Ok I have been thinking about this alot lately and my question to everyone is WHAT IF harry decided to become friends with draco and was in sytherin..? How would every thing turn out? Would harry stay with draco or soon relize that hes ment to be good???

I don't think he would really fit in with the slytherins, given his past... I think he would also eventually turn on the slytherins if they spoke highly of Voldemort frequently, seeing as he killed Harry's parents.

Well for one Harry would be still be the Dark Lords prey ni doubt he'd have any mercy just because he supported him. So iguess Harry would get slaughtered, nice thought really!Big up Gryffindor!

i dont think he would go in well with the slytherins. but i know harry would not want to be friends with a student whos dad is a death eater and is a friend to a man/snake that tried to kill him.

and i agree with NickHilton. i would think that harry would still be prey for LV no doubt about it. because LV thinking,"what if he runs off with our plans?" i am sure he would be cought. not before he tells the aurors. aNd LV is good at legilmany (spelling?)

If Harry was on the bad side and Draco was good that would be very interesting.

I think that if Harry become friends with Draco he'd feel that something is off...as if he doesn't belong. Then he'd leave Slytherin and go to Gryffindor. Such a good boy!!!

Consider this- IF Harry was in Slytherin from the start he would of never been Lord Voldemort’s enemy. So if he wasn’t the Dark Lord’s enemy then LV would never been able to use Harry’s blood to gain a body.

Just think of the world of changes that could have happened if Harry sat in a different train compartment in the first book!

If Harry would have been put into Slytherin and become friends with Draco then he would have been thinking if he was on the right side while at the same time wanting to do the right thing. But maybe Lucius would have made Draco stop hanging out with Harry because Voldemort wants to kill Harry and Lucius doesn't want Draco to be hurt because he hangs out with Harry.

I think that Harry would have realized the danger posed by Voldemort if he hangs out with Voldy's followers. He would probably be betrayed by Lucious to the Voldemort, and that would be the end. Now, If Harry was on the bad side and Draco on the good, things could get interesting. Lucious might not take well to this, and it could turn into a struggle between Draco and Lucious. Harry would probably be killed by Voldemort eventually, and Draco might get into a fight with his father and maybe get pulled out of Hogwarts. It would be very interesting though, and someone should write a fanfic about it. Thats just my opinion...

I think that if harry was in slytherin, harry would turn draco good, not draco turn bad harry's will to be good is much stronger then dracos to be evil, that was proved in the HBP, wont go there anyhoo harry is good through and through!

First of all, I personally imagine Harry being bad, because then my whole view on good and evil would be distorted. But, if he was, then I would be sad. He'd prolly still be killed by Voldy, because Voldy might see him as more of a threat to his leadership if they were on the same side. And I agree with pretty in punk, because I would have to join the dark side.

If Harry had been bad....
... he would have tortured Dudley and terrorized his aunt and uncle.
... he would have distrusted the friendliness of Dumbledore, like Rom Riddle had.
... he would have been flattered by Draco's help to get introduced to "the right sort".
... he would have milked and abused his fame in the wizarding world.
... he would not have been friends with Ron Weasley or Hermione Granger.
... he would have been in Slytherin.
... he would have practised Unforgivable Curses.
... he would not have had his "saving thing", and many people would have died because he wasn't there to save them.
... Voldemort would have been able to possess him and kill him; Quirrel would not have died youching him; his own lack of love would have destroyed Love's protection.

If Harry was evil

Well here we go I believe that if Harry was evil there would never have been a story to write about due to the fact that Harry is a good guy and he is the hero of the story He isthe main reason why Voldemort wanted him dead because of the fact that he was a threat so if harry ws bad then Voldemort would never have wanted him dead therefore Harrys parents would have been alive and therefore harry would have been brought up with his parents still fighting Voldemort to this day and there would be no more Hogwarts because Dumbledore would have bee dead many years earlier Fudge would not be the minister for magic it would have gone to someone else because Fudge is not the kind of man the Wizarding World wants as a leader inm this time of crisis Therefore Ron and Hermione would never have met and harry and Ginny would never have met Cedric would probably be still alive and Fluer and Bill would not be together either Actually by now there would be no world Whatso ever apart form that as to which voldemort wouild be ruling so the following would be happening no muggles left no muggleborns left half the death eaters would be dead as well as most of the wizarding world by now because only purebloods would be left and there would be no half blood either so basically what i am saying is that this topic is so dumb if you are a harry potter fan because the story swould not exist as the world would not exist as it is if harry were bad

I want to add a tidbit to this discussion. First off, in hbp, snape mentions, that he himself thought harry to be a very powerful Dark Wizard. That was before he had seen harry in action at hogwarts. In harrys first year, snape seen a boy who wasnt all that great of a wizard. This was untill, harry fought snapes old master, LV. Then he seen that harry was some sort of wizard that could be rallied upon as a new leader. Most of the other DEs, also seen harry in this light. So, now I ask, would harry of been killed or spared, after this. Well, I must say, that LV, would still want to kill, harry, if harry was good, or Dark. You see, if he is good, then LV would have his worst enemy. Also, if harry was Dark, LV would have his most competitive competition. You see, LV wanted complete power over the whole world. He is much like that of the Devil, because, Lucifer, also wanted and still wants complete control over all souls that reside on earth. Only, God, and Jesus, are proving fordmiddable foes, for Lucifer, so, now he is at a great competition with heaven. This is much like it would be if harry was good or evil. Also, the world would be doomed, if harry was Dark, because, if LV, didnt get complete power over the world, then Harry would surely do so. Then, the world wouldnt be at peace any ways.

If Harry was evil, he would probably be best friends with Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle. He would probably be in Slytherin, and a future Death Eater, so he wouldn't want to kill Voldemort anymore.

yeah I agree. I doubt Harry would ever join the dark side. He is too kind hearted and compassionate to become a Death Eater or Draco Malfoy's friend.

AAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!! what a complicated question...(good though ) i would think that if harry was bad, he would probably become a death eater. he would not like voldemort for killing his parents, but he probably wouldn't defy him knowing how powerful he is. he would probably be assigned to kill dumbledore or something. he would probably get to a point, where he is like wormtail, taking care of the dark lord. i probably wouldn't be as interested in the stories. it is just much better the way it is.

I think that would be interesting to see Harry evil, and it whould change the story completely.

it all depends when harry actually became bad, if his parents were bad too, then harry wouldn't have all the powers he shares with LV now, or the scar which connects them, so he wouldnt really be much use to the bad side. if he turned to the bad side (although i dont know why he would) after his parents were killed by LV i think he would still hate LV for killing his parents. unless LV lied to him and blamed someone else for doing it, someone in the order. he could say dumbledore did it, im sure if harry was that devoted to LV he would believe him above anyone else

If Harry was evil, then no doubt his parents would have been this way also. And if that was the case Voldy would have killed them only if they had defied him in some way to make him angry. Also Harry would most definately had been in Slytherin with Malfoy, then perhaps it would have been Neville who would be in Harry's shoes as the "Boy Who Lived" it would make an interesting turn of events to see how the story line would have gone if Harry was evil and Neville was playing his part.

I think that if Harry was evil, he wouldn't be the one in the prophecy. I think then it would be Neville. Then Harry wouldn't be famous for living, he wouldn't have his trademark scar, and he would never meet Ron or Hermione.

My thought is that Harry didn't "choose" to not be in Slytherin, the prophecy chose it for him.

I think the Dark Lord would still be going after himno doubt. Harry would be evil and wouldnt have the courage to do many things. He would havenver solved the riddle of the sorcerers stone because his he couldnt have passed wizards chess, or the devils snare. also he wouldnt have cared enough to save ginny he would have wanted her to die. he wouldnt have saved siius and buckbeak from death, he probably wouldnt have won the triwizard cup because he wouldnt have gotten help from Cedric or neville and Dobby. He wouldnt have even known about The OoTP, and Umbridge would still be in charge.

If Harry were evil, he would be a great asset to Voldemort - the Chosen One, the only one who can defeat him, on his side, never going to betray him.

I think it would be unlikely that Harry would ever be evil, if you stuck with his same history. Think about it; why would he ever join? Voldemort killed his parents, grandparents (both sides, I presume) and has ruined his life! Why would he join him in any way, shape, or form?!

I agree with you totally LovelyLily. The last 6 books and the films would have wasted there time showing how could and what a hero Harry is if Harry turns out to be evil....

Like many of you had said i just don't think he would fit in, especially if he was friends with Draco Malfoy, because i think he would be treated like Crabbe and Goyle or maybe even Crabbe and Goyle would treat him like Malfoy treats them...If you can understand that. But otherwise i don't think he would hang out with slytherins long. Mostly because of his past.

what? Harry evil? no, i dun think so. He had his back turned against the dark side and will never join the evil side. Voldemort kill his parents. He had hated those ppl who performed dark arts since then. in the first bk, vodemort asked harry to give him the stone and join him but harry refuses. The one who can vanquish the dark lord who is so immersed in evil, noes how to love. If he is evil, he would join voldemort and dun have to bother about those horcruxes.

if harry was evil then there would be no harry the hero and no one would really be so crazy about him... some people would of course. if harry was evil then someone else would be in his place as the person with the dark and evil past, no family, incredible power and that person would also have the life of the hero. if there was no good harry there would be a bad harry and no films called Harry Potter....

Harry would never become evil. If someone killed your parents could you EVER be friends with someone that was in the least bit associated with them? Also, I dont think would ever be firneds with Malfoy in the first place, Harry just isnt like that.

Like so many people have said, Harry's past would have been different, had he been evil. He would have been raised to be evil, most likely along the same lines as his parents. And if Lily and James were evil, then Voldemort may have had them on his side, and they would be alive to raise Harry as they saw fit.
Who knows... I think Harry would make a weak bad guy, unless he had some form of revenge to go on.

Harry's personality would not have let him jion draco. and if did hed prbably be dead. i needs ron and herminoie for their gifts he would be dead with out them.

I agree that he'd probably be dead if he were on the evil side. He would never join the evil side though. That would probably ruin the series. Not to mention confuse it all.

There wouldn't even be a series if he were on the evil side - he'd be killed off too quickly.

No, I really can't see it happen. He is too good inside. Too sincere. Why would he have spent his whole life trying to vanquish Voldemort if he was on the same side as Voldemort? It just wouldn't make sense. He's too genuine. He really does care for those around him and he is completely serious when he says he wants to kill Voldemort.

If Harry is evil, then I am the Queen of England! I really don't think he is evil because if he tried to join Draco, Draco would probably laugh in his face and then curse him. Harry would only become evil if he was under the Imperius curse.

I'll be honest and admit that it wasn't a long time ago that i wanted to see him turn evil in the last couple books...i don't know why ahaha...i mena..maybe it was because i'd like to see a really big twist. don't get me wrong, JKR creates really good twists in her books, but yeah, imagine harry switching over to the evil side...wowsa..hahaa

umm.... that would be kindda wierd so do you mean that we need to use neville right cause they are kindda the same so if we used neville then he would need to get reallllly good at magic and not be like so wierddy and stuff.

This is a very difficult topic because there are many options and pathways that Harry could take. I think when he first starts at Hogwarts and he didn't know about the reputation of Slytherin, then he would be in Slytherin and be friends with Draco. But i think as the years go by the goodness would come out and he would turn against them. But even after that he would still be a marked man for Voldemort and he would have an all mighty struggle for his life when they fight. I'm so used to him being on the good side that even thinking about him being evil sends shivers down my spine. As i said before i would hope that he would see the error of his ways and come to the good side.

If Harry was evil then Voldemort wouldn't be after him, I don't think he could kill someone who could be of use to him becuase Harry would be evil therefore on the dark lords side I also think that when my sister posted on this thread, I think she was right She said that:

If Harry accepted Dracos offer then sure, a few things might of changed, but not every thing. If Harry and Draco were friends it wouldn't be the submissive Draco-Crabbe-Goyle relationship, they would be equals. (I doubt Harry would let Draco walk all over him)Personally I think even if Harry did end up in Slytherin, he would still feel pity for the unfortunate, because he knows what that feels like. I don't believe that Harry would ever be completly 'evil', because.........well, it's Harry we're talking about! An interesting idea though.
And maybe Slytherin wouldn't have changed him as much as everyone seems to think.

Such a very good question! I disagree with views that Voldemort will not hunt him anymore.
Because even though harry is evil, Voldemort will still hunt him and will try to kill him. Voldemort doesn't like to share power with anybody else, remember?
If Harry is on the bad side, he will have his own followers. he will be determined to further his cause and kill anybody that stand against him which is also true to Voldemort.
But ofcourse they will not survive. A house that is divided cannot stand (a biblical view). JKR knows this

If Harry was evil, the someone would step in and be the hero. From spending the last ten years of my life reading anything and everything (even if they were picture books) I could get my hands on, I found that there will always be someone who is good and defends good. Even in real life.

And I don't think Harry could really be bad. I mean, he's had so many chances to go bad, join the slytherins, join Lord Voldy-thing, but he didn't. He stayed good and uncorrupt the whole freaking seven years.
