Hiya and welcome to the forums!!
Could I ask you to please take a couple of moments to visit the links in my signature that will help you find your way around the forums, use the search, tell you where to find help and, the necessary evil - the rules you need to abide by when you post, just incase you haven't seen them yet.

Help on using the search engine can be found in the Newbies Central Forum (link in my signature) under the topic 'The Search Engine'. You access the search by clicking on the torch icon at the top of every page.
If you have any questions not dealt with at those links, please PM one of the moderators who'll be pleased to help you out.

You really need to be posting more than one line on the forums though - it took me a while to figure out that WWE was wrestling...

I'll allow this topic for now because I guess that technically it is more than just a TV show (we aren't allowing anymore individual TV show/movie/bands etc threads here at the moment for reasons explained in the rules), but in the future if I could ask you to please check the forums before creating new topics...thanks

you should follow the rules mate. it is better to master the rules first before posting. anyways, you'll never do it again right?

so let's go back to the topic... i love watching wwe raw and smack down! and i simply love john cena! chaingang rules! how about you?
MOD EDIT: Please leave the reprimanding posts to us, lawks. It's the mods' and the prefects' job to direct the newbies, do not take it upon yourself to do so. Thanks!

Funny...I am a 26 yr old mother of a 2 yr old and let me tell you...my house stops functioning on monday nights for RAW! Dirty dishes wait until morning, laundry...everything!
I have always been a Stone Cold Steve Austin fan. Love the Texas rattlesnake more than any of them.

But...I was starting to like Batista too...but since he got traded to Smackdown, it sucks. But yeah, John Cena is quite the yummy eye candy too!
Did you watch the 3 hour return to USA network? They had Hulk Hogan return and Stone COld and Nick Foley! It was great! I think Hulk Hogan challenged Stone Cold...

I am glad I am not the only one with small children who watches this. Everyone Monday night at 9, everthing else just gets set aside. Well that is until I realize it is another bad night of writing and I get bored halfway through.
It was good to see Stone Cold again. I would love to see him wrestle again but I do not think his neck will allow for any great amount of wrestling. As for the Hulkster, lets just say some people do not know when to retire. WWE parades him out whenever the writing is getting really bad and the show's ratings are dropping. I grew up watching the Hulkster wrestle and he was one of my favorites but it is time for him to exit the ring.
I just do not have the love for Cena that you two seem to have. To me he seems to be the equivalent of a talentless musician created by a record label and forced on people (ala..Ashlee Simpson). His matches are always the same, just insert a different wrestler each week. Since I am a guy I do not think Cena parading around the ring without his shirt has the same effect on me as it does the women so I am not WWE's target audience with him.
Despite my negatives on the show I really do enjoy it, I just miss the shows from a few years ago. What we have been getting the past year just does not have the excitement level that RAW use to have. I love to see Shelton Benjamin wrestle but WWE needs to get him some acting lessons and get him more comfortable speaking to the audience. I can not wait for RVD to return. He is one of the most exciting wrestlers they have and him being injured has left a big hole in the roster.

That's so funny Greg... We are of the same mind on a lot of that.
First off, Stone Cold is my man.

I love him and do not care if he ever wrestles agian. As long as he is out there randomly stunning people, (and drinking beer) then I am happy.

As for the Hulk, well...yeah...he is showing his age a lot this past year. Ever since they teamed him with Sean Micheals, I thought to myself: Self...it's like they will not let the old man retire! But I agree...this past year, since Wrestle Mania, everyhting has gone down hill. Last year was soooo exciting with the whole HHH vs. Randy Orton. Speaking of Shleton, when he fought HHH and they went back and forth, that was his best performance by far.
I also agree, John Cena is for us..erm...ladies.

He is one hot bod, let me tell you. But...he also appeals to the "younger" crowd too.
The most excting thing that happened on monday night was HHH totally wailing on Ric Flair!

My husband and I were trying to figure out why! Yes, RVD has always been exciting to watch. Kind of like watching Ray Mysterio in the ring. Thier flying around the ring antics really keep you on your toes!
(Yeah! Another die hard wrestling fan for me to talk to!

I'm just getting interested in the WWE. I didn't really think much of wrestling before I learned more about it from my boyfriend or watched any of the matches, but I've seen that there's a level of entertainment showed in the matches that's very interesting. When it's done well, professional wrestling looks very realistic. It shows really great athleticism. I really can't imagine that it is at all easy to pull off a majority of the moves they do without hurting each other and still making them look as good as possible. The WWE has definitely drawn me in.
Last night was great. I especially enjoyed Rick Flair running off stage with a baseball bat in tow after bloodying up his head a bit after Triple H. I though Triple H was going to cry when he saw Flair coming. WHOOO!

Oct 19 2005, 01:52 AM
You did not miss too much. I was kind of bored with it. Kane returning was the best. Ric Flair made a bloody mess of his face and went after HHH with a bat. They have a match at Taboo Tuesday. Edge will be continuing the Raw invasion of Smackdown this Friday. Since it is Matt's first night on Smackdown look for their feud to continue.
Austin was back. He now has a match against Coach at Taboo Tuesday for JR's job. I guess since Vince was not able to hire the announcer he wanted from UFC, they will be bringing JR back. There was a boring womens match (even though they were scantily clad). Angle is now Vince's lap dog. Vince sic'd Angle on Hurricane after complaining about JR. That is about it.
You did not miss much. Hope you are feeling better now. Nyquil always makes me feel much better.

But...but...that's what makes it so great! It's called acting! I really do love WWE. I think they are a man's soap opera.
And yes, Batista is very hot.

Oh yes sir...he is yummy. But, I have my Stone Cold Steve Austin. (that man is awsome!) Thanks to Gaburdette, I have been watching WWE 24/7. My husband and I were rooted to the computer last night!
But I certainly do hope the story lines get more interesting as we move closer to Wrestle Mania. Chicago this year, right?

Greg, did you (or anyone else) watch Monday Night Raw? I watched as everyone sang The Edge and Lita out of the ring. Banished to Smackdown they are....
And they have to battle Batista! Awww...I can't wait to watch Batista kick his little whinning butt!
I kept clicking over from that during the girl fights. I swear...those girls are crazy. Not even real fighting.

Bit I was happy to see the tag team match that was pretty cool. Even though they lost...
Is Eric Bishoff turning baby face now? Anyhoo...I missed some things because football was on and the husband just refused to miss his beloved Patriots...

Well I have bad news for you. Batista tore a back muscle during the taping of Smackdown last night. The best estimates are that he will be out at least a few months. I would be shocked if it was less than six months. I imagine he will be stripped of the title and a contenders tournament will take place.
Carlito and Benjamin had a decent match. Of course Carlito won. I am still trying to figure out who Benjamin upset to get sent so far down the card. The diva match was pretty bad. The former hurricane and Rosey had their match. It was ok and Helms won. Angle got upset because everyone was shouting you suck. It was a pretty good bit.
There was a great hardcore match with Kane/Show and those two rednecks. I think it was the best match of the night. Flair defeated someone but I am drawing a blank who. The tag match at the end was pretty good as well. Divari was the guest ref so you know how it ended.
I do not think Eric is turning face. I think the part he is playing is win at any cost over Smackdown even if he has to be nice to Raw's faces. Overall a much better show. Joey Styles was good in the announcers chair. Now they just have to get Coach out.

Well Greg, more bad news. My husband just informed me that Vince McMann just released the statement saying that Eddie Guerrero passed away today.

They say he was brushing his teeth and collapsed dead.
Can you believe it? At first I thought it could be a stunt, you know? BUt...sadly no...Man. RAW is going to be subdued tonight, eh?
*Raise you glass to Eddie - Latino Heat*

Nov 14 2005, 02:20 PM
I must admit when I first heard the news I thought it was a stunt too. What does that say about how low they have taken some of their angles. People just do not drop dead at 38. With the main stream news services reporting it as well I figured it could not have been a stunt.
They taped both Smackdown and Raw last night and from what little I have read about the tapings the guys were in tears. Chris Benoit was crying and Batista did a very emotional speech. Batista has been working very close with Eddie for quite some time now.
Smackdown is in trouble now with Eddie gone and Batista out for months with the torn muscle. Vince will have quite a bit of work ahead of him rebuilding the show. It was already seen as the B show so he has a lot of work to do.

As Carlito would say, "I know cool, and this is not cool." I guess in these cases, he puts it best.
I'm really bummed out about this because I was just getting into wrestling and now two of the guys I was interested in (Eddie Guerrero and Batista) both had something terrible happen to them. I hope that Batista can get well, even if he decides to go for surgery over re-hab and is gone for a long time. The really sad part is my boyfriend told me that after Batista got hurt like that, they had set Eddie up to take over the belt just before he died. Unbelievable.
I'm not really sure what's going to be done to help the show after all this has happened now.

Nov 14 2005, 02:54 PM
Yeah. I was surprised, at first, thinking it was a stunt. However, I went to the main web page and watche Chavo and Vince give the official press release and I was stunned. Chavo did a great job keeping his cool.
I too wondered about his past substance abuse and mixing those reactions with steroids. Who knows? I supposse we will hear the verdict with the autopsy report. But Chavo said Eddie had been clean and sober for 4 years now...
I was upset about batista's injury. But this...man... I think Smachdown wil have to pull out some big guns to make up for the loss of both Batista and Eddie. It just won't be the same with out hearing the theme song, "I lie, I cheat, I steal..."
EDIT: I assume you watched last night, right? My husband and I sat so quiet and had tears in our eyes as we watched those huge men break down in tears. I was surprised by Batista's show of emotion. Well, for that matter, Benoit's and HHH. I feel so bad for some of them, really I do. I was surprised Chavo didn't come on at all. And when Rey Mysterio pulled his mask off, I almost fainted. I thought he would do it, I really did. I will say that John Cena's remarks at the beginning were well thought out and articulate. Who would have thought?

Monday night's show was a real tear-jerker, no doubt. I heard that Batista was in a bad way about Eddie, but I didn't really know how bad until I saw him do his sit-down with the camera. It was really sad to see him cry like that. Chris Benoit was hard to watch, he was so sad. I don't think I've ever seen a man break down and cry like that in my life, especially not a big tough guy like him. I feel really bad that I didn't get to see more shows with Eddie before he passed on...he seemed like a really cool guy in the few instances that I did get to see him. And he was obviously well loved.
I didn't realise how young Eddie was when he went, too. That was absolutely shocking. I understand that he had a lot of alcohol and prescription med problems, but thirty-eight is just amazing to die of a heart attack out of no where like that. It's horrible he had to go like that. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Does anyone have any inside info as to why Christie Hemme was "Released" from her contract? I saw that small blurb on WWE.com and was intrigued. But I can not figure out why. Anyone know?
gaburdette
Dec 8 2005, 12:31 AM
I have a guess. She had requested that WWE send her down to OVW to actually learn how to wrestle. What a concept. It looked like WWE agreeded to her temporary absence but then they released her.
My guess is they did not want a wrestler but someone with a nice body who could go out each week and compete in Bra & Panties matches. Christy was not a fan favorite so maybe that had something to do with it. A lot of the fans were upset they brought in all the Diva search girls and gutted the womens wrestling division. If I see anything else I will post it.
Ken Kennedy is out for six months. I was actually starting to like him. He tore the same muscle Batista did just a lot worse. Batista ended up going for rehab instead of surgery and is now working a light schedule. I am sure Eddie's death had a lot to do with keeping Batista around instead of fixing the injury with surgery.
So was it me or did any one else feel completely embarrassed to be a wrestling fan after last Monday's Raw?
Snapelover
Dec 8 2005, 03:10 AM
hehehe "You're FIRED!"

Oh man...that was just sad.
I agree with the Christy thing. I know people just got tired of her. But I can say that I simply can not stand all the women on there!

They are useless wastes of oxygen. They get in the way of everything! Grrrr!
I heard that Randy Orton was going to win the title belt while Batista was getting surgery. But he opted out of it and therefore The Undertaker came back from the dead, (agian) and beat Orton. Leaving the title belt in Batista's hands. For now. Rumours are flying that Randu, and his dad, did not llike Randy giving up the title so soon.
Kennedy, I am still on the fence about. I haven't really began to like nor dislike him. WHo I can honestly say I can not watch, is the Boogyman. How retarded is that?
gaburdette
Dec 8 2005, 02:44 PM
I did find some new information about Christy. There are reports ths split was over money. Her Diva search salary was way above what the other women were making. Reports say Johnny Ace offered her a low ball contract renewal that was below what the other women make now. Christy did not accept it and WWE released her from her current contract. If I see anything different I will post again.
I also saw a report that Jamal will be coming back and reforming three minute warning with Rosie. Eric will be their manager. I hope this turns out to be true. Tag teams are not very big right now so any teams added will be a big improvement.
I am reserving judgement on the Boogyman. Lets see what happens after he starts wrestling. WWE writers at times do these stupid stunts with new people to introduce them. It is really lame and usually gives the wrestlers a bad start. Mickey James and Jillian Hall are others. The obsessed fan entrance is getting old and what were they thinking with that growth on Jillian's face. Were they stoned the day they wrote her entrance. Who ever thought up putting a fake growth on the face of an attractive women has got to be one of WWE's biggest idiots.
Snapelover
Dec 9 2005, 02:38 PM
OMG, the whole growth on the face thing was sick! Is sick actually. I thought it was a dumb, second rate thing to do for this company. It reminds me of the guy that was the 'Avenging Angel" he made like 2 entrances and then was cut...

Some of the story lines are just too much. I am not excited about the Boogy man. Anyone who weras that much makeup and has to resort to a whole weird thing like that....will not last long. It's already old and he has only wrestled...what...once?
I did read that about Christy as well. What can the Divas expect? If you're not Stacy or Trish, you have to really WORK IT in order to make a name for yourself. They just don't do anything worthwhile to be offered large sums of money.
Oh and I am not going to the Daytona show!

They sold out! The only tickets I could find were Ebay and I got outbid real quick. I checked, just for laughs, the prices of Wrestlemania tickets....~$1200 per ticket! I was floored!

I'm not really a wrestling fan before. I thought it's so violent and who would enjoy such violent show? But when I saw this wrestler, his name is Ryco (I'm not sure about the spelling of the name), my thoughts about wrestling changed. There's entertainment in it.
But I became a wrestler fan when I saw Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero. I really love this two. That's why I really cried when the Latino Heat died. I love the way he fights. His cheating, lying and stealing thing. As well as Rey, I love the way he moves. He's so fast and 619 is the best.

Oh yeah WWE, I'm a great fan of WWE ( and other league), but my favorite is Paul London ( so obvious), this man is amazing he can do anything he want, sommersault no problemo, shooting star press ok, a 450° with eyes close ( maybe not), I have a little video of him doing a double back flip from the top rope and landing on his opponent that amazing, too bad that he can't it anymore, the WWE forbid to much high flying move, too many wounded, and this guy is good looking I think ( I'm a man so is not easy to known XD ), and he's only 25 years old ( like me ).

This is a reminder to those few WWE fans here at VTM that the deadline to enter the WWE fantasy week one is tomorrow at 7 PM EST. The rosters lock at that time and any changes or new VTM players take effect for week two.
Our League name is Veritaserum and the password needed to join is "Harry1". Hopefully we can get a few more people to join and have a nice competition among us weird VTM members who watch wrestling.

With all the new VTM members maybe we have picked up some new WWE fans.
Did any catch the ECW show last night? What was WWE thinking feeding Batista to the wolves of the Hammerstein Ballroom? That is not the way to book your top Face draw on Smackdown. There was no way WWE could not have known the crowd would hate Batista. They should have booked Sabu against Big Show and let him take the belt. The crowded would have exploded with that finish rather than the "Change the Channel" chant they had going near the end. There were quite a few other negative chants but most can not be posted here. They were quite nasty and you could tell it was getting to Big Show and Batista.
