Every character in the Harry Potter series has there own unique wand. We know some of them but not all of them. The four features that are used to describe a wand consist of the type of wood, the core, the length and the general resistance of the wood.

I've always tried to imagined what type of wand different characters in the book would have (for the ones we don't know). So I thought it would be fun if we could try to come up with some different ideas about what wands different character would have.

Some ground rules before we start so things don't get out of hand. I think it would be best that we stick strictly to Canon Ollivander wand cores (unicorn tail hair, dragon heartstring and phoenix tailfeather). I know how some people like to create all sorts of crazy cores but I think that we should be respectful of the characters and what J.K.Rowling has created so just use the main ones.

I'll start the ball rolling. I always imagined that Severus Snape would have this wand: Ebony, Unicorn Tailhair, eleven and a half inches, rather stiff. Ebony because it's a very dark wood (Snape's love of the Dark Arts), Unicorn Tailhair because deep down there is something genuine and kind about Snape (even though it's pretty hidden), the length because I always imaged him to be of average height and stiff because for the most part Snape's character is pretty ridged and unyielding most of the time (especially when teaching smile.gif).

You don't have to give as much of an explanation as I have if you don't want but a little bit would be nice. Just to help others see what you are seeing.

OK everyone. Your turn. What wands do you imagine characters have and why?
