Hi! this is my first Song Fic so tell me what u think of it! I love this song b/c i sang it in my middle school choir. So tell me what u think!
---------------------------------------------------------------
In the quiet misty morning when the moon has gone to bed,
When the sparrows stop their singing and the sky is clear and red.
He sat up in bed, glancing out of the window watching the sun rising steadily in the sky. The reds, oranges, and yellow of the sun spread across the green horizon, filling the blue sky with light.
When the summer’s ceased its gleaming,
When the corn is past its prime,
The bright red and orange leaves on the trees swayed with the morning breeze. Occasionally a single leaf floated to the ground.
When adventure’s lost its meaning,
I’ll be homeward bound in time.
Nothing else mattered today except his and hers big step into the future. The battle was a distant memory not to be brooded on today.
Bind me not to the pasture; chain me not to the plow.
Set me free to find my calling and I’ll return to you somehow.
She looked out of her own window. She did not know what to think. From now on she would be with him. They would be bounded together by a special type of magic. He knew she was strong willed.
If you find it’s me you're missing, if you’re hoping I’ll return.
To your thoughts I’ll soon be list’ning, and in the road I’ll stop and turn.
She tried to picture her life if she wasn’t with him. Her white veil flowed from her head as her friend smiled at her. The ring sparkled on her finger reflecting light that danced through her elegantly styled hair.
Then the wind will set me racing as my journey nears its end.
And the path I’ll be retracing when I’m homeward bound again.
He pictured that long period of time he wasn’t with her. Those times didn’t seem real as he waited at the end of the long carpet. His heart burst with sadness as he remembered those dark days and the pull he had to her during those close moments.
Bind me not to the pasture; chain me not to the plow.
Set me free to find my calling and I’ll return to you somehow.
She had always known that there was a chance that they would probably not of made it to this day. She had let him go hoping, praying, and wishing he would come back safely to her waiting arms.
In the quiet misty morning when the moon has gone to bed,
When the sparrows stop their singing,
They looked at each other. They’re eyes sparkling into each others as they faintly heard the concluding song of a special bird they had heard only three times in their lives.
I’ll be homeward bound again.
They kissed feeling the sparks fly as they knew, with the bottom of their hearts, that this was right.
