This is another of our new Venom threads. These threads have VERY STRICT rules, which are below.

This is a privilege that we have decided to try on the forums to give people a chance to express their feelings against particular ships because there is currently no place to do so. This privilege WILL be revoked if people abuse it - this is an idea we are trying purely on a trial basis so if it gets pulled, you will only have yourselves to blame.

The mods respectfully request that you behave with maturity, decorum and respect for other fans in here and strongly recommend that you familiarise yourself with the VTM rules which are different to those you may have come across in other forums. Ignorance of the rules is NOT a defence.

These are NOT debate threads - they are purely for NON-SUPPORTERS of ships.

1. Members who support the ships being discussed here are strongly advised to stay away. You WILL see things that will upset, annoy and anger you. The purpose of these threads is for people to have a place to freely vent with like-minded people, but NOT to argue. Supporters have their own threads, people who hate certain ships need to have a place to vent to that is free from retaliatory/argumentative posts or flames (nasty, personal remarks)

2. These are NOT debate threads - there is no case to answer. The mods DO NOT want to see defensive posts in these threads.

3. All Veritaserum rules still apply - no cursing, abuse, nastiness or personal attacks will be tolerated here. You may feel free to criticise the ship as much as you like because they are fictional and you're not hurting anyone, but DO NOT attack REAL people, DO NOT attack Jo Rowling personally who worked very hard to create this series that we all love (although you may express dissatisfaction, so long as you do it POLITELY) and DO NOT attack the opinions, intelligence or make other personal remarks about the fans who support these ships/characters. That behaviour WILL NOT be tolerated. Such posts will be met with official warnings and a restriction of your posting privileges.

4. Please do not argue against one ship on the basis that another is more likely. These threads are ONLY for discussing the reasons why you don't like THIS PARTICULAR SHIP - the fact that you prefer another is NOT a valid argument.

OK. It won't be a pure venom in this case, though... I can't really say if I care about this relationship or not.

Bill always seemed cool to me He was this kind of a rebellious guy... and I can't see any man who can resist Fleur if she cares for the man.

I don't like Fleur... maybe it's not I don't like her exacly, but show me a girl who TRULY likes her beautiful friend. Deep inside her heart she'd feel jealousy.

I understand why Molly couldn't stand Phlegm Fleur is "full of herself", it may be iritating. I think we don't know Fleur well yet and she can be surprising. I just couldn't stand the scene in which Fleur was feeding her beloved Billy as if he didn't learn the difficult technique of taking a spoon into his mouth

I HATE this relationship with a passion. Since Book Four when Bill was introduced I really liked him (Charlie too equally, but he's done no evil here). I just saw him as being this awesome, laid back guy who had a good head on his shoulders, was obviously pretty ok-looking and knew what he wanted in life and where he was going.

The next thing he hooks up with Fleur Now, first of all, this seemed almost the cliche thing to me of two good-looking people getting together. JKR broke the rules though because she made Bill smart and Fleur a champion.

Now, when Fleur was introduced, I thought what a stuck up snob!!! However as the book went on, I began to think that maybe there is more too her and she doesn't have to just be a pretty face. The fact that she was the Beuxbatons champion really doesn't say a lot when you think about it- just that she was the most suitable of the school. However if everyone else in the school was equally as flakey as she is then that doesn't really mean a thing.

I expected Bill to think she was cute and vice versa. However I also expected that she'd show a little bit more of a non-flake personality. Bill is too smart for the Fleur that we've been shown. She is SOOOOO stuck up and full of herself! I can't believe that JKR would stoop to put such a wonderful guy with a girl who comments on how goodlooking she is in just about every sentence she makes in the book.

She criticised Bill's family's habits and interests, talks pretty much just to hear herself speak and is generally a vain and inconsiderate person.

The only thing in this relationship that was remotely positive was that Fleru was happy to 'keep Bill' after he was bitten. And even that was spoiled with the think-how-good-looking-I-am-in-comparison talk and the "I'm good looking enough for the both of us".

What a load of rubbish.

I have to say the whole Bill/Fleur ship disgusted me for a very long time. Just remember, back in Goblet of Fire when Ron was trying to ask Fleur out to the Yule Ball!? And now his brother, who is 10 years older than him, is engaged to be married to her!? If I had a brother 10 years older than me who got engaged to my crush, I would be a little....skeeved to say the least ...

And then, whenever Ron is around Fleur he feels awkward because he still has feelings for her. And he tries to get kisses from her ....now THAT is very strange. I think JK Rowling should have thought about the emotional impact on Ron, being as his long-time crush is marrying his older brother.....eeuurgh.

It is not until Bill got bitten by Greyback that I actually liked Fleur's character in the first place. Yeah, she loves Bill no matter what he looks like because she is "pretty enough for the two of them, thank you." Somebody thinks very highly of herself *points to Fleur* .....

I definately think that they are not a good couple for the following reasons:

1.He is a "cool" sort of person and Fluer is a girly girl
2.he doesnt seem right for her
3.He works with goblins (i think) and i dont think Fluer is fond of those sort of creatures eh?

See now that's actually something that made me dislike her even more- for the same resons though! The whole 'I'm pretty enough for both of us' thing was a little stupid- how can someone as seemingly smart as Bill go for someone so superficial and silly? The scene where she was worried about Gabrielle was about the only time I've ever liked her

I'd never thought of looking at it from the point of 'Ron's 10 year older brother is marrying his crush' though- that's really kinda disturbing to think about. I think I would have rather Fleur ended up with Ron than Bill, but it also makes me wonder what happened with her after Making out with Roger Davies at the Yule Ball. She has one look at Bill and sets her sights on him instead? Yeh right.

Personally I was suprised that so many people were in favour of the relationship. I didn't realise that Fleur was liked so well in general by the readers, but I've seen a lot of popularity for her. I might be naive, but the whole marriage thing also really caught me off guard.

I think Bill is good enough, but Fleur is too boasty. And maybe she's 'put that old charm' on Bill! ANyway, I think Bill is too good for Fleur, she thinks too highly of herself.

To be honest with you, I don't particularly care about Bill/Fleur cos they aren't exactly a main part of the book. However I do still have an opinion on this relationship as follows:

Out of the Weasley family I must say Bill along with Ginny aren't exactly in my favour. Bill is fine, except his whole personality seemingly is cliched. But that's getting off the point, so:

Fleur is a supeficial character, and I don't like the idea of her being part of the Weasley family. Bill's personality isn't portrayed much, but they don't seem to suit eachother.

Yeah, so basically that's my opinion on the whole thing, but mainly I am indifferent.

As much as Fleur loves Bill....the overriding issue is that she says 'I am beautiful enough for both of us'.

That comment clinched it. I never liked Fleur and never will. I never really liked Bill either, he seems a little cliched as rivendell mentions. I much prefer Charlie, he seems more 'cool' than Bill or Fleur can ever hope to me.

Bill and Fleur both seem quite arrogant so yeah i guess they would be good together. But as I particularly dislike Fleur, I dislike this ship and do not feel it has a place in the books. It seems superficial to say the least.

Well I'm sure when they do get married, they'll have mirrors fitted on the walls of the house so they can both fully see they're 'cool' and 'beautiful' looks, apart from Bill's face is messed up now, but whatever you get my gist.

Ok, Fleur is beautiful and Bill is cool and handsome, everyone agrees.But I think its the beauty inside that counts not the outside and I think this couple came together just because Fleur is stunning and Bill is in love with her beauty not her personality.So this couple is one of those I disapprove of because Bill needs a girl just like him, a girl who is controled and acts her age.

I guess this post is going to be considered pseudo-venom..Personally I don't really care if Bill and Fleur are together or not..I was actually a little surprised that a wedding between them became such a big thing in HBP...and I'll be interested to see how much of it ends up in Book 7
I would have rather seen more emphasis put on Remus and Tonks than Bill and Fleur..Only because we really don't know all that much about Bill and Fleur, and certainly we don't know much about their relationship except that they worked together at Gringotts and fell in love...I'm sorry..but who cares? The nice thing about following a fictional relationship is to know and love the characters to much that you actually care whether they end up together or not...

why them? they are so a bad couple ! i mean look at her family and then at his they ahev totaly differant person alities! she's a dumb blonde and he's a good quidditch play and smart! i don't think they really love each other i mean she is a veela!

I think Bill could do a lot better than Fleur Delacour!!! She just loves herself and no one else i mean in HBP she says to the Weasleys, Harry and Hermione when Bill was bitten by the werewolf "I have enough looks for the both of us" how self-loving as that!!! URGHHH *goes mad* he could have picked a girl well better than her!!!!

I have trouble believing that there aren't more people who don't like this relationship sometimes. I mean, Fleur is just a horrible character. There is really nothing that I like about her and Bill seemed like a pretty ok guy from the little that we saw of him in Book 4, so WHY would he end up with Fleur???

I have to say that this is one of the many ships that I am dreading with the upcoming Book 7. I'm sure that they are going to get married and does it make me a really awful person if I hope that it's a disaster?

Bill and Fleur are so cringy and stupid to read about. I cant STAND that girl... she's so annoying. I really hate it when people really know they're stunning, if you know what i mean. I also think he is quite shallow... what does she have apart from looks... she is really stuck up.

Woohoo! Someone else who hates this relationship as much as I do

I've been rereading through the books (again) and I'm currently reading GOF, which has reminded me about something that I hated about this relationship. In this book, Fleur is heavily kissing with Roger Davis. She then eyes off Bill when he comes and visits for the last task.

This is incredibly fickle. It's all a matter of looks and superficiality and she just goes from one to another.

I'll openly state that I don't like this ship because I don't like Fleur... however I acknowledge that from both sides of things, Bill could be seen to be equally fickle. I just don't believe that we were told any basis of where this ship came from, other than a physical attraction. And if Bill was as smart and clever as he is written to be, then that wouldn't have lasted as long as it did.
