i have heard some rumours that they may not be having luna in the ootp film if they dont then ill have to cry, it seems to me that thee are agreat number of people on here who want to be luna, i am one of them. do you think there only going to be auditioning girls from agencies or do you reckon they will hold open auditions???

I am sure the will have Luna in OOTP, considering she is an important character.

Also, I think they will hold open auditions for the role. If I am not mistaking, and don't quote me on this because I am not sure, but I think they held open auditions for Cho Chang. So, as long as you meet the requirements and can act, then I am sure you could audition.

I would love to audition for a role, but I can't since I am not British.

luna has to be in the ootp if she isnt then sumthings definetely wrong because she goes to the department of mysteries if shes not in the movie complain derectly to the director

How can they not have Luna? she's an important charater! They have to have her. Because remember in the book, Hermione gets both Luna, Rita Skeeter..and Harry into The Three Broomsticks (i think) then Harry explains to Rita Skeeter EVERYTHING that happened the night Voldemort rose. Then LUNA'S dad publishes the interview in the Quibbler. I think it'd be silly if they didnt have her.

i would so cry if they cut luna from the movie! cos she is such a cool chracter! over this past minth or so ootp has become all i can think about, its like bein in love for the first time, i know that sounds twee but i really really REALLY want to play luna i would sell everything i own to be her! im getting all agitated just thinking about it i just want to scream! i know that they havent started auditions for ootp yet but im still sending in 2 letters a week untill i get a reply. there due to started filming in spring so do you rekon theyll do the auditions round christmas time or earlier/later???

They cant possibly cut Luna from the movie . Can they? They cant! She is such a important character.

To be honest, as the film is nowhere near pre-production, let alone storyboarding and planning, no-one really knows what will and won't make the cut.

I think that they couldn't leave Luna out as she is a majour part of the storyline, as well as playing an extremely significant role in select scenes. For example the whole Harry AND Luna can see the thestrals, and other such scenes.

And to be honest, I would Love to see what a copy of the quibler would look like!!

ive just been on another sight and i was talking about luna being in the movie, and this girl said that luna is a way bigger part then cho and thry made a massive thing about having cho in the movie! i hadnt thought of that! i know its the hole harrys first kiss thing, but throughout the 5 book luna is one of the only ones harry relates to (the thestrals and such) and she also helps out alot at the end! it is becoming an obsession of mine, the has to be a luna in the movie and i soooo hope its going to be me although the chances are very slim! o well i will keep tryin to get an audition until i get a reply and if its the wrong one then il carry on trying hehe

She is Jo's favourite character, she has an important role in OotP, HBP. She is fighting with Harry in the MoM. I dont see any reason why they wouldnt include her...

ive just been on dissendium.com and a girl said she was gettin and audition for luna sometime in january! she doesnt yet know the precise date because the dates arent meant to go public. but atleast we know that there not cutting luna now.

i so want to be there! i was watching the first movie last night and i was like 'oooh i so want to be there' . the only way i can see my life getting any better from here is if i get an audition for luna or any other part! it feels like ive hit a dead and and just cant turn around. i can actually see myself walking into the phone box with dan rupert emma and eerrm the kid that plays neville (slight memory laps ) oh there wont be much room... oo squeezed into a phone box with dan and rupert *druel* haha

Luna is just the best character in the OOTP and she pushes all the bad things that happened in GOF with her quirky nature. I've sent in a casting letter to try for Luna (*gulp*) but I reckon that I'll never get anything because from what I've heard, the producers have already seen like two thousand girls and plus, I'm too old!

I'd like the girl who played Wendy in Peter Pan to be Luna!

they must ahve Luna in the film, i mean its not asthough shes a background charecter in the next few books, and if they want to bring Miranda Richardson back for Ootp then they need the Quibbler article, and for that they need Luna, i don't see how they can leave her out.

Luna is an important character! However...i really hate this character! It's really nothing personal...but she's.....just....weird

There is no way that they can just cut Luna out just like that! She's too important! Besides girls are already auditioning for the role.

We all know they will search forever and finally find a perfect Luna so theres nothing to worry about. But we just have to hope that this person is willing to stay for two or three movies 5,6,7 if they continue.

ok ive sent about 20 letters to leavesden do you think thats to much? the cd's have been round school near leavesden and this week there doing a workshop for the girls there interested in, after that there oging to start replying to letters and they will call girls in for a very short interveiw and take a couple of pictures, then they will do a workshop with them and after that the list of names will get shorter through a series of screen tests and auditions, luna will probably not be cast untill mid january.

why on world would they ever take luna away and by today the casting of luna is about to end making the luna gossip as a false thing cause they are actually having luna in

As Warner Bros. has officially announced the casting of Luna Lovegood, it is time for us to redirect our thoughts here and for this thread to close. Congratulations to Evanna Lynch and let us hope she portrays Luna's character well in the Order of the Phoenix adaptation.
