I wonder how they eventually got together. I mean, Lily was always disgusted with James. I wonder how he won her over? I know if it were me, I couldn't resist that hair and those eyes. Wait, I think I'm talking about Harry. Anyway.. I hope we figure that out in the next book!

It said in the book that James laid off Snape and stopped bothering her. Then they went out in their seventh year.

They do become Head Boy and Head Girl, don't they? I'd think they'd have to start getting along at one point. Lily probobly started to realize that there's more to James than the idiot he is around his friends... And he is an idiot around them, don't try to deny it .

I love the James/Lily relationship. I especially loved it Snapes worst memory when he called her Evans and when Snape calls her a mudblood + she goes to James 'Your just as bad' and he is shocked and says 'What!? I would NEVER call you..' So sweet!

i agree w/ ya'll. i want more james/lily info in the future books! When i read books 1-4 i was like "okay so Harry's parents are dead, big deal" But in the 5th books they showed them at harry's age, and i'm like "man, this is interesting. How'd they end up madly in love?" JKR said she wasnt gonna do a prequel (i wish she would) but she said she'd do plenty of background info. Let's just cross our fingers for more of James/Lily's story. Notice how each of the HP bks has more and more of the Maruaders time at hogwarts.

I always assumed that they got engaged a month or two after Hpgwarts and then got married a year later. *shrugs* That's just me.

I was sifting through the HP lexicon, and it said there that Lily and James married straight after 7th year ended.

So they would have been 17!? How long after did they have Harry!? lol

Since they died when they were 21, and Harry wasn't even a year-old when the terrible incident happened (or was he...?) I'm guessing they decided that they wanted a bundle of joy when they were around 20.

I don't think Lily ever disliked James I believe that she liked him but disliked his arrogance and then when James matured a bit she realised how sweet or sensitive he could be.

Well, I know they were born on 1960, and Harry was born on 1980, so they were 20yrs old when they had him. I say they got married right out of Hogwarts, or were just ready for a family that early into their marriage.

Hmm, I think from what I read from the Edinberg interview that she wouldn't write much about the Maruaders and Lily because there's really nothing more to it (umm from her words). She said that in the next book we'd learn more about Lily and why her wand was good for charms, that's suppose to be imporant. But I'm looking fowarsd to learning more about her, we've heard quite a bit about James, but almost nothing about Lily.

Anything with the Marauder era would be cool to learn about. I want to know more about Sirius and Lupin actually.

I love the L/J ship, I just wish they didn't die, because they would've been around for Harry. I think that James and Lily got together somewhere in the middle of 7th year. I read lots of fanfics that center around them in the middle of 7th year. Go L/J!

I have always wondered how Lily eventally fell for James. I know that during 6th and 7th year James matured a lot, but how did Lily see that? There are a lot of good fan fics describing how they miht have come together, but I dunno..

In 7th year, Lily and James were put as Head Girl and Boy, so maybe she noticed him while having to work with him?

I think that there's highly possible that when Lily found out about James who saved his enemy-Snape's life, she fell in love with Potter and saw him in a new light. It could be another reason for Snape to hate James.

i think that james matured...but that actually Lily, saw before the 7th book who he really was, cause otherwise she wouldn't have married like, right after the end of 7th year...i dunno...

They are the cutest couple.... They definantly died to young but they died heroicly..I love how Harry looks just like his dad except for his eyes,(vibrant green) like his mothers..that is so cute because it seems like his parents live on in him in spirit as well as looks. I am kind of confused about how they got together too. But I think in the seventh book we will learn more about this relationship and how they got married. I read a really good fanfic about their wedding that you see in Dumbldore's pensive through his P.O.V. I think its called Into The Pensive its on this site you all should check it out.

I agree with all of you! I really like the James/Lily ship. I hope that Rowling puts more about it in the 7th book, I would also like to know more about the mauderers backround. I am glad that lily decided to go out with james

i think lily fell for him, because james stopped jinxing people and she had time to see the real james... i think it took her a very long time to work out her feelings towards him...

they were so nice together and both smart! Lily sort of reminds me of Hermione, always trying to stop Harry from jinxing Draco and Lily tried stopping James jinxing Snape! So sweet

These two are my absolute favorite couple in the WHOLE Book!! It's so fun to read about James trying to win over Lily, and how much she despised him till their 7th year. I hope J.K. writes more about them.

yea, i love james/lily together too... it is just like harry/ginny.... i mean, since harry looks like james and ginny looks a bit like lily.... well anyway, they just belong together!

yeah James and Lily potter were the best ship ever they are a older Harry and Ginny because they look alike Ginny = Lily and Harry = James. but i think james and lily were perfect for each other they had some fights in school but they fell in love. and well i love them together.

Yeah, I want the details too, but I think that if we don't get them in the 7th book, things will be explained in that encyclopidia she's talking about writing. And I think that both Ginny and Harry and Hermione and Ron are like James and Lily in differnt ways.

aww. Lily and James are just so cute. They sort of remind me of Ron and Hermione for some reason... I think its because they were always fighting but ended up loving each other? Well, James and Lily are perfect.
