Luna Lovegood was sitting in a train compartment alone, reading The Quibbler. She was wearing spectrespecs, which was pushed all the way up her nose. Suddenly, the compartment door slid open.
"Oh, hi, Luna," a boy said. He had a round face and he was grinning happily.
"Hello, Neville!" Luna said enthusiastically. She smiled a dazed smile at him and returned back to reading her newspaper. It was upside down, as usual.
"W-Would you mind if I sit here?" Neville asked, already sliding the compartment door closed. He sat across from Luna, staring at her, apparently waiting for her response.
Luna shook her head and smiled at him over her newspaper.
"How's the Quibbler?" Neville asked. He didn't know what to say.
"Oh, it's going pretty well! Daddy just finished publishing an article with a real picture of a Crumple-Horned Snorkack. We took it this summer when we were in vacation in Majorca!" Luna said happily. She was very happy that someone was finally interested in Crumple-Horned Snorkacks.
Neville nodded, looking down at his hands.
"Lonely, isn't it, without Harry, Ron, or Hermione?" Luna asked.
Neville shifted uncomfortably in his seat. "Yeah." he said. "I just wish they would tell us what they were up to. I know it's got something to do with You-Know-Who... I just know it!"
"Yes. I do believe in it too," Luna said, removing her spectrespecs and laying her newspaper on her lap. "Luckily, we'll have more adventures here, just me and you, won't we?"
Neville nodded cheerfully. "Yeah," he grinned. "I promise! Hey..."
"Hey?" Luna said dreamily.
"Remember when Harry said he didn't need us to have D.A. meetings anymore?"
Luna nodded. "I really liked them. I hope we --"
Neville cut across her accidentally. "What if you and I start it again? We'll invite everyone at Hogwarts that are still here, and hopefully, when it's almost the end, D-Dumbledore's Army will all be recruited and ready to fight!"
Luna grinned at Neville. "Oh, definitely! That sounds like a great idea! Finally, someone that doesn't sound like they have a Wrackspurt in their head."
Neville smiled back at her. "Do you think... we can recruit some members right now?"
"That's a great idea, Neville." Luna said, already picking up her newspaper. She flipped it upside down again as Neville stood up.
"I'll be back," Neville said. He walked out of the compartment door.
Wow, that was so easy to talk to her, Neville thought. It was almost as if my dreams were coming true.
