I had to see it, it had Ryan Gosling and i've been a fan of his since Young Hercules. I think that was probably the most I have ever cried at a movie. But it was because one scene had hit home with me, and the tears just came out. I'm reading the book right now, I really wished I had read the book first, I dunno, I just like doing that. Great Movie, and I can't wait to buy it on DVD.

It wasn't THAT sad. I mean, it ended...peacefully.
But it was sap sap sap. And sap is not for me, so I have no idea why I went to see it.
It was kind of cute though, I'll give it that.

i just saw it last night.
it was the most beautiful thing i've ever seen, and most say that its a chick flick, and it is, but let me tell you there was a man in that theatre who was crying more than most of the women!
and the best, but also worst part, is the end, because noah asks allie if he thinks they're love can create miracles, and then allie replies with "i think our love can do anything" and...well i wont spoil it, but it was so touching.

Have you read it (The Wedding)?"
All I can say that it's awesome! With a bit of twist of surprise at the end...if you're a fan of him, you'll enjoy it as much as I do...
Can't wait to watch "The Notebook"!!

i think Nicolas Spark wrote "a walk to remember" too, didnt he?
my friend said that it was the same guy who did the notebook, but i cant remember whether she meant the director of the movie, or the author of the books.

The book's been along for a long time. . . I never saw it, it looks so mushy. And I can't get the image of Rachel McAdams in Mean Girls out of my head.

Howdy,
Oh my goodness! I watched The Notebook on DVD last night, and I bawled like a baby! I cried for like 5 mins during and after the last scene: it was so sad- "I'll never leave you." and "I'll be seeing you.". I cried once before that (I can't remember when, but it was during the movie somewhere.). That was the saddest movie I have seen since Finding Neverland. (And that is REALLY sad).
I didn't notice that it was Rachel McAdams in Mean Girls until someone reminded me. I think she must be a fairly good actress to play completely different characters (though that is her job, I suppose...). There was one thing I picked up on about her acting...Did anyone else notice that her accent kept changing...? She did her country-twisted voice most of the time, but then she went back to her normal Rachel voice. Maybe I am hallucinating, but I swear that's what I heard.
Anyway, keep this thread posted!
Cheers,
Bella.

I love the notebook. It is the best. The first time I saw it on DVD, I watched it about three times in a row. Oh, it's soo good. I couldn't make any comparison at all of Rachel McAdams in this movie and in mean girls. It just shows that she can play many different characters and have the same effect or even greater on her audience. i love her, and she's canadian too!

This movie had me in hysterics. The Notebook tops my list of tearjerkers/chick flics. I fell head over heals with the plot-line and was engrossed enough to read the novel by Nicolas Sparks.

hmm i prob would of loved this movie, and i prob would have been crying during the whole movie, but when i was watching it for the first time, i was watching it with my mother, who has a hard time with uderstanding american movies, so every couple of minutes i had to stop the movie, explain what was happening, and rewind so she could watch again. and when they were kissing and stuff my mother was flipping out and telling me to not look (im 16), so i was like mom its ok iv seen worse stuff at school, lol that made things worse. but what got me so mad was that at the end of the movie my mother was crying like a baby and i wasnt cause because of her i wasnt able to get into the movie. lol

Everyone told me that I had to see the Notebook because it was so sweet, so sad, a sob story, exc. So, I finally rented it a few weeks ago. I know, really late, but at least now I know what everyone's talking about.
I did enjoy watching it, but I expected something completely mindblowing/sad to happen. The way everyone was raving on about how much they cried...I was preparing myself for a really unhappy ending...which didn't really come. Well, it depends on how you look at it. But, I'm not complaining. It a very well directed movie.
Overall, it was a good story and the actors did great. =)

This film is beautiful! It is definately my favourite film! It is one of the few films that have made me cry, and everytime I watch it it never fails to bring tears to my eyes!
After watch both 'A Walk To Remember' and 'The Notebook' I was intrigued (sp?) and I would like to read some of Nicholas Sparks' books. Does anybody know any ones they would recommend?

I love this movie! I still remember the first time I watched it, it was the day of my best friends birthday party and she got it as a present. We even convinced all the guys to watch it, but they basically laughed when they saw all the girls crying except one guy cried too. Some people I watched it with completely bawled, I have more of a silent cry so no one noticed.
I thought this was an excellent movie!!! We watched it in movie theory this year and I didn't cry I was extremely proud of myself! I really need to buy it someday!

Such a great movie. I liked the part when they went to the movies together, at the beginning. It was quite realistic, the tension and everything.
My mom complained because there was no action, she said it was a bit boring, but I can`t agree with her.
The story is just perfect!

Lauren0891, I LOVE Nicholas Spark's books. I can give a few great ones.
If you have't already, The Notebook was a greta book. But my favorite has to be
Dear John. I really want that to become a movie. Another great one is
The Rescue and
Message in a Bottle. Also, he wrote a memoir with his borther (I think it's called A Week With My Brother, I'm not sure.) But it's a great book!
But back to The Notebook: I loved this movie! I read the book first, and I loved it. Racheal McAdams played an awsome Allie, and Noah was perfect. Everything about that movie was alongside with the book- which I loved. This movie is awsome!

I hated The Notebook. I hate romance stuff anyway, but I heard so many great things about this one so I watched it. I thought it was a waste of time and money.

I had always wanted to see this movie. My friend had it at her place so when I stayed over her, her mum and me watched it. I really enjoyed it. I thought it was cute and it had a simple set-out. I absolutley cried at the end. It was so sad. Def. a tear-jerker
Lol

Oh my goodness, this is one of my all time favourite movies!!

:D
I
love the Notebook!! It's so sad though, seems like I cry harder everytime I see it!
The first time I watched it I didn't really get it until the very end, where I involunterily ruptured into tears! Maybe because I'm sorta slow or something lol but I just didn't understand until the end. The secind time I watched it I cried all the way through!
Though very sad, a definite tearjerker, I really enjoyed it and would highly comend it!

I had never saw the notebook. Needless to say as a girl I was shunned upon by friends for not seeing the movie. The truth is I am not much of a romantic so when I finally sat down to see the movie I had low expectations. I have to say I saw it and even with all the sappy love aspects of the film I truly enjoyed it. It was a great movie!!!!
