Here we go, a bright, shiny new story. *shifty look* I hope you guys like this...

Winging It

Chapter One-

I’m just a face for every picture
A smile for your scrapbooks
And a story to be told
(It tears and tears me up)

-All Time Low-This is How We Do

Lily Evans

“You’re such a freak!” Petunia screamed at Lily. “Go ahead, leave, with your little freak boyfriend. “We don’t want you here.”

Lily smiled coldly. “Right. I’m a freak. Well, at least if Sev and I were dating… At least he’d be better then some balding-at-eighteen loser. I’m just saying…” She grabbed her trunk, shoved Petunia out of the way, and went downstairs to her parents. She gave them both hugs and they said their goodbyes. Petunia was standing at the edge of the room, rolling her eyes until Lily had left.

Lily slammed the door behind her, muttering to herself. I hate her, she thought, but she knew it wasn’t true. Pet had always been prejudiced against her, presumably out of jealousy, but no matter what she said, Lily always had some sort of sisterly love for her.
The scary thing, she knew, was whether Petunia felt the same way.

She shook off these thoughts, and headed for Sev’s. As she stepped off the porch, she pulled off her jacket and draped it over her trunk, so as not to arouse questions. It was a shoddy disguise, but he only lived a few streets away. She would’ve taken a car (She’d gotten a driver’s license, to Petunia’s amusement, earlier that summer.), but she rather enjoyed walking, and anyway he had a fireplace and sometimes a car that they could use.

She got close to the house, and heard shouting, not distinct words, but she got the general gist of it. She felt tears well up in her emerald eyes. Poor Sev.

Trying to remain quiet, she dragged her trunk to his backyard and up into the treehouse that they had played in as children. Every year, she thought to herself. Every year for five years now, and it’s still the same. She hated it, hated hearing poor Sev abused in such a way. The poor little boy who had befriended her and simultaneously made sure he had no friends within his house-Slytherin. However, he had gotten much better at dealing with it. Lily liked to think that she had helped with this—she had become friends with him, had grown to love him, even dated him for a period of time, but still there was some part of him that he kept secret from her, and no matter how hard she tried, he wouldn’t reveal anything to her.

As she was mulling over these thoughts, she saw his head pop up, followed by the rest of him and, finally, his trunk. His face was streaked with tears and there were handprints on his arms, but she chose not to notice, instead giving him a hug that he so obviously needed.
“I’m so sorry,” she murmured, patting his back.

“It-whatever. I’m fine,” he said gruffly, pulling away and clearing his throat. “Let’s just get out of here, all right?” He looked at her hopefully.

Lily mustered up a smile. “Sure,” she agreed, looking at her watch, which read 10:17. Just enough time. “Let’s go.”

He grabbed a single key from a pocket and went down the stairs, slowly and quietly dragging his trunk behind him. He motioned for Lily to follow him, and she did so, grabbing his hand as they ran across the lawn.

They climbed into his car, and he pressed the gas, speeding away.

Alexandra Lasist

“But, Mary, come on!” Alexandra begged her sister.

Mary glared. “Allie. I just turned 17. I’m not gonna risk you Splinching and me getting yelled at by the parental units just so you can see your little buddies an hour earlier. Plus, you’re not even done packing!”

Alex laughed skeptically. “You know I can be done packing quickly. And what are you talking about, me Splinching? I’ve Apparated before. If we had a fireplace,” she hinted, glaring, “then I wouldn’t need you. But we don’t, and please?” She smiled, trying to be convincing. An idea popped into her head. “And, just for the record… Sean would be one of the people to pick up. And we all know how you feel about him.”

Mary’s jaw dropped and her eyes widened. “How-did-y-ah-” she sputtered, and settled on glaring again.

Alex smirked. “It’s very obvious,” she told her, smiling. “To everyone but him, of course,” she amended, and Mary’s worried expression vanished.

“So,” Alex began again, “if you, you know, Apparated me to his house, then both of us to Ari’s, then me and Ari could go off somewhere-or, even, talk to her mom, Judy loves me-and you two’d be alone, you could-”

“Yeah…” Mary interrupted. “Then we could-that is, I could-I mean-” she faltered.

Alex cut her off, laughing. “Then you could throw him on the coffee table, and-” she laughed harder as Mary tackled her, cutting off the end of her sentence.

“Shut-up-” Mary choked out between spurts of laughter, tickling Alex’s sides.

“Begin to snog!" Alex added, in hysterics from the tickling. They both fell over, laughing.

Alex stood up, clutching her sides, and held out her right hand. “Truce?” she asked waveringly, and Mary reluctantly agreed, standing up with Alex’s help.

“But, uh, seriously…” Alex smiled what she hoped was winningly. “Please, please take me?” she begged. “I can be packed in, like, ten minutes, tops! C’mon, please? I haven’t seen Sean since July, and freaking Arianna since June. It’d mean a lot to me if you would…”

Mary rolled her eyes. “Fine,” she reluctantly agreed. “But… you have to actually be civil to Sirius this year,” she smiled, smirking.

Alex glared at her. “Fine,” she spat. “But I dare you to ask out Sean this year. Two Galleons to the winner…” she challenged.

Mary raised an eyebrow. “Of course not. He’d never want someone like me. Why bother? I have to stay focused on school, anyw-”

“Blah, blah, freaking blah,” cut in Alex. “Whatever. But remember, this is your last year, your last chance. And you’re never going to have any fun unless you start living, and not by the rules,” she advised. “Suck up your pride, take your baby sister’s advice, and have some fun this year.” She smiled.

Mary narrowed her eyes at this. “I have plenty of fun!” She paused. “Get your damn butt upstairs and get packing,” she commanded, and looked at the clock above their refrigerator. It read half past nine.

“Crap!” she exclaimed. “Mum and Dad are going to be back soon! You have to be ready in ten minutes, or I’m not taking you. Here, I’ll write ‘em a note.” She grabbed a notepad and pen and scrawled Left with Allie to get a bite and then to school. Write you later. Love, Mary. She would have told them where they were really going, but they were Muggles and barely approved of magic as it was. She looked up and saw Alex, still standing there, and made a ‘shoo’ing motion. “Go!” she commanded.

Alex did so, grumbling as she went. She managed to get all her stuff ready just in time, cat (Snippykins) included, and they were leaving just as their parents arrived.

There. I got bored today, and I decided to type this up and put it on here. It's about a half of the first chapter, from the POV of Lily and an OC. What did you think?
And you know where you can tell me that? In a review!. ♥ Please and thank you.

A/N: Oh, darn. Why do I always forget something? *headdesk* Well, two things.
Firstly, a DISCLAIMER: I do not own the ideas of the luverly JKR, nor do I pretend to (except for in my own mind [kidding]). Any lyrics you see (say, at the beginnings of chapters) are not mine, and are the sole property of the artist.
There. Now that that's in order, I forgot the very beginning paragraph. Sorry. *blush* I'm not usually this scatterbrained, I swear! So, just imagine this at the beginning, and here's the rest of the chapter, a day early!

"Do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

I swallowed noisily, looking into the face of the man I did not love. My mouth trembled as I touched my stomach, feeling the baby that was not his in my stomach. A tear leaked, falling down my face as I remembered all that had lost everything because of my stupid decision.

"I do."

Chapter One, Part Two-There's A Story To Be Told

I’m just a face for every picture
A smile for your scrapbooks
And a story to be told
(It tears and tears me up)

-All Time Low-This is How We Do

Ariana Greve

"So then I go, 'Well, I don't want someone to go look at the book, see the note, read it and think, 'Hey, she's into drugs!', come after me, all mean-like, and yell at me and not believe me and cut off my head with a rusty chainsaw or spatula of some sort! Then I'd die an ugly, bloody death, and then... I wouldn't be alive anymore!' Because it's true, I wouldn't have been. And that's why passing notes in class is bad!" Ariana finished her story and smiled toothily, giving her mom the thumbs-up.

Judy sighed. "I don't care how much you try to distract me with pointless stories, you still have to pack for Hogwarts." She pointed upstairs and put her hand on her hip. "Now. We have to leave in two hours, and I am not having another fiasco, like last year."

Ariana made a face. The incident her mum was referring to had occured when Ariana had overslept and barely made it onto the train, having to make a running start.

"That was a whole year ago, Mum! Anyway, my stories are not pointless! They teach valuable life lessons!" Her mother just looked at her, crossing her arms, and Ariana rolled her eyes. "Fine," she grumbled, and walked out of the kitchen and upstairs.

Judy smiled to herself. Ever since she was a little girl, Ariana had been telling stories, whether it was to distract people (like now), or she just wanted to talk. The habit had lasted her into her teen years, and showed no signs of going away, as she was now 15. Ariana had always loved Hogwarts, and her magical abilities were flourishing nicely in her four years there. But she hated packing for anything, and school was no exception. She was always really excited to go back, though, and never came back for holidays, which left Judy alone much of the time. Not that she minded; she just wanted her daughter to be happy.

Upstairs, Ariana was grumbling to herself as she packed. "I d on't see why I need to pack now. I still have two hours left." She threw her robes into her suitcase haphazardly and scanned her bedroom for anything else that she needed. She found and grabbed her broomstick, her owl, Blinky, and headed downstairs, dragging her trunk with her. She entered the kitchen and her mum looked up, handing her a plate with an omelette and more toast on it. She began to eat, mumbling a 'Thank you', and Judy nodded in return.

"So, are yoiu excited for the new term?" she asked her daughter. Ariana nodded, widening her eyes. She swallowed quickly and added, "It's O.W.L. year, though. I'm really going to have to work my a- I mean, butt off to pass them."

"And what are O.W.L.'s, again?" Judy enquired.

Ariana tried to explain. "It's-well-you know how I want to be an Auror, right?" she asked.

Judy nodded. "I know, but I'm not sure what it is. A sort of, er, wizard policeman, correct?"

Ariana laughed. "For all intents and purposes, yes. But, in order to be an Auror, and a damn good one at that, I need to get really good grades on all my exams. So, this year's going to be comprised mainly of Quidditch and study."

"And sneaking into the Gryffindor common room, don't forget, dear Ari," a voice laughed from behind her.

She whirled around in her chair. "How'd you get in here?" she half-shouted.

Sean Ozera

"I'm coming over," Alex informed Sean.

He raised an eyebrow. "And just how are you expecting to do this?" he asked, smirking. "That tightwad Mary would never Apparate you, and you don't have a fireplace!"

She pursed her lips, and the mirror fogged up. Sean turned around to see Sirius and James behind him. "Hey, mate," James smiled, before going to his refrigerator.

"Ooh, who's that?" Alex squealed, trying to get a better view, but he ignored her, turning the mirror over and off before Sirius came up to him.

"Hey, that's where that went," Sirius grinned, grabbing it. He stuck a cupcake-where the heck had he gotten a cupcake?-into his mouth, and inspected the mirror. "Mph," he informed Sean, who just gave him a confused look.

Sirius rolled his eyes, swallowing the rest of the cupcake. "It's nicked," he clarified, pointing to a spot on the handle. "Hey, how'd you even get this, anyway?" he asked, climbing up onto Sean's kitchen counter.

"You somehow packed it into my bag," replied Sean, raising an eyebrow again, and Sirius nodded.

"Sounds like me," he laughed. "So, who were you talking to on this thing, anyway?"

"Alex," responded Sean, "but I've talked to her a bunch of times, it's okay."

"Come on, man," groaned Sirius, "Why the heck were you talking to her? She's so freaking annoying, and she has that stupid voice, all high-pitched and annoying-"

"Hey, Sean!" came Alex's voice from behind them, and Sirius whirled around, seeing only James, who was cracking up.

"What the hell?" he asked.

"Ha! I knew I could imitate her!" shouted James, who then collapsed (yes, collapsed) in a fit of laughter.

Sirius looked at him, rolling around on the floor, and burst into laughter himself. Sean did as well, and when Alex walked in, she stopped confusedly, then shrugged. Whatever, she thought to herself.

"I'M HERE!" she shouted. "And... SO IS MARY!"

Sirius, who was sitting in front of her, jumped about a foot into the air. "What the-?!" he shouted.

Alex rolled her eyes and put a hand in front of his face, walking around to the front of the room, grinning at Sean. He laughed, and held out his arms, which she ran into . He caught her and they spun around.

James got up off the ground and ran over to her as well, giving her a kiss on the forehead.

Alex laughed. "How are you doing, love?" she asked him, ruffling his hair, which made him wince. "And... why are you here? Rather, how are you here? No offense, you know I love you, but... how? You weren't here yesterday..."

"Me and Padfoot are living a few streets away," James informed her. "He moved in with us, and we found out that Ozera lived here, and decided to pay him a visit before we left for school."

Alex grimaced. "Oh, yes. That's here-" Mary gave her a pointed glance, "-Er, I mean, he's here."

"Good day to you, Mary," Sirius laughed.

She chuckled. "And you as well, dear Sirius."

Alex rolled her eyes. "Well, we can't all Apparate to her house," she puzzled. "So how do w-"

"'She' who?" asked Sirius excitedly.

"Ariana, of course," replied Alex.

"Well, why don't we Floo?" suggested James, and Alex's eyes lit up.

"Damn, I knew there was another way," she muttered. "Well, then, let's go!" she shouted, walking into Sean's living room, grabbing a handful of Floo Powder, and without further ceremony, left for Ariana's.

Sean, James, and Sirius looked at one another, shrugged, and one by one, did the same. Mary merely Apparated back to her house.

A/N 2: Well, how do you guys like it? A review would really be nice. (: *hint hint* I know you're reading it, I can see the number of reads. Just click that little button and tell me what you thought. Please?
Anyway, chapter two should be up sometime soon-ish. Since I'm nice (and already wrote it), here's a bitty preview:

"GIANT-SCARY-ATTACK!" yelled Liy, hitting her head on the celing.

Sirius' eyes widened.
Oh, crap, I thought.

"A GIANT'S ON THE TRAIN?!" he thundured, going to run out of the compartment. James threw himself in front of the doors.

"IT'S JUST A MOUSE!" he shouted back. Lily whimpered from atop her perch, ducking down.

"Oh," responded Sirius.
