Oh my God, i have not been on this site in soooo long... but now that i'm here... here come sleepless nights.
Anyway, i absolutely love this topic. I think about the names of my children-to-be very often, because i think an individual's name is such an important aspect of their life. And if you're stuck with some horrible, made-up-sounding name, you're screwed for life.
And has anyone had this happen to them, because i know i for sure have - that someone just completely spoils a name for you, because you meet this particual person with this particular name, and you end up really disliking the person and then hating the name? I've had it happen a 1000 times.
Well, i dont know why, but only boy names seem to come to me as 'definites', where as for girl names i really would have to sit down and think about it for a while. so....
1) James, my absolute favourite name (and no its not because of James Potter)
2) Christian
.... and that's all really. I'm really picky about names.
There are a number of other names that i like too though, but the problem is, you know when you like a name (like i like Christian, or Sebastian), but you know that they'll never be called that, but are rather going to be Chris and Seb. It's like 'look... if i wanted to name my kid Chris, i would've. But i didnt'. Haha, yes, i would get very defensive. So, i've decided the only way to go about this little problem is to make sure the names my kids get are nickname-free. Good luck to me.

In school we had to do a Future-Self Portrait for ourselves in twenty years and we had to figure out how many kids we'll have and what their names will be. I want to have three kids. Two girls and one boy. I just picked three of my favourite names .. I have lots. I think about forty written down in a journal somewhere in my room to save for years from now.

Please note: I've had these names picked out since I was about 10 so none of them have to do with Harry Potter. Then I just liked them, now I like them for their actual meaning or because they have to do with Harry Potter or other things.

...my US History teacher a few years ago told our class that his friend's son's name was Jug. I don't know about you guys, but that made me crack up...no offense if thats your name! What about Jug II?

I already have kids my sons name is Alec Daniel and My daughter's name is Kiera Joanna.

If I had any more kids for a boy, I would call him Gabriel, Dante or Malachite (pronounced MA LA KI) or Emrys.

My children are all named after someone. My son is named Samuel (Sam) after my dad who died the year before he was born. My middle daughter is called Jennifer after Jennifer Grey (I was big into Dirty Dancing at the time!) and my youngest is called Isabelle Alice. I loved a film called Ladyhawk with Michelle Pfieffer. Her character was called Isabeau but I thought that would be confused with Isabelle so I called her that instead. Alice comes from Jenny wanting to name the baby Alice in wonderland (yes the whole title). Being kids they all hate their names. Jenny wants to be Alex and Issie wishes she was Alice You can never win!!!

I know for a fact I'd like to name my kids James, and Evie, James because it's a beautiful name, i've liked it since I can remember. And Evie, because of in the Mummy, the woman's name is Evie, and I love her character, because I'd like to because a museum curator. Also in V for Vendetta, Natalie Portman's name is Evey Hammond, and that's one of my all-time favorite movies, and I admire her character in it. But I also love the names Elle, Michael, and Vincent. I've considered the name Sirius, because I love it. But, I don't think 'Sirius' would sound right on an American. And I feel like it'd need a pretty cool last name, too.

I have 2 daughters, named after two Italic goddesses, Diana and Flora. They were there before the greeks and before the romans and they were so powerful that they were included in the roman pantheon.
Another girl name I loved was Gaia, the Earth Mother.

I think that if I would have had a boy I could have named him Febo, or Diòniso, one of the male gods I like most. Another male god name I like a lot is Herne. Silvàno, too.

I really like James and Evelyn. Evelyn is just so pretty to me, I love the charaters Evey Hammond in 'V for Vendetta', and Evelyn Carnahan in 'The Mummy' [I know that sounds like a ridiculous cheesy movie, but I really like it, heh.] And James is just so classy and smart - and it reminds me of Harry Potter, something I absolutely love.
