Full Version: Percy/Hermione

Before you start shouting "No! Percy is with Penelope and the only Weasley Hermione is suited for is Ron!", think about this one...

In the latter books, I don't recall Penelope being mentioned at all. Perhaps they parted ways for one reason or another (Percy getting so caught up in his Ministry Job, perhaps?)

The two are remarkably alike. Both think studies to be of most importance, both are/were prefects, and Hermione seems to be on the way to being Head Girl.

In the case (which I'm hoping will happen) that Percy redeems himself with his family, Hermione will be seeing a lot of him due to the extensive time she spends with the Weasleys.

And yes, Percy is a few years older than she, but once out of school and a part of the adult world, age seems to matter less to people...

With that in concideration, I'd love to hear your comments on the subject smile.gif!

EDIT: That's not very nice. sleep.gif
Imagine that, percy would propably die that he got a girl.
Snivellus
I can't see it, really...I do think Percy will redeem himself, though. I'm sure Jo Rowling hinted about that. So maybe you're right!

Pervert. yuck .

Firstly, I don't see how anything I typed or suggested is in any way perverted.

Secondly, Percy had a girlfriend in the 2nd book and she is still his girlfriend come the 3rd one.

QUOTE
Pg 431-432 of CoS, US Version (in the Book I have)

They were almost at King's Cross when Harry remembered something.

\"Ginny - what did you see Percy doing that he didn't want you to tell anyone?\"

\"Oh, that,\" said Ginny, giggling. \"Well - Percy's got a girlfriend.\"

Pred dropped a stack of books on George's head.

\"What?\"

\"It's that Ravenclaw Prefect, Penelope Clearwater,\" said Ginny. \"That's who he was writing to all last summer. He's been meeting her all over the school in secret. I walked in on them kissing in an empty classroom one day. He was so upset when she was - you know - attacked. You won't tease him, will you?\" she added anxiously.

\"Wouldn't dream of it,\" said Fred, who was looking like his birthday has come early.

\"Definately not,\" said George, sniggering.

Haden't thought about it till now but maybe they would b gd 2gether smile.gif

Hermione just seems to go with everyone these days doesn't she? Tee hee......perhaps there would be too much braininess though, you know? I mean, they are both VERY smart, and they don't boast about it, but they don't sit there quietly either.
Ceres
Oh, Percy boasts. Percy is one prideful male. I understand the concern for so much braininess... I don't think Percy is really that brilliant... just able to accomplish things and is very proud of it.

I wasn't one for Percy and Hermione until I decided to write a HP fic (first ever) and basically drew two names from random... and it worked well for me... yea...

And yes, Mione does seem to be quite the 'Hogwarts Bicycle' these days in HP shipping...
Naz
hmmm.. you are right^^!! they both do have a lot in common
peaceoflorien
Even if they have a lot in commom doesnt mean they're right for eachother. Opposites attract.
Naz
yep yep!! are ron and hermione opposites??
peaceoflorien
well, they may not be opposites but they arent exactly the same...
Ceres
Opposites attract in physics, but not always with personallities... I know from experience. People with just enough in common with you, but still enough difference to be noticeable...
peaceoflorien
meh, hermione is too good for percy, her and ron were made for eachother =P
Naz
^^yep yep!! i dont think that she see's percy that way
peaceoflorien
I dont think anyone but miss clearwater ever will!!!! =P
Ceres
*coughs* Well, I do. tongue.gif. I'm a freakin' Percy obsessor (and Cedric.... the two couldn't be more different...). I was jealous of Penelope. Sad, but true.
peaceoflorien
Hehe. Well, to each their own... I guess. =P
WizardKelly
nope I dont see this , NOpe . I Dont think So ,
peaceoflorien
yeah, neither do i, hermione cant like ron AND percy... =P
Ceres
Oh, sure she can! tongue.gif! The mind of an intelligent girl is a very complicated thing. She can like two people that are very different (I do!). tongue.gif.

But come on. If you guys WEREN'T Harry/Hermione or Ron/Hermione shippers, you could see it happening, right? Not in the books (as I don't expect it to...)...but... you know, all AU like.
HeyUSA26
I dont think so. For one thing, hes quite a few years older than her. Plus, its never said they DID break up (Penelope and Percy). plus hes a huge butt and i dont think hermione could live with that! also, i just think ron and hermione would be cute together. but i dunno, well just have to wait unless jkr actually says so!
Ceres
 I'm not saying JK will ever say anything about Percy and Hermione together, I'm just saying I think they would be compatable. He's not really that much older than she is... 4 years difference... the difference between Bill and Fleur is much larger (I'd say about 10 years...).
Naz
i dont know about this ship. in the books they never talk to eachother in a boyfriend girlfriend manner.
Ceres
It does state when Hermione is getting mad at Percy in book 4 that she got along with him better than the others... Dealing with the situation with Winky...

QUOTE
\"She didn't do anything- she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time!\" Hermione snapped at Percy, who looked very taken aback. Hermione had always got on fairly well with Percy- better, indeed, than any of the others.

I'm not saying it's a romantic quote, but does show that Hermione and Percy got along.
peaceoflorien
yeah, i agree that they are alike, but i still dont see it happening =P
Naz
i dont think that she will like him after what he did in the 5th book to his family
avrilluver
eeeemmmm... i dunno. TWO uptight, controling perfectionists in a relationship? ick. recipe for disaster. they really are a bit too alike. i think i'll stick with penny+percy if not percy+noone, thanks.
i wouldnt mind reading some h+p fic, though. smile.gif where's yours located? smile.gif
Souljacker
Sorry Avril but I’m sure you know the ship rules by now. No debating in the ship section (unless it's a debiting thread), this one although quite old is not. Please be more careful in future.
FleurDelacour
I have never thought of it before! i doubt it though!
biggrin.gif

MOD EDIT: Please refrain from posting one liners on the boards. wink.gif
Amyrat151
This ship does make a kind of sense. By just reading the first three books would be possiable. But Percy has to many problems at the current time to persue a relationship with anyone. Hopeful he can work things out with his family.
Hallia
hiya FleurDelacour!!

Could I ask you to please elaborate more in future posts? One liners and short posts are not allowed because they don't add much to the discussion. Also, please drop by the forum rules and read them if you haven't already done so.

If you need anything else, feel free to PM me or any other Prefect fr help

Cheers!!
BiggestHPFanEver
Well, maybe Penelope Clearwater is a name of one of his favourite books that he has read. biggrin.gif laugh.gif That is what I think and also I really don't think that that they would be together because Percy does not like Harry so I don't think he'll like his friend.(I am not starting an argument or offending you, I am saying my opinion.)
Helena_723
Percy and Hermione?! It'll NEVER happen! She can do better than that! *coughs* Ron! *coughs*
snapeslittlewitchie

I know that they're kinda have the same "we-need-to-follow-the-rules-all-the-time-coz-expulsion-is-the-worst-id-rather-die" attitude but it would be weird if the gurl Ron loves will end up with his older brother.

Nice idea though. But i'd still go for Hermione.

Percy and Cho would be nice, though. It might make him less of a weirdo. rolleyes.gif
