Aug 9 2005, 04:54 AM
I'm glad it's PG-13. That must mean they didn't leave out all the freaky scary stuff that's so crucial to the story.
You know...it's a lot darker. More blood...frightening moments...yeah.

I think it's good that it's PG-13. As the books mature the movies need to mature and as the movies mature the rating needs to aswell.

They had to because of all the stuff that happens in this one that is more mature. For instance, the person that is murdered right infront of us, and depednig on what they cut out, myabe two people.
I'm really glad it's PG-13, because it means they didn't take out all the mature scenes.

I am honestly really pleased with the PG-13 rating because this is where the movies start getting darker. I really hope that the rest of the movies get the same rating.

Hey, I'm really happy that it's PG-13. I think they made it that because of the violence they will leave in the movie like Cedric dying, Wormtail's arm bleeding and etc.

I'm glad its rated PG-13, the books are getting really mature, and need cautions like that. Although, even those HP fans under thirteen will probably see it, and its okay, as long as they know what they're in for.

do people care about the rating when they watch a movie?

I don't know if people care about the rating, but I don't and I've never cared about it. But pg-13 rating is good, the movie is probably more mature and darker than the first 3

You have to think of it from another perspective; kids watch the Harry Potter movies too. Not just pre-teens and teenagers, and adults. Children, even small children. The rating is to aid parents to determine if the content in the movie is appropriate for their children to watch.
I wasn't at all surprised with the PG-13 rating; it makes sense. This is the heart of the series and we really see it becoming more mature and darker.

Hey I have to say I knew it was going to be rated PG-13 anyways but I don't think the 13 and under fans are going to care because the enjoy the books and movies. If they enjoy the books the fans are going to persuade there parents to go see it anyways. And a lot of people i think knew it would be PG-13 because the books get darker and darker.

I think the pg-13 rating is good.....this is showing that the series is becomeing darker and make for an older audience. Plus no screaming toddlers adding to the soundtrack! Whoo hoo!

Like I said, I am glad that it is rated PG-13. I am looking at this from the children's perspective as well. The only thing the kids will care about is the "Harry Potter" title. Quite frankly, I think that is what the parents will care about as well.

I was very happy to hear that Goblet of Fire would be PG-13. I was hoping it would be and am now very excited to hear that it will. The characters will be 14 years old. Curon gave the movies that nudge in the righth direction and I hope they keep going with PG-13 being as...
The books aren't getting any happier. More deaths... More Vol-- Sorry, He-who-must-not-be-named... Then we have the whole finale of book seven to think about. It's going to ve very traumatic, or at least that's what I think... PG-13 is a great choice for Goblet of Fire and would be nice if they continued that way to the seventh film...

no they won't
the theatures are just interested in your money that you have in your pocket.
they only check kids for R and NC 17
and yay GOF is pg 13. It makes no difference with small kids because all 3 movies were slightly scary the first time. And this move to pg13 means that it is darker than the second and third.
yay for darkness. mwhaha.

i was really excited that the movie was rated PG-13.. a movie about 14 year olds should be rated PG-13 especially when they have to go through a life-threatening adventure with a scary villian like voldemort
this rating means that it will stay true to the book because the moviemakers will have had the freedom to include things in the books that the other movies didn't have
many of the people my age (i'm 14), think that harry potter is for little kids (like elementary school age), but now that it is PG-13... i don't think they can ever say that again.. i mean almost every movie teenagers see is PG-13
my favorite part was telling my sister she couldn't go see it with me because she was under 13, of course she is still going, but it was fun anyways

PG-13, I think that mean 12A in the UK, correct me if I am wrong.
I am so happy that it is rate PG-13. I think that if it were only PG, they would not be able to show everything they wanted to show. There is a lot of dark scene, from the book and I was expecting it to be rate PG-13.

Knowing that its pg-13 is awesome because it obviously means it is more mature therefore it fits the book... as they get older the more mature the movie should be!

I agree that it is good thing that the movie is rated pg-13. It will be alot darker and scarier than the first three. In the movie theaters there will be now little kids crying or anything like that. A movie about 14 year olds should be rated pg-13. ( I am very new here, so let me know if I did anything wrong.)

Looks to me like you did great!
Anyway, yeah, PG-13 works for me. I don't think it'll really hurt box office or anything. I think everyone's psyched for this film, I can feel it. Of course, PG-13 doesn't really forbid younger kids from being at the theater. But I think any parent considering taking a kid younger than that should give pause to consider before doing so...

I almost screamed with happineess hen I heard the movie was pg-13. Warner Bros. has finally decided to make the jump, they had to do it sooner or later, otherwise the seventh movie would be ridiculous. It's good to see that Warner Bros. realizes that the audience is maturing, and that we Harry Potter fans are more important than the little kids who like magic. HAHA just kidding.

I was so glad that the film was PG-13. It was darker and appealed to me more because it was more mature and caught the whim of the older fans especially, yet was scary and intense for everybody who likes that kind of movie.
My rating=10!

I really appreciated that film was rated PG-13.Now the film is moving towards mature side so it is quite wright that film is also needed to be rated at high rank.

I don't think that it would have shown them kill buckbeak even if it was PG-13. In GoF, it didn't show Wormtail cut off his hand, even though it was PG-13. And if they don't show that, I doubt that they would show a murder by axe.

I think that it auctally inproved the box office. Probably some older teens didn't go see other ones because they were PG, but chances are that PG-13 might attract their interest.
Overall, I think that they really had to decide that ity was fine to have it PG-13 for the good of the movie. It would have been really lame if it had been PG and they didn't show any of the exciting stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if by the seventh movie, that it went up to 14A as a rating. Well, maybe.

14A? I'll guess that that's UK measurement for film.
But I think that the HP movies are on their way there. GoF did have blood, fear, and death, as well as the acknowledgment of Harry's and the other character's sexual awakening. And what's coming up for OotP, more blood, fear, and death, probably lighten up a bit on sexuality, hinted at or otherwise, but more of the darkness. So the rest of the movies will be PG-13.

I liked that it was PG-13, I mean they show more of the book in the movie, the darker side as well. Would they add the whole seen with Voldemort being reborn, if it was PG, yah probably. But it would not be as good. It also makes parents think, will this really be appropriate for my younger kid, if it's PG-13.
My brothers won't go to some movies, because they are only PG. They wanted to see Napolean Dynamite, but then they said, "I would see it, if it were not PG, but PG-13." My 8 year old brother saw GOF since I have it on DVD, and he was sorta scared by the whole Voldemort coming back scene.
But then again, I like when they go to Hogwarts, I didn't like the sixth book as much because it showed less of Hogwarts, and the darker side. If the movies continue to be PG-13, they will continue to show the darker side. So, I like the PG-13 movies, and I don't. I am confusing myself, I like the higher rating, and I don't. I have 2 different opinions.

I think it was good for PG-13, a little over sometimes but it was great. Personally thought I liked the 1st and 2nd movies more because they emphasize more on hogwarts but 3 and 4 its all about the dark world and I dont like that.
