Now you've seen the movie, who would you say gave the best performance?
Was it Rupert Grint with his comedic scenes after eating Romildas love potion laden chocs?
Was it Tom Felton playing the tortured soul trying to carry out the Dark Lords bidding in fear for his life?
Or was it Dan Radcliffe?
Someone else?
And whose performance left you feeling colder than a wet weekend in Wales?
One of the above?
Let us know your thpoughts here.

I'm not a fan of Daniel Radcliffe, I think he can't act, but in this film I have to say he surpassed himself. He made me laugh several times and it just shows that he really has developed as an actor amd now I can finally say that yes, he is good at his job
Rupert was amazing as usual, need I say more? Everything he did and said was perfect

so congrats to him!
Tom Felton did a very good job at having a bigger role than in the previous films. He made me sympathise with Draco.
Michael Gambon was really good too, the cave scene gave me the creeps.
Emma was spectacular too, and so was Broadbent, and well... really everyone was so great! I loved the film! It was fantastic!

I have much to say about this movie, but seeing as this topic is the best and worst performances, I will share my thoughts on this subject.
I thought that Tom Felton and Alan Rickman executed the best performances in this film.
There performances outdid words and them together made for excelent showing

I was genuinely proud of the two of them among all the other actors in the film who did wonderful as always.
And it doesn't help that Tom Felton is quite a dashing young fellow.

Rupert Grint and Tom Felton really blossomed in this one. Their performances were great!
Helena Bonham Carter was great, yet again, as Bellatrix.
In the Burrow scene, running through the field singing "I killed Sirius Black!" really made me remember the OotP.
Emma Watson was brilliant in this one, I thought. Better performance from her than ever before..
The whole cast were brilliant!! Can't really fault anyone!

Best performance in HBP goes hands down to Rupert Grint! This was the first time since I watched him in the first film that I enjoyed his character and his portrayal of Ron. I laughed so hard and also felt the anguish of tension between what he was doing with Lavendar and wanting to hook up with Hermione. Definitely two thumbs up!
On a more sour note, I loved Snape and Dumbledore's characters but in this film was sorely disappointed. This was Snapes movie to shine. He was after all the Half Blood Prince who finally got his precious DADA teaching position. He was the "villian" on the tower and the man who was supposed to verbally assault Harry while showing him how inept he still was as a wizard during the escape and I didn't see any of that. I expected more from Alan Rickman and was left feeling disappointed. I know I have very high expectations from this actor but that is because he is the perfect blend of sarcastic wit and evil that is perfect for this role. Totally didn't see it though.
I thought that out of all the movies, Michael Gambon's tendency to overact in scense would have been thoroughly appreciated in this film. Especially in the cave and on the Astronomy tower. Again, I was left feeling almost no emotion as I watched the cave scene. I didn't get a sense of how dreadful drinking that potion was and a feeble whisper of 'all my fault' didn't give me that emotion. I was hoping to see the vulnerability after that-the physically weakened state of Dumbledore the great hero and was disappointed that they left out the lines
"I am not worried, Harry," said Dumbledore, his voice a little stronger despite the freezing water. "I am with you."
HBP pg. 578 (US version)
This would have shown the audience how dependent DD was on Harry. Also in the Astronomy tower. I expected Gambon to show his strength in conveying verbally to Malfoy his ability to still protect him while simultaneously conveying to the audience that he truly was physically weak and dying. Instead I felt a flatness and lack of energy in the character. There was so sense of struggle between the DD who felt he still could help Draco and the DD who knew his time was limited.

^ i agree with you on your point regarding snape and dd. my nonbook friends were like wondering how the heck is this movie called HBP? snape revealed himself to be HBP but then that was it. i thought snape wouldve been given more parts in this movie. especially the last scene. where was the elusive "don't call me coward" line? and dd's death scene felt absolutely empty i cant help but to feel sorely disappointed with it. i was sort of okay with the other parts being left out, although i wouldve liked for the horcrux details to be included as well. but the final 30 minutes was..... cold. probably i'm like expecting too much since the book's scene was majestic.
best performance would probably be felton, jessie cave and the trio as per usual. i thought the teenage riddle was genuinely wicked. definitely the show stealer for me

I thought that Tom Felton'e performance as Draco was absolutely brilliant. He showed us a side of him that we have never seen before in other movies. As the movie progressed, I could see just how tortured Malfoy was at his decision. I wish that he would have had more speaking parts though, like when he was in the bathroom, and he started crying, my heart broke for him, but the crying scene was cut short by Harry's entrance. I also felt for him when he was lying on the flooded bathroom floor crying in pain because of what Harry had unknowingly done. On the Astronomy Tower scene, you could feel Draco's pain as he slowly began to crumble, and he cried out to Dumbledore "He will kill me and my family", his eyes were red from crying alot. I just wish that his Astronomy Tower scene had had more dialogue between him and Dumbledore, before Snape showed up. And then the way Draco was told by Snape to "Get out of here" and Draco just numbly left, then Harry followed suit chasing them.
I loved Tom's performance, I just wish he had more verbal lines, and longer scenes. I really learned to respect him more as a charactor, he showed his vulnerable side and showed that he actually had a heart and a conscience.

I actually think the best performances in the film were by smaller characters like Lavendar and Draco. Granted Draco became a major player inthis film, but he was amazing in his role. He definitely deserves some more credit. Lavendar was just casted perfectly.

I Loved Emma Watson in this film! She didn't overdo the Ron situation, her acting has greatly improved and I really enjoyed watching her.
The same goes for Dan and Rupert. I love funny Rupert was in this film. He definitely made me laugh!
Tom Felton was just as brilliant. I'm so glad he played such a larger role in this film. He always used to be a sort of back ground character and this movie was alot about him. Not as much as the book, but still, it was interesting to watch his role expand and to really see his acting skills.
I didn't like the two twin Slytherin girls at Slughorns parties. Who are they? Where did they come from? I don't understand this director.
One performance I didn't care for was Lavender Brown. There were moments when the actress got the role spot on and others where I thought it was awkward. For instance in Potions when a group of girls were smelling the Amorentia potion. Lavender was the only one to look possessed instead of smelling what attracts her. When the group of girls back away, Lavender's head is shaking like she's going through withdraw and the other girls just look disappointed that Slughorn covered the cauldron. I don't know, it was just weird to me. And when Ron and Lavender broke up, she looked like she was about to murder him in the great hall, it was a little funny...but it started to freak me out. To me it seemed a bit over done.
I feel okay with the performance of Dumbledore. It wasn't his best, but not to bad. Snape, I feel the same way. These are two very dynamic characters and they both seemed to fall a little flat. I don't know how much of that is the actors or how much of it is the director and how he wanted to portray the film. There should have been more confrontations between Snape and Harry, that would have brought out Snape's character a lot more. And the same goes for Dumbledore.

I was sorely disappointed in the lack of emotion in this film. While i still maintain that the trio can not act to save their lives, i must admit that Rupert Grint did much better than i anticipated. His physical comedy was exactly what was needed. He lacked the ability to portray the conflicting emotions between himself and Emma Watson. This is supposed to be the film were we really see that ron and hermione have strong feelings for each other.
Daniel Radcliffe was horrible. i still maintain that he was the worst choice of actor to portray such a vivacious storyline. The only part that he actually shined was the scene where all the students where at the bottom of the tower in a half circle surrounding dumbledore's body and Radcliffe carefully moves his beard off his face. That was THE ONLY well acted part.
Emma Watson? Nothing i couldnt find in an amateur junior high school play.
Michael Gambon disappointed. A phenomenal actor with an amazing character and he could not pull it off. This is suppose to be Dumbledore's final moment and last chance to set all his plans in motion and his performance was dreadfully flat.
Alan Rickman was a mess. He showed emotion when he didn't need to. For example, after he makes the unbreakable vow. WTF? and the end when he is battling Radcliffe, he is suppose to be emotionally torn by what he just did. and he was like whatever!!! his performance angered me more than anything they left out!!!

Daniel Radcliffe really stole the show for me. He was cheeky, funny and really confident like never before. All his performances are enjoyable but this one was really brilliant.
Rupert Grint is always brilliant! And he really made t he promised comedy quidditch stand out.
I really loved Frank Dillane as 16 year old Riddle. He really lived up to the character. I was always sketchy about them replacing Christian Coulson but Frank was a really excellent find on the studio's part.

Tom Felton- really emotional, it was quite convincing, and I was happily surprised.
Daniel Radcliffe- Excellent. Really good.
Emma Watson- She was good. Better than her previous Potter films, I must say.
Alan Rickman-I know I've said this before and I still think it, but I think Alan Rickman did a wonderful job. Some scenes could have had more emotion, but he's a spectacular actor, that has to be the fault of someone else. The writer or something. Wow, I'm so biased.
Jim Broadbent- He was by far the best actor in the show. I loved him, he's exactly (minus the appearance) the way Slughorn was in the book.

So, Tom Felton was pretty much fantastic. Dan, meh, Emma, fantastic, and Ron wasn't there as much (it was lots of Harry and Hermione, even at the end scene, Ron's kinda there, but not, and just for the record, the whole Harry being Hermione's best friend line, yeah, that made me cry).
The adults were good, as per usual. Maggie Smith and Alan Rickman are my pantheon. They are sooooo good, and I realized, I'd never want Dumbledore, McGonagall, or Snape mad at me, ever. That'd be scaawy!
The kid Riddle is creepy. He's also the nephew of the awesomeness that does the Dark Lord. Yosh! Creeptastic!
Ok, lemme rephrase from above. Dan's good, and he's always been good. Just, Tom Felton was amazing and we rarely get to see that, which is sad.
And since the first Dumbledore was the best, Michael Gamdon did good, but the first was soo dumbledore, he was amazing! His voice was rather old, breaking, and he was just Dumbledore! So, in the end, we just remember that the first dumbledore died long ago. Tears.
And, Helena Bonham Carter is always amazing, always. Same with the rest of those crazy adults (I don't feel like using names right now, too many) though the whole thing with Lupin and Tonks already being together was weird. And her hair was weird too. I don't think many people made the connection that it was her. Twas weird.
Anyways, yeah, the only performances I'm disapointed in really were that Rupert wasn't there save for comedy and ****ing off Hermione, which he did rather well. Luna needed more cause she's always awesome and why was Katie Bell in potions with Harry if she's a seventh year? And Neville, Cho Chang, Dean and Seamus, and far too many other people were in that potions class. That made me confuzzled and I need to check how many of those peeps were actually supposed to be there. So, that's it, I guess, for now.

HELENA BONHAM CARTER by far. she is an amazing actress and played insane and wicked oh so well. her characterisation could not be done better.
i felt in this movie hermione shone through a little bit more, not only because she was in it a bit more, but just a general improvement on emma watsons behalf as well. and ive always loved hermione as a character so its good to see her shining.

Rupert Grint - ahh well the love potion scene and the scene followeing were magnificent. and as people have mentioned already, his physical humour is that which he has not shown before and is quite outstanding.
Tom Felton was extraordinary. so good to finally get a taste of his acting in this movie. the last scene was intense. although i must say he seemed to look about thirty? which i suppose tyes in with the stress and anguish he was feeling throughout the movie.
Luna was loverly as per usual and the adults gave good performances once again.
must just say that this DD.. well.. i dont know.. i mean of course we all prefer the original. but i thinkt he problem is that in the books DD is supposed to be a kindly kwise gentleman and a very loving character. especially to harry. this was portrayed perfectly by the original, but the one now.. i dont know.. hes too cold for the part? he makes DD almost.. evil?
just my thoughts..

Ginny was pretty wooden! But I loved Dan's scene when he's under the potion because it showed he can actually act. Nice for Tom Felton to have a bit more of a role

All the adults were great as always. I think Gambon played DD just right actually, after all he's not as loving to Harry as we are all lead to believe

If i could give an award to anyone in this movie, i would give it to Tom Felton who played Draco Malfoy - he was the best actor in this movie by far. It was the first time that i actually felt the characters pain and wanted to help him (something which has never really happened to me before with the movies, apart from harry's pain at sirius' death at the beginning of HBP which was also done really well). He was absolutely outstanding in this movie
My second award would go to Rupert Grint who plays Ron Weasley - what can i say - he was hilarious!

Best acting ive ever seen him do

Helena Bonham Carter is my favourite female actress in the whole HP movie franchise and in this movie i thought she played Bellatrix amazingly well too

I loved that she was so manic at the Weasley's house and i just thought it was yet another wonderful performance.
And pretty much everyone else did a really good job, notably harry when he drank the felix felicis

But Draco definetley stole the show

I think by far hands down that Tom Felton did an amazing job playing Draco. I cant say that his performances in the past 5 movies were great but he couldn't have done a better job in this one. I would also have to say the Alan Rickman did an amazing job in this one as well but he has did a great job in all the movies before this as well.
I would have to say that Rupert Grint made the next best performance he has really improved over the 6 movies and I was really impressed with how he performed. I especially the scene where he had accidently taken the love potion he made the part seem funny.
Emma Watson did a great job in the movie as well. She did a superb job showing her feelings toward ron and she didn't over do it either. I would also have to say that Daniel Radcliffe also did a good job. This was his best performance yet. this movie really showed me that he has some acting ability and the scene where he drank the Felix Felicis he made the part really funny and it was just how I pictured it as I read the book. I will also have to say that Bonnie Wright who plays Ginny did a really good job too.
The only person I was disappointed though with was Jessie Cave who played the part of Lavender Brown it just seemed to me like a very amateur performance. And it was as if this was her first performance and she over did her part I think personally.
Overall though I was really impressed with everyones performances.

Emma Watson and Tom Phelps were outstanding, in my opinion. Especially Tom, he portrayed the internal struggle very well in the minimal screen time he had.
Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint also had amazing performances, very, very entertaining to watch. Daniel did a spectacular job, especially with his huge range of scenes (Deep, dark, comedic, romantic).
One actress I was slightly disappointed with was Bonnie Wright. I don't know what it was, but the whole love for Harry thing was a bit too corny in the way she portrayed it. You could see the connection, but it was awkward watching her with the way she was saying her lines at some points. But, she did have some very good scenes besides those
Did anybody else see this?

I genuinely believe that all the actors have improved since their last appearance, especially Harry, Ron and Hermione. The sweet charm that got them through the first few had worn off by Goblet of Fire; there is some half-decent acting now, thank goodness.
Gambon and Snape were on form, though didn't get enough screen time for the critical scenes i.e. the cave and the astronomy tower. McGonnagall and Hagrid were generally underused, along with Lupid and Tonks. Much as I love Jim Broadbent, he does tend to play the genial gent - it was good to see him do something more... complicated, for want of a better word. Just wish he'd had the moustache! ;-)
Tom Felton has been good throughout the series playing the bully, but here we saw him come in to his own. He did a hell of a lot with comparatively few lines - if only JKR had expanded his character earlier on, we would've seen more of his talents.
I thought Lavender Brown was very, very funny - especially when she's grasping the spoon with the hateful look of a wronged woman.
Ginny was okay given the limited amount of material she had, but I wish Neville and Luna had featured a bit more. Kind of makes their inclusion in the OOTP a bit superfluous. Fred and George likewise - oh, and leaving out the "You-no-poo" joke was criminal. I am considering pressing charges.

While in general I thought the film was a trainwreck, the acting was good. I thought even though she only had a small part Evanna Lynch as Luna stole every scene she was in. In particular, the scene where she and harry are walking back to the castle after she discovers him on the train. Harry says something along the lines of "Sorry you missed the coach because of me" and she replies "That's all right, I don't mind walking. This is almost like having a friend"
She captured the pathos that surrounds Luna perfectly, just the right wistful tone in her voice, a truly touching scene and one probably overlooked.

Daniel Radcliffe - I thought he was amazing! He has started to become consistent in bringing us great performances. When he was under felix felicis I was laughing the entire time. He has definately improved his acting abilities.
Emma Watson - She was considerably better in this movie than she was in the others. That alone makes me have to say Bravo!
Rupert Grint - Funny as always! I loved how he acted when he was under the love potion and also throughout the whole movie as well. Great performance as well.
Maggie Smith and Alan Rickman - They own their parts! I can't see anyone but them playing the parts of McGonagall and Snape.
Micheal Gambon - He played Dumbledore's character better this time around. There were actually moments where I believed he was Dumbledore. But of course, we just can't forget how Richard Harris played the part, yet still, for once, I think Gambon almost lived up to the part. Kudos!
Evanna Lynch - I just love her as Luna that's all I have to say.
Jim Broadbent - I like him and think that he did a good job as Professor Slughorn.
Jessie Cave - Um, I don't know whether it was just bad acting or her character is just supposed to be really anooying (I'm thinking the latter), I just didn't really like her character in this film or her acting.
However Bonnie Wright gets the award for worst performance. Her acting was flat and she showed little to no emotion. When she had to yell for everyone to shut up during the Quidditch trials, the yell was weak, timid, and unbelievable. I didn't feel like she had any sort of control. If I was there, I would have ignored her and kept talking. And when she whispered "close your eyes" to Harry in the room of requirement, I was officially weirded out!
On the other hand, the best performance by far goes to Tom Felton. He was just great. He really brought Draco's character to life in this film and the way he portrayed him allowed us to sympathize with him and understand the stress and the pressure his character was under. It was a different side of Draco. Instead of being a bully, he was vulnerable and scared and I think Tom did a great job making it all look believable.

I think that Tom Felton absolutely outdid himself. I'm glad that, of all the things that David Yates cut from this movie, he included Draco's emotional struggles and built on the complexities of his character. For his part, Felton did a spectacular job embodying Draco and making me sympathize with him.
I also enjoyed Alan Rickman's performance. Another poster mentioned that they were disappointed in Rickman because major details and crucial dialogue were omitted from the film, but the fault there lies completely with David Yates. Alan Rickman did a wonderful job with what he had to work with.
I also enjoyed watching Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint get a chance to stretch their comedic muscles. They also did a good job!
On a negative note, I thought that Jessie Cave's performance was absolutely atrocious. Lavender Brown is shallow and annoying, but she's not the snivelling fool that was portrayed in the movie. I sincerely hope that she wasn't instructed to play Lavender in that manner... if so, she was ill-advised.

I thought Rupert Grint was HILARIOUS in this one esp. with the love potion scenes but I always saw that he was good at comedy so I wasn't too surprised. I think he's a really natural actor.
I WAS surprised to see how funny Daniel Radcliffe could be (I think this is best shown when the drinks the liquid luck in the scene with Hagrid, Slughorn and the spider when he does the imitation of the spider's pinchers). I thought it was great.
Emma Watson- I always thought she was GREAT in the first two films and then still good but not as good in the following films but I think she did very very well in this one, a huge improvement. I really saw her as Hermione in this one.
I also thought Tom Felton and Alan Rickman gave great performances. Bonnie Wright did well as Ginny. I thought the whole cast was good really, I can't even think to say who gave the worst performance.

My best performance goes to Tom Felton, I've always been impressed with him but this was by far his best performance... anytime he was on one of my friends sitting next to me wouldn't shut up about what an amazing actor he was haha.
Honorable mentions: Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, Emma Watson, Helena Bonham Carter, and Daniel Radcliffe.
My worst performance goes to Bonnie Wright... she has never had any serious film time before and for good reason. She was corny, awkward, and timid in her portrayal of Ginny.
Honorable mention: Jessie Cave

Well firstly I have to say how over these film I love how we've saw all the original cast, Dan, Rupert, Emma, Tom etc. really develop as actors over the years! I mean they were adorable in the first film, and as good as you could expect from a bunch of previously unknown 11 year olds. Compare that to now and you can really see the way they've found their comfort zone's and fully developed as real actors !

But in this film, specific credit should go out to Tom Felton! He really embraced his larger role with open arms, and after years of seeing the fearless bad guy in him he allowed us to see the other side of Draco, the young boy struggling to fullfill a task to hard for him. And he done it brilliantly you could really feel Draco's dilema when he was up in that tower with DD at the end!
Emma Watson! I thought her performance with the whole Ron thing was great! That scene after the Quidditch with her and Harry, was brilliant, and again you could really tell how the character was feeling!

Alan Rickman as always played and exellent Snape! As much as I hate Snape, I love Alan Rickman
as Snape!

Dan under that felix felicis potion was brilliant. I couldnt stop lauging !
As always though the whole cast was brilliant!

I think one of the best preformances in the movie was by Tom Felton, he really grasped the character. Another great preformance was by Jim Broadbent he really was a great Slughorn.
In my opinion the worst preformance was by the girl who played Lavender Brown, i feel that her character in the book was much better than it was in the movie.
Thanks!!

In my opinion, Rupert Grint gave the best performance in the whole movie. I also loved the girl who played Lavender Brown, she was so clingy and annoying and played the part perfectly. And Helena Bonham Carter once again gave a spectacular performance as Bellatrix Lestrange. The rest of the cast did well too, but the ones I mentioned above did the best in my opinion.

The entire cast were brilliant in my opinion- I don't think I could see anyone else playing any of the roles. Jim Broadbent simply melted into the role of Slughorn- his demeanour was perfect. And of course, as discussed above, Tom Felton was fantastic handling the much more dominant role of Draco Malfoy.
Of course there were some weaker moments shall we say; some downright cringing. All in all, however, the performance was strong.

I'd have to say that Tom Felton made a definite improvement from previous movies. Dan and Rupert were great as well, especially under the effects of Felix Felicis and Amortentia. I was actually pleased with Michael Gambon's performance, which is surprising, because i usually hate him. Evanna Lynch was amazing as usual. And Jim Broadbent and Robbie Coltrane were absolutely hilarious.
As for bad performances, i'd have to say Jessie Cave and Emma Watson. way too overdone. oh well.

Absolutely agree with your take on the Cast, however, I'd say we can't blame Bonnie Wright for her "just all right" acting. The screenplay writers are at fault
but quite frankly, I really loved that scene where she silenced the Quidditch team. It was.. great, for lack of a better word

Stressed how supportive she was of Harry.
Most noteworthy performance must be awarded to Emma Watson.
This was her best since HP one/three. Her eyebrows have certaintly calmed down a tad bit and she's just amazingly spot on this one.

I don't see why Bonnie deserves an excuse here for her portrayal of Ginny. Every other cast member had to read the exact same words that the screen writers wrote for them and performed them incredibly well. If Bonnie fell flat, it's all on her. Her lack of emotion ruined her acting.

[size=5] Helena Bonham-Carter was terrific as Bellatrix. There was no better choice for that role. The trio were all impoved in this movie. Emma especially. I love rupert, he did a terrific job, and tom did a really good job in his bigger part. I also liked Bonny Wright. she did pretty good. They should have done more with dumbledore and snape though. that final scene was kind of a let down.

Correct me if I'm wrong for I'm only seen the movie once, but I do believe that any time Ginny spoke it was only one or two lines. You can't do a whole lot with one line. I think she may have tried, but in her defense, she wasn't given a lot to work with. I thought her character got shafted. As did Neville's. And Snape.
Bellatrix is actually starting to bug me. I know her character is a bit nutty, but I really wish that Helena Bonham Carter would shut up. Normally I like her a lot, but I find her exceptionally obnoxious in the HP films.

I agree with Just the Droobles about Bellatrix, she is really irritating me! I too normally like Helena Bonham Carter but I really do not like the way she plays Bellatrix, she plays her too, manic and insane. I know Bellatrix is a bit insane, but not in the way Helena Bonham Carter plays her.
I really enjoyed Tom Felton's performance as Draco Malfoy. I thought it was a difficult part to pull off in this film, but he did it brilliantly, with such emotion.
This was the first movie that Dumbledore's performance met my expectations. I've never been a fan of Michael Gambon as Dumbledore, but I think he did alright in this film.

I don't see why Bonnie deserves an excuse here for her portrayal of Ginny. Every other cast member had to read the exact same words that the screen writers wrote for them and performed them incredibly well. If Bonnie fell flat, it's all on her. Her lack of emotion ruined her acting.
And Snape.
I'm sorry but I disagree. I don't understand why someone such as Evanna can come in, say one or two lines, and everyone still feel that she performs her character well where as Bonnie, who was clearly given more lines in this film, can't do the same and own her character. Of course, it is a matter of opinion, and in my opinion, Bonnie was emotion-less and almost robotic. I didn't feel the excitment in her voice when Harry first arrived to the burrow. I didn't feel the strength and control in her voice when she told everyone to hush up during the trials. I've only seen the movie once as well, but I still feel that Bonnie's acting was rather poor. In a movie where everyone else seemed to shine, she left me cold.

I just returned home from the movie and had a 30 minute car ride to reflect. I agree with some posters that this was Snape's movie to shine, yet, he was rarely even on screen. I don't fault him for his performance, he was hardly ever there...
My biggest gripe is with Michael Gambon as Dumbledore. I just don't feel like he portrays the same quiet, caring Dumbledore that JKR has written about. I have really been disappointed in his past three performances. He doesn't capture the true essence of Dumbledore as I portray him in my mind. I have read the books numerous times and he is definitely not the same Dumbledore that I read about.
With each movie I become more impressed with the trio. They do a nice job together and make the movie enjoyable. I also feel that Tom Felton was great, as many of you have already mentioned.

Hmm, to me, Tom Felton and Helena Boham Carter really stood out, even for the little Carter was in there. She's a phanomanal (sp?) actress, in my opinion, in her deep, dark characters she plays. And Tom was finally given his spot light, and it was excellent. I love him as Draco. He really makes me feel what's going on inside Draco is more real

Actors who left me cold: Narcissa Malfoy, Slughorn, Helena Boham Carter (or whatever it is)
HarryPotterNut, why did these actor/actresses not do it for you. Narcissa is a cold, mainly emotionless person as it is, so there wasn't much to do. And I though Carter did wonderful, but I guess I understand Slughorn, though I think it was partly the director's fault as well.
Bonnie did alright in my opinion; she's never been my favorite actress. Seriously, if she's going to do anything, add more confidence to Ginny. *sigh* It felt poor to me.

This was her best since HP one/three. Her eyebrows have certaintly calmed down a tad bit and she's just amazingly spot on this one.
Hehe, this made me laugh. I noticed the same thing in the train.

She's gotten better and more focused on who Hermione really is. I suppose the little-ish parts she had made her want to over-do the acting before, but I felt she was really good in this one. Emma's always been one of my favorite young actresses anyway

Tom Felton and Rupert Grint impressed me the most. Rupert with the comedy and stepping up into a more intense role in this film and Tom playing the character that his has become. They did excellent, kudos for both of them!!
Also, Emma did really well. I have always thought of her as a dramatic actress, but she did really well with the emotional scenes in this. Awesome job!!
Finally, I hated Slughorn in the book, but I think they cast his role perfectly, Broadbent was amazing!! Wow. Very very funny, the comedy was definately there for me.

All of the adults did well, although they always do because they have an amazing group of actors and actresses for the teachers/parents. Great work.
I loved the movie, it was definately worth the wait of two years. Good job everyone!!

I loved Rupert Grint in the movie. i think he did a really good job! He was hilarious! Emma was good too. Dan was a little better than usual. He did a really good job in the scenes with Rupert.
Bonnie was ok. I expected a little bit more from her...
All in all I though it was a really good movie.

in all the movies i never felt dan radcliffes performances to be very realistic but in this one i must say i was surpriesed i feel like he did a fantastic job. also ruper grint did great as usual. we never get to see enough of tom felton in the movies and the scenes arent emotional enough to see if his performance is good thats why i was glad that we got a chance to see what a skille actor tom felton really is. his performance was very well done. bellatrix lestrange was very good as well. slightly psychotic lol but still very good. i think pretty much everyone was great in this movie i had no complaints about dumbledore even though usually i feel like the actor destroys the idea of the character this time he was great. literally i believe everyone did exceptionally well in this movie except for ginny/bonnie wright. lol idk she seemed stiff and uncomfortable somhow throught the entire movie =/ but i must say this has been the best movie so far in the HP series i think

I thought Tom Felton did amazing portraying Draco. He did really well playing the part of someone troubled. And i was glad he had more appearances in this movie.
I thought that Rupert Grint did really good to. He was funny and did good with the whole Lavender Brown thing. And with the chocolates with the love potion. I thought he did really good in that part.
Emma Watson did good too and i dont remember he whole name but the girl who plays Bellatrix did really good as well. She does a really good job playing such an evil woman.

For me Rupert was the best! He was just incredible with the Amortentia, brilliant! I also loved Dan with Felix Felicis, so all in all we can say the actors didn't have any problems being under special potions's effects, right?
The only one who disappointed me and the most, was Bonnie..

She's got the same face all the time, that cool, a bit neutral expression. I know it's just a role, but I imagined Ginny as a far more interesting personality.
And from the new ones I'd say Slughorn

Especially with those huge glaring eyes, when he gave his memory to Harry, it was so cute

I think Tom Felton stood out this time and I was impressed with the young Valdemort. He seemed like a creepy little orphan. I wasn't Happy with Emma this time. Hermione is always kind of tightly wound, but the scenes didn't show the balance. She's also very caring and loving. She's not always so uptight.

I was very impressed with the cast in this movie! I loved Rupert and Tom's performance. Ron was able to really bring the comedy in the movie, and Tom was able to become who Draco really was (in what few scenes that he was in). I was really impressed with Emma. I did not like her at all in the 5th film; I thought her performance was mediocre, and she always seemed to have the same face on. I think with all the drama and comedy in this film she was truly able to open up more
I have to admit, at first I was a little leery with Jim Broadbent as Professor Slughorn, but I have to say, he did a brilliant job! Aside with Rupert, he brought a lot of comedy into the film, and I loved the many faces of Horace

The people who played Lavender and Cormac also did very well (I can't think of their names). I wish Luna was in the book more. Everytime she was on the screen with her glasses or that hat, it made me smile!
I hated Bonnie the most. Her performance was like Hermione's in OotP. She had the same exact neutral expression on her face, and didn't really show a lot of emotion. It was almost like her and Emma switched performances...almost.
All in all, I think this is one of the casts' better movies that show off their acting ability!

The main cast was brilliant.
Dan and Rupert were especially good(The scene where Ron was influnenced by the love potion was absolutley hilarius). Tom Felton was also really good and i did feel sorry for him near the end
Gambon as some have said before me in this thread was hugley improved for this one and really made up for the scream fest in Goblet of Fire(he also had my favorite line in the movie"I do love knitting patterns).
Bonnie was the only really bad one but since she didnīt get alot to work with itīs understandeble.
Overall though i think almost everyone did a great job.

I apologize for not elaborating on this more. I felt that Narcissa was just boring in the movie. She had like two lines, and she just acted bored. Slughorn was hilarious in the movie, but I didn't like the actor who portrayed him. Carter was just irritating. I'm so tired of her laughing and singing "I killed Sirius Black, I killed Sirius Black" I mean , thats getting really old.

I totally agree with you, HarryPotterNut, The Chapter in Snape's house was one of my favorites because of the detail in which the Black sisters were described. I loved the contrast between the literal darkness of Bella's appearance and the light etherealness of Narcissa's. The movie didn't capture that with Narcissa's actress. In the book she is quite emotional (tearful, frightened, vulnerable, trusting, etc.), but like you said she was just cold with Snape. And the dark chunk of hair really bothered me (wish they'd assigned Cissy's hair stylist to make Tonks' hair more interesting instead! Please, a mullet? But enough about hair...)
I love Helena B. Carter, and she is the perfect actress for the part but movie 6 shouldn't have included more gleeful choruses of "I killed Sirius Black!" She's been an evil, nasty Death Eater for years and has presumably tormented or killed many victims along the way. For the screen writer to think she'd be so boastful about one particular murder doesn't jive with her character. In the books her obsession is obviously Voldemort - not Sirius. He was just another family member fallen-from-grace. Her performance would be so much more powerful if the script was kept a little closer to the character in the book, and not so over the top.

I love love love Rupert Grint (I've seen him in Driving Lessons as well!) and I think he is so very talented. He really makes me feel the emotions!! He was fantastic!! I actually really liked all of the actors, they are definitely growing and getting better with each movie. I have to also give credit to Tom Felton, he made me almost feel sorry for Draco. Michael Gambon's scene with Dan Radcliffe in the cave brought me to tears. It was so sad!
On the contrary, I really didn't like the actor they chose to replace the original teenage Tom Riddle. He gave me the heebie jeebies, even though I'm sure that's what they were going for. I also wasn't a fan of Bonnie's work in here. The kissing scene with her and Harry was my biggest problem!! She showed very little emotion!! I had hoped it would be a little more tender.
