Well I was trying to think of an unusual comparison and I came up with: who would win in a fight, Dobby or Gollum. Remember if you don't know who Gollum is please just pick i don't know or else your vote will be unfair. Also try not to let your love of HP bias your views. Give good reasoning. I think it would be a close fight. For the purposes of this poll lets say Gollum has the ring.

I would say Dobby would win. He is physically weak, and Gollum may be a little slyer than him, but he is intelligent and has magical powers. Gollum can turn invisible but Dobby may be able to cast a disillusionment charm.

Either way, I think dobby would win in a fight. LIke you said, Dobby is physically weak, but Golum isnt strong either, sam and frodo overpower him on several occasions. Plus, Dobby can do very advanced and powerful magic. Even with the ring on golum cant do any magic outside being invisible. The only way golum could win is that he is alot sneaker than dobby and would definitely use nasty tactics to win. He's also got the ring of power, which should definitely count for something. However, in the end i think dobby would be able to curse golum fairly easily and win the fight

he has all that amazing elf magic stuff that Gollum doesn't have. Although Kreacher v Gollum would be interesting since they are both mad, talk to themselves and have a dark, evil, and 'protect the ring/misstress!' thing.....

I think Gollum is very strong, but Dobby possesses magic possibly stronger than some wizards and would definitely use that to his advantage.

I suppose Dobby is more powerful than Gollum, and I assume the elf magic would prevail Gollum's magic.

Gollum is crazy - I certainly wouldn't want to fight him! Frodo's finger is proof that he can do some serious damage. But Dobby would win. He has magic - and probably much more than we know about. Wait I'm gonna change my mind right now! Rememeber in GoF, when an invisible Crouch slips away from Winky - she has know idea where he has gone. I reckon therefore that an invisible Gollum has one shot at getting an attack in on Dobby before Dobby goes to town on him. If the fight took place on the top of Mount Doom then Gollum could push Dobby in to claim the victory..........actually even then, Dobby could probably apparate mid-fall to safety and destroy Gollum!

Dobby just because he is more likeable. Gollum just goes around muttering "my precious" in a super creepy voice. I hate Gollum. Dobby is actually alright when he isn't going hella overboard in serving Master Harry Potter and he died an honorable death.
