Long Live the Weasel King!

lol
Growing up with three older sisters, the youngest five years older than me, I couldn't agree more with the "hitting" thing, Dana. lol. I've always said that if a girl is slapping at me or scratching me, I'm going to hold her down until she stops. But if a girl hits me like a man, I'm going to treat her like one. Which, luckily, I've not had to do.

Of course, my sister hits like a heavy weight, but she was smart enough to stop doing that when I was thirteen and grew to be the same size as her. lol. That's when she started taking me to parties instead. So I never did get the revenge I dreamed of all those long years . . . sigh.
You're going to be a forensics investigator? Awesome! I always thought it would be cool to be a Detective, but I didn't want to have to write traffic tickets for ten years to do it, and was too lazy to go to college.
Funny how that works. I was too lazy to get money to go to college, so now I have to work twice as hard for money. Lol. The world is a funny place.
While I haven't seen any homosexual connotations in the HP series, JK did hint at schoolage sexual activity in OotP. Mrs. Weasley was telling Ginny and Hermione a story about meeting Mr. Weasley out of bounds at three in the morning. Mr. Weasley got caught by the caretaker and paddled. Also, the many students hiding in the bushes during the Yule Ball. It never says so, but there was probably more than smooching going on. And if they were doing that much there, I wonder what they were doing elsewhere

One other thing, however, is that OotP took place in 1996, (I believe. I'd have to look up the Death Day Party scene to be sure. Nearly Headless Nick gives the year of his death, and it's his 500 Death Day Party) which was a bit of a different time from now. I believe that makes Harry two years younger than me

. In my school there were people I'm certain were gay, and one I know about that came out in college, but no one would ever have admitted it. It simply was not nearly as accepted as it is now. At least not in the U.S. I don't know about England.
Anyway, I look at it like this. Homosexuality is a fact of life. Certain people are attracted to members of the same sex. There's no changing that, and to try will just make them be more gay just to spite you, if that makes sense. All you can do is accept the fact that some people are gay. It doesn't bother me as long as they don't hit on me. Which makes me uncomfortable in the same way that a girl I'm not attracted to hitting on me would. Actually, far more uncomfortable, just because they are not girls. Not even really really REALLY ugly girls. lol.
It may sound shallow of me to say that, but the fact of the matter is if you're hitting on someone it's because you're sexually attracted to them. If a girl I'm not attracted to just acts like a friend, it is possible for feelings to develop. I would never not love someone just because they weren't physically attractive to me. It's only important for first impressions.
