Okay guys, here you go...

I don't think I need to put supporters only on there, but seeing as how there are a lot of rather vengeful H/Hr fans right now, best to be safe rather than sorry...

As a longtime R/Hr shipper I am very happy that Jo has put the shipping wars to rest. I looked in over at Portkey - big mistake. The majority of them are being very childish. At least the mods have put up that annoucement.
All I can say is here's to (as Jo so eloquently put it) subtle clues and anvil-sized hints!

Ahh, a new thread...new beginnings, thanks!

Anywho, Queen Weasley was wondering where to get the interveiw here is a link to the one on MuggleNet
http://www.mugglenet.com/emscotland.shtmlYou'll see what we're talking about. You can read part 1, and read part two where the whole H/Hr thing happened by a link at the top of the page. It wasn't really Jo laughing, really Emerson and Melissa. It was rather unpleasantly unexpected if I say so myself, even though I am R/Hr.

Hey Kool Kat... I heard you were banned from MN's CoS forums!!! *wink*
Im Esrb99 on the comments there, so I was reading them... all the H/Hr shippers seem to hate you there, eh? lol
JKR is my fav. person of the week, as is Emerson... lol

Hey, I didn't know anyone from here was there. Yes, I was mad. Someone called me "a well known troll" and said I was banned from the CoS forums. Funny, I never even belonged there. Some H/Hr shippers there hate me, I used tp be actively involved in shipping debates, but it became too overwhelming for me to handle. I think they might remember me. But I try and be kinder now. Jo didn't really laugh with them, she actually kind of stopped them because they were carrying it farther than nessicary. Which is admirable if you think about it. Anyway, from now on I'll see you on the comments.

Jul 21 2005, 11:15 PM
Yeah, I don't think Emerson was very fair. It made many H/Hr shippers angry, and I think they're in their right to be, including Dana. Be nice to her and to them.
kool kat, to bad about you getting banned, but I've always thought of the CoS forums as kinda scary. And I don't know why people would say such things, you seem level-headed to me.
I have to agree with JKR a little, she did drop hintes.
kool kat
Jul 21 2005, 11:36 PM
Well, actually, I never really joined in the first place. Someone in the comments said I did, but I never have, and have never been banned from anything in the world of HP fandom. Thanks all the same!

But they did call me a troll, and I used to have such a good reputation around there too... Anyhow, I have considered joining CoS, but it was rather intimidating. Well, thanks very much for saying I sound level headed! Because I took it rather seriously when I was called a troll

And yes, sadly Emerson went overboard with the H/Hr thing to the point of large personal injury to some.

Jul 21 2005, 11:48 PM
You're welcome, you're a peach. But it's true, you're not some crazy, yelling, one-sided shipper. Just because you stand up for what you think, it's crazy. But to a point of reason of course, then you're just a jerk, and no one likes a jerk, you know?
Back on Ron and Hermione now. Their relationship, the way he told her he loved her, it's prefect because it's not.
kool kat
Jul 21 2005, 11:53 PM
Thanks again!

Yes, it was so cool because Ron didn't even think of what he was saying, yet you could tell it meant something to Hermione all the same. I really liked that (although it went a tad bit overboard at times) you could tell that Hermione had feelings for Ron, and it wasn't just Ron having feelings for her.
Amyrat151
Jul 22 2005, 12:22 AM
Yeah, that felt really good. Knowing that all that time, she felt the same way. It's so just...sweet. Sighs, it reminds me of this one song that played on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. But Ron and Hermione complete eachother, not inspite their differnces, but because of them.

What a relief. Now we can concentrate on R/Hr without thinking of other ships. It's been a terrifying day. There has been a built-up of steam since July 19, 2005, either joy or disappointment. The interview is really a way to let it blow up. Hopefully after a few days, all the built-up tension will diminish and we can think coolly again about our favourite pairing: R/Hr.
Anyway, it's good to be vindicated. Some couldn't resist to gloat (Emerson and Melissa are unfortunately two of them), but most of us know better that it's just a fictional series, and refuse to get back at whoever previously disagreed. It's of no use. We owe all posters the joy of looking deeper into our books. I wouldn't pay so much attention and found more interesting things if not for the debate, as Jo Rowling wished.
Hi, all,
Glad to see you after HBP. Hope you are happy with the development. So far it's been according to our prediction: Book 6 will only one step further, Book 7 will be the ultimate showing.
We almost have everything: holding hand, "I love you", hugging, comforting etc. We have seen two way reactions. I guess we have to spend several years and some money to see the snogging. That's how Jo makes money, I think.
I wanted to see more of the Grangers (when Ron visited them), but now I don't want it anymore, because it can mean a Death-mark scene. Perhaps at the epilogue of Book 7 will they be revealed once more, attending their daughter's wedding with the youngest Weasley boy.

Jul 22 2005, 01:01 AM
Rejocie Muggy, they are together. I thought it was very cool the way Harry looked over at his two best friends, just strating on this journey together, well he's forced to be alone, very poetic.
It seems I have to keep reminding people of that fact, that they together now. Not will be. It's just, they love eachother, they both know eachother feelings, and they're not with anyone else, what else is there?

*sigh* Yes, it's rather sad isn't it...the lonely hero. It will be especially hard for him watching Ron and Hermiones' already blooming relationship blossom even farther yet. But hopefully he won't be the lonely hero for long, though! I really want all of them to be happy. Hopefully in the end, they will. We can already assume a happy ending for R/Hr as there relationship has started. Unless one of them doesn't survive of course. That would be truly heart breaking.

I'm so glad that Ron and Hermione have a new thread. The third! I was so happy with the book and all the Ron and hermione related stuff. They are just such a cute couple! (Giggle)
Oh, I have a question. Can we include spoilers? It makes it a lot easier.
Allie
Jul 22 2005, 03:55 AM
The rules for spoilers are relatively simple. You can include them if you have huge spoiler warnings and you change the text color to orange, so you'd have to highlight it with your cursor to see it properly. For example:
| QUOTE (Example) |
Non-spoiler stuff... things about first five books ... blah blah blah blah blah
SPOILER WARNING!!!
| QUOTE (Highlight to read spoiler) | | spoiler spoiler spoiler spoiler spoiler |
|
This is the policy for the entire site (or at least beyond the Post-HBP forum), so anyone who posts in the 'Lounge,' for example, should follow the same rules there.
Keep in mind, though, that not everyone has read the book, and all of your various allusions to an existing Ron/Hermione romance may have already ruined an element of the mystery for some. There seems to be a general mindset in the fandom as a whole that all of the 'real' fans have already read the book -- this could not be less the case. One of my friends, for example, is waiting for the Chinese edition to be released, and some other people will be waiting for the paperback or for the book to be available in their libraries. I'm sure that you don't want to ruin the book for any of your fellow shippers (presumably all of you are friends around here, correct?) so keep this in mind at all times.
I'll be watching......

kool kat - I'm so sorry you were banned from CoS...but really, I wouldn't let it bother me if I were you. Emerson upset an awful lot of people yesterday, but it's not the first time he has been rude and rather arrogant and I doubt it will be the last. They really don't seem like particularly nice people over there and while I did used to dip in and out there from time to time, I won't be again and I have never been prouder to be a member of this site that has never treated its fans with such cold disdain and contempt. Major kudos to Matthew - he deserved to be in that interview far more than Emerson ever did.
Anyway, just to let you know that Mason will be taking over the SHIPS forums now, so please be nice to him and behave yourselves...don't give him any grief over here, yeah?

BTW - as a last point - Hermione_rocks - please don't say 'proved the H/Hr shippers wrong'....we were hurt enough yesterday and we don't need to hear that kind of remark from fellow HP fans. This site rises far beyond the childish, immature, nasty sniping that takes place so freely on Mugglenet - don't drag us down to their level. Also, you need to place your entire post within the orange tags - putting 'spoiler warning' and then posting right beneath it isn't sufficient, I'm afraid.
Alright then....carry on....

(I was only able to log on to this board last night - and that's the truth...)
I just wanted to drop in extend my hand and offer some
real congratulations to R/Hr on their ship sailing in!!!

It must have been a thrilling moment for all of you. (I can only imagine what it must have been like....

)
As for me - sincerely? I've really had a great time debating, interacting and flat-out refuting you guys no matter
what the outcome. Gosh - but - I had a
good time (overlong posts and all)! I have to admit that I'm kind of sad the debate is over though.... But I hope to run into some of you R/Hr shippers around the board and hope that at least a few of you might feel the same way.
Bye for now....

Westerly, I felt the same way. I miss my old debate thread...but, unfortunately, it started going the way of the war zone, and tensions on ships were high enough as it is.

Good to see you, Westerly, your welcome here...
On Mugglenet, it's not so much the forums, but more the comments board. they have aobut 5K people on at a time, comments are going to run rampant. And yeah, Emerson DID act childish, but ANYONE who's ship was GARUNTEED by JKR in person, would they REALLY not even say ONE gloating line? I dunno...
Kool Kat, so you were never on CoS forums? I wonder why they said you were baned and stuff... that was awful, just because you were defending your ship. But the number of people who said they would burn the books becasue of the ships or what JKR said during the interview is hillarious, in a twisted, cynical way.

Oh my!!! It's been a while and I'm really sorry for not being so active in this thread. Because I'm trying to look for clues and evidences for R/Hr, I always find H/G clues. And I'm more active in that thread...
BUT!!! We made it, guys! It's already JKR's, well, statement.
To all H/Hr, you are a real sport. Though I was never in debates, I'm reading them and I salute the way you fight for H/Hr. Because I'm doing the same for R/Hr. Well done!
Kool kat, you're banned?! Well, I'm actually active in CoS before (I'm in third year there) but I stopped because I find VTM more active and fair. And the mods there are not as active like our mods here. And as they've said, it's like a one- liner post forum, no forums are made excpet for the ships. But I've been there in that thread and luckily, no one told me that. But if you'll read the whole, well,
conversation, you'll see some who are out of the topic and making the forum personal.
Anyways, back to the topic. I'm really happy about R/Hr. Congratulations to all of us!

Kudos to H/Hr shippers. You guys are always entitled to your opinion, no matter what the outcome. This just means that now you get to write more fan fiction!

I hope the actors in the movies (Radcliffe, Grint, Watson) stay until the end of the series too. There have been remarks made that they will be way too old by the time the movies get that far, but the way I see it, if twenty-somethings (even thirty-somethings) could play teenagers in Beverly Hills 90210 and get away with it, why should it be any different for the HP movies?
Amyrat151
Jul 22 2005, 07:43 PM
19 is still a teenager

, and that will be about Rupert's age for HBP, that will be about 2 1/2 years off, not that big of a differnce, really.
Dana, you have been nothing but gracious since your less gracious and more angry post on the last thread

, so please don't stray to far, your opions are vauled. Don't let that...person, Emerson get to you. So you were mistaken about the whole H/Hr thing, it just means your differnt, not stupid or ignorant, just differnt. I guess I just feel to need to throw all my feelings out, move past the hole "shipping war" thing. I'm done now.
When he told her
he loved her, I just couldn't stop smiling. I'm kinda embarassed to say I cryed more with this book than any of the others. It just touched me in such a way, in adition to the R/Hr stuff, Ron saying
"We're with you, what ever happens" was my favorite part, that whole end sceen.
What do you think they'll name their kids?
kool kat
Jul 22 2005, 08:33 PM
Hee, Hee, yes those parts were quite touching. One time I read a fan fiction when Ron and Hermione named their child my name (Katherine). That actually made my day if you can beleive that. I always thought it woukd be cute if they named a son Harry...but maybe a little too cute.

Oh, HBP was sooo cute!
SPOILER WARNING I was really surprised about the whole canaries inccident. Hermione???
But the whole book made it so obvious that they like each other! Do you think that now Harry and Ginny are official that people are going to like them better then R/Hr? I like Harry and Ginny but I love Ron and hermione!
Amyrat151
Jul 23 2005, 01:54 AM
It's the other Hermione

, you know,
the canaries. But in my mind Ron and Hermione are offical, cause they're together now, what else can be draw from the book other than that? I think it would kill the mood of
Dumbledor's funeral to be like "Oi, we're together now." Why do I keep repeating myself? Sigh, I'm done.
As for kids names I like Desdemona, it's from Othello. And for a boy I like Anthony, not Tony though.
kool kat
Jul 23 2005, 02:01 AM
Yes, those are very nice names!

I like a lot of names, too many to list. Let me see, what would be a good name for a bushy red-head, clumsy child genius? Well, of course it would be fun if they used my name in the real story, not just that fan fiction, but that's really unlikely to happen. Maybe Jane? That's Hermione's middle name. Not sure whether I like it or not. How about Jen? Maybe Julie? Daniel? Nick? Just trying to think of ones that fit.

You mean that Ron and Hermione are together but Ginny and him are not?

Yeah, I think he will. But I know he is happy about his two best friends.
When I made a fanfiction, wherein I really have to think of a name for Ron and Hermione's baby girl, I really had a hard time. I tried putting their names together but it's hard and well, unpleasant to hear...

. Unlike Harry and Ginny, I named their baby Harvey and I didn't have to think so hard

. So I decided to name the baby, Jessica.
Back to the topic, Ron and Hermione are a perfect couple, though they're fighting so much. Speaking of fighting and bickering, do you think they'll, well, lie-low(?) with that. I mean, not totally stop but minimize the rows. Honestly, I don't want to because that's how they became obvious. But then, minimizing it for just a bit is ok...
Amyrat151
Jul 23 2005, 07:03 PM
Their relationship is prefect because it's not. They fight because they demand the best of eachother. I think they'll bicker more

.
It will make for fun reading I think, Harry feeling lonely well his best friends fall deeper in love and he will be all alone, I'm getting exicited. Sorry, I just love storylines like this. I'm so happy the story evoled the way it did. It reminds me of more and more of other stories I love, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer or Roswell.
And Ginny I'm sure will be jealous of their relationship too. It's going to be great.

Hi there, please check out the rules here. Double posting (making one post directly after the other in the same thread) is not allowed here. I've deleted your second post and pasted it below. Thanks Shanekool kat i apoligize if im being rather annoying about the subject, but i would very much appreciate if you explained how the whole ron/hermione relationship starts, im not asking for a page long analysis! just mention:
*who admitted they like each other first
and *who initiates starting a relationship...
Hmm.. It really wouldn't take that long to read the book and after all alot of what you are asking for is up for interpretation which is kind of a major factor of this particular thread I think. But please remember if anyone does post a synopsis of anything from the HBP use the spoiler warnings!

POSSIBLE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE SPOILERS(highlight to read, please)
Throughout book Ron and Hermione make their feelings for each other rather clear. Ron finds out Hermione kissed Krum, and gets together with Lavender. Hermione makes it perfectly clear that she doesn't approve of the couple, and is happy when they split up. They are not officially together, but are strongly hinted at.
Again, I recommend you read the book for more detail.

Wow, I've been away in England on holiday so I didn't have time to go on a computer, but I did manage to read the book, and can i say...
YES!!!
This was a great book for Ron and Hermione. In it Hermione seemed to show just as much jealously as Ron did at the yule ball, and it was so funny when they were talking about the slug party and Hermione admitted she had been hoping to take him.
