Johnny Depp. My goodness, he is one of the only men that looks good in eyeliner.

This is actually very tough, because I enjoy so many different actors for different reasons.

Johnny Depp - He has such a wide range in his acting ability. With his recent round of hits, it is hard to believe that he was once thought of as movie poison in Hollywood (I never felt that and am glad to see that Hollywood has changed their minds). Not to mention I find him completely delicious to look at.


Robin Williams - Yet again, another versital actor who completely amazes me. This is one of the rare few actors who has the ability to easily make me cry.

Sean Bean - Another actor who makes my knees weak. I love his bad guy roles. I was able to watch nothing else but him (ok almost nothing else) as Boromir in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. My heart broke with his character's passing.

Adam Sandler - What can I say, the man completely cracks me up.

There are so many more that I can sing their praises, but I'll limit myself to these four.

Mmm...would have to be Nicholas Cage for me, I think. Particularly after 'The Rock' and 'Gone in 60 Seconds'. Ooh, and 'Face Off'. He can do serious, comedy, romantic....OMG, 'City of Angels' was just wonderful......

Oh, and Colin Farrell, of course...I mean, that goes without saying, right?

Before the casting of POA, I had many ideas about who could play who, they weren't necessarily my faves.

Ludo Bagman : Robin Williams (it seems quite a jovial part)

I also like Colin Farrel and Colin Firth.

Ooh, I forgot Colin Firth!!! How could I have done that??!!! Especially after the swimming thing in Pride and Prejudice...mmm......

Actually, I'm quite partial to Liam Neeson meself... Any of you guys ever seen 'High Spirits'? It's quite an old movie, but he was very dishy in that, with that lovely Irish accent of his....

I'm going to be very original and say...Orlando Bloom I was such a fan of his till last year. And I can't say I don't like him anymore...

Argh! I forgot someone! Joaquin Phoenx *drools*. Ok, he wasn't that hot in "The Village", but you should see him in "Signs"! He was Commodus in "Gladiator", and I think that he played extremely well, so he's not only gorgeous, he's a great actor too!

Eep! How could I forget Billy Boyd and Dominic Monaghan?! I just loved them in LOTR, they could be so funny at times, though sometimes their scenes were touching (like in ROTK, when Merry says he doesn't know if they'll ever see each other again. That was so sweet!).

I forgot to add Jeremy Irons! If Alan ever gave up the part of Severus, Jeremy, would be the best actor to take his place.

Did you know that Alan Rickman was offered the role of Scar in Disney's The Lion King?

I voted for Orlando Bloom (he's so dashing with that wig in LOTR )... but i also have other actors as well, like Vin Diesel (who happen to have such a wonderful voice as well... I just love guys with deep and hoarse voice... *drool*) Although, I don't think he could play in any roles of HP movies... he's too ermm... muscular...

And I like Robin Williams too... brilliant actor that one! Love all his movies... And Matt Damon... Adam Sandler... and oh! yes... Nicholas Cage (such a hunk especially in 'Gone in 60 Seconds' and 'The Rock'... and didn't he cry in 'City of Angels'? Marvellous story...)

All of them are from USA except for Orlando Bloom... so, it's a no-no anyway to be in HP if they could...

Oh, Johnny Depp, hands down. Although it was a terribly hard decision to make, what with Orlando being on that board...They're both so darn drool-worthy. However, I respect J.D. much more as an actor, simply because he's been in the business a lot more.

If you want one finalizing bit of proof, all you need to do is see him in pirate getup. Mmmm...

I love ALL of the choices (excluding Jacob Young and Cameron Mathinson, as I don't know who they are) but my favorite actor EVER...would be Adamo Ruggiero, who plays Marco Del Rossi on "Degrassi: The Next Generation". Not only is he a really good actor, he's hott, too ;)

since this is a forums - a place for discussion- don't simply list out your favourite actor and actress. That'll be so boring to read. Why don't you gives us reasons why you like certain actor/actress.

That would be better than simply a list, don't you think?

For me, I like certain actor/actress based from the movies they play, not on who they really are. I don't live with them and I never met one in real life, so, I can't really tell whether they're good or bad. Only in what they plays... I like Vin Diesel, because, okay, I admit it, he has such a gorgeous body and his voice melts me from within. 'Fast and Furious' and 'Triple X' seems enjoyable enough!

Oh, and an applause for Tom Hanks for 'Cast Away' and 'Forrest Gump'. It's not easy being the only actor for half of the movie. And to play out the emotion in 'Forrest Gump'. Beautiful piece.

And aah... how can I ever forget Mr Alan Rickman in 'Sense and Sensibility' and of course, the Harry Potter series! I believe he played my dear Snape really well!! The enigma and aura he possesses was simply glueing my eyes to the screen!!

I'm not really a movie buff, so I'll add later when I remembered!

i've seen evey movie hes been in except water boy and anger managment. my favorite movie that he is in is either Little Nicky or Billy Madison.

i have to agree with zyra on Tom Hanks, i think he is a wonderful actor! i don't believe that anyone could have done Forrest Gump as well has he did, and he was excellent in the terminal, which i imagine must've been a hard role to fill.
also, Jake Gyllenhal(sp?), i love him in Donnie Darko and The Day After Tomorrow (and he looked good too )
for actresses, i love Maggie Smith, she was really good in The Secret Garden and, of course, Harry Potter series. And i like Julia Roberts too, she's very beautiful and acts really well.

I have a couple of fav actors.

Ewan McGregor has been one of my favs since I saw him in Star Wars Episode 1, he does a amazing job of Obi-Wan, and I just love his actoring style, he movies are great .

The other actor who is one of my favs happens to be Joaquin Phoenix, I had never herd of him untill Gladiator came out, he was great as Commodus , ever since then I have been a fan of him, but I have only seen a couple of his movies.

Oh, yes, Mimola! How can I forget 'The Terminal'?? Brilliant movie if I saw one. Oh, that accent was excellent, don't you think? Although, I'm not Russian (he's from that country in that movie, isn't he?) so I can't really judge. The determination to survive and the subtleties involves, he played it to the perfection. Yeah... he's among the A-list actor, I'm sure!

well, i'm not too sure it was russia, but it was definately a country from around there, or perhaps a made up country, they tend to do that in movies. but yes, he did the accent perfectly, and his body language of being a lost tourist. and i must say, when i found out what was in the planters peanut tin, and why he was in america, i lost it and just cried like a baby.

Hard one this... Erm well i think jim carey is the best because he makes me laugh sooo much.

But i would like to see the HP actors play other roles aswell

To pick one of each gender; Johnny Depp and Miranda Richardson.

Johnny is obviously a very pretty man (I've heard him called 'metrosexual'), and since Pirates, he's also become very popular right around the board. But he's a freak - and proud of it. he has never actually been trained as an actor, he taught himself from a book on method acting (at least from what I've read).

I've heard him talk about his acting, and it's beautiful. The first film I saw him in was Edward Scissorhands - and that's what caught my attention. He says that when he read the script for that role, he pictured a new born baby and a dog that has been beaten by its owners and slinks off sadly to the corner, only to crawl back again. When watching, I can see those elements.

Similarly, for Jack Sparrow *sigh* he envisioned Keith Richards, crossed with Pepe Le Pew! When he left Jump Street, people expected him to take on the lead roles in teen movies and be a little Hollywood pip-up. Instead, he chose movies such as 'Crybaby' which are more out of the ordinary. He takes a role because he thinks it will be fun or challenging, not because it will win him money or adoring fans (though this approach has, in the end, brought him both). He tends to camp it up at times, but you only have to watch 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape' to know how far he can tone it down.

As for Miranda, well she is a beautiful woman. She is also one hell of an actress. I've mostly seen her in comedy roles - such as Queenie in Blackadder. Or as a delectable villain - like Queen Mab in Merlin. But she can also do heart-wrenching drama, if she chooses. Like Johnny, she has no interest in playing roles that are expected of her. She would rather 'act'.

They both prefer to be offbeat, and as I am myself, I'm bound to love them. (Though their hotness doesn't hurt )
