Hello fellow founder fans! I love everyones repsonse to the Salazar question. Now I have a fun thing for us to do. Now as we have already had the fun of creating a fifth founder. I have another game of creating something.

Create a Helga Hufflepuff original recipe!

***EDIT: No Fan Of The Foursome for May, Sorry!***

Create a Helga Hufflepuff original recipe!

Gee, this is a tough challenge. Okay here goes:

Masque of Mandrake

This potion (when brewed correctly) will provide an instant disguise good for almost any purpose.
Side effects may include but are not limited to: wildly loud shrieking, Halloweenitis, lack of popularity, petrification, green hair, hyperactivity, and in some cases, split personality disorder--you will shift back and forth between guises. Please take extreme care in brewing this and do not under any circumstances use for extended periods of time.

Ingredients:
2 fully matured madrake roots (to disguise voice and for other alterations)
3 tsp. of Felix Felices (for good luck)
8 oz. of Polyjuice Potion with desired hair added (for added strength)
You will need:
At least 2 witnesses (in case something goes wrong)
Instructions: Before you begin, brew the necessary potions. Drink 1 tsp. of the Felix Felices. Mix the Mandrakes (chopped) with the Polyjuice Potion. Boil in the rest of the Felix Felices. Mix well. Drink that. Cast the disillusionment charm over your disguise. Disguise will work, with luck, for about 5 hours...maybe 6.
Please note: The creator of this Potion is not responsible for anything that goes wrong.

So there you have it, my potion recipe. It's not very good admittedly, but I tried. Again, sorry if it's not any good. I hope it's what you meant by that. Sorry for being gone for so long.

Hey! I am not sure how much this relates to the Founders, but I thought we needed something to get us going. I came up with these questions, they're a little random, but I thought they would make some good discussions.

If you could have been one of the Four Founders who would you have been and why? (I know, it's similar to which is your favorite founder; sorry).
I think I would have liked to have been Rowena Ravenclaw, I think she had sort of the right idea in making it a place of learning. And "wit beyond measure" would certainly be a helpful skill to aquire. And after all that's what school's are for! If she hadn't founded Hogwarts, I would have loved having her as one of my teachers in the Muggle world. laugh.gif

What ideas would you contribute to Hogwarts, if you had been one of its creators?
I'm not really sure how to answer this one yet, but I will as soon as I can.

Thank you so much Karina for staying around here and helping get it back up and running. I loved your recipe it was perfect. You nailed it right on. I hope more make Helga recipes. Maybe someone will come up with Slug Salt Cookies or some other crazy thing.

Your questions are also grand. I would love to answer them right now, but I can't stay on long. I only have a enough time to finish this post and check my mail. And I really need to check my mail.

Cookies for every member of FOF!

I would also like to be Rowena Ravenclaw. She seemed like an incredably smart person and seemed to have the right idea about why to build the school.

What ideas would you contribute to Hogwarts, if you had been one of its creators?
I don't think there is really anyhting that I could. I feel that Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff included what I would have which is teaching to be smart and loyal][/font]

If you could have been one of the Four Founders who would you have been and why?

I, like you guys, would have liked to be Rowena Ravenclaw, mostly because I adore Ravenclaw-it rocks! Also, she was very wise and intellectual, skills that I sort of have, but wish to have more of. Ravenclaw was very powerful-like all of the founders I guess-and she never seemed to get into arguments like Godric and Salazar. So, I think she was peaceful and calm. So, peaceful, calm and smart-things I love and want to have/be smile.gif

What ideas would you contribute to Hogwarts, if you had been one of its creators?

If I had been a creator of Hogwarts, I probably would have added in more animals-because I love magical creatures.

I would imagine so, as you are doing far more then I have done in this thread. *hangs head in shame*

My apologies fellow members.

If you could have been one of the Four Founders who would you have been and why?

I would have liked to be Rowena, as intelligience is important to me. Well, I just like having knowledge period. She seems like a well rounded individual, and bears the most resemblance to Hermione who I have admiration for.

What ideas would you contribute to Hogwarts, if you had been one of its creators?

Well, a Dark Arts class, controversial as it is. You do no good to students by not teaching them what they're defending against and why. Not to mention if they were truly going down that path then there's nothing you could really do to stop it. In the school environment, there would be security and you could watch over them.

I'd like to dip into the arts as well, and perhaps music. ^___^

Joey Ravenclaw, you are a member. Here at The "Force Of Four" we go back and use the traditional methods used at Hogwarts. Once one posts, and means it sencerly, they automaticly get put into our files. Sadly our Quick Qoute Quill has been on the fritz and hasn't done its job properly. So we have had to resort in entering the members name by hand. We welcome you, and warhawk-09 to "The Force Of Four." Enjoy your stay!
Sister to the Dark Lord
Dear Merlin, I haven't been around very often. My deepest apologies.

If you could have been one of the Four Founders who would you have been and why?

Hmm, Rowena seems to be a popular choice, so I'll be different and say Salazar Slytherin!

I'd like to be Salazar because I like to be different. Salazar wasn't at all like the other founders, and he was strong when it came to standing up to what he believed in. Also, he seemed to be someone who could get his point across in few words and make sure his point stuck with the person. He was an amazing warlock, and I'd love to have a special chamber all to myself when everyone else got so annoying! Plus, I'd absolutely love to be a Parseltongue: can you imagine how exhilarating that would be?

Cheers,
Ty

If you could have been one of the Four Founders who would you have been and why?
Your are right Sister to the Dark Lord, I want to be someone different also. If I could have been one of the four founders I would have been Helga (a male version Helga). She helped everyone, not only the talented ones. Rowena as you all have stated has a boat load of wits. But she only teaches those who are smart enough for her house. For some odd reason she is, sometimes, a very snooty woman. I always help those who need it, even if everyone will look at me as a idiot. Let me give you an example:

Theres these kids at school (Every school has them), they are special. Sometimes you'll see them making crazy faces and looking quite dumb. Well people luagh and point at them. It makes me mad to see this happen. The main point is Schools keep the special kids together and away from everyone, making them feel stupid by talking to them like they are dumb, etc. Well Helga wouldn't tolerate it. (Now I know schools can't have the few special kids mixed into regular classes, but the way schools do it is just not right.) Helga would treat everone equal. She would make the classes for the mental more, more class like. I hope I haven't just babbled non-sense.

Helga aslo loves to bake, and I have a knack for that myself. Helping bake in the kitchens with the house elves would be so much fun. Except there would be several messes, becuase me and the elves might have a food fight biggrin.gif.

Not only does she cook, care for everyone, she also have cool house colors. And, as the Hufflepuffs have discussed in there wonderful common room, that there common room has huge plushy chairs and a roaring fire, plus a secret entrance to the kitchen. Those thing make me want to relax in Helga's commonroom more than my own...

Sister to the Dark Lord, you are right Parseltongue would be amazing, like you have just one the lottery smile.gif

If you could have been one of the Four Founders who would you have been and why?
i would want to be either Rowena Rawenclaw or Godric Gryffindor (but in a female version) because i think intelligence and bravery is the best things you could be.

What ideas would you contribute to Hogwarts, if you had been one of its creators?
i would try adding more art-sy stuff, like music, art, and ect. also i would have added langauges, like mermish.
Hermione17
If you could have been one of the Four Founders who would you have been and why?

I think Rowena Ravenclaw. I really value my intelligence, I love to learn new things and better myself intellectually. People seem to respect others that are smart. Ravenclaw was highly respected and valued as a founder.

What ideas would you contribute to Hogwarts, if you had been one of its creators?

marauderxforever, I LOVE your idea of adding languages like mermish! That was brilliant!

I'd also like to add more physical fitness. The only Physical fitness is flying. A lot of students aren't good at flying...like Hermione. She absolutely hates it! Archery would be very interesting and maybe even track and field. Those actually might come in handy.

I agree there should also be some sort of musical appreciation. There's no music at Hogwarts. I think music is very important, it moves the soul. And art is a great way to express yourself.

Hi everybody!! Sorry for having posted in so long!

If you could have been one of the Four Founders who would you have been and why?

I would love to be Rowena as well, because I couldn't be any of the others laugh.gif I mean, I'm not as brave as I suppose Godric was, I don't look for personal ambitions at any risk as Salazar and... I don't know cooking as Helga. But I love learning things and working hard to get what I want.

What ideas would you contribute to Hogwarts, if you had been one of its creators?

Oh my, I completely love the idea of adding arts, sports and languages to Hogwarts! Arts and sport helps people to relax and get some distraction, besides it gives the chance to improve to those who are gifted in that; languages are my favourite subject and it's a very useful tool, despite most of people hate them.
Art would be good for Luna, for example: she is clearly interested in art and it would give her free will to experiment with colors and shapes, and create her magical non-existent creatures happy.gif
Sports will give everyone the chance to learn flying, for example, because... well, maybe it was more than the only class we read in SS, but not every people is fond of brooms, and they are a useful transport! And there're more magical sports they could teach; I don't remember any now, lol.
And languages... Ok, it might be difficult, it might be boring and it might be useless, but they could teach some other languages, there's always someone who likes it and decided to get into a deeper study of it!

I would also have added a cemetery to Hogwarts, so the founders would be buried there, and so Dumbledore would, and every other Headmaster that wished it so.
marauderxforever
ohohoh!
i love the idea of sports too! and the cementary! DeSs and Hermione17!
i wish i would have thought of that, i agree with both

If you could have been one of the Four Founders who would you have been and why?
I would have been Slytherin BUT I'd never leave the school. I would have stood my ground and debated with the other co-founders on the importance of pure blood. I am open minded so I think I would have changed my mind after a few hundred years and everything would have been great!
Salazar Slytherin is brave like Gryffindor, smart like Ravenclaw but doesn't think that all people are good natured like Hufflepuf which makes him better because he's more realistic.
Oooh! I never realised how much I liked Slytherin until just now...
What ideas would you contribute to Hogwarts, if you had been one of its creators?
The idea of languages and music is awesome! Also, I'd like a subject on wandlore and on commanding the forces of nature. Professor Flitwick performs a spell to summon the winds when the teachers barricade the school so he could share his knowledge and Mr Olivander could also be hired to teach wandlore.

I think I would be Helga Hufflepuff, because I am goofy and love to just be me. I would be the perfect Hufflepuff or maybe even Hufflepuff's daughter.....that would have been so cool.

What ideas would you contribute to Hogwarts, if you had been one of its creators?

Hmmmm, maybe have French, Spanish, Mexican, etc. Oh maybe have Home Ec. like were you learn how to cook, sew, and clean maigcally. I truely don't know!

What would the founders think about Voldemort's obsession with power and Harry being the chosen one? Would they take sides, if so who's?

This thread has been out of commission for awhile, so hopefully this will jump start us again.

Happy Posting,

What would the founders think about Voldemort's obsession with power and Harry being the chosen one? Would they take sides, if so who's?

Great question...

Well, Griffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw has always been on the good side, so yes, they would take the side of Harry and would try to support Harry by joining the Order and fighting Voldemort to their fullest. Slytherine on the other side would appreciate the power of Voldemort and would encourage him in his Dark activities. I think Voldemort would consider Salazar Slytherine as his mentor and would try to seek as much Dark knowledge about him as possible. And i daresay, Slythrine would be too happy about to impart such knowledge to Voldemort. I also think that while admiring Voldemort's power, Slytherine would soon be jealous of Voldemort and he might want to overpower Voldemort. All Slytherines were, to some extent cunning..

Griffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw would have the same thoughts and ideas about Voldemort's power and Harry as Chosen One as that of Dumbledore.
Hermione17
What would the founders think about Voldemort's obsession with power and Harry being the chosen one? Would they take sides, if so who's?

I think Gryffindor, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff would of been disappointed in the way a real gifted wizard chose to use his powers. I agree that the three of them would rally around Harry, Dumbledore and the Order to stop Voldemort.

I think Slytherin would be very proud that his heir is so powerful and acting on his own beliefs that witches and wizards should only be pure bloods. I think he would do whatever he could to help Voldemort, but I have a feeling Slytherin would help him behind the scenes. I think Slytherin would be worried about his own neck, and the fact that the other founders band together with other powerful wizards might deter Slytherin from fighting in the trenches.

It seems that the evil ones usually do what's best for themselves. They would turn on an evil alley if it meant that they would escape by even the smallest amount.

But there's also this to consider...with the founders still alive, how would Voldemort get their belongings and use them as horcruxes?

Either way you look at it I think Good would triumph over Evil every time.

I apologize for my long absence. I have some time to answer a couple of questions. Good job everyone who has been posting regularly! I will try my best to keep up…if I don’t get too busy.

What ideas would you contribute to Hogwarts, if you had been one of its creators?
I like the idea of adding languages like Mermish, Troll, Gnome, and foreign “Muggle” languages like Spanish, and French, and such--that would be nifty (does anyone say nifty anymore? laugh.gif ) Somebody also mentioned having art classes. Having art classes available would be cool, I love art!
Dess, flying lessons for the non-quidditch players sounds interesting; I don’t think I ever read any other lessons besides first-year either; and I really love your cemetery idea.
Spell-making, I don’t know if anyone has said this before, but that could also be pretty useful and fun to have. Making up your own spells and such, like Snape did in his Potions book! Only maybe not quite so dark spells like Sectumsempra.
Magical Home Economics (housekeeping, cooking, etc.), again, I think somebody mentioned this as well, but it would be handy to learn spells like that. As you can see, I am not very creative, but everyone else sure had great ideas!

What would the founders think about Voldemort's obsession with power and Harry being the chosen one? Would they take sides, if so who's?
Many have said that Salazar would act to his own advantage…and I am not saying that he wouldn’t but, would he really have taken Voldemort’s side if it became apparent to him that although the Dark Lord is power-hungry (and pretty powerful), that Harry could win? I don’t think that he would take the dark side in those kinds of circumstances, regardless of whether or not LV is his heir. Slytherin would just want to take the winning side.
As for the other three founders, I am sure that it would not matter to them who had the power to do what, but rather, who would do what was right. In a sense, I think that they would be proud to take Harry’s side because it was the right side. I especially think that Gryffindor would be particularly proud that the Chosen One was a student from his house.
I also thought it a bit ironic that Slytherin’s locket was destroyed by Gryffindor’s sword…another proof of the bitter rivalry between the two and another reason Godric would be proud of Harry. I think that’s off-topic, though, sorry.

I have been a very bad FOF member. I'm sorry! Please forgive me!

Which witches and wizards would you choose to be the founding four? You can't use Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor or Slytherin. Choose a different four...from the past or present. Explain why you chose those wizards.

Well, first of all, I would choose Bathilda Bagshot (is that how you spell her name? She wrote A History Of Magic, the History of Magic textbook), because she is obviously very intelligent. I myself love history, so I may have a bit of a bias concering her ability to become a founder wink.gif. Next, for obvious reasons, I would choose Albus Dumbledore. He's a great man, and believes that everyone deserves a chance in life, a chance that a school would give. The third founder I would choose would have to be Lily Evans. She was at the top of her class, and she's kind and caring. This is perfect for someone who is founding a school, as they would be working with children daily. And last, certainly least, and you're all going to hate me for this, I would let former Minister for Magic Fudge be the fourth founder. Why? Because we all need comic relief in our lives. A cretin like Fudge would certainly provide that.

Cheers and love,
Ty

HAHA that's funny! I guess someone needs to take the unfortunate spot of Slytherin huh?

Which witches and wizards would you choose to be the founding four? You can't use Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor or Slytherin. Choose a different four...from the past or present. Explain why you chose those wizards.

First I would choose Professor Pomona Sprout. She is a very warm and friendly person. She reminds me a lot of Hufflepuff which is probably why she's head of Hufflepuff house. Professor Sprout cares a lot for her students. Second, I'd pick Albus Dumbledore, for obvious reasons. Dulmbledore is the most powerful wizard. He's wise and intelligent, everyone would benefit from having Dumbledore in the mix. Third, I'd choose Hermione Granger because of her intelligence and relentless love for learning. She's also extremely loyal and would be a great asset to the school. Finally I'd choose Luna Lovegood. We all need a good laugh now and then and she'd definitely bring a different view to Hogwarts. Luna is eccentric, funny and ultimately caring and sweet. There wouldn't be a boring day at Hogwarts.

If I had to choose someone to take Slytherin's spot...i think I'd pick Lucius Malfoy because his views are just as extreme as Slytherin's.

Okay, first I'm doing this without viewing other answers. So we can see a real occurrence. The one who would have made a Ravenclaw would have been Hermione. She is down to earth, smart and thinks school becomes most things, except friends. This is my Ravenclaw.

For the Gryffindor, Harry. He puts friends and bravery first. In school, he thinks of his friends and his role in the Wizarding Community. It is this that he would have picked strong, loyal and brave people.

Neville for a Hufflepuff type one. Not being mean. He would pick those of who are loyal, true to themselves and friendly. Determined.

And maybe...a Slytherin for............ I do not know...
WarriorMistress
Which witches and wizards would you choose to be the founding four? You can't use Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor or Slytherin. Choose a different four...from the past or present. Explain why you chose those wizards.

Interesting question. I would choose Albus Dumbledore to be the Ravenclaw founder. I know that he wasn't a Ravenclaw, but I picture him this way very easily. No one can deny him his knowledge and wisdom. In my opinion, he's more analitycal and thinks things through like a Ravenclaw would. Gryffindors are more hot-headed. They act more on their bravery than on logical thinking. Dumbledore calculated everything, planned things ahead. It's a Ravenclaw trait.

For Gryffindor, it would be Sirius. As a young boy he might have been very reckless and not your perfect founder type, but he matured with age, as most people do. And the time spent in Azkaban hasn't left him without a trace of his nightmare. In result, his temper cooled down a bit, but he still had that flame in him that made him put others' lives before his own and act like a Gryffindor hero would. A perfect combination.

As for Hufflepuff, the first person that comes to my mind is Hagrid. He's very loyal and friendly. His behaviour screams Hufflepuff for me. But he's not someone I'd imagine to be a founder, so this leaves me with nothing. I'd say Cedric Diggory, but we know too little about him and he's too young. But if he'd survived, he'd make a good founder in my opinion.

Snape would be a good choice for Slytherin. I've read several posts about him being a better Gryffindor, but I don't quite agree. He was snotty and his snideful remarks made him unfittable for a Gryffindor. He was very cunning, able to fool the Dark Lord himself. But on the other hand, he had people that he cared about and wanted to protect. This combination of wisdom, sarcasm and loyalty makes him a perfect founder.

What ideas would you contribute to Hogwarts, if you had been one of its creators?

As a big fan of foreign languages, I completely agree with the idea of teaching Mermish and other languages, magical or Muggle ones.

There's a Muggle Studies class, but there isn't a Wizard Studies class. I believe there should be. We know how magical world works in Britain, but how about India? Or Mexico? Japan? There have to be wizards and witches living in those countries and they're sure to have their own schools and societies. I'd like to find out how they function.

If you could have been one of the Four Founders who would you have been and why?

I would have to say that I would be Rowena! wub.gif I'm not very brave, at least in the extroverted kind of way--if anything, it's a very quiet bravery. I could care less about how pure somebody's blood is, and regardless, I'm not very cunning. I am loyal and friendly, but I still think that I would be better off as Rowena. I love learning and knowledge for its own sake, and would be much more drawn to that than anything else. I get lost in books all the time! blush.gif

What ideas would you contribute to Hogwarts, if you had been one of its creators?

I agree, I love the idea of teaching different languages, both Muggle and wizard! Mermish would be a good one to learn, especially since they can practice with the merpeople in the lake. Troll or goblin might be interesting to learn in Advanced Study, although the practical difficulties of obtaining a troll might overwhelm the interest base (I'm sure Hermione would want to learn, though! tongue.gif ).

I also think some kind of World Wizard Studies class would be brilliant because they don't really get any exposure to wizards outside Great Britain. The only exposure is during the Triwizard Tournament with the delegations from Durmstrang and Beauxbatons. Maybe in relationship to the class, they could also institute a foreign exchange program? You could spend a month in a different wizarding school, learning about the culture there, both magic and Muggle...that would be awesome. happy.gif

And they really should have more classes related to "Muggle" subjects. What about an English class or a math class? They're living in the Muggle world, they need more than just Muggle Studies for the things that pertain to both Muggles and witches and wizards. And I think Muggle Studies should be expanded for things like Chemistry, or Non-Magical History.

And I agree that art and music classes would be awesome. wub.gif There's nothing wrong with exploring your artistic side, especially if you have to do it without magic! Hmm, they could even have two different units--learning the spells associated with art or music, and then learning how to do it themselves without that benefit.

Which witches and wizards would you choose to be the founding four? You can't use Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, Gryffindor or Slytherin. Choose a different four...from the past or present. Explain why you chose those wizards.

I'm going to entirely choose students, I think...tongue.gif

For Hufflepuff, I pick Neville Longbottom. I know he was a Gryffindor, and he is very brave, but I think that he would be a good founder of those who are just, loyal, and good friends. He would be a credit to that House!

For Ravenclaw, it's a tie between Luna Lovegood and Hermione Granger. Perhaps they could be co-Founders? happy.gif I think that they both would bring something valuable to the guidance of that House. Luna would bring her refreshing open-mindedness and Hermione would bring her love of book-knowledge. I think all good Ravenclaws need a dose of both!

For Gryffindor, I pick another pair of Founders--Fred and George Weasley! They would bring a very...interesting sense of humor to the hot-headedness of most Gryffindors, I think, and of course, they exemplify the traditional Gryffindor traits, anyways!

And for Slytherin, I have a probably controversial pick--Harry Potter. blush.gif The Sorting Hat did say that he could go into either Slytherin or Gryffindor, and even though he chose to be in Gryffindor, I think if he was the Founder of Slytherin, he could bring a new idea and thought to the House. He wouldn't be bothered about only having pure-bloods and that could vitalize Slytherin--and he would also bring some more ethics to the House, maybe? Not that most Slytherins aren't ethical, but he definitely wouldn't turn a blind eye if somebody was being bad or Dark for no reason other than self-advancement.
