So, who else on here likes goth music?

Goth is far from everything I listen to, but it's probably around 25% of my very exensive music collection. I just love the sound of it, the beats and emotion. I am also a dancer, and I love dancing to goth music, the melodies provoke (sp?) the most wonderous moves.

I personally enjoy the 'older' sounds of the eighties, but some new sounds are swallowed as well. I am always on the outlook for more music, so if anyone has any tips I'm glad to hear it!

I don't know if the music I listen to is true gothic, but the ones I like is Lacuna Coil, Nightwish, Within Temptation, Theater of Tragedy, Sirenia etc. The one I disvovered recently is Dark Sanctuary. They sing mostly in french, but they are amazing. The best way to find similar bands is visiting this site. You type the name of the band, eg Dark Sanctuary, and click Similar artists. I usually visit youtube then and look for songs of those artists I might like. I think it's the best e-way to find new songs.

Gothic music is amazing overall. It's emotional, deep, and it's the best music for winter nights. I'm not sure why I like it so much. But it's always on my playlist.

I'm not a huge fan of the gothic genre, however, I am partial to Nightwish, Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil and Type O Negative.

My favourite bands are Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Alien Sex Fiend and Rosetta Stone. Fairly mainstream/old goth, but I really think they're good:D I was thinking about going to Wave Gotik Treffen next year; it's a huge goth festival in Leipzig (sp?), Germany.
