I love both. They're pretty funny!

Tried Futurama, couldn't stick to it. It did make me laugh, but I find other shows to be funnier.
The Simpsons on the other hand, I'm now a proud owner of Seasons 1->4 DVD box sets and #5 is on-route. Timeless classic young adult/adult humour.

For me, Futurama was funny the first time I saw it but ultimately it seemed to loose the humour when I watched any of the episodes for the second time.

On the other hand there are very few Simpson Episodes I wouldn't watch again. The Humour IMHO just has so many more levels to it than Futurama. fry and co just can't compare to classic characters like Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa!

It's definitely one of the best American sit-coms ever produced!

Matt Groening is a comedic genius.
The characters Bender and the crab-guy are hilarious.
But Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, Maggie, and the other citizens
of Springfield are a classic element of modern humor.
Can't beat the Simpsons.

i like both shows, but in the end, i'd rather watch the simpsons, because whether i've seen the episode before or not, i still want to watch it, whereas futurama isn't as funny the second or third time around.

I'd say that both are excellent and I'd be hard pressed to make a choice. However, if forced I'd say The Simpsons. It is way past its best and for a few years now I've laughed more at Futurama, but was brilliant in its heyday.

Futurama is wacky and totally off the wall and those are exactly the reasons that I love it, but paradoxically, the same reasons why it has never touched me quite like its older sibling. The Simpsons, for all its silliness, is still refelctive of real life. There are these tiny moments that are often funnier than the big jokes, because we can identify with them. I can care about Homer and co in a way that I don't seem to care about Fry and Leela.

Anyway, back on topic. I much perfer Futurama, after a night out i sometimes put a video of it on, so good. I do like the simpsons but it's just i think I've seen thjem on, and it's on the TV everyday! I just get bored of it after a while.

I must admit, i do love it when a new eppisode of the simpsons comes on, but it's rather rare though. I do love the one when Sideshow Bob comes to kill Bart, and they go under the whitness protection programe as 'the Thompsons' it might well be the best one ever.

Oh i love Squee *squells in delight* those eyes are to die for! i feel so sorry for him in that first issue. Thankfully he has Johnny as a loving nextdoor nieghbour, *wink wink* lol. I also love JTHM (again i'm not going to say it's name in full) but i've only read the first 3 or 4, as my mum banned me from reading them!!!! Although now i've left home and there's nothing stopping me....i shall go buy another one.

I LOVE the Simpsons! It is just my favorite cartoon ever! I adore it! Futurama is ok. I don't hate it. But if I had a choice, I would go with Simpsons!

So hard to decide, I guess both equally.
I was totally thrilled by Futurama, I just loved seeing something new by Matt Groening, and the whole show is just so funky, Fry, Zoidberg... fabulous.
I found Futurama more exciting than The Simpsons, but that's probably because I've been watching those for about 8 years. XD

Hay you i can see that most people love Simpsons better and you got to admite that it is Futurama is a great show but i haven't see any new epersod and has the creater stop or something, because i love wotch Futurama.

I'm not liking newer episodes of Simpsons, they lack.. hmm.. quality, wit, clever story, oh well...

"The Simpsons" used to be really terribly funny, like the episode where they visit New York City and get the boot put on their car, making it almost impossible for them to leave until Homer decides to drive the car out, boot and all. But it's been on for so long that it's beginning to get really flat. It can't really get a laugh out of me anymore because it just doesn't feel that fresh or surprising.

"Futurama" is funnier simply because it didn't have a chance to get stale. Some of the episodes were really wonderful. I didn't get to see a huge amount of the run, but I was impressed by it.

So, I guess older "The Simpsons" shows win for wit, but "Futurama" wins for staying fresh. A compromise, if you will.

The Simpsosn sucks and always will. Futurama is the best, and always will be...

im not allowed to watch the Simpsons anymore, because my mom thinks it "inappropriate". i personally like Futurama better though. It is funnier. I like the type of humor that they show.

I love both. I don't know why your mom says the Simpsons are inappropriate, imtherealluna* , unless it might that she doesn't like that type of humour. It's not real life, what is she afraid of? She should be glad that it is not mindless entertainment. The Simpsons can be enjoyed on different levels by people of different ages. Perhaps she sees something in it at her level that she doesn't like, forgetting that young children don't see things the same way.

I can remember discovering a children's programme in England called "The Magic Roundabout" when I was twenty. It was brilliant, hilariously funny for adults and totally innocent for children. Matt Groening has the same kind of double-take in the Simpsons. You need a bit of life experience to get the hidden jokes.

I love the voices in Futurama, particularly Bender.

Hmm... i don't know that a TV show which is about drug addiction can be said as 'totally innocent for children' The whole 'Sugar addiction' thing was about being addicted to LSD I know that kids aren't going to get the reference, and yes it's still fun I love it

I can understand why the Simpsons may be deemed inapropriate to some people though, they poke fun at a lot of people, and way of lives. I'm not a big simpson fan, i much perfer Futurama. I just love Fry and Bender. They're so funny IMO the simpsons have been going on for too long.

But the Simpons is a satire, that's what a satire does, poke fun at people. But I agree, I think it has been on for to long and really could of ended a long time ago. But anyway, I like Futurama, but I love the Simpsons.

I love both and i don't think we can compare a cartoon showing life at 2006 and one showing life a century later. They are both funny and critisize politics and politicians in a very subtle but obvious way. It's right that Simpsons have been going on for too long but it's not repeting itself. That's what I think.

I think i would have to go with Futurama because it is way funnier and different because of the whole future think i like it with the aliens and the robots. i like the simpons because it is a classic and still funny (Bart) but i'm going with Futurama and i see some of you already agree with me so yay all who agree with me

Really REALLY bored of The Simpsons, it was nice to see something a bit different! Simpsons is classic but its dated now, i love Futurama i have all the box sets. Luvvin Fry!! My fave episode is where Fry and Leela get stung by a bee and Leela gets knocked out...

I would have to say that I like Simpsons hands down. The episodes are hilarious and I never really was interested in Futurama. It really didn't ever strike me as a good show. Maybe I am wrong, but I still have to stick with the Simpsons. I like the way the story in the episodes moves smoothly along. And everyone has to admit some of the Simpsons episodes are classic. I also like the way the have the Tree House of Horror every Halloween. Those are the ones that I have to say are the funniest.

Well I do like Futurama, it makes me laugh, but Simpsons I have been watching for a whole deal longer. So I would have to say the Simpsons but I love Futurama i just prefer Simpsons.

Definitely The Simpsons, they got to my heart first, I remember more stuff from the Simpsons than from the Futurama series but I think they are both great.

I've always loved the Simpsons They're just so original and classic; and hilarious! When Futurama came out I thought it was pretty bad and pathetic, but then I started watching it and it's awesome! I love it, but the Simpsons is on every night (more than once) so I watch that alot more. I know all the old eps off by heart and the new ones are just hilarious. I'd say Simpsons wins hands down. Futurama rocks, but the Simpsons has lasted, and it will last alot longer. Looking forward to the movie this year

I would have to say Simpsons hand down! I haven't watched much of Futurama. Why? Because I always fall asleep lol. But I just can never get into it and it's not really funny to me. I love the Simpsons and although I haven't watched any episodes in a while, the show is still awesome. In fact, there is a new one tomorrow night so I think I'll watch that. It's "The Sound of Simpsons" and it's bound to be good.

The simpsons! They totally rock! I love to watch it cause it's so funny. All day i'm humming the theme song! The best part is that there are like 18 seasons which means you never get bored of anything!

Well I watch the Simpsons every night and even if I try i can NEVER watch an entire episode of futurama. It just doesnt interest me as much and isnt as funny in my opinion. Im actually shocked that people seem to like futurama more! a lot of people where i live cant stand it!

I'm a Futurama fan, the Simpsons just doesn't appeal to me. The Simpsons always seems very weird, where as Futurama just seems automatically funny.
