I too read the summery...i couldnt help my self tongue.gif *slaps hand* Bad RavenMist bad! laugh.gif
But well since the forum closes today? i might get my last posts in and then...well not sure reread some Harry Potter books for more R/Hr evidence! Have fun reading the book everyone.
accio_firebolt
I can't wait for the book to come out tomorrow and I know it says that it is only really focusing on Harry's love life... Hermione will not be involved because she will be with ronnie!!!! YAY..let the Hr/R ship provail..and let the H/NoOne ship provail..If you ask me Harry is destined to walk alone..as in the words of GreenDay.."He walks a lonley road.."lol

Hope everyone has a great time reading the book! I know I will not put it down!

BYEEEEEEEEE

I had begun loving this couple since...well...first book. Their squabbles always managed to put a smile on my face, and as I got older, I noticed all these hints in the books, and then a large smile dawned my face, and I was like 'Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!'. Since then, the hints have been getting less subtle, and I seriously think that they'd get together in sixth or seventh year. I think they started liking each other since first year, but have been to shy to admit their feelings.
beekyk2001
Why will the boards be closed? Im confused lol huh.gif well I guess I will get my last post in then. I might read the summary before I read the book. Im not sure yet I mean I want to read it but that might spoil some suprises. I may just read the 1st chapter then read the summary I dont know. laugh.gif Either way I will read it. Im going to be alittle naughty. wink.gif I can't wait to see what happens. Im ready for some Ron and Hermione action jk. tongue.gif
Louise
The notices have been up for quite a while now, beeky...wink.gif

They're closing to stop HBP spoilers leaking out...which they are, unfortunately, by the bucketload.

You might want to click on the link in my signature with regard to forums plans - it explains everything there.

i, like all of you, am looking foreward to what happens in the next book! something tells me nothing will happen until the seventh though. it just seems like jkr wouldnt want us to read two books full of ron hermione relationship stuff if it doesnt have to do with the main plot. im thinking it will finally happen in the seventh book, but im HOPING for the sixth. any other ideas sixth vs. seventh?
kool kat
I agree, luna moon. I just think that in this one more and more clues will be dropped for R/Hr, and just start to begin the relationship unoficially.
RavenMist
I bet you anything they will get a chance to go out or something but Ron will mess it up tongue.gif not sure why...but i feel thats what will happen sad.gif
Quality Quidditch Supplies
I think that six will give conclusive (or as close to conclusive as it can get in HP without actually happening.) evidence for whatever intership the trio will have. Obviously I think it will be R/Hr, but there are...er...other views on the matter. wink.gif

I honestly don't want the two to hook up in book six, mainly because every TV show that has had two people who 'have a thing' for each other and have such great scenes with all the tension; once the people get together, it either means they start hating each other, or they get all lovey duvey on you. I give Jo more credit than a WB writer, but I don't think that the books would be as enjoyable with an 'official' inter-trio relationship going on, and I am possitive that the time between HBP and Book7 wouldn't be as fun without the debate thread. wink.gif

BTW, lets try to keep the posts a little longer; we're standing dangerously close to one liners here. smile.gif
Allie
Mmm... yeah, I basically agree with QQS. I think that 'Half-Blood Prince' will definitely leave us with more clear-cut answers to romantic questions than any of the previous five books, and it'll be interesting to see the way the fandom takes these developments. I think that most of us like our good debates (I personally like to hedge around the great R/Hr vs. H/Hr shipping question, though I'm feeling R/Hr at the moment which is why I'm posting here tongue.gif), and I frankly think that J.K. Rowling likes to watch them, so I don't think that whatever happens will be flying-in-your-face rock-solid this-is-SO-going-to-last-to-the-end type-romance (do you think I put enough descriptors on there? wink.gif), but whatever romances arise will definitely be much more, er, mature and well-established than Harry's little thing with Cho in 'Order of the Phoenix.' So I'm really hoping for R/Hr at the moment (save H/G for Book Seven, perhaps), and I think there's a good deal of compelling evidence to make that case (including the dreaded Katie Couric interview that we're no longer allowed to mention on the debate thread wink.gif). Whatever happens, though, I'm sure that J.K. Rowling will handle it brilliantly... I'm not going to go commit suicide or anything if Harry discovers his deep inner love for Hermione. tongue.gif
Esrb99
yeah, Allie is R/Hr (at the moment)

wow, this is it... scary.

this might be the last post here, before it's all said and done. wow...

this may be it till July 18th, when we all MAY know if... it's over.

GOOD LUCK, FELLOW SHIPPERS!!!

MAY OUR SHIP SAIL FORWARD, and may WE believe in trees.

- Thomas
kool kat
Well, its my first time posting after Half-Blood Prince, and I must say the ship development was wonderful! Lots of evidence for Ron/Hermione. Are we still keeping the H/Hr versus R/Hr debate, because it has become rather obvious now, so there may be no need for it!
Esrb99
yes...

BTW, all R/Hr shippers, put the line in my sig in each of yours... in celcebration of R/Hr!!!

(NOTE: the trees thingy comes from the popular line, that R/Hr is as obvious as the existance of trees, or, 'I believe in trees.')

~Esrb99~
kool kat
I don't think I could fit your tree quote Thomas,so I'll just stick with my "I beleive in trees" quote! Well, it seems we have claimed victory. But please guys be kind to the H/Hr shippers, because I know I'd be upset if my ship sunk, and they must be upset now.
Amyrat151
Well Allie you weren't to far off. I LOVED THIS BOOK! Anyway, yeah it seems my dear fans the was is over, and we seem to have won. Ron and Hermione are together now. Harry is alone, for now. For them it's only half-time, I'm not worried. I've seen this line before. The guy giving up the girl for the whatever, they almost always get back together.
TheSpecialist
congrats guys it seems Ron and hermione might happen and i lost 5 bucks
to my friend who is a ron and hermione shipper and well i'm a hermione and harry shipper and she won the bet fair and square.
sigh

Well I take my hat off for you guys but now i must leave and ponder why!
lol biggrin.gif
Amyrat151
Sorry about the loss of money and your ship. I'm just happy. Can't help it. No doubt anymore about who Hermione has eyes for, crying over him, jinxing that stupid boy at tryouts for him. Funny, H/Hr fics had been said to of paired Ron with Lavender, intersting. Well, doesn't matter now.
Spattergroit
Hiya everybody, I'm new here, and I don't really know how to work this thing. But I've been a R/Hr shipper FOREVER! And now I can finally prove to my friends that Ron and Hermione are definetly getting together, now that it's officially obvious (just like the trees lol).

But they didn't get together in HBP! We have to wait until book seven (crys hysterically) oh well I'm over it.

Plus I'm also a Dobby/Winky shipper lol.
Amyrat151
They did, just kinda unoffically. They love eachother, feels so good saying that, were else can it go from here? the fan fic this will inspirer, can't wait.
whatdoyoumeanimamuggle
Ron and Hermione with Harry and Ginny would make everything...happy. biggrin.gif

All R/Her. fights are cute and flirty. hey dudes, give it time
Louise
Congratulations, guys...your ship finally sailed. biggrin.gif

Just one word of warning - one gloat, one sarcastic comment, one snide remark and I will go absolutely ballistic like you've never seen me before.

You've all been fine so far, except maybe Thomas who is dancing very close to the edge of the line, but we've enjoyed great inter-ship unity before and these boards have always had comfort zones for supporters of all ships and that will remain so - I would really hate to have to lock any threads because they turn into 'I told you so' or 'we're so brilliant and they're so stupid' posts...wink.gif

Incidentally, aren't you guys a bit disappointed? Not much of a get together, was it?
Hallia
Yeah, a bit dissapointed... BUt anyway, it seems they're going to go for it, so will get to see that in the last *sniff, sniff* book. I'll save the other thing I was going to say to avoid anyone getting anything spoiled. Great book anyway!
Quality Quidditch Supplies
Lol, Dana...always finding the silver lining, eh? wink.gif

I was absolutely stoked with the R/Hr v. H/Hr debate material here; I didn't want it to be concrete, and I got my wish. I enjoy the debates way more than I enjoy high school romance.

I was paralyzed with fear during the first half of the book, when it looked like Hermione was paying Harry more attention; I thought my worst fears confirmed. (I don't take being wrong very well...this book was a big blow to my pride; that woulda been the last straw tongue.gif )

So some sly H/Hr will keep the debates going, and for that I am thankful. wink.gif

But it was all worth it to see Ron's 'revenge'. wink.gif
kool kat
Yeah, and in this one you could tell that Hermione like Ron herself, not just the other way around. There are a lot of clues, I don't think I'm allowed to put them here!
Lynn
yep, disapointed, should've gone faster!! haha, well not only hermione and ron are noticing it, harry is too! BIG surprise! or was that a spoiler? in taht case, sorry.. and when are we aloud to put the new clues online? aaawh now we have to wait ages before they're actually gettin together.. Or... maybe jk wont put thme together at all! yeah, know what you're saying, you're saying I'm insane! but listen. Jk likes it to give us wrong ideas.. maybe nothin happens in the 7th, maybe she'll just give us a few clues, and give it an 'open end', d'you get me? so that we can make up the ship on our own.. could happen, right?
mioneweasley_witch
This is my first post after reading the Half-Blood Prince! I finally got my turn to read it yesterday (my sisters read it first) and I think the book was wonderful. This ship is definately going to happen with all the new evidence. They got like so jealous of eachother. And Ron was like always saying, "I'm tall" and, ' I would've told Professor Slughorn that your the smartest'! But I hated their fight since it was so long. but I'll never forget Eer-my-ne (something like that)
RavenMist
Aww i know! I guess our ship is getting the anchor drawn up and getting read for sailing! I just thought it was so sweet at the end...um
best if you highlight this, i don't want to spoil any fans

durning the funeral when Ron was just holding Hermione when she crying, so sweet. I think they are together from the start of book one! cool.gif
luna moon
i think it might have been a little too much if jkr described ron and hermione getting together in the end. the incredibly sad thing that happened (cough cough) would have taken the romance out of it i think. i liked how she wrote in ron just holding hermione, i thought that was really sweet and not disappointing at all. the relationship i think is implied by this scene. i loved the part when hermione was cursing ron! that was really too cute and showed her hostile feelings twards ron thinking about other girls other than her. ron didnt really even have a relationship with lavendar, it was just a convenient way to prove his little sister wrong! i think by the end of the book, ron has matured a lot. maybe in the next book when there are happier moments, well glimpse a little more of them wink.gif
Zonkos_Jen
I really dont understand how r/hr can be denied. i mean when ron was in the hospital wing and said "er my ne" or whatever, and when harry said that he knew it was going to happen and all. Hermione was going to ask Ron to the party and everything...theres just too much evidence to show that it's going to happen.
eedoe
JK did her best to dispell all the rumors and myths. I don't believe there could possibly be any question now.

Only thing else I can say is: HUZZAH! HUZZAH! HUZZAH!
CrazySexyCool
Victory for all who sail on the Good Ship R/Hr!!!
I dont even feel the need to point out little Ron&Hermione moments because to me the whole book was one!!
And it doesn't hurt that I was right about Ginny and Harry either. But I digress. Now that the H/Hr shippers were forced to abandon ship they will see that we were right all along.
Doesn't it feel good to be right?
Besides, the H/hr ship is outrageous. What were the chances that Harry would be walking along one day, get knocked upside the head by a stray Bludger that would suddenly make him want to say "Oi, Hermione, let's give it a go."
Umm..the chances of that happening are not very likely.
Even Harry who is usually stoic and oblivious to anyone else's feelings ( like any other sixteen year old boy.grumble grumble) notes that he belived that R&HR would get together for the longest.(Yay!!)
Anyway, I got to go. Love you all ( gives big hug and kisses all around)

Naz
Our ship has sailed! (finally) lol i was starting to get a little worried. but congrats to the ron/hermione shippers! i'd like to thank j.k for making it all possible! laugh.gif
Louise
crazysexycool, I take it you didn't read my warning then. Do you want this thread closed down or what?

For those who are still not clear there is ZERO TOLERANCE for gloating, namecalling and belittling. If you have nothing better to talk about, then we may as well just lock this thread and call this a day too. You guys have already seen off the debate thread...you want to lose this one too?

Find something else to talk about please or else...well...you know...

Congratulations for all R/Hr supporters. Jo Rowling has opened her cards. Hermione's heart is indeed for Ron and Ron's for Hermione. We can enjoy the books further without fear or anxiety about the outcome of the relationships.
Believing R/Hr relationship will happen doesn't mean liking the way Jo developed the relationship.
Ron is a unique fictional character. Hermione is a unique fictional character. They don't behave like ordinary people we see everyday.
Jo Rowling has the intention to make her story dark and violent. She has been writing about death since book 1. The whole HP series has a lot of violence and battles and death. HBP is not an exception.
Until GOF, Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny were considered mild teenagers. Starting in OOP until HBP they became as what expected in their world: violent. I am not too surprised if they treated each other violently in that setting, but I am not happy with it.
Again, it's one thing to guess who loves whom, it's another thing to approve the way they behave.
For now, just savour the new book and the development of R/Hr. biggrin.gif
Amyrat151
I am going to agree with who ever said that by Ron and Hermione saying "Oi, by the way we're together now," would of taken away the focus of the...um...death. But it's clear, they love eachother, are aware of eachothers feelings, faced death more than one that year. They are together, not will be.
muggleview
Yes, Ellen. Ron and Hermione are together. biggrin.gif
I won't say "finally", because it doesn't start in HBP. It started before that.
Harry acknowledged it openly in the beginning of HBP. Thus, they must have been together in OOP, perhaps even before. The angry feeling Ron showed rooted from GOF. Hermione might have not told Ron the whole truth about Viktor. Ron felt betrayed that Hermione had actually kissed Viktor. Therefore, he did what he did in HBP (I don't agree with his action).
I stand by my opinion that Hermione and Ron starts to be "together" at the end of GOF, right before the end of term. Harry didn't notice much because he was still in shock about Cedric and Voldemort. However, Hermione suddenly was out of the picture in most of the last chapter of GOF. She gave Harry a kiss as a "member" of the Weasleys. Then, she stayed with Ron for most of the summer.
Okay, that's only to distract people from too much into HBP.
Now: does anyone notice in HPB that Ron and Hermione stole time to be in private? Try to find moments where Ron excused himself and Hermione did the same at the same time.
Cheers,
Muggy
kool kat
Well, yeah, I mean, this isn't a big deal, but there was one part where Harry walked in, and they were sitting in the armchairs in the common room together, for some reason that stuck with me. I too found what Ron did childish and immature, even though I love Ron.
Amyrat151
Well, I'm not quite sure about that one Muggy.
I can understand why Ron went out with Lavender, Ginny was right he did have the experance of a 12 year old, both Harry and Hermione have moved on it that part of their lives. Now here's Hermione, this amasing young woman who's ready for him, but he's not ready for her, so he freaks out and goes for Lavender.
Makes sense to me.
di_the_mad_muggle
ron and hermione totally, totally luv it. HBP had so many good moments, and so sweet and sometimes not so sweet between them (at the funeral, i was crying, anyone else? )i'm a geek i know but come on, he stroked her hair and they cried together, its like toooo sweet and tender, i luv LOVE!
Hallia
I understand what you say, Amyrat. Ron needs to become more mature, and that's what happens in his relationship with Lavender, as well as the fact that he appreciates how much he misses Hermione when she's not by his side, therefore noticing how much he needs her with him.
kool kat
I think Ron definately matured a lot from his unsucsessful relationship with Lavender. You could tell he didn't really like her that much, and I'm glad it's over. I really loved the part when he was asleep and said "Er..my..nee." it was too cute!
Amyrat151
Wow, I had no idea I was wise, I usally leave that to Muggy. smile.gif, thank you. But Ron just needed to be shallow and mack on someone who was just someone, not Hermione. Because that would mean a real relationship with all those scarry confusing feelings. He loves Hermione and had no scale to measure a relationship by.
muggleview
I agree that Ron needed to be more mature before he can appreciate the relationship. Jo Rowling took unusual approach by sacrificing one nice girl's feeling to make Ron ready for Hermione. Wasn't Lavender with Seamus?
I was surprised to see how many girls Ron gets all of a sudden. Even Myrtle is eyeing Ron, although she actually was waiting for Draco! Jo really worships the Weasleys.
Don't intend to start new discussions, but since Hallia is here, I couldn't resist.
Here it goes:
- Ron being an easy-going boy thought he has Hermione securely in his hand, but he doesn't really know what to do with her. He is okay with the current relationship. Hermione came to stay with him. Hermione helped him with homework (breaking her own rules). Hermione became softer in discussion with him (the bickering was not as often and is more fun).
- Ron is not up to physical contact yet (not that he doesn't want it). He probably just doesn't know how to start it. We know Hermione has shown impatience when Cho kissed Harry. However, Hermione remained firm on her principle that the boy has to asked it first. Still, Ron doesn't do it, and he actually got sensitive about it ("Are you that bad in kissing?"..."How do you know?")
- Ginny got Hermione's complaint and under high emotion, she decided to poke Ron into it.
- Ron took the message wrongly. What came to his mind was: Hermione's first kiss is not with him, whereas he has not kissed any girl yet. His pride is hurt. He felt betrayed, because apparently Hermione kept him in the dark (but instead, told the others, Ginny and possibly Harry, because Harry was not surprised). Ron wanted revenge. (Wrong actions, but I was not the writer). He decided to accept Lavender's open flirtation, just to show he can be a boyfriend type.

Jo Rowling has definitely departed from the traditional view. She doesn't take "the first kiss with the person of your life" too strongly. Yes, it's more realistic for this era. A person's first real kiss nowadays is often in the elementary school, most likely will not be the person of one's life yet. Now we have all four main characters had their first kisses from the "wrong persons".

kool kat
Yes, I was always counting on Ron and Hemrione's first kisses to be with each other. I was so dissapointed when I found out Hermione snogged Krum. Shes not like that. And yes, its becoming more and more common these days for a kiss not mean anything. Weird I think.
RavenMist
Oh well, at least they are together right? And yes that scene where Ron was just holding Hermione made me tear up a bit. It was so sweet. I still wanted to slap Ron when he was with Lavender tongue.gif
muggleview
Hi Koolkat,
I love the "er..my..nee" thing. Hermione was there as well. After hearing that, she forgave every kisses Ron giving to Lavender. biggrin.gif

Ravenmist, you can read my mind? I thought exactly the same thing!
Snogging every evening? otherwise time wasted? The canary bird did the justice a bit (I don't agree with it, but I accept it wink.gif )
luna moon
while it would have been really cute for their first kisses to have been with each other, how realistic is it? i mean come on, mine everyone i know's first kiss was like "yeah i was at a party and i didnt really know him, and i didnt want to look dumb when i was with someone who really mattered." i agree with you muggleview in that ron's pride was hurt. everyone else around him had more experience than him, even his little sister! i seriously have never met anyone whos first kiss was really meaningful. besides, im sure ron realised how important it is to be in a relationship with someone you can actually talk to and have an emotional attatchment to. i think he's really grown up as well
Amyrat151
I had my first kiss when I was like 5, not really meaningful. But Hermione kissing Krum...not surpised. It's like the other Joey. Let me explain, on Dawson's Creek there was a girl called Joey, who is a lot like Hermione. Whenever she did anything uncharacterist Pacey would say it was the "other Joey." Well "other Hermione" slapped Malfoy and dressed up for the Yule Ball and made Ron jealous in HBP.smile.gif
Trulove81
*kicks back smiling* I was so happy. Ron made me mad but it was I was happy that Hermione finally showed everyone who much she obviously liked him too. I was so mad that when Ron looked out the window and said he couldn't stop thinking about her I thought he was talking about Hermione then he said someone else and I about had a heart attack then it turned out to be the love potion. I glad we don't need to argue anymore. I for one wouldn't have debated anymore. I am very happy to see the h/hr shipper reactions because I saw horrible ones (hermionepotter.net) and I was like oh no but thankfully everyone here is mature. I don't feel the need to gloat either. I am very happy with the way it ended. Next year (7th book) should be exciting. Lots of Ron/Hermione but I don't except much there's going to be so much going on. I read the comment in the debate thread that I wanted to comment on "it was Spiderman like" I thought that too about Harry&Ginny and we all know that MJ excepted it in the end. I also wrote an editoral too and compared Hermione to Joey from Dawson's Creek as well as Pacey and Ron so I thought that was funny. So Muggy are people still debating about Ginny & Harry?

Oh as for my first kiss I was 14 and it was with a boy I didn't like, but the boy I did still hadn't shown me he had. So I kissed him and my crush finally came around and I had liked him for two years so yeah Carlos will always be my first kiss, but Bobby was my second and I will never forget that smile.gif
beekyk2001
Very well said Ellen.smile.gif I think we can all agree that we like the "other Hermione", as much as we like "just Hermione". I think we have also seen the other side of Ron as well. By him just going and kissing Lavender in front of Hermione, and him telling Hermione that he loves her. biggrin.gif
