Mudblood_Princess!
I just wondered what you though of him?!
Krieltje
I think Sirius is/was a good godfather for harry. He was/is really devoted to Harry and was always there to help him. Sirius and Harry love eachother, he's like a father to Harry.
juans90
i think sirius was like a great father to harry but he dond't have the time to show how much he loved him and cared for him because they met to few times... why did jo kill him maybe in the seventh book we all get surprised
HP_Fan_Swiss
happy.gifI voted 'He's really good to Harry and loves him lots!'. But my second choice would be Why did JKR have to kill him off sad.gif
GoGinny!!
Well, I would say he acts like a father to harry, except that he doesn't. I was rererererereading OotP, and I see why Rowling says he was a bit touched in the head (though I admit he was very fatherly in GoF)
Auror37
Honestly, I am not sure how a Godfather is supposedd to act. My Godfather is a, well lets just say that I would get banned if I use certain language. But, yeah I think Sirius is a good Gadfatherly figureto Harry. I have an Uncle that is kind of like Sirius; he really is a kid at heart and is really cool to hang out with.
lawks_fuster
sirius is really one of my favorite characters! i think he rocks coz' he got a long hair! biggrin.gif aside from that, sirius is also a cool person. i think he's really fun to be with. and as what i've voted for..... sirius is like a father to harry! he's always there in times of great danger like what had happened in the department of mysteries. and he's always ready to risk everything even his life.... i was also thinking if i'll be voting for the last one " i really don't know why JKR let him die" well, the death of sirius affect me a lot. it makes me sad! that's why i voted for sirius is like harry's father! i don't want to think of sirius's death but instead i wanted to be proud of him as harry's godfather!
Stéphz
i like how he does with the trio and co.

and yeah Harry finally HAD a father figur to look up to smile.gif mad.gif

but i also still dont understand that JKR HAD to kill him mad.gif
i hope it makes the plot of HP7 better! wink.gif
zee_fleur
I think Sirius was just what Harry need around him, He had been through alot, just like Harry and acted like a father firguar to him and it was great. i wish he hadn't died! It's so sad
Padfoot313
Sirius should never have been killed, Harry needed him, he needed someone in his life that he could talk to like a son, someone who understood him, someone who knew his family, who was a part of his family that actually loved him. i still think the grief form his death is what held him back, and if everyone Harry loves keeps dying he may give up and feel that it really isn't worth it anymore. Sirius was the first that Harry knew personally that he loved like a father, like a family memember, an JK axed him. Its like adding insult to injury, it just wasn't fair.
Runa
Well, you can't say he was a bad godfather, because there's no set definition for a good one, because that would just be stereotyping. I say the only thing that matters is that he cared greatly about Harry and his other friends, and would do anything for them, even give his life. That's really all that matters.
Hallia
I don't think Harry could really talk to Sirius like a son to his father, because that's not how Sirius saw Harry, he saw him like James, like a friend.

I voted for 'He's really good to Harry and loves him lots' because it's the closest to what I think, as I don't see Sirius as a lunatic, but I think there should be an option saying that Sirius is disordered but still a great man, as I think he is.
TheatreNerd0048
i said he was really good to Harry and loves him. i don't think he was really a father type because his mind was still only twenty-something years old, and he wasn't quite mature enough to be a father, and wasn't ready for it.

But he loved Harry, he really did, with all his heart.
pigwidigon
I agree and diagree...he did love Harry very much..but so do Ron and Hermione..Sirius' love to me was more fatherly..yes I agree there were times I think he thought he was only 20 again...but overall it was a different kind of love than a friend love...it was a protective love that I think only a father or mother figure has toward their child...and although he may act young he has life experience..I mean he was one of the few who made it out of Azkaban alive...and that kind of preotective love is very much differnt than the love Ron and Hermione have toward Harry..which is what I thought when I read the option
ariana
Sirius is a great frend who tries to be a father ( a sort of ) ... but why did JKR killed him ... it makes no sence . Ok , Sirius help's Harry , but is not the only . The end of OOTP was a bigger shoc for me than HBP
pigwidigon
I think JKR killed him off because in the end Harry has to do this himself...he wont have any people there to 'help' him through it...and lets face it when it came down to it Sirius probably would have died to help harry anyway...so either way I think he had to go...and JKR couldnt kill off everyone in the very last book..plus if one person is killed than another than another it will make Harry want to kil Voldy even more..to avenge their deaths..if he would have stayed alive than Harry may not be as prepared or motivated to kill Voldy because he would know that there is someone there who will shall we say 'come to his rescue? I think this is just the way it had to be...however I think there is a whole thread on this....but thats my two cents
dream_of_a_siren
I really still don't understand why Jo killed off Sirius. I- I mean, he barely had a part and was stuck in Azkaban for twelve years because of something he didn't do! Give him a break, Jo!
*Rachel*
Anyone that still thinks that Sirius is dead is more of a lunatic than Pettigrew. blink.gif ph34r.gif I don't believe it, and I will not accept it. I am still anxious for his come-back. Just wait everyone. He's coming back. There just wasn't a finality to his death. Remember what Luna was talking about? I think she was right. He's coming back. I am sure. I bet there is a way to contact him, and Harry will realize it in the seventh book. I think we can all rest easily, knowing that Sirius isn't really dead. There's nothing to worry about! cool.gif wink.gif

MOD EDIT: I've downsized your font a bit; see kipsy's post below. wink.gif

Whoa...

*Rachel*, there really isn't a reason to use such a huge font. It takes up a lot of uneeded space around here. If you could check out the forum rules in my sig, that'd be great. Also, drop a PM by any mods, prefects, or admins you see around the forums.

Sirius became someone who really came through for Harry, who cared for him and always tried his best on helping and protecting Harry. he was a little outburst on his doings but were always on the best intentions for Harry. I believe James and Lily made a great choice on making him Harry's godfather.... unfortunely just as James and Lily it was cruel they didnt spend that much time together.
linnean
I think he cared very much for Harry. But moreso as a brother or friend. I think Sirius misses James so much that he used Harry to fill James' role. Nonetheless, Sirius would have done anything for Harry and would probably have begun to treat him as his own son.
luckyfish
I think that sirius would have made a very good father if he had a better chance of proving himself. He shows harry alot of affection in the 3rd and 4th books but in the 6th he puts his foot down like a father does and looks out for harrys safety and best interests.

If only.... sad.gif
Velvet
I think that he is good godfather AND friend - which is always a good combination, people has critised him for mistaking Harry for James - However given his actions regarding James/Lillys' death and how tried desperately to help them and protect them, this shows that once he loves someone he is completely devoted to them and would be willing to die for them, (not so good for avid sirius fans like me who refuse to let him be dead, but a darn good trait in a guardian).
Nawrehsuan
I think that he acts like a parent to Harry which is great. Harry really needed someone like him in his life. He knew Harry's parents very well too and Harry can relate to him easily because lies were being told about both of them. He also sticks up for Harry and defends him and Harry really appreciates that.
flagrate
I believe Sirius was a bit too.. umm... damaged to raise Harry properly on his own anyway. I was glad that Mrs Weasley was there to keep an eye in OotP. Harry was still easily influenced.
Harry_Ginny777
I like Sirius Black becasue he loves harry and is really good to harry. me may be mean to Kreacher but that is Sirius black for you. how can't you like him laugh.gif
wizkid_12
i love Sirius Black he was one of my all-time favorite characters! he loved Harry so much as a father figure and a friend and i really wish JKR hadnt killed him(yes i believe he is truly dead)
draco_malfoy<3
For sure I agree that Sirius Black is a good father to Harry!
He acted like one even though he wasn't.
He was a good role model and looked over Harry.
He protected him, sheltered him, and taught him many useful lessons in the world.
That's just like a father to do.
Too badd he was killed off. =( He was a real good character that I liked.
rjtwerp
I like sirius, but i don't really think of him as too much of a god fatherly type...is so great for harry, but i dunno if staying cooped up and getting restless was a good thing for him...it led to his death and only made stuff worse for harry...it also is really sad that he died...i still don't get why rowling killed him off! it will probably be something that is mentioned in the last book... biggrin.gif
DoubleD
I don't think Sirius acts like Harry's father, but he is a really good Godfather. Not many godfathers would eat rats for their 'children' and he gives good advices to Harry, he helped him during the Triwizard tournament... Therer are lots of good things he did to Harry
shorty10
ofcourse he is a good godfather!!!and i also don't know why JKR killed him!!!btw he is right about kreacher!!!
ashlee_rae
He's really good to Harry and loves him lots!
He does really love HArry is like his world and was he world. He is like the cool parent by how he almost lets you do anything you want to but he is still worried bout harry and i would just love him to be my godfather that would be so cool.
Lord Jak
Sirius Black was one of the best characters in Harry Potter! He was the perfect friend to James and Remus as a student in Hogwarts and as a grown man, he was loyal enough to breakout of Azkaban (please excuse spelling) to help Harry even though Harry didn't know or trust him, he was the best pick for godfather to Harry as well as Best Man for James and Lily's wedding, he even risked his life for Harry and his friends!!!
Loopy_Luna
Sirius has always tried to protect Harry since Harry found out he was his Godfather.

He does love Harry

But due to be stuck in Grimmauld Place he is trying to live through Harry and gets him to do things that he would like to do.

Probably not what a father would do but you can understand why he has done it
taintedlove-xx
I think that Sirius acted like a father to Harry ,which was great, until , another emtional blow happened and JKR killed him off =/ sigh. why couldnt harry have a happy life for once eh ?
stag
I like Sirius. I can't believe he died, but then again, as JKR says, she needed to make a sacrifice. Him being mean to Kreacher, though? He totally deserves it. I can't believe Sirius couldn't just perform a strong memory charm on Kreacher to make him forgot the stuff he eavesdropped and kick him out! Kreacher would totally get on my nerves after how he talked about everyone under his nose.

I'm STiLL not sure why J.K killed Sirius. sad.gif

I actually really liked him because i felt he was the only real family harry ever had (because i mean who counts the dursleys). He really did love harry and was a kind of father figure to him.

You know im really not liking J.K very much... She tends to kill ALL the people i like.

*She better not kill malfoy, because i will go into CARDiAC ARREST!
silver prongs
Sirius is one of my favorite characters and I really liked him. I can understand in a strange way why he was killed. I can't explain it though. I'm sad that he died but I think that he is so cool it doesn't even matter.sorta.. a litte... unsure.gif
tomflover94
harry is so lucky or atleast was so lucky i would so want sirius to be my godfather i mean he is fun troublesome and you really couldn't get into trouble with him.
Snuffles4Eva
I love Sirius Black! He loves Harry alot! I think thats what makes them so clsoe. He also knows alot about Harry's father and mother so he can tell him things. He isn't your typical father. Considering that your typical father is somebody who loves you, goes to work, comes home and wishes you good night. He loves Harry, but he also is an unregistered animagi, was convicted for a murder (that he didn't do but still), got himself locked up in Azkaban, escaped dementors, ran away on a stolen hippogriff, and hid away in a secret house with an elf with an attitude. With all that he still has time for Harry and helps him and gives him advice. He's also sort of liek Harry's friend because he's a little on the immatrue side, but he knows when to tell Harry to act like an adult becuase he treats Harry like one. He's a great father figure for Harry and I love him.
*Sparkle*
I loved Sirius, and thought that him being Harry's godfather (and being nice) was a really good twist in book 3. I think that he was a really good person to Harry and hated it when he died sad.gif But i suppose that everything JKR decides to write in her books are done for a reason!!
crazy4jamesphelps@hotmail.com

I definitely think Sirius is a brilliant godfather. and like the last poll oppion said, why did J.K.Rowling kill him off? he was a great character.
Hermione__<3
I think he's a really good model to look up to. I mean he had to put up with being worngly onvicted and everything. He is very good to Harry and really protective. He is mean to Kreacher but come on! Kreacher is horrible anyway! dry.gif I can't really compare him to James because we never James but to me he's a really good godfather too Harry.

biggrin.gif
PurpleForge
He is amazing to harry. He risks so much for him. He loves him immensely!! I love him so much and I do understand why he had to die. I just don't agree or like that he did!!!! mad.gif
Weasley_Wench
I love Sirius as much as anyone else here and I hate the fact that he died. I'd give an arm or a leg to have him back!!
wait_siriusly411
sirius is really good to harry, and loves him a whole lot...which is exactly what harry needs....and he acts like a father to harry, which is great, too.....and i have a theory as to why JKR killed him off....but i think he should be resurrected.....i mean, no one knows if he actually died or not...we can still have hope.....
HermioneClone
I think Sirius was a great guy and godfather. He didn't fit the image of the "ideal" godfather but he cared for Harry so much he would do anything for him and he always watched out for him.
I really loved his character and miss him but I understand why he's gone.
crazy4Oliver&JamesPhelps

Sirius Black is definitely a great godfatherly figure to Harry,i mean he really cares for him and vis versa. i love the character of Sirius, he one of my favourite characters. i argee with the poll; why did JK Rowling have to kill him off. i cry my eyes out when i read that part in the book.
crazy4u
I think Sirius is a great type of guy.He loves/d Harry very much and they had an amazing relationship and connection. He's not like a father to him,in my opinion. He's more like a godfather or maybe bigger, like an uncle. But I would also choose the last one.Why did she want him to be murdered? It was so unfair! After all those years in Azkaban...being innocent and all...
workaholic_1231
I think its great how Sirius acts like such a fatherly figure to Harry. That's exactly the kind of figure that Harry needs in such hard times. Plus aside from that, he's still a boy who needs to be molded by example, and Sirius can fulfill those shoes.
