I have been a Star Wars fan for years and I can not wait for this one to come out. It is going to be one of the biggest movies of the year wink.gif.

So what do you all think it is going to be like, do you all think it is going to be one of the best films of all time, is it going to be as good as it is made out to be?

So let all us Star Wars fan come togeather and have a bit of a chat about the last of the 3 films tongue.gif.

Hello there and welcome to the forums!! Why don't you head on over to our Introduction thread and say hello to everyone!! Oh and I'm going to have to point you to our forums rules here, if you could read and follow them it'll save you from getting into any trouble with one of us mods... wink.gif

We are actually not allowing anymore movie threads but I'll make an exception for this one as this is a blockbuster which I'm sure will generate much response. I do believe there are quite a number of you Star Wars fans out there (well if the New Releases thread is anything to go by... wink.gif ).

I’m an absolute Huge Star Wars fan, ever since I saw the re-release of the first three films a good few years ago. It is IMHO the best Sci-Fi movie Saga ever made and wild horses couldn’t keep me away from the opening night of Episode three. Tat being said I’ve been getting steadily more disappointed with every new release, in the 90’s. Coming up to the Phantom Menace, I couldn’t get enough information relating to the film and I think I booked my ticket months before it was out. After seeing Episode one I as really disappointed, it was a good movie, but it was never going to live up to any of the earlier movies. When the Clone wars was released I again when Episode two came out I again pre booked my ticket and I have to say Attack of the Clones was a much better film than Episode one, but it still was nowhere near as exciting generated in the script as twists which came with the story lines I the original three films. Just as a whole the storylines seem to depend a lot more on ’special effects’ as oppose to any real emotion created in the storyline.

Finally coming up to the release of Episode three I haven’t really looked up anything about the film and I just can’t get excited about it because we know how its going to end, just like the Titanic.
Oh well I’m just going to have to wait until George Lucas makes episodes 7-9, Although as I said above I’m definitely going to see Episode 3 when it come out, what can I saw, It’s Star Wars!

Im not much of a star wars fan but im going to see this one for sure. The trailer for it is just great and just shows you what they can do with films these days. WOW!
akasha_ishtar
The trailer is one of the best I have seen in a long time for a movie, and the images that are coming out are realy amazing. I will be going to the midnight showing for Episode 3, hope to get my tickets in the next few weeks wink.gif.
Tom`Riddle
The first 3 (aka a new hope, esb, rotJ) were quite amazing, the first two were better on graphics, but used more just to "fill in the gaps" , but i think episode 3 is going to be the big one!! this ones going to answer almost every question any star wars fan has ever had!! cat wait!!
akasha_ishtar
Have any of you seen the new images that have come out from Episode 3, I am with a movie froum and they have the links on there. If you are after them just let me know and I will send you to the images wink.gif.
Oliver (D69)
Well im sure the mods wont mine you posting links to the pictures. Its to much work to pm. but if you want to email me them click my profile.
Rubedo.Kukai
I liked the original three better. These new ones are dissappointing to me. I'm still going to watch it just to finish it off, but I'll just be watching it for the special effects this time. I'm going to go in with low expectations.
akasha_ishtar
Ok here are the new images from Episode 3:

I just hope I don't get into trouble for this unsure.gif .
akasha_ishtar
Ok this is one for those of us who do a bit of Star Wars collecting.

Have you all seen the new Unleashed figures, you can get Anakin (The one I am after), Obi-Wan and General Grievous. They look realy great and I think they will be worth geting.wink.gif

I got the Unleashed figure of Jango Fett when that came out and I now wish I had got some of the others, so this time I think I will be geting not just Ani but also Obi-Wan.

Anyway let me know what you think of them.smile.gif

Unleashed Figures.
akasha_ishtar
Ok just found one very cool Star Wars site (or should I say Anakin site). They have all the pics of Ani in Episode 3 anyone could want, and there are some very good ones I must say wink.gif .

Ani Images
zyra123
Ooh!!! Those are some very good pictures of Anakin!! I can't thank you enough for posting the link here, akasha!! Thank you!!

**drools**

I can't wait for the movie to come out now. I can sense it'll be promising indeed!

But on a side note, I have to ask you to at least wait for other people to respond before posting. On a quick look, it looked like you're triple-posting here. But when we checked closely on the date they are made on different day and so shouldn't be considered as triple-posting in the way that is not allowed on board. I understand that you're giving out updates with links that you have found and I am sure that all the Star Wars fans here are very grateful of you. But if you could be a little more patient and wait for someone to post before you do, it would be very much appreciated.

Worse comes to worse, you can always ask anyone you know to post here so that you can then post an update! wink.gif
akasha_ishtar
Sorry about that, I will do next time smile.gif .
RG's Babe

Well it is just a month a way and the hype is building up like mad, oh it is almost to much!

I got my tickets last week for the midnight showing in my part of New Zealand and I got realy good seats, which was a very good. I am in the middle of geting my costume done for the midnight showing and that is not coming to cheep.

Are any of you guys of to midnight showings or even lucky to go to C3 and is anyone going to be going in costume, if so what as? I am going as a Sith Lord so that should be fun tongue.gif .
Lulu
I saw "Revenge of the Sith" yester day at 00:03 O'clock. It was awesome, best Star Wars movie ever. The spescial effects and lightsaber fighting were incredible. Here in Norway we rate the movies from 1-6. "Revenge Of the Sith got a 6 (the best, obviously) and I totally agree, it deserved that 6'er.

People, you just got to see this movie!
Quality Quidditch Supplies
Do you use Military time/24 hour clock in norway?

SPOILERS

Yeah, I saw it with my youth group at 12:01, it was amazing. That scene with Vader ripping the shackles and then yelling "NOOOOOO" was kinda cheesy, but the rest of the movie was incredible. I was actually angry when they started killing the jedi off....and i don't get involved in very many movies. wow....george lucas saved the prequals with this one!
akasha_ishtar
Episode 3 was just the best. I went to see it twice in 24 hours and loved it so much I can not wait to see it again wink.gif .

To me this film is the best of the Star Wars films, it was just so great, everything about it was right to me and it answered all of the questions I had from the other films cool.gif .

The one part that got me was the burning, it was so nasty, it looked a bit to real, and I can say I almost cryed at that part as Anakin had become one of my favourite characters sad.gif .

I also went to a midnight showing and it was so much fun, I went dressed up as a Sith Lord and at one point I had about 200 people all clapping at me and saying "go the Sith", it was quite funny laugh.gif .
Rubedo.Kukai
I watched it and it's my favourite Star Wars movie now. The Drama sections of it (Anakin and Padme) are still cheesy as in the previous movies, but what did you expect from Lucas' "romance writing" abilities? There were some parts in the novel which I wish they put in the film but I guess if they put all of it into the film, the film would be like 3 hrs. SOme of the sabre fighting is seizure causing cause of the flashing. Like Grevious spinning his sabres? Who wouldn't get seizures from the alternate flashing between blue and green at a rapid rapid pace?

Other than these 'faults' it was really good. Special effects were really good. Sabre fighting was fast. It was cool to see more of the Jedi temple and stuff. I still wish they would show more. They did show more of the city though which I liked. The music was really good. i liked the last duels where they cut back and forth. That was neat to see both battles going and stuff. Go watch it so you know what I mean ha ha.
Lulu
The little 'bothering me' thing is that this movie sees to be the point in the storie were the development have gone farthest. In the last three movies (4,5 and 6) the fighting and the techology is rather 'lame' than in the first three films, espescially the third, but of coures the three last were made in the seventies, but it still bugs me. After I saw the third I went home and saw the fourth. But in this movie all things are suddenly not so incredible good. Anakin were incredible fast with his lightsaber fighting in the third film, all jedi's were, but not in following movies. That's bugged me a little.

Still the Star Wars movies remains genius!
akasha_ishtar
Yes I know what you mean, it seams that over time fast lightsaber fighting almost became a no,no laugh.gif .

All the lightsaber fights in Episodes 1-3 were quite fast, Episode 3 realy hit it off when it came to real fast saber fights. But in Episodes 4-6 the fights were very much slower. Maybe it had something to do with the people who were training them to fight, I mean sword fighting is not very easy to learn, I know as I have done a bit myself. So I would say it would have something to do with the trainers and how well they know how to use a sword.
Ygraine
This isn't the actual reason, technology as increased, as has the budget and the time in order to release the movie, that's why the saber battles are better in Eppy III II I.

But in V and IV (I like using the roman numericals) at least, Luke hasn't been taught how to fight. As we can see in EpII the younglings (aww so cute) have been taught ho to use the saber from an extremley young age so they're better. No one taught Luke, and Vader has that suit hindering his movements and he doesn't need to fight that often, and Obi-Wan is old, so won't be able to do all the flips and spins and stuff.

Does that maek sense?

Saw EpIII on saturday night.

It was amazing! Think it's my favourite, but i will always habour a love for the original three, because well, they're the original ones. Lol

Yep, i was crying at that moment too, and when Obi-wan said.

*sniffs* It's because we know what's going to happen, it's bittersweet! He doesn't die then and he saves Luke's life and becomes good. I was almost yelling.
'No Obi-Wan don't give up on him!'

I was crying at the end too, because the film was over! It was all over! Star Wars is finished! (I heard he isn't going to make VII IIX IX Grrrr) When the last HP book comes out, what am I gonna do? Must find something else to obsess about.

Also when Palpatine decleared himself emperor, that got me. I had a wee weep.
Accio Xbox
I love Star Wars! And I saw Revenge of the Sith on opening night, WOW it rocked. As good as I expected. Unfortunately I read the book before i saw the movie..*cries*
Sofie
ive seen Revenge of the Sith 2 days ago and i think its the best SW movie ever biggrin.gif
Tuitus
I saw Episode III recently. Wow!
cool.gif
I won't say it was the best of the series *swerves briefly to check if SW fanatics are about to jump me* because the dialogue was umm... unsure.gif , it wasn't Homer.

Seriously, I thought Anakin Skywalker's disfigurement imposed by his former master was symbolic, poetic, and a stroke of genius.
Also, Lucas really captured the sense of tragedy that shadowed episodes IV-VI. When future generations see all of the movies in chronological sequence, they may be more riveted than us.
Accio Xbox
When I have kids, you can be sure that they aren't going to watch them in chronological order.

If they did, whenever Darth Vader sayd "Luke, I am your father." They'll go, "yes, we know this." Instead of the rest of us going, "NO!!" So yah, my kids will watch them in the order that they came out, just like me. biggrin.gif
Ygraine
Accio Xbox You are so right.

They are made be be seen the way that we all saw them (well most of us) IV V VI first then I II III.

My mate came round last night to watch IV, she had never seen it before only I II, and she was so confused, it was annoying. She didn't know that Luke Skywaker was Anakin's son, didn't even know that the new ones were prequals and not sequals. Watching them I II III IV V VI just confuses things i think.

And Tuitus, i agree with you that it wasn't the best SW film. Return of the Jedi always will be. But Sith will always have the best lightsaber battles, also, who here dies and went to heaven when Anakin turned? I actually squealed in the cinmea.

lol
akasha_ishtar
I loved it when he went to the Dark Side, I thought he was 10 times better then ever before, he just rocked, there is just something about evil guys that makes them so hot wink.gif. I did not like him killing them poor kids but it just shows what the Drak Side had done to him and what he would do to try and save his wife and children (even thought he thinks its one child).

I was almost crying when the burning scene came on, I had read what it was going to be like on a site, but nothing can get you ready for how it looks. It is a bit to real, poor Ani sad.gif.

I was sitting there last night watching A New Hope, man I had not seen it in years, and they have done quite well bringing all 6 movies togeather. For me Episode 3 is the best out of the 6, I mean 4-6 are good but to me they have lost a bit of there touch since 1-3 came out, I will have to watch 5 and 6 sometime just to remind me of the good old times.
Ygraine
It's the twisted Irony really ain't it. He turns to the darkside to save his wife and child, when it's his turning that kills her and him unable to raise the twins.

greek tragejy (sp)

If he had done nothing tp prevent it (except get a really good doctor on the scene 24/7) It wouldn't have happened.

But him turning to the darkside might well be the best bit ever in the SW saga. Even beat the infamous

'No, I am your father' in eppisode V.

*sigh* And yes, evil guys are very hot!
MimolaChuck
hey, i just saw Episode III today, and wow it was amazing.

i loved the irony of it all. Anakin becoming evil for the power to save the ones he loves, but his darkness is why she lost the will to live.
i agree akasha, Anakin(or Hayden) was very hot when he was fighting all the jedi, but the killing of younglings made me want to cry.
oh, i was really impressed with the burning seen too, it seemed to realistic it made me cringe.*shutters*
slytherinlvr
I saw Star Wars III when it first came out. I think it was really sad though when Anakin killed all of the younglings. The irony of it all was great. i think it was really odd that Anakin trying to save Padme is what ended up killing her.
Cat
I haven't seen the other movies, and they never really seemed interesting to me. But we decided to go watch Episode III, and I loved it. Yeah, it was very ironic. And the part at the end with the burning ...ugh, I still can't get over it sad.gif It was so sad... his pretty face getting all burned. (Hi, akasha_ishtar! I'm Wraith of Truth on CoS.)

Hey welcome along here, good to have another person I know about...hehe. Its a small world, you never know when someone you know is going to pop up out of nowhere laugh.gif .

I went to see Episode 3 for the 5th time last week and I still can not get over the burning scene, but my mate was trying not to laugh at it, weird of him to find it funny but he did.

I was on the main Star Wars site and they are saying that in that when the DVD comes out we get to find out what happened to the Jedi Shaak Ti (I already know and lets just say it is not very nice). We will also get to see a bit more of the fight at the Jedi temple which will be very cool. So there are going to be some prity cool deleted stuff on the DVD when it comes out cool.gif .

They have also said that there is going to be a couple of box sets coming out, one is Episodes 1-3 by them selves and then there is going to be a box set with Episodes 1-6, so they will have all the movies togeather cool.gif .

which one is that? The one that looks like a cone head? Hehehe, he makes me laugh.

Any way, 5 Times akasha? Wow, i've only seen twice, but i've suddenly become obsessed with Dr Who...Eeeek can't wait until the new sereies. Any way that is completely off topic.

I like well, every one here found the burning really hard to deal with, i think i might have had to wipe away a tear, Poor Hayden, soooo Pretty!!! *sniffs* Also, you know what happens which makes it even sadder? (is that even a word?) it's that he survives, and is not all evil! Dies saving Lukes Life.

Although Mark Hamill and he's acting in that film. Dreadful (no offence to any Mark Hamill) fans, although Luke in eppy IV is pretty hot, shame about that car crash before V, You know the scars from the Wompa were actually real? Yeah, he had to get his whole face reconstructed. Poor wee thing *pats Mark Hamills head* (incase people didn't already know, Mark Hamill is Luke Skywalker)

Any way, where was I hmmm *scrowls up* Ah! The burning. Poor wee Anakin. Do you know when he reaches up? Did you know (well I think any way in my ramblings that that was some clever directing, he was 'calling out to us for help' That's why we feel so sad, we feel helpless. sad.gif Poor Ani, wish i could do something.

Waaaaa!!! *runs off the the Volcano planet!*

'I'm a-coming Ani!!!'
akasha_ishtar
Shaak Ti is the one with bright orange skin, she has these things on her head they call head tails. I think she is prity cool, I even got the figure of her from Episode 3.

I don't know if I will go and see Episode 3 again, I am going to see War of the Worlds this week, so that should be fun.

I am playing the Episode 3 game on my playstation 2 right now, and boy is it hard.I am up to level 7 and I am having fun, I am just glad that I have the cheats on or I would have been dead by now...lol
Ygraine
I would be playing that, if i was any good at computer games, i can barely make the dudey guy move without dying. *sigh*.

I've heard theres a really cool twist at the end of the eppisode III game, but I won't spoil it for you.

I wanna see war of the worlds, out on friday isn't it?
akasha_ishtar
I did the game, I love the other ending, it is sooooo cool, I think itmis ten times better then the ending in the film, all I will say is "go Anakin". My partner is playing the game now and it keeps playing up on one part, so he has to miss out that level as he is playing my save, it is been a real pain.

War of the Worlds came out Tuesday night over here, me and my partner are going to see it tonight, I have been told it is kind of crepy, so it sounds good to me.
hedwig.9
Yeah, I saw Star Wars a few days after it came out. My bro loves Star Wars to death. He's played the game on PS2 and finished it like 7 or 8 times. He's a freak.

Anyway, I thought the movie was really sad and everything that happened was so unexpected even though we knew he was going to turn evil.

When Anakin killed the younglings, when he almost killed Padme, and when he was getting burnt. Those were the saddest parts. Poor Anakin. *Gives him a hug*
keepstar1331
Yes, Star Wars. Another one of the things i hide from my friends. I own so much stuff, its bordering ridiculous.

So i loved the original three, Episodes 4,5, &6. i own every copy, speical edition, all that hoopalaa. I pretended most of my child hood i was princess leia and my best frien jimmy was luke. Ahh, childhood.

To be honest i was so disapponted with Episode's 1&2. They seemed to be so different, so straying from the original screenplays Lucas had written. The only redemtion i had seen in them was Yoda. who like always stole my heart.

Episode 3 changed all that. Though it strayed from the storyline a little (my boyfriend kept teling me to shut my mouth during the movie) i was impressed. It tied up all the lose ends i was fuming about. Maybe i was wrong but i thought Vader never knew Padme was pregnant. Because that messes up so much in the the last three episodes. i also liked how they tied the criods into the plot.

R2-D2 carried that movie. When he faught those battle driods...bloody brilliant. He's up there with yoda in my book.

Just a simple girl's opinions! agree or not!
Ygraine
Come on November 1st!!!

Well according to the site that's when eppie III comes out on DVD.

*squeal* Can't wait.

But i can't find my V and VI DVD's getting rather annoyed now....grrr-ness. Want to watch Star Wars, my first true love.
prod
It turned out to be my favorite movie...

I saw it on opening day...

I had visited many SW forums...so I know EXACTLY what was going to happen...and had seen around half the movie before it even got released biggrin.gif

but it was awesome...the fighting and all...

I must have seen it around 11 times now...good movie...also earned a LOT of money smile.gif

I also love the PS2 Game... laugh.gif
Hogwarts1210
Star Wars is the best(next to harry potter) I watched the movie so many times!!! Now I am waiting for the new ps2 battlefront game.
Accio Xbox
Ho hum, how I love Star Wars happy.gif.

Episodes 3 was quite good, and I most certainly did enjoy it. However, overall the original trilogy is exponentially greater and more enjoyable than the prequel trilogy. The prequel trilogy was too packed with CGI, and not enough humor. Episode 3 was the funniest out of the three and R2-D2 did most of the comedic work in the opening scenes. I wish that George would have not been so much gung ho on the graphics and imagery, but more gung ho on the plot, charactization, and adding some humor in there along with little obstacles as soon as they overcome a big one...like when Luke, Han, Leia, and Chewie are in the hallway pinned down by Stormtroopers, so Leia blasts a hole and the wall and escape.

*Phew*rolleyes.gif

Not!There's a sea monster in here and the walls are closing in!

Anyways, I got side tracked in that entry, but I did enjoy Episode 3.
gryffindor89
I love Star Wars it's my favorite thing other than Harry Potter!
Episode 3 has to be the best out of them all though!
It was so sad, but so awesome at the same time!
The battle between Obi-Wan and Anakin was the best part for me!!!
I can't wait till it comes out on DVD!!!!!!! biggrin.gif
bluephoenix5
I have been a star wars fan like the next person. i am more of a fan of the original trilogy. the prequels weren't that good, especially clone wars. but i do have to admit that episode 3 made up for the other two movies. the acting wasn't horrible, bot as much smooshy romance, and the dialogue was better. the action was probably the best part of the movie. i don't know but i just seem to favor the original trilogy more. even for it's time it is still great. all i can say for episode three is that it is the final of the prequels and i am glad that jar jar binks wasn't in the movie really. like i said it made up for the other two movies.
alkisti
I am not a Star Wars fan, I've got to admit that though i liked the first three movies. But i was really disappointed by Anakin, i mean he had potential but he messed it all up. I still haven't seen the last three movies but i think i will never be a great fan of movies showing the future...
Harry_Ginny777
i was never a REALLY big star wars fan but i like the movies my favorite one is 2 - attack of the clones i think it is called i liked it but i am not a big fan but they are good i like the adventure to them all. and the fighting in to movies are really good.
HP_RULES!
I was never a big Star Wars fan until episode 2 came out (that was the first one I had ever seen). Then I went back and watched the others and I loved them too! My favorite one is Revenge of the Sith, but what happened tohim breaks my heart. He was such a good person and then he went evil because of a dream. sad.gif
