El Verte Veritas
Anyone remember how Harry saidthat the tent they stayed in during the QWC was just like Mrs. Figgs. Is that odd? I wonder if thats going to deep. But why put in the book that the tent was just like Mrs. Figg's without it meaning something. If I remember right, did't the tent belong to Mr. Weasleys partner, Perkins I tihnk. Tell me if you agree with this.
Cubed
"Furnished in exactly the same style as Mrs Figg's; there were crocheted covers on the mismatched chairs, and a strong smell of cats."

Nah, i just think it had the same feel as Figg's house, plus how many times has Harry been to Figg's surly it would have said: 'Harry knew he'd been here before...it was Mrs Figg's house!'

Yeah, I agree completely to Cubed's post. Ms. Figg's house was probably just used as a comparison to the tent, to add detail to the story.

And to add to the discussion: Why would Mrs. Figg's house be a tent? If she were a witch you could suppose that she made a replica of her home for a tent (though, Arthur didn't get the tent from her). Perhaps this was just a little tease. I, like many others, had ideas that Figg was a witch (even though she is a squib) back in book four.

I'm so glad you put up this thread. I read GoF about two days ago, and wondered something when I read the part about the tents.. Perkins could be her husband. Her name is Mrs. Figg.. Or, has it explained in the first book that she was widowed? I haven't read it in a while.. And, is Perkins his last name, or first? If first, his last name could be Figg.
And, if Perkins is her husband, he could've charmed their tents to look a bit like their house for if they ever need their tents, they could feel like they're at home..and still have their cat smell.
Hehe, I kind of doubt this theory..but what do you think?
El Verte Veritas
Resilda has the courage I do not, I thought this but I thought that if I put in in here, I 'd be stupid. Guess not though, huh Resilda. BTW what does Resilda mean? I wonder if they are related somehow. Or maybe Perkins is part of the order. For a while their I thought Mr. Tibbles, the one who warned Figgy about Harry, might be Perkins animagus. But does that sound dumb...
Ghost
Well perkins can't be her husband, unles they live in diferent houses. Because Fudge said at Harry's trial that he had no records of any witch/wizard living at her house.

hmm.. it'd be cool if 'figgy' [mundungus cracks me up biggrin.gif ] was married to perkins.. though probably not. i always found that part about mr. tibbles interesting though. that shows you that she doesnt just have ordinary cats. i cant remember her exact words, but she said something about how she was lucky that she stationed mr. tibbles nearby and he went and told her. can we just assume that mr. tibbles is part kneazle or something? or.. is there some significence in it? blink.gif

Lol, El Verte Veritas, it's never stupid to put in a theory ( of course if it doesn't make any sense wink.gif ). Didn't think about that, Ghost. They could be divorced, hehe..but then her name would be Mrs.

I always thought that Mrs. Figg was very close to her cats, as some people are to their pets, so they know how to inform them of something. I think she said that Mr. Tibbles warned her..not told her, but I could be wrong. I don't think her cat(s) are magical, because cats are really smart in their own way..
