Okay, I’ve got one shot to get this right, George thought as he closed up his shop for the night. I’ve got to tell her tonight, he thought as he walked toward the Leaky Cauldron to drown out his sympathies with fire whiskey. When he arrived there, he opened the door and sat at the bar not noticing who he was sitting next to.

“Here to drown out your sorrows too, George”, she commented.

“Hermione, I didn’t see you there”, he replied thinking, man she looks amazing tonight.

“Well, I don’t get noticed very often”, she remarked drily. “I’m here because I just broke it off with Ron”, she went on. “Why are you here”, she asked.

“Well, I like this girl and I’m not sure she likes me back, so I’m drinking the pain away”, he replied. “Wait a minute, you broke up with Ron”, he said startled. “I thought you two were in love”, he went on.

“Well, I realized that we weren’t right for each other”, she said calmly. “And I realized that I like someone else”, she said shyly. “I know he doesn’t like me back, but I want him to know anyway so he might change his mind”, she continued.

“Well, I might be able to help, tell me a bit about him”, he said barely concealing the excitement in his voice.

“Okay, he’s a bit taller than me, plays Quidditch, red hair, and is a fantastic business man”, she replied.

“Is it Fred”, he asked. “Because Angelina will have a fit if she finds out someone wants her man”, he continued.

“No, silly it’s you”, she replied laughing.

“Well, then it’s a good thing that the girl I like is you”, he said smiling. “Oh, damn”, he said looking at his watch. “I forgot mum has planned a family dinner”, he said getting up. “Come on, we better get going, we’re already late as it is”, he said holding out his hand. She took it and he threw a galleon down on the bar and they ran out and apparated to the burrow.

They walked in and Molly said, “I was worried that you two weren’t coming”, she said. “Ron already arrived and said that you weren’t coming, Hermione”, she went on. “Why would that be”, she asked.

“Well, Mrs. Weasley, we broke up”, she said quietly.

“Why on earth would you do that”, she said looking worried.

“Well, I realized that I didn’t love him like that anymore”, she said. “I realized that I loved someone else”, she went on.

“Oh, who is it”, she asked.

“George”, she said as she smiled at him.



“Oh, I always thought you would end up with Ron, but I suppose you would have killed each other eventually”, she remarked. “I’m so happy for both of you”, she continued.

‘Thanks, Mrs. Weasley, I mean Molly”, she replied.

“Are we late, mum”, George asked.

“No, actually you’re the first to arrived”, she said. “Now, help me with the chores”, she went on as she handed them dishes.

As they set the table, Hermione said “, well that went better than I expected”.

“I was expecting her to shout a bit, actually”, replied George.

They finished and went back inside to Find Bill, Fleur, Harry, Ginny, Victoire, and Teddy in the living room. “Oh, hello everyone”, said Hermione happily. “Just to let everyone know, Ron and I broke up, and I have a new boyfriend”, she went on. They all stared at her and finally Ginny asked, “Who is it.”

“George”, she replied and took his hand.

“Oh ´ermione I am so ´appy for you¨, exclaimed Fleur.

¨Why is Fleur happy for Hermione”, asked Ron as he walked into the room.

“She´s happy for me because I have a new boyfriend”, answered Hermione.

“Who is it”, he asked, his ears getting a bit red.

“Me”, said George.

“You”, replied Ron, “why would she pick you over ME”.

“Because he's sweet, kind, sensitive, and most importantly he loves me”, said Hermione angrily.

“Dinner´s ready”, said Molly as she walked into the room.

After dinner, George and Hermione left; she said, “I´m glad you sat next to me at the Leaky Cauldron; I´m especially glad because I can do this”.



“Do wha”, he started but was cut off as she kissed him.

When they broke apart they both said, “Wow”. They both smiled and George said,” Its official I’m in love with you”. He got down on one knee and said”, I’m sorry that I don’t have a ring, but will you marry me”.

She started to cry and she replied,"Yes". The End
