Hi! This fanfic has been posted on here before, but apparently it's been deleted. So, I'm back with it, slightly updated! Well, you'll see!

Obscurity, Deception, and Admiration:

A fanfic by Luna♥Lover (Monica the Great)

What it's about: Albus Potter and Rose Weasley are on the train to Hogwarts, when they find a compartment with seven best friends. They join them and get along well with eachother, officially inviting them into their group. Then old friends of one of the group attend Hogwarts, in which she joins them, leaving the others angry. They can't seem to get along with the other group. It's up to Albus and Rose to try to set thing straight. But then a mystery comes into play, lies being told every minute, and mysterious love letters floating around. It'll be one heck of a year.

What it is rated: Ooh, this is a toughie. I guess it is PG with a bit of PG13 in it. PG 11, we'll say.

Who the characters are: You all know Rose and Albus, and some of the other Weasley/Potters, but I've added my own characters. This is actually a much exaggerated story of my life from Grade 5 to 8, and all the new characters are either in my Grade 7 class, my best friends when I was in Grade five, and one who was in the other Grade 4 class when I was in Grade 4. So unfortunately, I don't own anyone. Except maybe me. Yes, I do believe I own me

Where it takes place: It takes place at Hogwarts, with some sequence on the train. And some other stuff

When it takes place: This story takes place right after the very last word in DH (and that word will be 'well'), on the train, in Rose's point of view. But we're going to pretend that Rose and Albus start school in September 2008, so that my story works out. It ends when…well I can't tell you that (evil smiley inserted here!)

Feedback Thread: Coming Soon

Okeydokey, I think we shall begin!

Chapter One

The Seven to Nine

The station was now out of sight, but Rose Weasley and her cousin Albus Potter were still waving. They were finally going to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, of which this experience had been awaited for their entire life. Rose looked at her green-eyed bespectacled cousin, whom was nervous about one thing – being sorted into Slytherin house.

Slytherin was any descendant of Gryffindor alumni's nightmare. They wanted to be like the family by being sorted into the house of bravery. This thought scared Rose more than it did Albus, but she kept it quiet. She always was quiet.

"So this is it." Rose finally said, searching for a compartment. "We're finally going to Hogwarts!" The train was packed with people. They didn't find a compartment which had room until near the end of the train, but inside of it were inhabited by six Slytherins. They kept searching, hearing a Canadian accent at all of the rear compartments when they finally came to a large compartment at the very end of the train. Inside one could hear people laughing, and whole-heartedly, not jaded like the Slytherin's laugh.

"Let's try in here." Albus said, turning the brass doorknob. Inside were seven faces, appearing to be about ages 11 to 13, looking at them. A rather chubby boy whom looked rather friendly started to speak. "Hi. You can sit down here if you'd like." His voice had a Canadian accent. "Everywhere else was full." Rose said, sitting down.

"I'm Evan. Gryffindor" said the boy. He shook their hands. The two replied with their names. "Rose Weasley." "Albus Potter". When they said their names, a girl sitting next to Evan peered at them over her book. She blushed slightly and kept on reading.

The on Evan's left was a shorter, thin, almost too thin, girl, drawing a picture with wolves on it. "I'm Gabby. I'm in Gryffindor too." she said, looking at them for only a moment's time. She seemed the person who only talked with people whom she knew well, which made Rose feel rather uncomfortable. The girl next to her, whom was easily the tallest of them all with long black hair, stood up.

"I'm Kendra. I'm a Hufflepuff." she said, pointing at her yellow and black tie. She also had a pin with a dragon on her robe, which she pointed at. "I got the dragon award from the Ministry for being knowledgeable about dragons." She was about to continue when the girl whom had the book spoke, actually taking the book out of her sight. "Easy Kendra, they don't need to know the whole story!"

She had dark brown hair that could easily be mistaken for black with chocolate-brown eyes, and looked much younger than Kendra. "Hi, I'm Monica, and I'm in Ravenclaw. Are you really Rose Weasley and Albus Potter? I've read all about your parents' adventures! A British author named Joanne Rowling wrote about them. I do hope you will tell me more about what happened, but –"

Another chubbier boy cut into another's conversation. "Monica, be quiet! I'm Jacob, and I'm in Hufflepuff." He had an easy grin and clearly looked the Hufflepuff like. Then a boy who was holding hands with Kendra spoke. "I'm Nick, Ravenclaw." It was then silent for a moment, and then Evan said the name "Caroline?"

A beautiful girl who sat in the corner silently was almost forgotten by the group. "Oh, hi. I'm Caroline. I'm a first year, so I don't have a house yet." The entire group had been introduced. The next thing they knew, they were talking about birthdays and ages.

"I'm the oldest." Kendra said, bragging slightly "January 28th, 1995." Monica then butted in, showing her Ravenclaw intelligence "Then it's Gabby, April 3rd, then it's Evan, August 23rd, then Jacob, August 29th. Then we have Nick, September 7th, but we're in different years because of our birthdays. Then me, October 4th, then Caroline, September 20th, 1996, then…when's your birthdays?" she finally finished her long run-on sentence.

"December 21st, 1996, then Albus, March the ninth of 97. Rose said. It was silent for another moment, and then Evan spoke up.

"Do you want to join our group?" he said. Rose looked at Albus. "Sure." they said simultaneously. Rose was happy about being invited, and looked it too. "Great." he said, smiling that grin he could. "So we are now the nine!" They put their hands in, and clueless, Albus and Rose followed.

"It's a Canadian thing." Jacob said. They all raised their hand and yelled "NINE!" But Gabby didn't. She was too busy looking at the people outside the compartment door.

Ooh, do you like it? When I get the feedback thread up, check it out. The next chapter will be up tomorrow!
