What are everyone's favorite names?

I didn't see a topic like this at all, so I hope it is ok! biggrin.gif

Twins run in my family, so if i had twin girls i would name them Melody and Harmony, because i am very music oreinted.

For boys i like Christopher (which is funny, because that is my boyfriends name) Edward (my boyfriends middle name, and my dad's name) and Hayten
kool kat
I like Isabelle, Anna, Annelise, Lauren, Laura, Addie...And for boys I like Anderson, Samuel, Jack.....I love names, and am truly obsessed with them, great topic!
GinevraPotter
Awesome topic! The weird thing is, I was just daydreaming today about what I would name my kids when I grow up. I also love the name Christopher. I really have a love for Gaelic names, like Blaise, Aidan, Donovan, Riley, etc. For girls, I like the names Grace or Christine...as you can tell, haven't put too much thought into the girls'. tongue.gif
secretkeeper
Ohh last week a bunch of my friends were talking about this at lunch and my girlfriend wants to name the girl Secret (nothing to do with my name) and name the boy Kane. I like Secret but not Kane. If I have a boy I'll give him some exotic name that sounds hot and not just plain like Riccardo or Landon something like that. I haven't really looked into it that much because I'm not expecting to have one soon so I'll save the deep thinking for after college.
keepstar1331
Haha i already have my baby names picked out. My husband will have to deal with it lol.

Girls~ Briton, and Avery

Boys~ Aiden (whoever said that rocks lol), Carson, and Beau (pronounced Boe)

Also my kids would have to have japanese middle names *im half japanese and i think it's really cool to have a foreign name. Mine in Maemi (Mah-AY-mi) which means smile of truth. but everyone calls me Mae (May).* So the japanese names would be:

Girl Possibilities
Yumiko- arrow child (my sisters name)
Keiko- rejoicing child (other sisters name and grandmothers)
Maeko- truth child
Reiko- lovely child
Yuriko- lily child
Aiko- little loved one

Boys

Atsushi- compassionte warrior
Keitaro- blessed
Rai- thunder
Toshiro- talented (deriviant on my grandfather's name)
slytherinlvr
I have thought about this a lot. I am not planning on having any children for a long time. I think that if I had a girl I would name her either Elizabeth or Danielle. If i had a boy I would either name it William or Daniel. Those are the names I like.
Lynn
pff guys names are so hard on me... I like Duco, Niels, David and Klaus.
for girls, I like Emma, Maxime, Yasmin, Dieuwertje, Sophie, Charlotte, Sascha and Marijn. You see there are a few dutch names in it too smile.gif
corijp
Well, when I was expecting my child I decided not to find out the gender, but rather be surprised at birth. It was funny though, everyone kept telling me I was going to have a boy (by the way I was carring) and so I prepared a few boy names: Liam, Hunter, and Sean.
But I was blessed with a little girl, who I named Chloe.
Ygraine
OOoh, i have a name obsession i do!

I love the names Lilith, Freya, Paige, Aeryn for girls

and for boys, well, Nathaniel Kei is what i wat to call my kid.
Krieltje
Oeeh names biggrin.gif I like this topic

My favorite names:
for girls: Phoebe, Alyssa, Linda, Joëlle, Sarah, Emily, Rose
for boys: Jason, James, Patrick, Tobias & Nick.

There are probably more names I like smile.gif I'll add them when I think of them.
Vivi
If I'm ever going to have a baby-girl her name will be Phoebe, it doen't matter if her father doesn't like it cool.gif I also like Freya a lot, so if I'm gonna have two girls, who knows tongue.gif
I don't want my children to be named after their father, grandfather and such because I think that's really old fashioned.
Boys names are so hard to come up with... let me think... *thinks really hard* I can't really come up with a name, I feel so stupid...
MoonGoddess
Ooh, I love thinking about this kind of stuff!

Girls: Gypsy, Rebel, Olivia Rose, Madison, Lexie

Boys: Felix, Zander (Short for Alexander) Caspian, Blair

Yes...I am weird

Triplet girls: Hope, Faith, Joy

Triplets, totally understandable eh, as it makes sense. What's REALLY annoying is when you're NOT a triplet, for example yours truly. rolleyes.gif My first name's Faith and I always get people asking me, "Where's Hope, Joy, Charity?" Grrr... dry.gif

Anyway...

For me, if I were to have children this would be some of the names I'd like to give them:

Boy: Seth, Ashton, Aidan

Girl: Heather, Caitlin, Skye, Chloe

I'm quite sure I had other names in mind but they've escaped me at the moment. tongue.gif
couponking
I would name my sons Blaise Zeus and Onyx Ian. and my daughters Seth Makayli and Kendal Rayne. I know very odd eccentric names. I have also always thought Seth would sound good as a girl's name even though it is a boy's. By the way... My girlfriend is expecting a baby (girl).
gryffin_hauz_88
I really love the name Azariah. It's a Biblical name. I'm sure that this one will be named to my child. I really don't know any names yet because it will still depend on my husband's name. I want to create unique names. Anyways, I love the name Cassandra and I'll give her Casey as her nickname. wink.gif
Ygraine
ooh Ashleigh, I love the name Skye too for a girl, but I know that she'll end up marrying ssomeone with the surname Walker. dry.gif

I also love Cassiopeia i know, it's not a name, but it's still pretty and i'd call her Cassie or something...
Nimbus
Ah, me and my gf talk about names all the time...and now that I think about it I don't know why, 'cause we aren't having kids anytime soon lol. But here they are

Girls:

-Aubrey Ann (Ann is my mom's middle name)
-Piper
-Riley
-Charlie

Boys

-Callum Rain (just think rain would be a cool middle name)
-Colter
-Ephriam (I love this name. It's biblical too tongue.gif)
Anglophile92
i hate popular names..i love unque names...

my top names for girls are:
-Livvy
-Illyria (ILL-AIR-RIA)
-Pheonix
-Lalita
-Wryly
-Piper

My top names for boys:
-Aubrey
-Seth
-Ben
-Liam

If i had twins (highly unlikely) I would give them different names because there are two people not one...so that they would have their own personality...but i don't really want twins... biggrin.gif
Miseria
I hate old fashioned names that everyone else has. The only origional name I like is Jack because it takes after Jack the Pumpkin King and Captain Jack Sparrow which are totally cool characters. For girls I like Kyte or Kite and Laken.
keepstar1331
My boyfriend just told me he wants to name his son Epic...i dunno about that one. Mayeb as a middle name...

I love the name Piper. I think it's so cute
kongmoo
Ah I have this conversation with my friends all the time and they say I have the weirdest longest names for my kids ever but I don't think I do.

Boys names:-
Charles Acton Clayton
Howard William Lankston Clayton

Girls Names:-
Elizabeth Emily Clayton
Beatrix Emma Clayton

My favourite's being the Beatrix Emma Clayton for the girls and
Howard William Lankston Clayton for the boys.

gryffindor89
I love talking about names and stuff like this. Well here's mine...

Girls- Rachel Jennifer, Taylor Nicole, Bailey Lily.

There's a lot more names that I like and I'll add them once I think of them.

I think so too, Miseria. I was thinking Maddison but I watch a grumpy 5-year-old that has the same name. Addison is just an adorable name, I kind of got that from one of my favorite bands, Addison Road.
Ygraine
Oh i love the name Jeremiah too! But i reckon i'd call him Jez for short.

I like maddison and McKenzie which i'm quite shocked considering that i like old names not new ones.

Oh I like Reese too but I'd spell It Rhys which i think is the same name only spelt differently...pronouce the same any way

this is so cool....

my name is kassandra (but as you can see, with a k) and one of my nicknames is kassey sooo...

i think i would like to name my baby boy Nickoulas (sp? i hate the spell chek button thingy! dry.gif ) Troy (nickoulas troy is his full name) and for the girl Aqua,Nikki (goddes of land our something like that),Isis(egyption goddess's name)for her middle name, and Athens is a pretty name.i'm only 11 but its kind of fun thinking of things like this.
Spider22
I would might name my children with multi-sex names like Sam just for fun, so they can be occasionally mocked, I'm kidding, mostly, so i would have for a girl or boy Sam or Jo
fifilein
i am really fond of the name VIOLET. i heard it for the first time when i started to read the lemony snicket books.

for boys i like the names MIGUEL and ORLANDO (please, not like orlando bloom, but with spanish accent), because they are the spanish version of my brothers name (michael and roland).

i generally love spanish names, like CECILIA. (i study spanish at school, but i am horribel and after 2 years of learning that language i just can ask someone how he is blink.gif )

but when i give birth to a girl i will name it violet, because i really, really, love this name.

there is also a german name called NATALIE, and i also like it a lot. when i was younger, i always wanted to be called natalie, instead of stefanie.
Dominique
Er.. I dunno any boys names.. but I love these girls names:
-Evelyn
-Isabelle or Isabella
-Angelina
-Armileen
-Anna
-Annelise

I love names that begin with A rolleyes.gif *sigh* So pretty!
Oh, I thought of some boy names I like.. Zack, Matthew and Patrick smile.gif
-Dominique
Sofie
great topic, i love it biggrin.gif

well, my favourite English names are Felicity, Bonnie, Sarah and Jack. but it would be really stupid if i gave my children English names. nobody could pronounce it (Hungarians are so bad at languages) rolleyes.gif

so its really likely that i will name my daughter Adél (wich is a really beautiful Hungarian name and quite rare) and my son Lukács (Lukas in English)
Anglophile92
Adél and Lukács are pretty names. I don't like to use common names like Jessica or Michael. Too many people have those names! I love names that are unique and pretty in there own way. I like L names I names and R names.
Sofie

i agree

though, it can be funny sometimes, if nobody can pronounce your name. or your name is sg like Brooklyn or Dakota or i dont know what. there are so many stupid parents rolleyes.gif

and definately there are too many John and Mary Smiths in the world wink.gif
Anglophile92
My name is unique...yet many people say it's a very pretty name
It's Varsha (Var-sha)
If Sofie's your name, it's very pretty but it is becoming popular. Spelling is also what i like to change in a name.

For example: James
New Spellings: Jaymz, Jaymez
princesspeach2008
Me and my BFF always talk about stuff like this!
For boys:
Adam
Daxton
Bradley/Braden/Braxton
Jason
Ian
Conner
Matther

For girls:
McKinley
Delilah
Lily
Jennifer
Madison

I used to have a huge list...if I find it, I'll post again! But I always seem to have trouble with girls names!! Here's another question for all y'all: Do you want to have a boy or a girl first? (me, i want a boy!)
felix_felicis_444
haha all these names remind me of a story that my Grandmother told me...she was out to dinner with 3 of her friends named April, May, and June.

My friend's middle name is Summer and she loves it...
I know a lot of people with "word names"--what I call them--or names that are also words......Hope, Faith, Charity, Joy etc....

I am Jewish so my Hebrew name actually means "Laughter"...which fits me very well biggrin.gif

_daviD
Anglophile92
I want to have a girl first. I always have problems finding names for boys. I guess i want a girl first because i have a younger brother and no sisters. So yeah...by the way, my name (Varsha) means rain/waterfall in Hindi
Flutterflie
*lol* You know, this discussion is pretty funny, because I don't think any of you will stick to those names once it gets serious. It's just the funniest thing to make up new names during pregnancy, and switch and and and... hehe.

My daughter was supposed to be named Vanja. Or Pia Sophie. Or Franca Sörine. *lol* We ended up calling her Ronja Indira.
I always wanted a son named Marc-Andrč, but I won't even consider it during my next pregnancy, I know. *lol*

My mom already tol me the next kid was supposed to be called either Finja (girl) or Fynn (boy). So there goes.
I love Serena, but I wouldn't want my daughter to be mocked to have the name of a hygienic article...
And I love Thorin, but I got that name from the graveyard and.. uhm, I guess you see why I use it for my fanfic only. wink.gif

Flutters
Severia Snape
For girls:

Jofrid
Lin
Freja
Björk
Dina
Maria
Elisabeth

Boys:

Jonatan
Nathaniel
Teis
Aleksander

Not that I plan on having that many children ( blink.gif ) but I'd definently pick the childrens names out of these.
Anglophile92
I no what you mean Flutterflie...about the changing names thingy..

i once liked these names if i had a daughter:

-Allyson
-Ivory

Geez...what was i thinking? unsure.gif

QUOTE (Anglophile92 @ Nov 1 2005, 01:16 PM)
If Sofie's your name, it's very pretty but it is becoming popular.

This is kind of off-topic, but Sofie with that exact spelling is extremely uncommon; I know because that's my name (with the same spelling). Sophie is more common, but still pretty rare, at least for people of my age. I've only ever met one Sophie within a few years of my name, and I've been looking pretty hard! I've never met a Sofie and I probably never will.

To be on topic, I'm not really sure what I'd like to name kids if I have them (probably not). I like Nina and Helen as girls' names and probably Orion as a boy's name, off the top of my head. Though if my kids were to wind up anything like my cat, they'll have have the wrong name for their gender! I named my poor kitty Remus a few months before we found out she was a girl (long story...fortunately, we didn't learn the hard way-by having kittens). It works for her and hopefully if I have kids, their names will work for them.
winterriding
if i had a son, i will name him ****erberg.

MOD EDIT : I have no idea what you were trying to say, but clearly the censor has picked up a cuss word so whatever it was, it wasn't good. We also don't allow one liners here so please read the rules before you post again.
