Who here plays? I own DDRMAX at home for my ps2 with two pads; I was almost able to do Max 300 on Heavy mode, but then my memory file was corrupted. So, I'm just too lazy to unlock all those songs, including Max 300. What a shame it is. I still play during parties and occasionally show off at movie theaters. Although, the DDR skill is much lower in Oklahoma...

Woo hoo! DDR!! I've only played it once; at the arcade, and I sucked magnificently. My max combo was 2!! But it was still loads of fun.

DDR! *drools*...
Oh, sorry! I started playing DDR about a week ago... my friend got it and two of the super-cool Red Octane mats for his B-day, and I'm doing okay. I was on beginner like, three times and then he made me do lite mode. My fav song is definately
Hysteria... though
In the Navy '99 is pretty fun too...

AHH! DDR!!! Quite possibly the MOST addicting game I have ever played. I only play it at the arcade though, I'm flat-out broke so I cannot the game for my PS2, let alone the pad... I'm pretty bad at it too, but at least I can get the first level cleared.
Maybe I could get level two cleared if my friends would STOP PICKING THE SONGS FOR ME. :?

Ugh, I went to the arcade yesterday to play DDR and these COMPLETE JERKS came up while I was doing a hard one and they started dancing right next me and getting in my face just so they could play.
I wanted to punch them both in their faces, because their distractions worked.

i hate it when i am playing in an acracde (the arcade i go to is in a casino) older people start watching me play. i think it is very distracting and embarresing

I know, it's horrible! I want to get the home version, but the only one that I can find in stores is the Ignition pad, and my friend told me that those wear out after a month. Plus, I still need the actual game, AND I am broke.
I wouldn't mind doing it in front of others if I wasn't so BAD at it.

*dies* I can barely play the song Max on beginner, let alone on lite or standard...
That's why I'm glad my friend has the PS2 version... we were really tired the other night and wanted to play but didnt' want to get the dance pads out... Would you believe it's harder using the controller?

LOL, I've never played DDR, but they way you all talk about it and the way my friend talks about it makes it seem very very fun! Maybe I'll get it on PS2.. is it expensive? I hope not, cuz I'm broke..lol, like most of you!

*sigh* it rocks so much. I personally have only played the arcade version, but that's the best kind because you can act like an idiot while people watch you.
if only I knew how to play...

On PS2, it actually depends what versions you get. There are multiple games you can get, each game has different songs on it. Then you also have to buy the pad for it--I've heard that the Ignition pad is horrible (my friend says she had one and the buttons wore out after a month). Pads can be anywhere from $15 to $800 (I swear I've seen them for $800).
I know a lot about this, considering I don't even have it yet. I'm hoping my dad will get me it as a birthday present in September. Man that would rock my socks off.

i have pump it up at home. it's almost the same as ddr but you plug it into the computer and the arrows on the mat are positioned different. i never tried ddr b4 but i guess that it's better than pump

Ohh I soo wanna get that for PS2...I played it once in an arcade at a bowling alley, but I was rather pregnant at the time, and that's not conducive to leaping around...

But it was much much fun nonetheless...I think the music would drive my boyfriend insane though...>.<

It's very intimidating playing outside because everyone always seems to be better than you. I'm in the middle right now. Not exactly an expert, but not like a confused beginner either. I think I have the ignition pad because they broke already after a month or so! Metal pads are MUCh better but in New York, they're usually around $300!
My friend, a DDR freak wanted those metal pads for Christmas, so I told him to find 300 friends to each give him a gift of $1. Unfortunately, he says he doesn't have that many friends.

Aww...pooie...this thread got dropped. I'll revive it again! lol.
Well, I loooovvveee DDR. I've played since i was around 8 I think. That or around 10 or so lol. But yea. I love the game. I'm at standard right now. I can do some songs at maniac but I'm not that up there yet. Some of my friends are amazing at DDR. It's crazy how fast some people can move! lol. Anyways, yup yup. DDR rocks *nodnod*. I love dancing to Afronova and Afronova Primeval. I think my second would be B4U.

My brother bought the game, and I think it's pretty bad. The songs they have on it are awful, and you can hardly call it dancing what you do on it. It's just stepping as fast as possible, not my idea of a good video game.

this game is totally awesome. its a great exercise. i own many different versions of this game and the music is great. i also love to play this at the local arcades. its kind of embarrassing because people like to crowd around and watch no matter how bad or good i am.

Dude, double mode is the best. Whether you have two people switching off, or one going on both pads, it's sweet.

At the one cast party that I was at in grade nine, we played dance dance revolution. I had never played it before but I am a dancer so I guess I wasn't horrible but then there was a guy who had a slightly smaller role in the play. He is like God at DDR. He was amazing!!

I can't even count the countless hours me and my cousin spent on these games!
Countless sleepovers with countless bottles of Starbucks iced coffee, countless 2-liter soda's, sleeping bags, and a PS2 trying to master songs on Heavy mode.
I can still remember a ton of the songs we memorized the steps to.
Some of our favorites -
Healing Vision
Rhythm and Police
Paranoia or something
and don't forget....
Move Your Feet by Junior Senior!
Can't stop, (can't stop) Can't stop the beat, Won't stop, (won't stop) won't stop the beat...
Yeah!

I have this game but I am very, very, very bad at it. I remember once during school we got to go play for like a free day and basically it was my turn and my my side was pretty much on their knees begging me to get off because I single-handedly blew their score but eventually we caught up again and we won.
