Since it seems everyone has a patronous in the wizarding world. I was wondering what would Voldemort's patronous would be, though he probably never needed one?
My guess is a snake and most likely a basalisk?
Any Ideas?

I would say that it would almost definitely be a snake/basilisk. The only other option would possibly be a dementor?? But I dont know if a patronus could be something thats not animal, so i would say its probably some type of snake...interesting question though

If Voldemort had a patronus, it definitely would be something on the more terrifying side of things. So a snake or basilisk would make sense. A dementor is also a good idea. It is supposed to make you fearful. I think a basilisk is the best bet though, because he used it for Salazar Slytherin.

I think it would be a kitten. They are so cuddly and want to be loved! Face it, Voldemort is misunderstood... that's why he took such a violent outlook on life. I also think that if people saw a little kitten, they'd never think it was his! And he's clever right? Hence the misleading of the kitten as his! Voldie needs a hug, but you know,

I find this topic very interesting. A Patronus is defined as an image or protector for the castor or wizard from dark wizards and dementors. In my opinion, after Tom Riddle became Lord Voldemort, he most likely wouldn't of had one, being a dark wizard himself. That comes on the topic of whether Death Eaters truly have patronuses.
But I feel, as well as most of you do, that his patronus, if he had one, would of been something along the lines of a dark creature. Something along the lines of a basilisk would of been obvious in a way. I feel something darker was needed toward him though. He did have fear in him of things, but I don't think in a way that a patronus could of protected him.

I agree with Kiersten, I honestly don't think he would have one. In order to make a patronus you have to have happy thoughts. Does LV actually have happy thoughts. I don't think that LV would need to be protected from dementors as they feed on happiness. I don't think they would affect him in the slightest.
But if he did have one, I agree that it would most likely be a snake of some sort.

Well, the only happy thought I can think of for Voldemort is when he entered and discovered Hogwarts. He loved the school more than anything.

Thanks Dayna for agreeing with me!

Well,
AryaForce, that's true. That makes me want to think his patronus would of been something related to Hogwarts, such as one of the mascots. The most logical would of been a snake for Slytherin.
JKR never did state anything about this, so maybe it's supposed to be decided upon our reason.
