1. Harry never would have been entered in the Goblet of Fire. But Volders would have gotten him anyways. Oh and Hermione and Krum would be together.
2. Harry would have known him all along. Pettigrew would be in azkaban. Harry would not have had to sneak to Hogsmede in his third year.

oooooohh...I LOVE all of those questions!! But here's one that always stumps me:
What if Harry had never met Draco before his First Year at Hogwarts?? Would he have been sorted into Slytherin, or into Gryffindor as he is now? Would he have befriended Ron and Hermione? Would he have befriended Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle?? Would Voldemort hate him and still want to kill him?? Would he have been expelled for being the Heir of Slytherin (and opening up the Chamber of Secrets)? Would he be a bad kid, or a good, nice one like he is in Gryffindor??
believe it or not, I think all of this was influenced by Harry and Malfoy's encounter before Year 1 at Hogwarts......

1. If he never med Draco, better for him
I suppose it wouldn't change the sorting as "every mean wizard was in Slytherin".2. LV would still like to kill him as he was the 1 who would be able to fight him, no matter from what house he was.
3. What Harry is like, is in his head, no matter if he met Malfoy or not, but it's only my humble opinion...

oh my god, great, crazy questions! i thought for so long, i couldn't imagine harry as a girl!
What if Harry was a girl? hmm...if harry was a girl, things would be so different. he- opps, i mean she, might not have survived LV so many times... who would she fell in love with? maybe a boy ginny...

Well if the diggory's had accepted the winnings then Fred and Gorge would have never had that kick start to their joke and there fo reminded in school and got in serious trouble for the swamp they made in the schol in teh 5th book. ( Very funny exit from the boys)
If Harry and Cedric fought Pettigrew then Cedrci might still be a live but I dont think he would have servived seeing as he was at the mercy of LV.
My Questions
1. What if Draco was sorted into Gryffindor would his parents disown him? Would LV still have chosen him to carry out tasks? Would he still be Snapes no1 Guy? would he have become part of Harrys gang? Would he have persuaded his family to join the good side?
2. What is Snape and James were best friends and Sirius was their target of humiliation? Would Sirius then have joined his brother and joined the dark side? Would Snape still be on the good side? Would Snape have been Harrys Godfather(shudders at the thought*
3. What if young Tom Riddle was never collected by DD and invited to Hogwarts? Would he have carried on using his magic to hurt others?
Would he have dicovered he was a wizard? WOuld he have still become the mess that he is today?? Would someone else (say..Snape) have taken his place in being the worlds most feared powerful Dark wizard?>???lol Lets hope not!!

1. Then maybe he would have less happy moments in his life and less sad ones.
2. Then he'd be stuck up with the Dursleys until they'd throw him out (I suppose before he'd become an adult)
3. If there wasn't the map, people would still think that Sirius is a killer unless Sirius managed to prove he isn't.

Oh my. If Harry was a girl, she'd be called Harriet, for one thing. Ron and Hermione would still be her friends, but instead of Harry and Hermione shippers, and Ron and Hermione shippers, there'd be Harriet and Ron shippers, and Hermione and Ron shippers.
She probably wouldn't have a crush on Cho Chang, or Ginny, but instead would have a secret crush on Draco Malfoy. Haha. Ok, I'm just making up ridiculous bull now. It's funny to think of Harry as a girl though.
Without Snape and Dumbledore, Book 6 especially would be kind of empty.

I think that it would be very interesing to see how Hermione delt wiht the situation. I had a dream not long ago that I was Harry( I am a girl) and I felt really scared and I wanted to die rather than face LV and I sent my friends away to protect them. But I dont think Hermione would have taken that approach. Hermione would have never have found out Quirall wanted the Phillosiphers Stone, She wouldnt have found out about the Tom riddles diary in the second book, HSe wouldnt have found out Sirius was innocent and she wouldnt have known about black being her God father in the 3rd book. She wouldnt have gone down to the ministry in the 5th book (Sirius would possibly still be alive) She wouldnt have ever found out what the Setumsempra spell did and other spells in the HBP book and she wouldnt have dated Ginny lol.....I hope lol....! All of these things I have listed because these are all the things she disaproved of Harry doing. lol. But he did them anyways. Good On HIM!

I bet his parents won't want him as a son, and LV wouldn't have heard of him if he's sorted into Gryffindor. Nah, I don't think so he's Snape's favourite students and he's gonna be friends with Harry. That'll take out a lot of funny parts of him and Harry in the book. I don't think his family would join the good side, as Lucius is very loyal to LV, even though he did not find his master during his fall of power.

Arghh! this question is so scary! Snape and James, best pals? That is so bizarre. And, NO WAY, Sirius (how could you think of that)? But it's possible if snape and james were buddies, Sirius would have joined LV. But Snape as Harry godfather...I am so sick...but it's possible...you know...

If he was never collected by DD, he would surely use hispowers to hurt others in the orphanage. But I don't think the orphanage would keep him long there, as they thought he is a bit odd, even though they can't explain about the things that had happened there. Well, maybe some dark arts lover would come along and meet him, and tell him he's a wizard, and both of them will do what LV is doing now. hmm...Snape? be the Dark Lord? I wouldn't want that to happen too.

First off, I think that if Lupin accidentally killed Tonks, he would either become a hermit and never talk to people again, or he'd kill himself. Although, that'd be really sad...

I love this thread, I've read almost all of the posts and I am fascinated by many of them and spent about 10 minutes scratching my head trying to conteplate answers (so much so that I'm sure m other half thinks I have lice - joke 
)
- But I'm far far to tired to come up with any decent answers right now or even questios (thats my excuse and I'm sticking to it)
The only two questions that presently come to (scratched) mind are:
1) What is Sirius' parents had been nice to him, would he perhaps have been sorted into Slytherin, turned Death Eater etc - or perhaps it was his own nature and accordingly sorting that caused their nastiness, but what would have happened if they had been nice or if he had been sorted into Slytherin?
2) This one os sort-of related to 1) From what we caught a glimpse of in OotP, it can be assumed that Snapes' homelife wasn't perfect, this in addition to his 'war' with the Marauders could not have made him a happy bunny - so the 'What if' is ..what if Snape had a pleasant homelife, would that have then stopped him from being obsessed with the Dark-Arts and so he may not have been the object of dislike by not only the Maruders but other peers, which in turn may have stopped the bitterness and past/(apparent)present Death Eater status from occuring
3) What if Slughorn has not agreed to take the teaching post - would this then have meant that Ron didn't get poisened, That Snape wouldn't be the DADA teacher in HBP (given Slughorns speciality being potions, I can only assume that is why Snape was shifted onto DADA) and would this mean that Harry would not be allowed onto the Potions course, consequently making his becoming an Auror problematic but also that would mean that there would be infamous potions books belonging to a certain Half-Blood Prince
4) What if Lilly had been sorted into Slytherin?
A house primarily known for its self-survival skills, would she still have made the sacrifice for Harry?, would there still have been a Harry? and perhaps (in addition to the second question) would she had been friends with Snape - which could further lead to even more questions about What if Snape had love in his life

If Barty Crouch never escaped Azkaban then there would be less harm & trouble caused in the present & future time of Hogwarts. Less danger I guess..
