i made this as a companion to the 'you'd throw your book out the window if...' topic. here you can say what they'd have to do to the movies to make you gouge your eyes out it could be a cut, a change, something they included that would be toataly unaccepable, ect.. personaly, i was on the verge of doing so after the 3rd movie, but not quite. mods: if this belongs somewhere elce, like moives general, or i misspelled something, please edit/move. so, my list:

*if they replace dan rupert and emma. it's too late to get new people now, evan if they do start to look too old. i'd just change them so much.
~if they ever used a song by the partridge family in it (i'd also throw my book if JKR ever wrote a part that constituted using one )
*if they added and ship that wasnt in the book. evan worse, if Jo didnt even write any, and they still put one in.
~if they added any charactors not form the book

that's all for now people!

- they take out any more marauder stuff!

- they have another one of those corny end shots of a blurry harry on his broom.

- they add in anything really stupid.

this new movie looks really promising though.

If they completely remove the Qudditch(SP) World Cup. I mean, c'mon, it's the WORLD CUP!!

or thay have Ron and Hermione macking out in the broom cubered .
I know thay like one an outher but it Ron and Hermione for crying out loud i don't what to see them macking out anny where .

or if thay live out inportint things that you need to know about the plot . like who was Mony Wormetill, pladfoot and prongs, and what is the map. . and who mad it and why was it good thatPeter was still alive poa just kinda missed all that inport stuff.

or if thay cut out quddich all together. i mean i like quddich its one ofthe things thayilike about the book if thay keeped it the way jk wrote it . it would mack us all happy . and would mack a better movie

If they replace any of these actors who have so Brilliantly!!!! portrayed these characters ( I don't care what anybody else says, I think they have all done a great deal being so young and having such complex characters to portray: Harry, Ron, Hermione, Draco, Neville, or Fred and George.

if they try to cut out so much to make the movie shorter. I mean, my kids and I have all sat through Braveheart loads and loads of times, and we would rather have more movie than to cut out more great stuff from JK! Please, make the movies longer!

Other than that - I think the movies are getting better each time and I love the extra stuff they come up with - like the shrunken talking head and that cute black kid who always says such heavy things proclaiming doom! Anybody know what his name is supposed to be? Not Lee Jordan or Dean Thomas. Anyway . . .

totaly, they are too short as it is. seriously, they should just throw the time limits out the window. really, anybody who's a harry potter fan or read the books whould sit through it, no matter how long it was. one of my major problems with the movies is cuts, so if they were indefinetly long, they'd br almost perfect, in my mind. yhea, like i said before, ships, gack. i really dont evan want JK to put any in the books. it's just so hard to see any of the charactors get romanticly involved, but on screen? AHHHH!!!!! your right. moody. that would be ULTRA cheesey. and the whole cut about not properly explaining the maruaders was just really awful. most people who only watch movies...er...arent really super geniues', and evan most people who can really interpertet text but watched POA and hadent read the books would be toatly clueless to the real plot, and they expect exclusive movie-goers to get it? ah, man. oddly enough, most people i know who like the movies really dont like quidditdch too much. to tell you the truth, i think it's kinda boring in the movies. it pretty exhilatrating in the books, but not so much on screen. eh, well, i'm not big on telivised sports either. the best part about them showing flying is like when harry swallowed the snitch, that part in poa with the storm and padfoot, ect.. me mum isnt too excited, because the world cup will be included, asn she thinks it's be like 1/3 quidditch.

*added anymore really cheesey endings like POA and COS, ecpecialy.

~if they dont make the credits as good as POA's was or dont do anymore after-blurbs like the 'who am i?' in COS. evan though it was sorta stupid, it was still fun to see. i didnt like the shrunken head that much, but it was funny, and the kinght bus was good on the whole.

*one other thing; did you know the hunchback guy at the leaky couldren is sopposed to be tom? remember the old guy with a tie and grey sideburns form SS? old bartender, freaky hunchback with a car(that part was pretty funny ), hmmmmmm.... if the directors make any more changes like that, it's defiently time to break out the ice-pick

I would gouge my eyes out if

* they tried to be smart and cut out Sirius
* they tried to be funny and cut out Dobby (i think he's a sweetheart)
* they cut out ANY (and i mean ANY) part with the other champions and focus only on Harry. I know that the book has the challenges in the view with Harry but its SOO important for there to be compasion and feeling for the others as well (i personally loved Cedric and Krum)

and i would go over there and do something violent if they

*make dumbledore more of a hippie or give him stupid cliches as lines...i kid you not...there will be (insert word that is a place that is bad with fire) to pay if that happens!!

I liked the 3rd film, way better than the other two, they were rather pants, apart from Jason Issacs and our Alan. *druels*

*If they go ultra crazy with the Hermione Ron shipper again. I mean, it wasn't that obvious on PoA in my oppinion.

*If i find out that the girl who plays Tonks (or any new character) can't act. there are so many people wanting to be these characters i think they can be a wee bit more picky.

*Another cheesy ending like in Cos and PS *cringed*

*If Dan goes back to his bad acting in like in the 2nd film ('Voldemort killed my parents he was nothing but a murderer' to this day i don't know what comes next, always laughing! ) but admit it people he imporved so much for the 3rd film.

*If Ralph Fiennes botches our Voldie up, can't wait to see that scene on the big screen, it's probably my fav so far. Plus if they cut it in any way, i will be very very angry! Grrr Argh! Feel my wrath! *Points finger at the director, nothing happens, and her tendonities kicks in* Ahhhh pain....painkillers!

2. They watered down the Death Eaters into like 5 people or something

3. If they took out the scene where Ginny, Luna, and Neville meet up with the Trio after Umbridge in OotP.

4. IF THEY WASTE A GOOD MINUTE ON A STUPID BIRD HITTING THE WHOMPING WILLOW!!!!!!!!!

5. If Bellatrix is blonde

6. If they cut out the fall-out between the Weasleys

7. If they ruin Luna...i think i would cry.

Um, if they left out the part with the Twins (fifth movie) causing chaos then leave the castle...but oh-my-gosh they left peeves out they should have kept him for the 5th movie so the twins could have said "Give her hell"

Here are a couples of recent thought...

2) HP would actualy turn tobe the new dark Lord! wait... wait... I would actualy like that

I would gouge my eyes out if any of the characters were replaced, not just Dan, Tom, Emma or Rupert. We already had to go through a switch with Dumbledore's (though that wasn't their fault). It's way to far along to change and they can't go off saying that they look to old. Just slap some make up on them, they'll look younger. I mean Tom Felton is turning 18! 18!! But he still looks 15ish so as long as they can keep that up no ones the wiser right? People have grown attached to how these actors portray their characters so it would be a shame to have them changed this far along in the series.
Also I would gouge my eyes out if they screw up really bad on Bill Weasley, I am really looking forward to seeing the person and wardrobe they chosen for him. It says in Goblet Of Fire (this isn't a direct quote mind you) that he looked like he'd fit in at a rock concert and having gone to a far few myself and having a pretense of what that character should look like built up in my mind already I think I will find myself being more critical of him than the rest.

I would gouge my eyes out if, (like so many other say ) the got rid of Dan Emma Rupert etc I would die if they got rid of alan rickman aka snape.

If they changed the story line.

1. If they replace any of the actors - I've grown quite attached to both the students and the teachers.
2. They introduced some stupid plotline that's not in the books.
3. They took out some something crucial - I hate that they took out Peeves in SS.
4. The theme music changes too drastically. I understand that with a new composer, things might change, but the theme is one thing that can't. The HP theme is one of the most recognizable in movie history!

*I would DIE if they replaced gary oldman as sirius. he portrays him so well and the look in his eyes when he was wanting to kill wormtail....my heary skiped a beat.

Oh my gosh, well for the movies they better include the myrtle bathroom scene, Dobby waking up harry before the second task and all the ghost coming out of Voldy'd wand. There are so many others, but these are my favorites and they should stay in the movies.

I don't mind them taking out SPEW, but they should have kept Percy in this one, the Wetherby thing is hysterical.

They should have cut CHO out, she was nothing but trouble. But off topic again, sorry.

they end a movie with the whole school uncharacteristically applauding and cheering hagrid for no apparently good reason, except that he arrives late and 'it's not hogwarts without you hagrid'....

I probably wouldnt gouge my eyes out, I quite like my eyes and I'll keep them, no matter what happens. Except, perhapys watching the Harry/Ginny scenes will test my endurance, and they BAD ending of HBP ... but I'll keep my eyes

2. They cut down the big battle or cut important bits in OotP eg. the veil and the whole death eaters chasing Harry & Co through the DoM. That is what i am most looking forward to.
3. Anymore freeze frame endings
4. Too many random shots of the Hogwarts grounds like in PoA.
5. Harry and Ginny kiss. Can you really imagine it in the movie?
6. If Ron and Hermione(please no,please no) do end up together and have to kiss

~If they skip a huge scene that's important to the plot
~If Harry screams too much
~If the movie ends at Howarts AGAIN!!!

URG I agree that the movies SHOULD NOT end at Hogwarts...what happened to Kings Cross Station and the Dursley's picking Harry up and saying good-bye to everyone? OHH I JUST THOUGHT..what if they take out the part at the very end of OotP when everyone, especially Moody (how handy that eye of his can be..), talks to the Dursleys? That just wouldn't be right and I would be very depressed. There's so much that hasn't been in the previous movies, especially the third and fourth, that I don't see how they'd be able to add it all back in. I realize that it must be difficult to fit everything in, but come on! Put in the important stuff that is vital to the plot! Make the movies three hours long, I don't care! I'd sit there for five hours if I had to..ok maybe not..who am I kidding? Yes, I would...anyway I'd also hate it if they somehow took out all the Umbridge stuff like with Harry's detentions ("I must not tell lies") and going into the forest and her being taken away by the centaurs...of course she is eventually rescued but I want to enjoy seeing her tortured. The whole fifth book is just amazing and I really hope the movie isn't a disappointment; I recently re-read it and I just don't see how they could really leave much out; nearly everything is important. Even if the movie turns out to be unsatisfactory and I complain about what they left out or added in or whatever, I'll still learn to deal with it because let's face it, I'd be lost without HP.

LOL totally. I will refulse to by the DvD of the next film iff they miss out Umbridge and the Dursleys! The Dursleys werent in the 4th one so they have to be in this one. I will cry so much when severus dies...they have to put in Kreathcer too beause they didnt put on Winky in the last movie along with Dobby i was looking forward so seeing her and SPEW lol. I Would Gouge Your Eyes Out If... they replaced Bonnie, Evanna, Emma, Dan, Tom, Rupert, or anyone one else for that matter but if they replace Bonnie Wright or Evanna Lynch then that would suck big time haha. becasuse they are so pretty and just wow. but i dont knw and if they cut out my favorite part i guess

~as pretty much everyone else is saying, if Dan, Rupert, or Emma were replaced..
~if Maggie Smith or Michael Gambon were replaced as well
~if they made Sirius's death a quickie, without emotion or anything like that--please, that is one of the biggest scenes of the first five movies! DON'T make it SUCKY!
~if they make the fifth movie anywhere under 2 hrs. and 15 minutes.. i mean, the 1st movie was what, almost 3 hours? And that was like 300-some pages! Book 5 is 872 (that's just a guess--i'm not sure of the exact number.) I think it's fair to say that OotP is worth at least as much time as the SS movie, don't you agree?
~AND, if they cut out the scene of Umbridge being whacked out of Hogwarts, I really wanna see that scene! (too bad they've yet to introduce Peeves to us.. I really wanted to see him "give her hell from us"
