Hello!! This thread has officially been changed to all conversation about Artemis Fowl!! It started in conversation about the movies...but seeing as that was around 2004, it's a bit burnt out.
However, someone expressed interest in opening a new thread, but I figure this one just needs a good dusting.
So now all you Artemis fans can get in here and say what you like!!
~DrooblesDoes anyone know any information for the Artemis Fowl movie auditions? :?:

Nope, they haven't released ANY information on the Artemis Fowl movies at all, practically. We DO know who is directing it though. They BETTER make Artemis have black hair and blue eyes.

I think Eoin Colfer said in an interview or something in 2002 that it would be released sometime in 2004. I know I've read it somewhere though.

Has anyone heard anything new about Artemis Fowl movie? I was so excited when I read about the upcoming movie from back of the book, but it has been at least two years for that, and I havent heard anything since. I've started to think that they've burried the projet, but I'm not giving up hope yet...

The only things I've heard is that Disney and Miramax got in a fight and the kid casted to play Artemis got to old....
The only other things I've really found are polls on who should be who.
There were a few kids on the polls as Holly. It would stink if they did a kid because Holly is an adult.

Hey guys, this is just a bump up for this topic as it is now the place to discuss Artemis Fowl as a whole rather than just the movies. Well...or rather the thought of the movies. So, continue on with
all discussion.

The Lost Colony was great! It's probably the best Artemis Fowl book yet. I hope there's another one. So what do you all think Holly's going to do now?
Thanks to Just the Droobles to fixing this thread.

i LOVE artemis fowl!
I can't wait til' the movie comes out!
Wow, I wonder who's going to play him. It's going to be pretty hard to pull him off.
I don't know why, but i admire artemis so much. Haha it's probably the fact that he could scare mid-aged adults with his advanced knowledge. it's impressive
Holly is awesome too!
This movie BETTER be good, I hope they'll be able to portray the book!

Apparantly, they're looking for an irish actor to play artemis fowl. i havn't really read the books atall, but i do love movie adaptations of novels. But - recently - since harry potter they dont seem to have got any of these new films right. i think it may be because the storylines just aren't as good as harry potter, e.g. eragon - the plot seemed just too cleche for both adult and teenager's taste. To me a highly successful movie should be able to appeal to all age groups.

Really like this series! read it first when i was about 10 and couldnt stand it! came back to it a while ago when i was about 13 and loved it! i cant wait to see the movie, but i hope that they dont spoil it! A really good book also by Eoin Colfer is The Supernaturalist, in my opinion its better than the Artimis Fowl series.

The next book is coming on June 22nd! Yay! I can't wait, seeing as I'm waiting for like four series to come out with their next book and I'm getting bored of reading the same ones over and over again. I think I've read all of the Artemis Fowl books like four times this year, and the Maximum Ride books another three times, and I think I've even read the Stephanie Meyers Vampire books like twice in two days. Oh, and like five Dragonlance books, as I own eight of them. I've been really bored, so I'm really excited about the next one. Apparently it's about time travel, which is awesome, as that'll explain another view point on time travel, as every author explains it a different way.
I don't think I'm going to watch the movie, just because in my head, Artemis is really awesome, and I don't want it ruined. But I do have pictures of Anime Artemis Fowl, and I've decided that whoever did that made my day. Not the graphic novel, which I also haven't read though I have all the other add-ons, but regular anime. It's cute! Almost as cute as baby Inuyasha, which is adorable, and why don't all small children look that cute?

So has anyone here read the latest (sixth) Artemis Fowl book,
The Time Paradox?!
» Click to Show Spoiler - Click Again to Hide... «
The fact that against all odds--such as negative comments by the author (who said at one signing I attended that Artemis/Holly would never kiss), rumors that he said Holly would have romance with Trouble in book 6, and the hamfisted introduction of Minerva Sue as a possible love interest for Artemis in book 5--Colfer ultimately decided instead to let the beautifully close and deep (even if interspecies) bond/friendship between Artemis and Holly (my OTP for AF) develop into romance in canon made me DELIRIOUSLY happy--I still can hardly believe it happened, it's such a dream come true!

Here I was dreading seeing A/M and H/T, when instead Minerva Sue isn't even MENTIONED, Trouble barely appears, and the book focuses on the developing love b/t Artemis and Holly--I nearly died with joy/squeeing when Holly kisses Artemis!

It was better than any kiss I ever imagined between them!
Plus I love the way it was written--very subtly, with only a few ambiguous words directly exchanged about it, and lots of longing thoughts that broke my heart. So the fact that it actually happened--that the ship is now validated by canon--and was written beautifully to boot....well, I'm one happy shipper right now!

I REALLY hope that Colfer does write another book (even if we have to wait three years--*sigh*), because I really want to get some more resolution of

Artemis/Holly!
But if Colfer goes back on A/H now and throws Arty with Minerva and Holly with Trouble I will be very fake and forced, and I will be furious....

I liked Time Paradox. I didn't think I would but it was only $13 at Target and I had a git card sooo....

I was really surprised when Holly kissed Artemis but not unhappily so. I never really decided on a ship but since I didn't like Minerva, Holly/Artemis is good for me!

I didn't read any rumors so I've never seen Holly/Trouble but I'd be okay with that too.
I'm positive he's going to write another book! He can't stop now with two Opals running around which I found hilarious. I actually found the whole time travel/mini Artemis pretty funny so I guess I'm easy to please humor wise.
Has anyone heard anything about the movie? Or have they decided not to do one?

It was years ago when they were talking about the movie. I think they must have shelved it because i've heard nothing about it.
The Time Paradox was pretty good, although it was quite difficult to keep the pace up when the thrill of discovery (which worked so well in the first few books) is over. I think the concept was alright, but i think that since the Eternity Code the books have become much more filler than real substance. I re-read the first three and they are really good, like Potter good...

I LOVED the Time Paradox! It was really clever the way the story kept developing, and it did your head in thinking about all the paradoxes! I hope there is another book!
Oh, I love AF so much that I actually chose a signed copy of the 6th book to be my award at prize day, even though I had already read it!

I've only just read the first book of the Artemis Fowl books, but I really do like them. I can't talk about much, though, since I don't really know anything about the series yet!
By the way, am I the only one to notice that Artemis is really a girl's name? Artemis was the goddess of animals, hunters, and wild places in Greek Mythology.

Artemis' name causes him much grief over the series because, you are right, it is a girl's name. He does give his own brief explanation in book three, so you have that to look forward to.
Keep reading, they are amazing!

This is a really pointless series. I've tried and tried to read it, and it just has no point. I am a very picky reader, so fans of the series, dont take it personally.
