reading it, and now it
makes sense

Really, I just don't understand some people. They go and sit in a chair for 3 hours and 25 minutes just to see Orlando Bloom? How do you do that? HOW DOES ONE DEDICATE HIMSELF/HERSELF TO DO THAT?

I've read the books and have seen all LOTR movies. ROTK was the best so far. I can't wait until I can sit down and watch all three extended editions back-to-back...then I will see the movie as Jackson really intended. Maybe there will be a scene about nine-fingered Frodo...

They had a scene about that in the ROTK movie. Sort of. But I have to say something-
LAY OFF OF FARAMIR TRIAD BECAUSE THAT SUCKER IS MINE!!!!!!!
Lol. Faramir was REALLY pretty in ROTK. But I think all the Rohan people were awesome. They kicked some major butt. ALL of them. Particularly Eowyn, lol. But somehow, I didn't find Shelob to be as scary as I expected.

Oh you're gonna come out of that theater traumatized Triad! I did. Well partly because of the movie, partly because the food splattered all over me, but still. IT WAS AWWWWWWWWWESOME!!! That HAS to win the oscar for best picture AND best director, and whatever else its nominated for, or else I'm going to go up there and slap the guy who decides on the oscars. Grr.....

Oooh..if he is then he SO deserves that! He is truly awesome. When he began to narrate in the end of Two Towers, that part made me cry. Sam is so awesome!

I still don't get it. HOW CAN SOMEONE SIT THROUGH A THREE HOUR AND TWENTY-FIVE MINUTE MOVIE JUST FOR SOME GUY TO PLUCK A BOW?? HE DOESN'T EVEN SHOOT THEM FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! All the arrows are digitally created. All he does is ride a horse fall off and cause a riot. He did go through training though.

I SAW IT!!!!!! Oh my god!!!! I had tears in my eyes from the beginning. Oh it was soo good! I hated the part were Merry and Pippin had to say goodbye. The look on pippins face killed me! I was almost bawling at the very end. Oh I'm soo sad it's all over now. And Sam oh he's so gorgeous, even when he's crying! I'm never goining to get over it, I'll have to watch it everyday when it comes out on dvd! I just wanted to give them all a big hug! Oh I'm such a sook! Every 2 seconds I had tears in my eyes. But there was one thing wrong with it, the didn't explain what happened to Gimli and Legolas. They told us what everyone else did but of course those who have read the books know but still. Oh ok I'm gonna go now and look up some stills on the net.

It's okay to cry with your friends! And in any case, you're probably more emotionally capable of seeing heart-breaking sights then me. I'm a cry-baby, I cry over everything, lol.

Oooh...really? I can't watch horror movies or else I freak out, lol. Like in the beginning of ROTK, yeah, that wouldn't let me sleep for a while. Lol, you know the guy who plays Grima Wormtongue? Looks totally different! He has long hair and a beard, and he's not pale, and he's actually quite a jolly fellow.

ROTK is the best! there never was a dull moment! (maybe because i was sitting in the first row and the speakers are sooo loud...)unlike the 1st two kindof fell asleep at some point...
yeah Faramir looks good...next to orli. hahahah! ok i'm one of the legolas freaks here...but really, its gotta win lotsa awards!!!!!!!!!
NastyShort
Jan 3 2004, 02:01 AM
Its actually nominated for only 4. But it better win ALL of them. Especially Best Picture, and Best Director. I think that Viggo Mortensen should get like an award for best actor or best supporting actor. Oh well, we'll see what happens.

The films came from the books. The films are enormously handy for those who could not comprehend the morals and violence of the books.
The books are obviusly more in-depth and require great intelligence (and a whole lot of time) to understand. That's why there are millions of LOTR geeks out there willing to take the time to do anything for LOTR. It's just another world in which people can relate too.
Many people love it more than Harry Potter because you can relate to it easier, and it was somewhat the first of it's kind. J.R.R Tolkien created this mass world for England. It's supposed to be the history of England, because England "had no -truly-their-own" myths.
Yeah........I'm a big LOTR fan so don't diss any bit of it or get chewed out.

Hey this is great, reading all these messages on how much people loved the LOTH films. From a New Zealand point of view it's awesome.
I think 'ROTK' was the best, then...
'fellowship', and last 'The two towers'.[/b]
