I was just thinking about the books...and how Rowling was going to end them. And the thought came to me, suddenly; What if Harry walks through the veil at the end, after defeating Voldemort at last? Think about it...it fits. Once...the end...happens, and if Harry survives, he'll have nothing...left. His parents are dead, the closest person to a parent he ever knew is dead..(or at least behind the veil). What would keep him here? Remember how he was drawn to the veil when he first saw it? Maybe he'll become super-powerful and be able to bring people back from the veil, I don't know...but if he survives against Voldemort, Sirius is behind that veil and Harry is going. I know it.

Could be. But it seems to much like the end of Lord of the Rings, stepping in a boat and sailing away. :?

Exactly. It's a sensible option she has of ending the story without killing Harry...in his fight with Voldemort. It all depends on if he, not unlike Frodo, makes the decision to go after Voldemort and kill him. So far, he has defended...he did try to disarm Voldemort at the end of GoF...but he has not attacked to kill. This decision will come soon. He doesn't like the idea of killing someone, as we know from the last book, but if provoked by the death of someone close to him, he will attack. (See Bellatrix Lestrange). Which would lead someone to believe that Ron or Hermione etc. will have to die. There are really a lot of possibilties within each spectrum: Harry lives, or Harry dies. I can't wait. She had better not kill him.

well if someone does die (and i said IF) who do you think it will be?

May 22 2004, 06:17 PM
Ron. What was Ron in the second task of the Triwizard Tournament? The thing Harry would miss most. When Harry attacked Belllatrix Lestrange in the DoM...she had stunned Sirius, which made him fall through the veil. Harry attacked her because of that. Maybe Ron will die...which would make Harry want to kill Voldemort. I say that because Harry isn't the type of person that likes killing. I dunno, I'm not making sense.

Could be. But I don't think that Harry will go out and search for Voldemort to kill him. I feel that Harry will kill Voldemort defending his friends may some of these will die, what will result in an increased anger. Ron seemed a logical candidate of being killed.

I agree with Ron dying, but I don't think Harry will walk through the veil at the end. It just seems like something Harry wouldn't do. If he did walk through the veil wouldn't he die?

Thats a really good theory, actually. But I can't help thinking this Mark Evans is something related to Lily. Would Jo Rowling use the same last name otherwise? Unless she wants to make us sweat (ha). So maybe Harry will have someone.
I don't want Ron to die. NOOO.

The thought of Mark Evans being related to Lily has occured to me. But there is a problem with thinking that.... Well, If Mark is related to Lily, he would either have to be her brother, which means Harrys grandparents were alive when Harry was given the scar. But when harry was given to his aunt and uncle they were his only living relatives. Or he could be her son (with a different man, not James), which would mean she is alive and cuz Mark is younger than her.
But I do think he has something to do with Harry, maybe he is going to go to Hogwarts in the sixth book, which would mean Harry would have someone (kinda around his age) to talk to about magic.
I donno though I could be wrong.

Ron should die to spur Harry on but what about Hermione? If Rons killed, (and supposing they get together) she might go after the attacker. Also Mark Evans, he is not Lilys' son, or Petunias' son. Nor is he their brother. I think that he is being used by Voldemort to get to Harry. Like having the same last name as his mother would want him to get to know Mark to find a connection, to link him to some other family that isn't like the Dursleys and who aren't dead. I think he is a trap, to get Harry to reveal all his secrets, who he holds dear, who he can't stand, that sort of stuff, things to help Voldemort get the upper hand. Anyway I'll explain my theory in my fanfic so you can read it there.

I know. I think she;ll do it in the seventh book now. I was reading this fanfiction called Solace by jenadamson on checkmated.com and it was soo soo sad. Ron dies in it, and everyone who has reviewed said they were crying through it. I almost cried, but it is super sad. After i read that, i was like, 'no Ron can't die. Harry, Ginny, and Hermione won't be able to handle it.'

Rowling isnt stupid enough to rip off lord of the rings. She'll think of something incredibly original and positive<hopefully. I'm a firm believer that HArry will not die by the end of the series. FIRM heh. yeah

Jun 26 2004, 10:16 PM
Err....she kind of already had ripped Lord of the Rings off but not really, because she says she got a whole bunch of things/stuff from LOTR.
And I seriously DON'T know how you're supposed to end the series originally.....unless.....
'Harry Potter was working at a bakery under-cover. He was handing out free muffin-samples when a little boy named Emerson looked at him.
"Hey Mr. What's up with your scar?"'
Haha.....that would be AWESOME if she paid tribute to a fansite.....hopefully Veritaserum.

I dont think i want to predict what will happen J.k Rowling IS a very talented writer and I belive we should all just wait and see she has a way of twisting thing's and never letting us know what going to happen And this is what i like , It's like watching a movie and trying to figure out how it going to end yes it fun , but you never know if you are going to be right ..

I know, but okay lets take sirius for example. Would he still be 'alive'? Like able to see where he was and his surroundings/
what happens if someone goes behind the veil, do they die?

Jul 7 2004, 02:23 AM
Well....if Harry walks through the Veil like you said....that would seem like a "Lord of the Rings ending", but you know...it would really fit, an ending like that.
Okay, I may not be making sense, but I had to get my thoughts out. I really like Lord of the Rings, anyway! And I think the the Veil is something like Heaven.
Which also leads to the thory about Sirius. *sob* I want him to come back, but I don't think he is.
If Harry's already lost him, if he loses anyone else, won't he just fall apart? Okay, I know he's stronger than that, but really, what do you think?
just me
Jul 7 2004, 09:49 AM
Harry asked about what happends after death...but he didn't get a real answer.... So we don't know what the veil has to do with it yet... But I think Sirius is alive in some sort of way behind the veil...

Sirius is dead. There's no more to it than that. But I, like most of us loyal fans, want him to come back.

Jul 22 2004, 02:14 AM
I think that could happen...it would seem like a pretty good ending, but it's true, it may seem like LOTR...but enough of HP is like LOTR so it wouldn't really make a difference.

yes i totally agree because harry is just like everyone else because he is human no matter how special he is or powerful (sorry if i sound very snotty).he will die if he goes through the veil but i will point out that we have no idea what the veil is yet or what it can properly do or what it holds.

yeah! you really go the point for that!
we really don't know whatwould harry do in the end???
maybe..... he would just walk through the veil to live with sirius and his parents after defeating voldemort!
you're right! but we better wait for the last two books!
but you know, i agree with you!
you really got the point!
stay cool!

Jun 9 2005, 06:03 AM
No. That could be possible. Jo said she might kill Harry in the end. That could be one possible way she could finish up her books. Besides that would be a happyish ending. Even though he will be dead...
gryffin_hauz_88
Jun 11 2005, 08:11 AM
No, we still don't know. He still has the Weasleys (especially Ron) and Hermione. And even if Ron will die, he should not waste the sacrifices his best friend did. His parents, Sirius and Ron will not be happy if Harry will do this, well, stupid
suicide.
But, you've got your point, mate!

if harry was to walk through the veil i dont think he would come back. i think maybe its the easy way out if you get what i mean. if someone wants to die painless, maybe thats the way to go but i dont think there is any way back, lupin and dumbledore made it very clear that sirius had died. however i still dont think sirius has gone forever, im sure he will return in some form or another to guide harry through the hardest times in his life.
sorry if you dont agree with this

Well according to prophecy harry cant really die unless voldy kills him! So he could just walk right through that evil veil (anagram by the way) and rescue sirius! YAY!!! Then everybody would be happy! YAY!!!
Much Love

First of all i think that Harry might of thought about going through the veil but Lupin said that Sirius was gone, so i don't think he would've wanted to kill himself. Also he wanted to go after Belatrix (don't know if i spelled that right) because of what she did to Sirius.
