Well, I looked through the forum and I didn't see another thread on this topic...so I'm hoping that it's all right! biggrin.gif

I wub.gif the Redwall series by Brian Jacques. Describing what they're about I love the idea of talking animals. I still wish that I could wake up one morning and be in Redwall! I'm not particular, either, I would be just about any animal except the "vermin" ones. wink.gif

So, um, here's a few questions then, to start it off, since I can't be the only one who's read these:

What's your favorite book out of the series?

What is your favorite kind of animal and why?

Who's your favorite character and why (or perhaps more than one character if you're like me and can't ever decide... whistling.gif )?

And here are my answers:

What's your favorite book out of the series?
I think that my favorite book is probably Pearls of Lutra. I thought it was a brilliant premise, and I love how even the "vermin" turn on the bad guy for stealing the pearls since it means that vengeance is visited equally on everyone. I also love Tansy and trying to solve all the riddles! I still remember one of them off of my head, where you had to solve a riddle that involved letters of the alphabet. It really made ya think.

What is your favorite kind of animal and why?
Now that one is hard. I think my favorite kind of animal is either a squirrel, an otter, a mouse, or a hare. Those are the animals that have the most interesting personalities in my opinion. I would love to be able to climb everywhere if I was a squirrel (and of course, I always remember Celandine the pretty squirrelmaid in Martin the Warrior wink.gif ). If I was an otter, I would be utterly at home in the water...which would be a change, since I'm terrified of it now. Mice start out as the main characters in Redwall, and I love how they're described--it gives them a whole new look in my eyes. And hares are just...awesome. I love how daring/brave/dangerous they can be while still having that delightful sense of humor. I think it would be awesome to join the Long Patrol and protect Salamandastron and all surrounding areas!

Who's your favorite character and why?
Here would be where I have trouble. Well, like I already said, I love Tansy in Pearls of Lutra. She's such a sensible little hogmaid that it's very easy to warm up to her and like her. I also love Songbreeze in Marlfox. She has such a sweet, gentle spirit, and I love how she sings! I can just imagine how beautiful her voice would be. biggrin.gif And I like Briony in The Outcast of Redwall because of how determined she is to believe the best of Veil, no matter what he does. She's such a sweet little mouse, it's hard to ever think of that changing.

I've never actually read the series, but I've heard really good things about it. My sister has read all the books I believe. She and my mom have been reading them together for years but for some reason I didn't get into them. How many books are there? I can't remember. Maybe sometime I'll try picking one up and reading it.
