Snape isn't evil, per se. He's just rather strict and holds a grudge about something that happened in the late 70s (I assume... I think I did the math right...).

The 'alligance' of Snape's Child, however, might depend on the mother of the child aswell...

I think the kid probably wouldn't be evil, but you never know.

I read a fanfic once about Snape having a daughter that transfered to Hogwarts. It was quite interesting. The person had her be really michivious yet still good.

i hope that the kid would be good. because then maybe snape might have a nice side too...? unless he totally hates the kid

First off who would get with snape I feel Snape Is So stuck on himself he has no time to be with anyone But Himself But If Some Rare chance that he did have a kid I Feel He would be as Evil as Snape I think , SNape WIll turn in the end and be back with voldermort if he is not already

I don't think Snape is evil, at least not in the same sense as Voldemort. I think he's staying on the good side for good. He can be quite a git, but he has helped Harry several times despite the fact that he despises him.

I voted for the good-to-evil/evil-to-good option. I can't believe that Snape is purely evil because of Dumbledore's trust and faith in him, but I'm positive that his child would be a Slytherin, therefore swayed by his or her peers to become a Dark wizard, but with Snape as his father... I mean, Snape isn't a Dark wizard--not anymore, anyway. I just hope that if he ever did have a child, his son or daughter wouldn't go through the same torturous school years that Snape went through.

I think Snape's kid would be nice at first and then would prolly be mean b/c of the influence of his father. Snape isn't evil, he just became mean b/c of his past. So i think him being mean will have an impact on the kid. the kid wont be evil just mean..and maybe cometimes nice.

First off, let me say that I don't think Snape should have kids. But if he must I don't think they'd be *evil*. They might be little brats, but not evil. So I said good.

In a sence he already as a kid! it's Harry Potter! he's always protectin him, and he is unusualy hard. Tipical atitude for a father that did not have a nurturing childhood. So he is over conpensating

I voted for good, everyone is born good. Snape had a bad childhood and that's why he is who he is now, let's call it evil But that doesn't mean that his kid would also be 'evil' (ow god, snape isn't truly evil). It isn't always: like father like son

I think that if snape had a kid the kid would be evil. I think this because I am this example from Malfoy. He's evil and so is his kid. I think that Snape would kinda force his child to be evil.

I think that if Snape had a kid he would most likely be evil. Snape would teach his kid evil magic .etc. and he would not be good at heart. Take a look at Draco, his father is evil and so is he.

I thinkthat Snape's kid would be taught to avoid the dark arts because of all the trouble it is causing SNAPE. SNape would notwant hte same type of life for his own child.

i think if snape had a kid, he would start out as a really good kid and all, but then being around snape, would defenatly change his ways, beucause the influence snape can put on kids and all around people can be ginormous. also, kids are very much exemplefied of thier parents! evil snape=evil kid!

UGH! I hate thinking about this, but the way Snape just is, he'd probably turn out evil. He'd probably grow up to be a psycho with girls down wells, saying, "It puts the lotion on its skin, or else it gets the hose again."

I think, if it hasn't been mentioned before, if he had a kid it would turn out like Draco but less of whatever Draco is...meaning his/her personality would be like Draco's but s/he'd actually back himself/herself up. I imagine he or she would be pretty powerful with Snape as a father since he's pretty magically gifted himself.

Or, the kid could be defiant of his/her father and become someone like Sirius. I dunno...

I voted that Severes' kid would would go from good to evil or vice versa. I don't think that the kid would be good his entire life or evil. It really depends on the mother, and the way the kid would be raised.

I also voted for the third option, sorry I forgot to mention that. I think if Snape is still good, which I like many others think he is, he'd spend a lot of time at Hogwarts if he remains a teacher. So he would only have influence on his for the summer and maybe the winter.

I think Good. Kids tend to rebel against whatever their parents try and teach them. As I believe Snape is evil, I think his kid would rebel against that, and become good. Maybe even be his downfall.

Evil. He will get it from his father... Unless his mum is good then he could be good.

In my opinion His child would be from good to bad or bad to good and vise verca.But sometimes i thought he is not as bad as i remembered him.So probably his child would be a goog one in his own generation.

I think he/she would defitnenly be Evil . Who wouldnt think of that. Then imagine of Harry and the kid went to school. Be like James and Severus all over again. . That would be scary though.

its kind of like ye olde question of nature versus nurture. But even it is wasn't genetic I think that Sanpes treatment of the child might be like the relationship he had with Draco - I think that the child would be more evil than good, because quite often parents' prejudices and behaviours imprint on the child because through social learning and reinforcement (like 'theres a good boy, heres a treat' for attacking someone would encourage them to do it again) and I think that Snape would probably do that,

but then again I couldn't see Snape being a particularily good father (especially with being on the run and all ) which may cause the child to be resentful and horrible toward his father - like Sirius, may go the opposite way and become 'good' but with a bit of a naughty side inspite of the parent
(although then again I don't think that sirius became the white sheep just to spite his parents - but it does happen a lot - like children of alcoholic parents often become 'straightedge' because of the effects of it on their parents - although sometime it goes the other way completely and encourages them to....

What's "good" and "evil" anyway? I don't believe you can be ultimately "good" or ultimately "evil"

But back to topic. The big one question is -at least in my eyes- not what Snape's true believes are but if he, after all what happened to him in life, is still able to love and so able to give love to a child. Would he just see the kid as his sucessor as Lucius Malfoy does or would he see it as a person who needs to be loved?
And ultimately: would he raise the child alone? If not there would be a mother who most likely will have a great influence too. Just look at the Malfoys once again. Draco is by no means as "evil" (if you must to use that word for god's sake) as his father and I am absolutely sure this is fully Narcissa's influence. She's much more human than her husband who doesn't seem to be able to love anybody but himself. So even if Draco, under the impression of the most recent events turns his fear into real hatred, he remains until this point (end of book 6 that is) "better" as his father.
So many questions but no answers - I just wanted to emphasize how complicated this question is and that I, with the prestent knowledge, am not anywhere near able to give an answer

Well, as maybe all parents know, there's no evidence that sons and daughters follow their example, in the good and in the bad.
And, since Snape wouldn't reproduce himself by magic, because it seems that in the magical world babies are made in the old way, well...what about the mother? of course, with a mother like Bellatrix Lestrange the chances to have a little death eater in diapers would be very high. But with another kind of woman things could be different. Maybe she would care about the good side of the baby and teach him/her to manage his/her worst emotions. Maybe she could do the same with the child's father.

Last, I think that we can't predict what Snape's attitude after the birth of a baby could be. I've seen people change so quickly that you forget about them as they were before. And people who won't change after a million years.

*shudders at the thought*..anyways..I really don't know how the child would turn out.. as WitchMom said there really isn't a way to tell..I think that ultimately..it would be evil because I am pretty sure the mother would be evil as well lol. Cause as we all know snape doesnt have many friends and the ones he has are death eaters. I really dont think we will have to worry about the acual fact of Snape having a kid..but its kind of fun to wonder what the kid would be like if he did.
