Think about it. This sport is Harry's pride and joy. He's been on the team his whole time at Hogwarts and is completely free when playing. But what about all those down sides?
Every year! Every single year something bad has happened that is related to Quiddich. The jinx, the rogue bludger, fainting and loosing his nimbus, Quiddich being cancelled for the Triwizard Tournament (It was horrible for Harry!), and Harry being kicked off the team are what come to mind. Apparently, these events have been getting steadily more dangerous or breaking for Harry. I mean, at least during GoF Harry was still on the team. He had to watch from the sidelines because someone kicked him off the team during OotP. What will happen in HBP, or even the seventh book then? If I didn't think any better, I'd say that the final battle would start during a Quiddich match. He has a bad memory for a great sport in every year. You tell me how bad it will get in the future.

Hey, good theory! Yeah, Harry does seem to have some really bad luck while playing Quiddich, doesn't he? I just hope he gets to play Quiddich again this year, he hasn't played for two years now, so I'm looking forward to that.

I am looking forward to it as well. It has also been a while since a new broomstick has been introduced, and I think it is about time Harry gets a new one. But I believe you are right in saying that something unfortunate will happen to Harry while doing something quidditch related. He's freakin cursed.

I think Hermione had a point, actually, in OotP, though I think her motivation was different....Quidditch is really very divisive. I guess to a point it's what the students make it, but the teachers (as per OotP) get really into it as well. Winning becomes more important that inter-House communication. Look at what Quidditch did to the normally cordial relations between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor...Ginny and Michael Corner, I believe, served as a microchosm (and may I just say how much I love that word!) of the deterioration of the relationship between the houses that started with Harry and Cho. If the Sorting Hats' warning is to be taken seriously (and I think it is) then the Houses (and really, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw...that lot in Slytherin won't look out for any except themselves) need to unite, and not compete with each other as well. I can't believe I am saying this, but maybe Umbridge was on to something. I do believe that she said Quidditch causes to much competition as well.
