The meeting
I sighed silently whilst pulling off the duvet. Yet another day with the idiots I thought. I mean, Harry and Ron are OK, but they need to learn to be more mature, like me! I sighed yet again. I pulled on my robes, and untangled my forest of brown hair. I scurried down the stairs. I mean, I do LIKE Ron and Harry. I definitely like Ron. I sighed once more. Tears started to well up by my lungs. I mean, I really like Ron. The water shifted towards my throat. I love Ron. At that moment, the sea of tears sprung out of me.
“Crying already, Hermione?” I heard Harry’s voice, mocking me. Doesn’t he realize how hard this is?
“Oh….” I sighed. “It must be….” I sighed again. More and more sighs accumulated.
“Save it, Hermione” Harry laughed. How could I tell him I was in love with Ron? How could I tell him that when we sit in the lounge, I have to arrange myself so I wouldn’t be tempted to hug him? “I’m hungry” He moaned.
“Well get some food then!” I hissed back.
“I was waiting for you Hermione” He replied. At that moment I felt bad. This is no way to start a conversation, Hermione!!
“Sorry. I guess I’m hungry too” I tried to smile. Just a slither of hope that maybe he wouldn’t tell Ron that I was upset. What would I do if he put the reassuring arm around me?!
“Delicious!” Ron spoke, whilst abit of turkey was inside his mouth.
“Eat with your mouth closed!” I complained. Maybe that would show that I don’t like him. I turned towards my plate. Stupid peas…. Stupid turkey…. Stupid magic…. Stupid Ron…. Stupid life….
“Hermione, everything alright?” Harry’s articulate voice shrilled out to me. Why couldn’t I have a crush on Harry?!
“Yes, I am fine, Harry” I mumbled. Why couldn’t Ron ask? At my thought, I realised. Ron was no longer in the room. “Where is Ron?” I asked.
“You started glaring at him. I mean really glaring at him. Like loving glare at him” He laughed. Oh shoot. Well, at least he is gullible. If I say something intelligent…. “There you go again, Hermione!” He started roaring with laughter. That was it. I stood up, collected my bags, and ran out of the room. Tears trickled down my skin. Puddles trailed behind me. That was it. I’m going.
My bags where packed before anyone could say “Gryffindor”; just how I liked it.
“Hermione?” Cho whispered. What is that girl doing here outside?
“Yes, What” I moaned.
“What are you doing?” She asked. Do you want to know? Really? Well I am in utmost love with Ron, and I can’t stand it.
“Going” I sighed. The train pulled nearer to the station.
“I thought the trains didn’t come” She whispered quieter
“No. They don’t” I snapped. “Now go back; I asked especially for this train to come. Now go.” I pushed her aside. My bags in hand, I headed towards the train.
Inside wasn’t so bad. The fear of being caught was long gone. The fear of someone realising that I was heading for America, not a chance. Ok. Forks, here I come. I chanted in my head.
Thud.
What the hell? I looked around. Oh shoot they caught me. Fear arose in my chest. Butterflies, no, moths, fluttered carelessly inside my stomach.
Thud.
It’s getting closer. Run, Hermione! My legs failed to obey the simple command. My lungs failed to breathe.
Thud
Close your eyes, Hermione. Try that! I obeyed this. My eyes shut tight. My head thought of all the possible ways I could flee. None so far
Thud
This is it My voice inside my head shouted. The door creaked open. I couldn’t bare this. I screamed subconsciously. I didn’t notice I was, I just knew that I had to find a way. Hands gripped onto my skin. Cold, freezing hands. What was this? My screaming grew. My legs kicked.
“Shh!” A small voice ordered. Who is this? I thought. My eyes were determined to stay shut.
“Whoever you are, go away!” I yelled.
“Shh!!” The small voice was deeper, sterner.
“I’m Alice, Hermione” The young voice soothed.
“H-how do you know my name?” I suddenly asked, calmer than before. My eyes fluttered open. There in front of me was a small girl. She must have been…. 16?! 17?!
“Hermione, go back home” She whispered. “Going to Forks is a bad idea” She whispered again, but louder.
“No” I screamed.
“Hermione, I see the future. If you come to Forks, It’s bad.” Her beautiful eyebrows turned in to vertical V. What was she on about?!
“I’m going to Forks…. Alice!” I wanted to know why she was here. All of a sudden, she sighed an aggravated, concerned sigh.
“Please” She finally murmured
“What is your problem?!” I shrilled. What is wrong with that girl? She thinks she can see the future. That only happens in books!!
“My problem is your safety, Hermione! If you come to Forks, where will you stay?!” She seemed angry. Why was she so angry? Why did she care about my safety?
“Uh…. Probably…. Well….” Great. I had no idea where I was going to go. I was brainy, but not that brainy.
“Stay with me” She whispered.
“Why?” I asked.
“Otherwise you will be put in more danger. I mean, staying with me isn’t the best option, but it will have to do.” She started rambling on and on. Just cut to the point!
“Fine, Fine!” I screamed. Anything to make her shut up! She smiled slowly.
“Well there are a few things you should know” She seemed quieter. Her subtle voice almost too quiet to hear. “We are vampires” we? “There is Jazz, Carlisle, Esme, Edward, Emmet, Rosalie, me, Bella, and Renessmee” Who was Renessmee? “Renessmee isn’t a vampire though. Well, sort of. She is vampire and a human.” She smiled delicately.
“So I am staying in a house full of vampires? Yes. Totally safe” I spat. Her idiocy seemed too much.
“Yes. But it is the only way. Other wise, some random…. Dude with red eyes…. Will kill you” She seemed concerned.
“Someone with red eyes?” I repeated.
“Yes” She seemed not to be breathing. What was wrong? “I’m sorry. I forgot to hunt” She edged towards the window. Was she going to… Jump?
“Don’t jump, silly!” I shouted.
“It’s fine! I will be back before you know it. Vampires have extraordinary balance. And vision” She smirked. Was she trying to be better than me? I don’t think so!
“Well I am more intelligent” I smirked back. This made her laugh.
“I guess you and Edward will have a wonderful time chatting then!” She carried on laughing. Within a few moments, she had jumped, and run into the woods. I was alone again. I sighed, and shut my eyes. I was about to go into a house of vampires! What was I going to expect there? A greeting? Then next on a dinner plate with salad next to me?
The train still chugged along. Alice hadn’t returned. Was she hurt? Sigh. I guess I should go and save her I thought. All of a sudden, the train that brought me to a fate I couldn’t imagine stopped. I could hear the train’s engine sighing with relief. I moved, shaking, towards the outside. As soon as my feet stepped out of the train doors, I saw nine white faces staring at me. So pale….
“Yes?” I sighed. I hated having people stare at me like I was some sort of rare animal inside a cage at the zoo.
“Hermione Granger!” A small voice shrilled. Who was that small girl?
“This is Renessmee” A man spoke. His voice cooled down my spine. “I’m Edward” His voice shook my body. “This is Bella and Renessmee” He started going along the people with white faces. I looked like a sore thumb. Suddenly, Alice ran towards me.
“You have to stay here” She ordered. “Stay with us, until you want to go back home” She smiled at me. But… Why did I have to stay?
“Because outside isn’t safe at the moment” Edward answered. Did he just read my mind?
“Yes” He laughed. Oh. Right. What next? His smiling face turned to confusion.
“What I mean is, what other powers?” I started rambling. “I mean, why hasn’t anyone started sucking my blood yet? And why do you lot have powers?” With that, my head started to dim down abit. More calm. What was going on? I couldn’t become stressed….
“That should calm you down” A man called Jasper laughed. If I wasn’t so calm, I would have fainted. I wanted to flee. The girl that Edward said was Bella, walked towards me
“We don’t drink human blood. We drink animal blood” She smiled. “We can resist” She carried on smiling. With that, the small child named Renessmee walked closer to me. What was I to do, pick her up? Edward nodded. This is going to get extremely annoying. I sighed, and picked her up. She put her small hands onto my cheeks. There, in my mind, was me. Getting out of the train, meeting them all.
“What?” I whispered. The supermodel Rosalie then took Renessmee away from my face. How can this child know what just happened? How did she know every detail?
“Relax, Hermione! You’re making this harder!” Jasper complained. I inhaled, and then exhaled.
“Right. So now what” I grumbled. I looked up, seeing Renessmee in Bella’s arms.
“Well, we take you home” Carlisle replied. Was I really doing this? After all I learnt, I was going to a house of complete strangers? No. Worse. A house of Vampires.
“We aren’t that bad” Edward whispered to me and only me. I rolled my eyes. The body builder named Emmet then reached out towards me, and grabbed me. I was then unwillingly swung onto his shoulders
“Put…Me…Down!” I yelled out to him. All Emmet did was laugh. With a flash, we were running. Running so fast that I couldn’t breathe. There was no time to. I screamed, even though I had no oxygen. Was this how I ended my life?
“Emmet stop! She can’t breathe!” I heard Alice scream. With that, I was dropped onto the ground. Had she seen the drastic end to my future?
“Yes, she did” Edward replied to me.
“Hermione are you ok?” I heard Bella ask, concerned. She bent down towards me and put her cold hand on my forehead. “You’re alright” She smiled down at me. “Renessmee sweetie, don’t run off!” I saw that Bella was concerned over the small demon child. Woops. Edward stood next to Bella like a guardian angel at that point. Renessmee was by their sides.
“Sorry…. I didn’t mean” I started.
“What? What did you say?” Bella asked. She looked up at Edward, surprised by his stance.
“I didn’t mean it, honest” I whispered. Edward’s stiff body then relaxed. Bella and Renessmee were confused, I knew so much.
“Come on Hermione, we better get you home so you can get some rest” A woman soothed. I took her to be Esme. I nodded sheepishly. Edward took Renessmee onto his shoulders and ran with Bella. Did I hurt him?
“Come on” Alice whispered. She then was the one that lifted me, like Edward did to Renessmee.
The speed was there, yet again. But it was slower, more…. Cautious. I slowly looked behind, and saw Carlisle and Esme there. Even as blurs, I could see their beauty. I had to admit, vampires were gorgeous. Maybe Ron was a vampire…. Ron….
haha finished the second!
Unintelligence
I was there, in the room with Renessmee. I still didn’t like her. Everyone but her and I were out hunting.
“You want to play with dolls?” She asked angelically. I gave her evil eyes. Of course I would want to play dolls with a monster. Why not?! Her little body gave a little sigh.
“How old are you?” I asked. I wanted to know if she would act like her age.
“I’m two” She smiled. “But momma said I look ten” She carried smiling. She then handed me a plastic figure.
“How come you look so old?” I asked. Surely she wouldn’t be offended. Most monsters don’t get offended.
“I don’t know” She seemed upset with her reply. “Momma said I am extra special. And dadda said that I am part human and vampire” She smiled at her new explanation. “That’s why I can do this!” She dropped the Barbie and came closer. Her small cold hands were placed on my cheeks
“No!” I screamed, but it was too late. There were pictures. Pictures that a mature grown up would have nightmares about. The look on Bella’s face as a human. And who was that boy that had “imprinted?” What was imprinting? She then let go of my face. This was one way to distract my feelings of Ron.
“Renessmee” I breathed out. “That’s horrible!” I gasped. How could such a little child….
“I know, Hermione” She was still smiling. Such a small child, such a small age, and she could speak my name even clearer than Harry.
“What’s imprinting, if you don’t mind me asking?” I acted like she was much older….
“Well, Jakey is a special person. And he believes in love at first sight. And well that’s how he imprinted. I like him very much too” She giggled. She was a teenager stuck inside a small shell. “I have to go see Jakey soon!” She smiled from ear to ear.
“May I see him too?” I asked.
“Ok!” She jumped up and down. She was so adorable. “He is coming round in about two hours!” She proclaimed loudly. “Momma and dadda have to get back first” She then turned and ran to her Barbies. She lifted them out to me, and I accepted. This was a child that had gone through so much, but can still laugh.
“Are you scared, Renessmee?” I asked.
“Call me Nessie” She smiled. I was shocked. I knew, Nessie meant loch ness monster.
“Why Nessie?!” I ordered.
“Well, when I was born, Jakey thought I was a monster” This didn’t seem to hurt her. “So he called me Nessie! But I like it. He doesn’t think that any more though” She smiled, and passed me a mini brush to brush the Barbie’s hair.
“Ok. Are you scared, Nessie?” Did I cross the line by asking it? She didn’t reply. She looked down at the Barbie. “Nessie what’s wrong?” I asked.
“Jakey once said that the mean Volturi are going to look for me again” She seemed to be almost crying. Oh shoot. Great timing for the vampires to come back.
“Come here” I reached out my arms. She hugged me tightly. Her little heart beating quicker than mine. “Nessie I don’t think anyone will hurt you!” I felt like a mother. A mother talking to her child.
“I know” She started to smile again. “Alice said that everyone is protecting me” She seemed chuffed.
“Me too” I smiled, and tapped her nose with my finger.
“How?” She asked.
“Nessie I’m a wizard” I laughed. Didn’t she realise?
“Show me! Show me!” She chanted, happier. I looked out of the window. The vampires where almost back.
“Ok. A quick one” I whispered. I didn’t want to disappoint her. I lifted out my wand, and pointed it at Nessie
“Wingardiam Leviosa!” I screamed, whilst waving my wand. Nessie, with a squeal of excitement, flew into the air. Her face was full of delight, astonishment.
“Put her down!” I heard a growl from the front door. I couldn’t get distracted. “Now!”
“Stop distracting whoever you are or I won’t be able to lightly” I smiled. I was the brainy one now
“No dadda please let me stay up here!” Nessie squealed.
“No!” Edward shouted. Nice how long it lasted. I slowly lowered the small angel down from the heavens. As soon as Nessie was on the ground laughing, Edward came over to me.
“I didn’t hurt her” I tried reassuring him. His body was stiff. He growled again, and lifted Nessie up. “She liked it” I smiled with Nessie. This was the wrong thing to do. Note to self: Never agitate a vampire.
“You bet!” Edward barked.
“Dadda it’s ok!” Nessie spoke to him. Edward didn’t care. I was prey.
“Edward stop” Alice was here to save me; again. “Don’t you think about hurting her!” Alice ordered. Edward was still stiff. “Bella will be here in a moment” Alice whispered to me.
“What happened?” I heard. Wow. A moment is very quick. Bella moved swiftly to Edward and Nessie.
“All I did was let her fly for a second!” I tried not to laugh at my words. Yes. It was bizarre. Bella was more sympathetic.
“Momma I flew! It was amaaaazing!” Nessie’s ecstatic voice shrilled. Bella smiled. She then turned, and kissed Edward.
“Edward she isn’t hurt it’s ok” Edward still stayed stiff at Bella’s words. What did I do that was so wrong? He carried glaring into my eyes. Why wouldn’t he talk? Five more pale bodies shot into the murderous scene. Alice then quietly whispered into their ears. It was like I was being pierced. I was the cause of this trouble.
“Look Edward, I am sorry” I tried to say calmly. It wasn’t my fault he was over-protective. Oh dang it. His body seemed much stiffer, if it was possible.
“You called me what?” He finally asked. His jaw was clenched. Bella looked afraid; she tugged Nessie off of Edward. Was there danger?
“Edward-” But I could say no more. I didn’t want to say any more. My hands were still clutched onto the wand. One quick spell and this all could be forgotten....
“Don’t think about it” He seemed to be in pain. I twisted my head to look at the others. They all seemed to be fearful as well.
“I’ll go” I whispered. Edward nodded. I thought they would protest. I looked back at Alice; the worry clearly on her face.
“No. Hermione you have to stay.” She whispered. Saved by Alice again, Hermione. You’re losing your intelligence!! Edward growled.
“Alice” He murmured.
“Edward there was no harm done to Nessie” Carlisle spoke. His voice too calm. “Think before you do anything” He was trying to reassure Edward.
“This is my fault. I shouldn’t have.” I whispered. I didn’t know who I was anymore. Hermione you know better! You let a child dangle in mid air! Do what Carlisle says, and think before you do! I felt ashamed. I was losing what I had; intelligence. Yet again, Edward nodded.
“Dadda I’m fine!” Nessie lightly spoke out. Bella stared into Edward’s eyes. If only Ron and Harry where here.... They would help me. Wait.
“Accio broomstick!” I screamed. Edward’s eyes grew wide. Bella looked confused. Nessie smiled. The room seemed to become dizzy with the different emotions people were portraying.
Within a few moments, my faithful broomstick was in my hands.
“I won’t disturb you for a while” I whispered. I got up, and sat on my broomstick. After a few moments, I was in the air.
I dangled in mid air across the bleak forest. I spotted a few deer, and some dogs. Dogs? Impossible. But at this point in time, my intelligence was bleeding out of me. I had to think. Hermione, be reasonable. Just go back there and be mature about this. You always do the right thing. I was right. In my head. I paused for a moment, sighed, and returned back “home”.
“Oh Hermione!” Alice greeted me, hugging me tightly. “I saw horrible things!! Don’t you ever do that again!” I was being treated like a child.
“I had to get out. It wasn’t safe” I replied. “Where is Edward?” I asked softly.
“Still annoyed” Was her answer.
“He hates me now, doesn’t he?” I asked, quietly.
“No he doesn’t” Alice grinned. “He is abit protective though. Next time, I would do it in his presence. Just in case” She winked.
“So what next? Am I still held against my will?” I asked slyly.
“Yes. Until the vision changes” She glared at me. I was being held here as hostage. Great. I sighed. “And this is all because of Ron” I walked towards the sofa, and dived onto it.
“Who’s Ron?” Alice asked, concerned.
“Well, I have a crush on him you see” I bet Alice wouldn’t take this seriously. “And it got too much. And.... I had to leave” I sighed. “And from there, my intelligence seems to have decreased rapidly” I started feeling the warm tears in my lungs again. Pushing itself up to my throat. To my eyes....
“Hermione, don’t cry” Alice cooed. “We have lots of books here....” That cheered me up.
“Where?” I asked, thoughtlessly. She laughed her usual cheery laugh.
“Upstairs. You won’t miss it!” I suddenly leapt up, and went to find the bo
