There is talk that Dan and some of the other cast, including Emma, Rupert, and Tom, may not continue to do the rest of the films because producers feel they may be too old. This angers me, lol, did they expect the 15 yrd Harry to still look like he's 12? It even states in the 1st chapter of POA, that Harry had grown. Even when some of the older characters like Oliver Wood and Tom Riddle were played by 20yrds, they still expect the Dan to be the same age as Harry?

I completely agree with you. I mean, Sean Biggerstaff who played Oliver Wood, was 18 when he played a 15 year old, and the guy who played Tom Riddle was 21 playing a 16 year old, and besides it's not like Dan is gonna get much taller. lol. He could still do all the movies, and so could all the other actors. Also, in the 3rd movie Tom Felton(bless his hottness) was 16 playing a 13 year old. So, I don't see the big deal with the age thing either.

i agree with the two of you and i think that i gets rid of the feel and lets go of like readding a book where you have the same characteres every book that you move on to and if you lose the feel of book reading in the movies then you might lose intrest and get cheesed off like i will be if the change characters.

well, I'd still go see the movies even if they changed actors, but I definitly wouldn't be happy about it. As my friend Bella knows, I like to complain about the movies before/during/after I see them. There are so many mistakes and things they took out, but I still love them all and am happy with them. Even if the actors don't come back I will still go see the movies like 4 times in theatre just to show my support.

That's exactly what I'm wondering too! In a lot of movies and tv shows, teenagers are played by actors who aren't teens (in their 20's). So why can't the cast of HP do the same??

A lot of people want Dan, Rupert and Emma should be Harry, Ron and Hermione for all 7 movies. If they had to, they would fight to keep them in the movies. But here's a question: What about Dan, Rupert and Emma? What about what THEY want? Maybe they don't want to be Harry, Ron and Hermione for all 7 movies. Maybe they do. It's not the public's decision to decide if they should do all 7 movies. It's THEIR decision. Not ours. Personally, I want them to do all 7 movies. It wouldn't be the same without them. The magic that is in Harry Potter will be lost forever if they're replaced. But no matter what decision they make, I'll support them 100%. If you hate me for this, I understand that. But you shouldn't have to hate me for this. Let Dan, Rpert and Emma decide their future in the Harry Potter movies. Not the fans or the media.

they should keep the same actors. if they dont a lot of people will be really angry (me). people love to see these actors playing the characters from harry potter.

i did too. it is on the new interview they just did. dan said that if he cant do other hp movies, he will have to get used to seeing someone else doing it.

Well, I just want the main 4 for sure. Who cares how old they get. An example would be that Tom Felton is going to be 19 when they shoot the 5th movie. Thats not to bad right? A 19yrd playing a 15 yrd, there have been older actors who have played younger characters.

i like how they look a little older it makes the movie look more mature. That show sabrina the teenage witch had a 16 year old acted out by a 25 year old. Come on and that is a whole T.V. series. They can definetly do all 7 movies.

They look exactly their age right now! The characters are also growing up! Ruperts older, Rons taller. Emma is the same, Hermione is mature so you wouldn't notice. Dan has just had a period of rapid growth - during filming of CoS so he probably will be growing much slower or less now - and he is still a little small and has a delicate frame, Harry is short.

No matter what they will always be Harry, Ron and Hermione!

The only thing I disagree with is the eyecolour but they tried contact lenses and they irritated dan's eyes. They irritated my eyes! There is nothing they can do about it.

Well, if Tom, Emma, Dan, and Rupert don't play in the next movies, I'd be very disappointed. It would take all the magic away for me. And I think all of them want to play in the next movies, cause I read that they wouldn't like it to have to give away their parts. And I really think that the age doesn't matter. So I really hope they'll play in all the 7 movies. I f they don't, I will go ans watch the movies, but I certainly won't like it.

Yes if they do not appeard that could be really dissapointing, ´cause I read the 3, 4, 5th book, after I saw the first two films, so when I was reading, off course I imagine all the same actors, in all the situationns the book present and the new ones were off course created by my imagination, but Dan, emma and rupert, I imagine them in the yule ball, the tasks, in Grimauld Place, etc.
So The age doesn´t matter, they should be in the next movies, no matter that!!

It would really be horrible if one of the actors from the trio drop out because I really think they have the onscreen chemistry. They look so good together, that when I read the books, I see their images. lol.

They only signed till the 4th one, that's the big problem for us fans...I couldn't imagine the movies without those four! I really hope they'lle stay...

I think that people who said that it's Dan, Rupert's and Emma's desion to keep doing the movies, but I think that the point we're trying to get across is the fact that they shouldn't be replaced becuase of there age. The three of them are really coming along as actors, getting more and more taleneted. And the 5th movie would be, jugdeing by the book, a very emotionally changlleing task. How could they exect someone people to just step in and do a better job then the three of them could? I think that they'll stay Dan once said "I'm so lucky, how many kids would pay thousands to do what I'm doing now". It's true, they are lucky, it's like winning the lotto 7 times. And they get to play 3 of the most loved childern in litear. I have a link to a petition saying you want them to stay on as Ron, Hermione and Harry.

I agree. We aren't making their decisions we are just saying that they have our support to do all the movies and that they should feel welcome to choose what they want to do. Its their life. We are saying that it'd be awesome to have them for all seven movies.

i don't think WB will replace dan, emma, and rupert but they didn't sign the contract for all 4 because they are not 100% sure... but they're only like 90% sure... most people won't care if they're a few years older than the people they are playing... i mean it's not the age but the talent we care! if they change them then it would be like watching a whole different series... dan, emma, and rupert should choose by themselves without our help but who would pass down the offer for being able to play harry, hermione, and ron... there are billions of people who would pay to play the role... almost everyone is pleased by WB's casting for the trio and if they do change the actors many fans will be dissapointed and they won't watch the movies... i don't think WB would want to lose money

Well the WB is probaly worried about losing money a differnt way. As the actors get older, they will demand more money, and they won't want to play it. My old history teacher taught me to look for the money in situitions, once you do, a lot of questions will be answered, sad but true.

Yes but there are laws in place to pay actors more as they get older, once you're a legal adult, you have to be paid more than when you were a minor.

i think WB can afford to pay the actors a few million more per film. Just look at how much each film is making. And that amount will surely only rise. We've all got to hope that the kids haven't got bored of the work/fancy a change of life. All teenagers rebel at some point, at least to some degree.

I know what you mean. I think they could do it. I mean, Emma is 14 right now, so she's fine. And yeah, you can make them look younger if you need to. There's no rush, I think it would be find. I personally think that they should try it!!

i think the actors should be in all 7 films because im so used to seeing these actors/actresses playing these roles i'd hate to see them being replaced and I all of them already they all are very good at acting even if they might be to old

it'd be kinda scary though... to see a 20 yr old playing a 17 year old.. especially if it's dan, rupert, and emma... but ... i dunno.. i think they should stick with the same actors.. yeahh...hmm...

lol, just watch any (mainly america) soap or kids show. The actors playing college students are always 20 - 22 (or at least alot older than their character's age). The only thing that changes when you go from 18 - 21 is the amount of spots on your face decreases. And it seems that the trio aren't suffering from acne anyways.

What would be funny is seeing Dan with facial hair, rofl. That will make me laugh. Or him having some rocker's sideburns. Anyways, sorry for digressing.

I can't double post, but I wanted to make another point on the continuation of the trio’s career in the Potter films.

The way in which Warner Brothers are pushing through these films as fast as the genre allows them to (as in the special effect process). The fact that the kids will be in less and less education from now on (and can so work longer hours filming). The fact that everyone is making loads of money from the franchise. And now that the Chancellor of the Exchequer has just announced a tax break to UK film production. It seems more and more likely that all the films will be made and that the current cast will remain the same.

I can’t imagine Dan or Rupert wanting to quit film making, and Emma seems to enjoy the socialising aspect of the film industry now too.

Looks like Mr Newell (& Cuarón) wants to keep the current trio for further films. If they had made it into two films, then the trio would have been verging on the much too old category in all later films.

i really would rather see dan, emma, and rupert playing younger characters even if they looked a bit too old than see totally new actors who most likely wouldnt be as comfortable and good with the roles that have been so wonderfully done already

I agree. Who cares if they are a little too old? At the end of the day everyone watches it to see the story told very well by the original actors. It would seem silly to suddenly change cast, people would just get confused.. Films mean more than a story to some people.. you wouldn't like it if you met your friend the next morning and they were 2 years younger! It's like replacing maturing cheese with newer produce. Why replace something that is blooming beutifully, when it's the age and growth that makes it complete? ....

Does a wage increase count when you're earning millions of pounds? I mean is it that important that you are no longer a minor because they clearly aren't earning a minor's wages.
I have just checked out the IMDB and the cast still aren't credited for the 5th film, fingers crossed they'll do it though! I believe they should because they are brilliant actors and it would just be so surreal and disappointing to watch others do their jobs.

I think they should because Harry Potter movies would never be same without the actors from the first film. I agree that they are the one who will decide for their future but the words of fans sometimes change their views. But I must agree that they're old for the character.

I think, that if the producers know what's good for them, they will keep all of the original cast. It doesn't really matter that they are getting older. Fans are used to going to the HP films and seeing them there, it would be to weird to see others in there place.
