I think it will be EXCELLENT to see Ron and Hermione with Harry at the Dursley's!!!
I am REALLY looking forward to THAT! I am also really looking forward to finding out what the story is behing Petunia!
I like the idea of Krum being invited to the wedding because he was a tri wizard contender and Ron AND Harry being jealous!! I have thought for a long time that if Krum came back and Harry started thinking about LOSING Hermione he would finally appreciate how he REALLY feels about her. |
You have a great point there! If Krum is at the wedding, we know he will want to spend some time with Hermione. Of course, we also know that Ron will go into the jealous mode. Pretty predictable for Ron. However, it would be VERY interesting to see just how annoyed (to the point of jealousy?!

) Harry will become with Krum's obvious affection for Hermione. I agree, I think that Harry will not like the idea of losing Hermione to Krum. Like Nymphe said in an earlier post, ... it's going to be fireworks!

Dan: What about Ron then?
Jon: Who cares? The film isn’t called “Ron and the Goblet of Fire”, is it? He’s a lovely bloke, but we’re not as interested as you in the old zip-zip, leviosa… wingardium… zap Voldemort… ooh Voldemort. (Dan is giggling) What are you laughing at?!

Jon: I wish I could say it was the first but David Attenborough did it when he was here. So you’re a football fan then, are you? |

) So yes.. Ron attacks Hermione about Scabbers, and then she see's Harry sitting by himself and goes to talk to him.. I though it was pretty sweet
Anyways, I'll go an read your fanfic now, chapter 11 is it? Getting closer to chapter 14..

Well, it's obvious that Jon is a Harmonian!

He did seem to be determined to get his point across - that it is Harry Potter's name on the books, so naturally, it would be Harry that gets the girl (in this case, Hermione!).
I wonder why Dan thinks that its R/Hr? The films seem to show H/Hr with some exceptions, like when Ron and Hermione have some awkward moments (e.g. the "Do you want to get closer?" scene in POA). In a past interview, I recall Dan saying that he has read some of the HP books. So, I guess he doesn't see H/Hr in the books. Shame on you Dan! I would be curious to know how he feels about H/G happening in HBP? I wonder if he is going to enjoy kissing Bonnie Wright instead of Emma Watson on the big screen? I just get the impression that he likes Emma! They would make such a great couple - on page, on screen and off screen!

ok.... so many people think that h/hr is delusional......
but the point is, that's what we believe in.....
JKR said that we should read between the lines......
and we did......
and that's what we saw....
that HARRY and HERMIONE do belong together.....
is that a bad thing......?
of course not.......!
so i dont think that they dont have the right to say that we are delusional......
We read all the books..... and we saw the clues.....
ok.... what if they (h/hr) dont get together....???
so what.....???
it's not a bad thing...... we cant change it anyway.......
we will take it as a man....
But for us, H/Hr forever......
That's what we saw in the books....
even if they don't get together....
there's something in the books that tells that.....
HARRY AND HERMIONE belong together.......
and I will be loyal H/Hr shipper until I die....

Did any of you guys happen to catch Jonathan Ross on Friday? I don't know if you guys in Canada and the States might get it on one of the BBC world channels...but anyway, Jonathan made this big joke about Harry getting it on with Hermione. Dan cracked up and spouted the usual standard "JKR disclaimer" of "Ooh, didn't you see the anvil hints throughout the films?!" yadda, yadda, *yawn* yadda...but Jonathan, who is always extremely straight and to the point said something along the lines of, "Get out of here...who the heck wants to see Ron and Hermione?! It's not 'Ron Weasley and the Goblet of Fire' is it?! We don't care what happens to him, it's Harry we want to see get off with someone." Paraphrasing somewhat, but essentially, that's what he said and I thought to myself, you've got to love Jonathan Ross...

Trust him to tell it like it is. I don't see JKR waving any "anvil" remarks to him - a grown man who read the books, watched the films and is quite clearly as "delusional" as the rest of us.

I think Dan went on to say something like "But what about Ron? Doesn't he deserve some happiness?" to which Jonathan said, "Who cares?" and then made a suggestion of something that I forget now, but it drew a huge laugh from the crowd anyway.
Oh, and the suggestion of H/Hr drew screams of support from the crowd, so it seems we aren't alone in our delusions, people...

Long may the chainsaws reign!!

Anyway, I thought I'd spy on the neighbors by looking over our garden hedge (like Aunt Petunia) at our anti-thread, Venom:Harry/Hermione. If any of you get the chance, it would be nice to pop over there and read a bit, just to see what the "other side"

Oh, he's just referring to the end of most Bond movies where Bond is usually in some clinch with the Bond girl - the pod is like an escape pod, you know...like in..erm...was it The Spy who Loved Me? Anywho, he usually ends up in an escape pod of some description and that's what Jon was on about.
Fancy never having seen a Bond film...honestly...

You haven't lived unless you've seen a Bond film!!!
That's the conversation that led onto the Hermione/Ron thing, wasn't it?

Dan was so hyper throughout that whole thing...if he wasn't 16 I'd reckon he'd had one too many glasses of the good stuff...

They do serve *way* too much alcohol in that green room - Jim Carrey was out of his skull when he appeared on that show, it was hysterical!!

Back on topic. Methinks Ross understands the entertainment business better than most. If WB can make more money from the H/Hr interaction, then that is what they will do...end of discussion. Frankly, I do not care either way, but do not be surprised when you go see the movie that they play up the "love triangle" thing...it would be the safest route to go.

I've got to admit that I've never seen a Bond film in my seventeen-and-a-half years...I played hte video game once, but it sort of freaked me out.
I wonder, does it say if this Jonathon-person has read the books? If he's just seen the movies, he's obviously going to think it's H/Hr....sheesh, come the sixth movie, H/G and R/Hr are kjust going to blindside people who haven't read the books (combing through page after page of vitriolic arguments for that R/Hr love that was "anvil-sized")
Side note: Added the second half of Chapter Ten to my Year Seven fan fic...which concludes with a near miss (as in, Harry and Hermione...nearly...kiss).

Hm, I like James Bond. My dad always watches his movies when he has the chance, and I got bored with them after a while, but they're still pretty good.
The pics that I've seen of GoF mostly consist of Harry and Hermione looking like they're about to, or doing something affectinate towards each other. I think that directors love to toy with people's minds. First, Alfanso put the 'Hermione grabbing Ron's hand' scene in PoA, and later on, he showed that Harry and Hermione were holding hands while running through the Forbidden Forrest, and Harry holding Hermione in his arms. It's cruel, but funny nontheless. I think that GoF is gong to be a bit like that as well..
On November 18th, my school has a Trivia Night, and I'm on a team. Everyone in my team is a Harry Potter fanatic (me being the biggest of course

[and they all know that]). So, all of them except me are going to the theaters to see GoF after Trivia Night has ended (it lasts about two hours). I'm mad, of course. I still haven't made it official that I can't go, but it's most likely that my mom would take me the next day. And I don't mind, but it's the way that the girls on my team act.. Like if they don't see GoF the day it comes out, it's going to suck..

Nice post Rhyzie. It's good to see people sticking to their guns and follwing what is plainly apparent to their eyes.
Never heard of J. Ross or seen his show unfortunately, but the interview excerpts sound priceless and I love his enthusiasm for our ship. Dan and Emma both insist that it's R/Hr. What can I say? Everyone's entitled to an opinion. But I do find it hilartious that both Dan and Emma have each had to 'correct' people and point them towards what they are supposed to be seeing.
So yes. We're certainly not alone.

When you guys see the movies, fill me in and don't exclude me. Because most likely, I'm not going to the movies. (I just can't take the idea of being in a theater full of kids. Title: Expectations
Author: CutieCrookshanks
Author Email: jpg777@earthlink.net
Summary: Poem - Harry's point-of-view on who he should love.
They expect me to fall in love
With some admiring fan,
The one with the longest hair,
The one with the darkest tan,
They expect me to only have eyes,
And not a heart of my own,
To see the physical beauty,
And only that alone.
I know this may surprise them
But I have chosen another,
In my eyes she is wonderful
A new beauty I have discovered
She may be extra smart
And have her hair a chestnut brown
But she is nothing like those fans
Who would rather wear me as a crown
But that is why I love her
I don’t care if others can’t see
But we were meant to be together,
Me and my Mione
I like it! lol

You guys complain that you can't wait until the movie comes out on the 18th...try living in korea and having to wait until December 16th to see it. Fun.
I'm not all that surprised that both Dan and Emma think it's R/Hr. It would have been nice if they read it the other way around, but their experiences have led them to believe in that "ship".
Of course, they could be driven it that way unconsciously as the two have worked together for years and are close. I think that Rupert being a bit more peripheral in terms of friendship makes it easier to "play" up romances for Emma. From experience, I've directed actors (and have been directed) in plays and found that those who are closer (platonically) have a harder time falling into their "roles" as a fictional couple. It's obviously a testament to their acting ability, naturally, as verterans in the field fall into these roles effortlessly. Those with pre-established bonds having to play something other (read "closer") than that have a hard time resolving the reality of their friendship versus their onstage romances.
Maybe that's why the two are pushing for R/Hr. Just food for thought.
I'd like to know what Rupert thinks. He's a bit shy so I wonder that he doesn't say anything to not upset the status quo. Heck, he might want to push for H/Hr so that he doesn't have to play the angst-filled love interest, hehe.
But Jonathan's interview reminds me of that MTV segment when PoA came out where both Emma and Dan were guest hosts. The main host (some tall guy...what's his name?) wanted to know if they'll be any Harry/Hermione action and the two seemed a little nervous. Everyone seems to see it and I wait anxiously for it to play on bigscreen.

Now is the perfect time for some of us to go back and re-read GoF, if you haven't already done so. Even though I read many passages where it is R/Hr, I couldn't help but see some H/Hr too. Just the fact that Ron alienated himself from Harry (because he believes that Harry placed his name in the goblet) has caused Hermione and Harry to be together more. Harry and Hermione are a lot closer in this book than in the previous ones. And, let's not forget the kiss she gives Harry at the end of the book! She certainly didn't kiss him out of pity. Yet, in the next book, it was promptly forgotten! JKR threw us this 'bone' at the end of GoF, but then took it away in OotP! Not nice! You can get bitten that way!

Dominique- I liked the poem. Very well written.
Dumbledore's Window- I agree. She (J.K.R.) just can't give us such a big detail at the end of book four and completely ignore it (er... mostly, until the Department of Mysteries) for the whole book. It's not nice to toy with our minds like that. And the movie looks like it supports the fact that Harry and Hermione share more personal time together than usual (in absence of Ron).

Curious point. Why
does everyone seem to think it's Harry and Hermione? It really annoys me, in a way, that many other people seem to think along our lines but J. K. Rowling still denies us our desires. Do you think she'll cave in to the pressure? (yeah...right...

) It would be interesting, though, to see it that way.
Anyway, I can't say much else at the moment (because my whole day was ruined by an "outsider" comment poking fun at the "insider" joke of being
dilusional and a rather pointed statement by J. K. R. that ruined all the fun I was having with Harry and Hermione to begin with...

).
I'll get back to things when I can forget about this and just enjoy the fun we have here...

Oops. Dominique, I like the avatar thing. Cool. What movie is it from?

Do you know where a large version of the picture in your avatar can be found, Dominique? I hate to bother you, but I absolutely love that scene
I saw the CBS interview too! Everyone who sees only the movies (and a few of us who read the books AND see the movies) will be completely blind-sided by HBP the Movie. Ginny? Who is this red-haired girl who Harry suddenly gets a monster for? (LOL, and that will be portrayed on screen...how? If it's all emotional, I mean!) Well, anyway, GoF is just around the corner now!

It
should be interesting to see how everyone reacts. Better yet, here's another idea. It's so farfetched, I can hardly believe it. Why don't they make the movies and the books... wait for it...

expected H/G and Hr/R to be flings in book 6 and Hermione's role to diminish, as it had done in the previous even number books. It was that darn interview that threw people for a loop. It ain't over until book 7!
I have my signature for a reason.

| Do you know where a large version of the picture in your avatar can be found, Dominique? |
I have absolutly no clue sorry

I just found it on a H/Hr website, which is credited in my avatar (twobeats.com) if you couldn't see

And TheHarryinMe, I think it's from the GoF movie.. But I am rather curious where some one dug it up.. Oh, and Herminia, there are other types of avatars with the same picture.. Anyways, you can check it out, and if you
do find out where they got that picture from, let me know?

Er... you might want to try reading the rules again, Harry&Hermione4ever. They generally discourage one-liners on this forum. But, anyway, there are a lot of us here. It's really cool to hang out with all the Harry and Hermione supporters. As Nymphe says, "It ain't over until book 7!"
Dominique- Are you
serious?! They're really going to show that in the Goblet of Fire?! Okay, they (movie directors and such) are
definitely playing with our heads. We get one view from them, which is vastly more agreeable, while receiving an opposite message from the author. The hole they work themselves into only deepens...
Nymphe- Yeah, I was just acting a tad out of touch when posting. I really
didn't expect much relationship-wise from the book (until I read the jacket cover, of course), and it really threw me for a loop. I'll keep in mind it doesn't end until book seven, and even then we still have our fan fictions. As some guy said (I think he was a baseball player or something): "It ain't over 'til it's over."

Hey All!!
Great Posts!
I am so excited for the movie!! DAY AFTER TOMORROW for the Midnight Show!! I already got our tickets!!! I Can't Wait!
I am really excited to see all the H/Hr moments in the movie!!
Oh it is SO FUN being Delusional!!!
The previews have been so PROMISING!
I am just glad that the directors, producers, screen writers etc ARE H/HR shippers (Obviously!!!) because a R/Hr shippy movie would just be TOO AWFUL right now! We all get to be tortured by seeing our ship flaunted all over the silver screen for all to see! (I can live with that!)
But I'm DELUSIONAL! (Cackling madly!)
Have you noticed that H/Hr shippers seem to be coming out of the woodwork??? So many interviewers are exposing themselves as H/Hr shippers. It is most excellent!
Thanks to all of you for being so WONDERFUL and Posting such GREAT STUFF for me to read!

H/Hr shippers RULE!

I personally think that if - starting from now, this instant, the next movie script - the screenplay changes dramatically from the next book OotP, given proper direction and care, and (my humble opinion) some of the main actors recast - Emma/Rupert -, a good portrayal of R/Hr in the next movie would not be awful. It would be a good movie.
Of course, that would mean omitting PLENTY of already established canon material from the book, essentially altering character interactions and making up new ones (for the sake of the movie)...basically re-writing the original book. I doubt JKR will let the producers rehaul the very playground she created for them.
Emma and Rupert are fantastic on screen...just not together....in that way. To salvage R/Hr, the producers should (but will not, due to their popularity) recast them with two new actors that are dynamic with each other. It won't work if only one or the other is recast. But, again, the logistics of this is absurd: Emma Watson is THE face of Hermione Granger. Warner Brothers will milk that for all it's worth.
So all that work and trouble to salvage JKR's R/Hr relationship??? Given that the faces of mass media are H/Hr shippers, that it
makes sense on screen (and off), I hopefully foresee the continuation of H/Hr in the movies and with that hope is...well, more hope that we, the delusional masses, may influence the future of our ship in the final book.
...either that, or the movies are going to be bad.

That's Hollywood for you.

Rupert and Emma have no chemistry, as far as I can see - while Dan and Emma's on-screen relationship sells. Bigtime. I keep wondering why JK Rowling lets all this H/Hr-ness slide in the films if that's not where she's taking the books...it makes me think LOVE TRIANGLE, truthfully. Is she trying to show (through the films, and, we would argue, through the books) the imminence of a Ron/Hermione relationship (Harry/Ginny just doesn't come up in the movies...LOL) but the optimal-ness of a Harry/Hermione one?
*** The next chapter of my Harry/Hermione Year Seven is up on my website. Entail a Harry/Ginny break-up, Harry/Hermione sort of kiss, visit to the Ministry of Magic and more. The link is in my sig. ***

It really annoys me, in a way, that many other people seem to think along our lines but J. K. Rowling still denies us our desires. Do you think she'll cave in to the pressure? (yeah...right... ) |
Yah I'm with ya on this. What would be awesome is if Jo created an alternate ending book for h/hr shippers

. I'm still hoping for h/hr in the end eventhough I really don't think it'll happen

. We can all hope for the best (And when I say that I definatley do NOT mean ron ending up with hermione )

Dominique,
You KNOW that there will be H/Hr moments in GoF! I saw them in the GoF trailers! I cannot wait to hear (on forums) from those people that go and see the movie. I won't be seeing the film any time soon. I'll wait until all the hoopla dies down.
I expect to read great things from you the next time you post!

Hai,
I am a proud delutional. I am very much pleased to read all the posts here.I think that it is our ship which is going to sail in the end. In every debate or game we have to wait till the end to know who the winner is.So we have to wait until book 7. In fact HBP did not give any proof which is against our ship. Neither Ron nor Hermione conveyed their love to each other. Though Harry and Ginny came together, they parted in the end without any sorrow or pain.So the option for our ship is still open. There is something lying in between the lines which we cannot discover without the help of the author. So no doubt ,but have to wait to see our ship sailing happily.

Hi
Lupin123, welcome to the forums! (If I might say this as a still very fresh VTM member...

) I just read the quote you have in your signature....
| QUOTE |
I can"t stop thinking about her" said Ron hoarsely. Harry gaped at him. He had not expected this and was not sure he wanted to hear it. (Text) "Who are you talking about?" Ron. "Who are you talking about?" said Harry, with an increasing sense that all reason had dropped out of the conversation. |
Mmmmmhhh, very interesting! I missed this when I was reading HBP. Or should I say "My attention was distracted by JKR"? Well, anyway, it keeps me wondering about whom Harry was talking... And why he wasn´t sure he wanted to hear it... Of course, we H/Hr shippers know exactly why, don´t we

!
TheHarryinMe, you said it very nicely - "It ain't over 'til it's over." [meaningful, trembling voice:] It shall be my new motto!

Exactly,
Herminia! That´s exactly what I am thinking, that´s the only way all those subtle H/Hr hints and those not-so-subtle R/Hr hints make any sense whatsoever for me (besides thinking JKR might not be such a brilliant writer I thought she was). And I personally think, it would open up very intersting plot possibilities for the last book ([shouting:]
JKR, do you hear that??? You might consider this!!! Don´t forget to send me royalties if you use this idea
!
